1741  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Backslash - the easiest way to send and receive Bitcoin on: September 03, 2015, 09:04:17 AM
Day 4, I wonder if this message will ever go away:

"We're experiencing a spike in traffic and we've exceeded our capacity for on-blockchain transactions. Please try sending your payment again in a little while. We're sorry for the inconvenience."
1742  Economy / Services / Re: Looking for Good Bitcoin Investment on: September 03, 2015, 08:10:13 AM
Buy my stuff, resell it for a higher BTC float price as the market continues to tank back to nothingness.
1743  Economy / Games and rounds / Re: Just Having Fun, You Guess You Win... ;) on: September 03, 2015, 08:04:05 AM
Fucking waste of all our time, ignore bait, bullshit.

If you're going to run a 1-100 game and end it before there are 100 unique and legitimate repliers, then you should have each person's post #-1 be their fixed number.

1745  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Use cases. What do you actually use Bitcoin for? on: September 03, 2015, 02:42:55 AM
I've bought a few things online with BTC, but I still use fiat for the majority of my purchases.

Bitcoin is purely speculative for me currently. I plan on holding it for a while until it gains some mainstream traction but then I'd like to be able to spend it on anything I would normally buy with fiat.

I use it for online shopping. For me bitcoin has become as boring as money.

Bought 40 of these last night. Not very interesting.  Cheesy

What the hell are they?

I think that's a doorknob.

Heh, Russia's Mission Control Center is in https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Korolyov,_Moscow_Oblast and it's about 25k from Zvyozdny gorodok (Star City), where https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yuri_Gagarin_Cosmonaut_Training_Center is. If OP is the legit owner, might be a good place for US aerospace industry/government people who are working/astronaut training over there while the US isn't doing manned spaceflight. Then rent it out for BTC if they're allowed to once they return to the US.
1747  Other / Off-topic / Re: Knife or Gun. which would you choose on: September 02, 2015, 08:27:53 PM
irresponsible in the use of firearms; especially :  inclined to shoot before clearly identifying the target

How many seconds of loaded gun possession by a person need to elapse without their guilt, before that person can no longer legitimately be called "trigger happy"?

the fact or state of having committed an offense, crime, violation, or wrong, especially against moral or penal law; culpability

A negligent discharge with only self-injury or property damage is also guilt, a violation/wrong against the 4 rules of firearm safety.
1748  Economy / Services / Re: 0.005btc redesign my avatar on: September 02, 2015, 06:14:13 PM
P.S.  also want to acknowledge the excellent work of medUSA but little does not meet my needs. But for your time I will pay a consolation prize (provide as your address), if you need it.

Thanks for your offer. No need to send me anything. I wasn't expecting any prize anyway, I simply pointed you to a google search result. I thought it looked rather nice as an avatar Smiley

I'll take it for https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1167942.msg12297451#msg12297451
1749  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] 1Broker.com - Trade forex, indices, stocks and commodities on: September 02, 2015, 12:34:16 AM
People are saying the BTC/USD pair is back. When will that be put on the public-facing website, namely https://1broker.com/?c=cfds and https://1broker.com/?c=market_hours and/or https://1broker.com/?c=blog and/or ?

Only BTC/USD references I'm seeing are on
https://1broker.com/?c=overnight_financing_calculator_btcusd
https://1broker.com/?c=profitloss_calculator_btcusd
https://1broker.com/?c=about_fees

So does "We do not charge fees on Saturday and Sunday, either." apply to BTC/USD; you can buy BTC on UTC Saturday, sell it on UTC Sunday, and no overnight fee?
1750  Other / Off-topic / Re: if you entered your wallet and you found 50BTC what you will do ? on: September 01, 2015, 06:09:59 PM

1751  Economy / Goods / Re: [WTS] Apple MacBook Pro Retina 13 inch - Staff Member on: September 01, 2015, 09:14:22 AM
"Brand New" condition means it's never been used, it's sealed in original packaging. You probably mean "Like New", but any unsealed computer or mobile device can be compromised for future BTC use.
1752  Economy / Services / Re: 0.005btc redesign my avatar on: September 01, 2015, 09:09:04 AM
BTC0.005 was only worth my trying to reverse Google image search your avatar and coming up empty, but finding this transparent BG instead. It probably needs only a few edits to the tie and the vest and shadow: https://pixabay.com/p-297507/
1753  Economy / Services / Re: Need Youtube expert to contact the youtube support. Paying good $$$ on: September 01, 2015, 08:57:50 AM
What is your first/fluent language? If you haven't contacted them directly and gotten someone fluent in your language, I'll see if I can.
1754  Economy / Services / Re: Buy me a tie on: September 01, 2015, 02:33:37 AM
The Tie Bar is on Amazon http://www.amazon.com/gp/aag/main?ie=UTF8&asin=&isAmazonFulfilled=1&isCBA=&marketplaceID=ATVPDKIKX0DER&orderID=&protocol=current&seller=A32FQKBE4XLKI7&sshmPath=
but it looks like they only have the lower field density one on there: http://www.amazon.com/Coral-Dotted-Patterned-Linen-Self-Tie/dp/B00BFWCYV0/

Try asking if they'll put your one up?

If you want to draw unwanted attention to yourself, use a gun. If you don't, use anything else.

1759  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: Backslash - the easiest way to send and receive Bitcoin on: August 31, 2015, 08:00:18 PM
Another casualty of economic totalitarianism.

Quote from: email from team@backslash.io, Subject: Backslash - Backslash is shutting down
Dear thebutterzone,

Over the past year, we worked very hard to build the easiest way to send and receive Bitcoin. We learned a ton, received some amazing feedback, and had a lot of fun along the way. We’re very sad, but under the current circumstances, we have made the difficult decision to cease operations. Backslash will officially close its doors on September 14th.

As a non-funded, California-based, Bitcoin wallet service, we do not have the resources to comply with the ever-changing regulation. If we continued operating without investing a lot of time and money into our compliance program, we could quickly become an illegal operation.

As we wind things down, will do our best to make sure everyone can withdraw the entirety of their funds in a timely manner.

If you have any questions, or if you’d like to learn more about our decision, please reply to this email.

Paul Benigeri
Co-founder, Backslash
backslash.io

How to withdraw your funds:

Backslash will remain operational until September 14th. You will be able to withdraw your funds by sending a payment to an external Bitcoin address.

After September 14th, Backslash will be no longer be operational, but you will still be able to withdraw your funds. All users will still be able to login and specify a Bitcoin address to withdraw their funds.

If you need to create a new Bitcoin wallet, please refer to this website: https://bitcoin.org/en/choose-your-wallet
1760  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: August 31, 2015, 05:13:30 AM
If you select your account, there's an option to "Export" the account in xPub format. That's the same as sharing a public address. Anyone with an xPub key can import it as watch-only and see all your addresses and balances, but can't spend from it.

Hm, so could you now or in the future...
import your Mycelium xPub to Electrum, then use Mycelium to sign unsigned TXs generated by Electrum?
OR
import your Mycelium xPriv to Electrum, delete the xPriv out of Mycelium, leaving only the xPub, then use Electrum to sign unsigned TXs generated by Mycelium?
