sometimes it takes so long time to get confirmed and sometimes too it is rejected or refunded because the event i selected was suspended.
it is maybe make him concern as he bet big amount and sure i will worry too if i am in his position , i wish you directbet can fix & improve this very soon. |

I don't think that a bet can ever be held in limbo. It should be accepted or rejected prior to the start of the game. All other books do this.
If the bet had lost, there's no guarantee that the bet would have been refunded.
The same problem happened many times in the past with DirectBet using bitcoins. Are there any cases where the bet was refunded in a situation where the bet lost?
The first two legs of a 3 team parlay won prior to the bet being rejected.

I'm biased negatively towards DirectBet because of multiple bad experiences. Their customer service (responses) have been professional, thought out, and overall good. However, I feel cheated and in a "lose lose" situation when I bet on their book. If I bet 50 ETH and I send an e-mail about the 50 ETH staying in their wallet for 4 hours (requiring manual intervention on their end) and not confirming my bet, all I ask is for a TIMELY response back. I think 4 hours to respond is not reasonable. Especially when I'm over 2500 ETH put in play in July alone. Oh, and then there's the fact that my 3:1 parlay won and didn't get paid out.  I've used Nitrogen and I've had great experiences so far. The only reason I'm using DirectBet is because of ETH, but I'm sure that will change soon. Any opinions on this case? KoSoVar made a 50 ETH 3 team parlay bet with DirectBet. After two games won, DB canceled the wager. KoSoVar sent an email 1 hour prior to the first game. I know I said I wouldn't post in this thread anymore but I want to clarify the hungarstyles situation. After requiring hungerstyle to present KYC information, DirectBet paid hungerstyle his deposit plus winnings. Directbet refunded the wager but did not payout the winnings from the BTC36 bet. There was a smaller BTC2 wager that was paid, I'm not aware of the exact details behind that one though. DirectBet requested KYC information, but I think it's fair to assume they ultimately paid Hungarstyle out of respect for the publics opinion without receiving any valid information. ( DirectBet claimed the documents submitted were altered. Also, I think it's safe to assume many users, including myself, would submit fraudulent personal information if they were in hungarstyles situation ) While many details of the situation make DirectBet worthy of serious criticism, they should be praised for ultimately conceding to the overall view of the general public encouraging other sites to do the same in the future. I think ultimately the best way to avoid these situations in the future is to convince players and sites to come up with a dispute resolution policy that involves a unbiased third party. This is a good idea. Books implementing arbitration should be rated higher. |

You guys make some great points on Jetwin along with players being limited fast. What do you feel are the advantages of DirectBet over other books? My personal feeling is that there is little reason to play at DitectBet. The odds make it impossible to win long term with a fair amount of action.
Instant payouts is no longer an advantage now that other books are paying out so fast. More bets get rejected at DirectBet than other books because of the extra step required to place a bet.
Anyone else have opinions on Jetwin and DirectBet?

DirectBet upgraded from "D" to "C+" DirectBet uses the "back" odds from Betfair adding more take out. There is a minimum amount needed at Betfair for DirectBet to put up a line. Many times there aren't lines up on one side or both since lines are dependent upon lines at an exchange. The lines at DirectBet aren't competitive in most markets. DirectBet claimed that player hungerstyle maliciously attempted to double spend 36 BTC. DirectBet confiscated the 36 BTC plus the winnings from the wager. After requiring hungerstyle to present KYC information, DirectBet paid hungerstyle his deposit plus winnings. One thing that is worrisome is that another player had his deposit and winnings confiscated. This player has not been paid. DirectBet contends that they still have the right to confiscate funds for attempted double spends. The attempted double spends are not always the fault of the player, it can be the wallet. DirectBet Even though we can confiscate his bet per our terms and conditions, we are willing to refund it as a goodwill gesture and in an effort to resolve this matter but unfortunately so far he did not cooperate. |

I have just few chosen sites for sports betting and directbet is at top of them as more than 60% of my bets I place there always.It all about ease of use with minimum effort and good odds too.I will say '' A '' is my rating as I didn't face any problem so far.I am fully satisfied with them till this moment.
One gambler ( hungerstyle ) won a bet $ 16,500 but there are some issues with the win I do not know for sure what the problem I only hear rumors Double spend and hacker according to the rules on the site Directbet if indications violate the rules will be seized funds. and the one thing that struck me as very odd is the fact that their maximum bets for any selection/event is anything between 1btc and 4 btc.

Many sites require at least one confirmation (or more) to prevent being exploited by double spend attempts.
I assume DirectBet knows this and chooses not to require 1 confirm in hopes it will attract more players.
If a site is going to accept 0 confirm deposits they should expect players to try and exploit this. They should also expect innocent double spends to happen. There are two ways of handling these situations.
A)Make sure they are never scammed and seize any bets with suspicious double spend attempts.
Result: Scammers will never succeed but inevitable innocent players will not be paid causing damage to DB reputation.
B) Pay out every bet unless they can prove beyond a reasonable doubt that a wager was made with the intention of exploiting the house.
Result: They will end up losing funds to scammers, which will encourage more scammers to scam more, but DB will maintain their exceptional reputation for being trustworthy.
Of course, there could be other ways to prevent these situations (accepting action from 0 confirm deposits from only established players for example) . If I were them, that's what I would be focusing on. |

This is a self moderated thread. Books will be censored if they post about another book. No posters will be censored unless posts become overly repetitive.
All of DirectBet's posts, as well as posts that quote DirectBet will be deleted. Thread rules state that books must only talk about their own book. Books should not have to come into this thread to defend themselves from attacks by DirectBet. DirectBet may post about the individual case at hand but nothing else. New posters may also have their posts deleted to prevent DirectBet from ghosting. |

gogo - attempted double spend doesn't mean that you tried to double spend. It means that you may have tried to double spend. It may have already shown up on a couple of your bets.

gogo - You've been around the block. Players take shots at books all the time playing bad numbers or after games have been started. None of the books confiscate deposits as a punishment. They cancel winnings. DirectBet confiscated a deposit and that should never be done.
