1021  Other / Off-topic / $100 million is going to the person with the best idea for how to spend $100 mil on: June 15, 2016, 07:16:29 AM

https://www.100andchange.org/

Who wants to form an organization to identify a major problem in society, which is BTC being traded for less than the all time high, that has a realistic solution to that problem, which is eating through all the ask walls; and that can enact that solution for $100 million?
1022  Bitcoin / Mycelium / Re: Mycelium Bitcoin Wallet on: June 14, 2016, 08:30:37 PM
I have a small problem with Mycelium. It always displays a "Secure My Funds" button.

When I tap the button, it creates a complete backup of the non-HD wallets, yet one of these wallets always keeps displaying a red "Backup missing" label. It is the one that also displays a green "(Local Trader account key)" label. This wallet is in the backup, complete with private key, so it appears to be backed up.

It looks like a minor defect to me, but in a financial app like this even minor defects are unsettling.

IIRC you have to use the verify backup function in Mycelium to get rid of that label.
1023  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Shooting erupts at Florida gay nightclub, 'multiple injuries': police on: June 13, 2016, 08:59:01 PM
Florida is so shit in terms of civil rights, just like Texas.

Why do you want to mention civil rights in this topic? The attacker was an Afghan Muslim, and the majority of the victims were white. Now what this has to do with civil rights? What is the relation between civil rights and ISIS (which claimed the responsibility for the attack a few hours ago)? Race was not a major factor here.

Civil rights are about rights for LGBT people too - interesting that you assumed it was purely about race. Some of the victims were black. Note also how some of the Christian groups have been cheering these deaths. Also, the attacker was born in the USA - American born people getting access to guns and going on shoot-outs, where have we seen this movie before?

At the aurora theater I reckon!

Both "gun-free zones" for everyone but violent criminals!

Indeed. Jim Crow FTW.
1026  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Once again Gun Culture has took the life of Singer Christina Grimme....? on: June 12, 2016, 09:36:22 PM
The gun culture is one of the reasons why the US is the worst nation in the world.

US is the worst nation in the world? Then which one is the best? Rwanda? or Somalia? Now could you please define the terms "best" and "worst".

In Latin America, there are countries such as El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala, where violent crimes are much more prevalent than that in the United States. Gun ownership is illegal in these countries. But that seems to be having the opposite effect.

That's an incovenient fact many gun control advocates like to forget.

More like reject reality and substitute the International Criminals Union's own, where disarming everyone but violent criminals & bribers isn't corrupt, isn't a hallmark of a failed state, and isn't part of what makes innocents unable to secure their personal economy.
1027  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Once again Gun Culture has took the life of Singer Christina Grimme....? on: June 12, 2016, 07:18:21 AM
"Gun culture"= criminal safety Newspeak to cover for the fact that the human right to effective self-defense in FL has been usurped into a taxed privilege for only law-abiding, mentally-sound, drug/alcohol-free adults, while violent criminals carry all the weapons they want at all times.
1028  Other / Politics & Society / Americans taking asylum offers in other countries then coming back on: June 12, 2016, 07:15:49 AM
There is only one permanent solution to this problem. All the decent people like Burt in this fucked up country need to leave. Let all the asshole government leeches stay here and suck the blood out of each other until they're all dead. Then we can come back and reoccupy the empty land. Several countries have agreed to offer asylum to any American that wants to leave if that fool Trump wins. We should take them up on it.

Frying pan into the fire.

I wouldn't leave the US unless I had full diplomatic immunity, able to effectively defend myself & exercise all other human rights, and not have to bribe anyone or go to prison for it.
1029  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BurtW arrested (update: charges dropped!) on: June 12, 2016, 04:16:50 AM
justice by a committee of people who are not smart enough to get out of jury duty, don't want to be there, take what the judge says as gospel, and wouldn't know a Bitcoin from a hole in the ground

Exactly why EVERY bitcoiner should be prepared and absolutely willing to serve on a jury and nullify totalitarianism.

I think more papers and documents should go to owning a gun,, like u passed a therapy about anger management, u got stable job, etc.

Shall be infringed with prior restraint.

1034  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: do you accept bitcoins in your business on: June 07, 2016, 08:55:11 PM
I accept it for everything in my sig, and more.

I have confusion about this matter, Bitcoin rate is rising everyday like
Date               Close          Change
2016-06-05    $574.11    0.11%
2016-06-04    $573.45    0.52%
2016-06-03    $570.47    6.01%
2016-06-02    $538.15    0.32%
2016-06-01    $536.42    0.87%
2016-05-31    $531.80    -0.15%
2016-05-30    $532.59    1.62%
2016-05-29    $524.08    -0.26%

but if this decrease to 200 suddenly then??

Then it'll take about 24 hours or less before the price converter images that I use (based on the global weighted average from BitcoinAverage) catch up.
1035  Other / Politics & Society / Re: What's your opinion of gun control? on: June 07, 2016, 12:35:00 AM
I think the way we can reduce on gun control would be on the limitation of bullets for 1 ownership.

So less bullets - limiting peoples when they do fire a gun. It may not sound like much, but if a school shooter was limited to bullets start with it would be less deaths.

Mass murderers never truly limited in any way, only their victims.
1036  Bitcoin / Electrum / Re: Help With Checking Signature of Electrum Download on: June 05, 2016, 07:42:09 AM
It will say that as long as you haven't signed 0x695506FD, which you shouldn't do unless you've met them in person to verify they own 0x695506FD.

Would I be right in saying then that Kleopatra has successfully checked the Electrum signature, but it can't give me the complete OK because I don't know/trust Animazing personally?

Yes....

... then why in the FUCK would you have a PGP signature.  Goddamit.

Because all these signers help establish to some degree of certainty that they are who they say they are. Especially ThomasV, the lead Electrum dev. http://pool.sks-keyservers.net:11371/pks/lookup?op=vindex&search=0x9914864DFC33499C6CA2BEEA22453004695506FD

1040  Other / Off-topic / Re: What would you like to be able to buy with BTC online? on: June 01, 2016, 08:40:18 PM
As the title says....

What products would you like to buy online with your BTC? Anything that is not yet available?

actually these days when bitcoin is very popular, you can buy almost anything online that you want, legal or illegal things, so you just have to search for them online and you will find them

but i miss good computers stores, and phones, as there are a lot of fake phones sellers for bitcoins, i'm not sure how with computers stuff, but fake phones are really popular to sell

"Fake phones"? Huh?
