does this program allow backtesting?
also, what are the strategies ?

leonArdo doesn't allow backtesting yet, but its on our todo list.

It comes bundled with two strategies. A simple Ping Pong strategy that allows you set a static buy and sell price. And a more advanced mArgin maker strategy that is more dynamic and will adapt to changing market conditions.

The best way to check them out is to try the demo, but I know you can't right now as you are running XP. We'll get back to you on that soon!

nice software, im interest to try this platform
Can you mention the advantages of this software compared to other software?

Hey dHe_zHiq,

Thanks for your interest in leonArdo!

The main difference between leonArdo and other bitcoin trading platforms is that it is a C++ desktop application. This makes interacting with it a pleasure. It has been built from the ground up with an emphasis on graphical interactions so for example you can drag limit orders (or bot orders) to new prices, maybe to a price which places your order just beyond a wall so that it has a better chance of getting executed. The order book and wall are also visualised in a price aligned depth chart. And as you drag the order you receive visual updates as to the effect this will have on the gain or reduction in gain you will make.

We take full advantage of the APIs from the exchanges we support and deliver you all the relevant information concerning your account in the unique interface that is leonArdo. This means for example that maybe Bitstamp is offering you exchange fee free trading for this month - if that is the case then leonArdo will receive this info and incorporate it into the visualisation of the gain you can expect to make in a trading cycle for the parameters you have set in your bot.

There are many more features (VWAP, 4 years historical data, ruler, timezones, visualised cycle gains etc.) that you can check out on our website. Just go to www.marginsoftware.de and click on Tutorial.

Last but not least we have set up a real company in Germany and are here for the long haul. More exchanges will be added and we are also planning on releasing an API for leonArdo which will allow anyone to write there own automatic trading strategy and run it on leonArdo. Even sell it to others if you like Smiley And I forgot to mention that leonArdo comes bundled with two algo trading strategies!

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask!

All the best,
The leonArdo guys

doesnt work for me

Hi Stingery64,

We found the issue. But fixing it will take a bit of time. Actually leonArdo was built to only support Win 7 onwards. We didn't think there were any XP users left Smiley

So in order to try to fix it we have to get our hands on an XP version first.

For now have you considered a switch to a newer version of Windows?

We will get back to you as soon as we can with an update.

Thanks for your interest in leonArdo and sorry for the inconvenience.

All the best,
The leonArdo guys

Hey Stingery64,

Can you give us some more information? What flavour of Windows are you running? Is it XP? At what point do you get this message?

Thanks,
Jonathan

Want to practice bitcoin and other alt coin trading? Check out leonArdo's free paper trading terminal.

It even has two algo trading strategies you can try out. Plus a ton of really great GUI features built right in and historical data going back a few years.

Currently it let's you trade on btc-e and bitstamp, but more exchanges will follow.

And if you try it and like it then please consider purchasing the real thing!

Details of both versions can be found here: www.marginsoftware.de

1790  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Does anyone knows Bitcoin Arbitrage? on: June 13, 2015, 08:33:01 PM
I agree that there appear to be bots trading these things.  If you don't make or buy a bot you chances of arbitrage are slim.  There is a bot that does arbitrage withing an exchange, when there is an inefficiency between 3 currencies, such as dollar, btc and ltc.  But we are talking about really slim margins here.  IMO you are better off using other methods of trading to make money.  And trading isn't easy so be careful!

I suppose there are not many bots, especially for altcoins markets. Just checked live cross-exchange table (http://www.bitcoinfo.ru/trading/ for example) and noticed many altcoin pairs with 5-10-20% arbitrage possibilities.

Some make such trading manually but no signs for the bot activity.

Another issue is liquidity. Just because BTC has a certain price on an exchange, if the volume is too low then it doesn't help much.

Thanks a lot for your comment Jude. It's really appreciated Smiley

I like where this product is going.

Timely and informative responses from the people within the company.

Even peaceful coexistence between LeonArdo and Sampey (Creator of C. A. T),  C. A. T I still use to this day.

Keep up the good work. As soon as leonArdo has an API for an exchange I use I will purchase it.

Thanks a lot Chang Hum!

I was one of the first customers of Leonardo just over a year ago, the team are great, provide great support and I'd highly recommend to anyone reading this thread to give this product a test run!

Interesting, but new software, that has me put in my API keys. That's scarey. Sad

Hi takagari,

First off our software isn't new. We have been selling it for over a year now. Check out this thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=506317.0

Secondly, the demo version of our software is new, but doesn't require you to put in any API keys.

Finally, if not using API keys, how would you expect trading software such as leonArdo connect to your account? Magic?

For the record, we NEVER have access to your full API key info. Using leonArdo you connect directly to the exchanges - not our servers. leonArdo only links to our servers to download the (very useful)
historical data we have. Furthermore, the API keys we get you to set up for leonArdo do not have withdrawal permissions enabled. Therefore even if we had access to them, which we don't,
all we could do is trade on your account  Wink

We are a legitimate company based in Germany. Details can be found on our website: http://www.marginsoftware.de/contact.html

Thanks for your interest. I hope I have convinced you that your concerns were unfounded.

Release notes for leonArdo Demo - Paper Trading Terminal

1. Please note that the paper trading edition does its own order matching locally. Your orders are 'blended'
into the market. It behaves as if you had really placed the order on the order book yourself. Of course, if your
simulated orders become a significant amount of the order book, the results will differ from real world experience.

2. In some cases recovery from sleep experiences an issue and halts the markets. A restart of leonArdo will
do the trick. Don't worry you won't lose any data as it's saved locally.

3. On start-up leonArdo matches any outstanding limit orders against the trade history to simulate real world
conditions.

Hi! I just downloaded the demo and noticed a scroll bug (Mac version). No matter which way I scroll it zooms out. The only way to reset is to click on one of the timeframe buttons.

Hi Dadj,

You are right! I use a mouse with a click wheel and that supports zooming in and out. We need to take a look at fixing that for a Mac trackpad. Thanks for the tip.

For now the solution you found is a good one. Just click on one of the time frame buttons. If you right click (using the trackpad) and horizontally slide your finger to the left you can pull out the price aligned depth chart.

Not yet, but we are investigating support for decentralised exchanges like the nxt Asset exchange.
