181  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why is Elon Must not tweeting about any crypto coin on his twitter now ? on: April 01, 2024, 05:36:22 PM
Earlier, he was making lot of posts related to different altcoins. I do not advocate this action but it many times gave some boost to that coin. What is the reason that he has stopped doing that ? Has he been told not support any coin by some court order ? Or did he stop because lot of people ridiculed his actions keeping in mind the level he is at financially ?
I don't know the exact reason, but it's best for him not to do it.
He's kind of almost the same as what McAfee did in the past. The only difference is that, McAfee back in the days is promoting new projects while Musk is "indirectly" promoting established altcoins.

I guess it's good for him not to post anything related to cryptocurrency or include a project on his post because he's kind of like pumping and dumping the coin like what happened to DOGE a few years ago where he continuously post anything about the project, and it's price went up significantly, and because of that, many made profits, but most lost their money because of him. Been told not to support any coin? I don't think so. He believes in "freedom of speech" and I don't think that somebody will dictate him not to support any coin. He don't tweet anymore because maybe he don't want to involve himself anymore with crypto.

Overall, I think it's a good move by him not to make any tweet that's related to crypto because let's face it, while many will make profits because of his tweet, many will also lose their money because of FOMO.

Re: Bitcoin way forward - Towards $100k or $50k
Bitcoin will go towards $100K 100%.
That massive dip that happened few weeks ago might be the final dip before the market goes up significantly. That dip gave us another opportunity to accumulate even more Bitcoins as well as other altcoins at a lower price.

I don't see Bitcoin going down to as low as $50,000 at least this year, and with the sentiment being bullish, it's more realistic that Bitcoin will reach $100,000 for the first time ever. Of course, I might be wrong though, but basing on history, the year where the halving event happens is most of the time a bullish year, so I expect the same for 2024, and will be the same for 2025 before we enter the bear market in 2026.

I also believe that Bitcoin will only reach $50,000 price again in 2026 when we enter the bear market.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "Meme" coins are ruining everything on: March 31, 2024, 05:15:59 PM
~
What's your opinion on this? Do you think the "meme" coins craze will move the industry away from being a utilitarian one to a speculative one? Will the hype last forever? Do you think crypto will do fine with "meme" coins in the way?

Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Meme coins might be a very risky investment, but I still believe that it isn't ruining "everything"

Meme coins are always being created under a particular blockchain meaning that increases the day-to-day transaction under that blockchain which is a good thing. I know that most of the meme coins right now will come and go, but there are still benefits of meme coins especially for those who got huge profits into it already. Well as for the gas fees, I believe that the Dencun upgrade of Ethereum focuses on the gas fees of other L2 networks, and while not all are affected by it, the most popular ones are like Polygon, Optimism, and I believe even zkSync.

There's no such thing as "forever hype" when it comes to crypto. P2E got it's hype way back in 2021, and it went down as the months pass by. Same with Meme coins way back a few years ago. Now the meme coin is getting hyped again. Most new meme coins will pump in price, but in the next months, it's price might go down even though we are in a bull run. I believe that meme cons will be fine. I mean we've seen meme coins like DOGE, SHIB, FLOKI, PEPE, and others that are becoming more popular, and the crypto space is working just fine. Meme coins are here to stay that's for sure. Smiley
184  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman-Fried, the "Crypto King" jailed for 25 years on: March 31, 2024, 04:51:32 PM
After 25 years, he will be 57 years old already. We aren't sure if he will serve the full 25 years because as much as we hate SBF, there might be a chance that he will go out earlier because of "good behavior".

This is also the reason why I think 25 years is too short considering that the initial number of years that he will be in jail was around 100+ years. The once billionaire turned into a fraudster. Well, he's been called a billionaire because he is holding a huge amount of money that came from different investors of his project. The sentence has been given, and I don't hope for the best for him, but I do hope that he will pay those investors who lost their money, and when I mean pay, they will be paid in full.

Scam Bankrupt-Fraud's reputation has been destroyed already and even when he goes out of jail, I doubt that there will still be people who will trust him just in case he creates a new crypto project again. Overall, I feel worried to those investors who lost their money investing into the project. Some of them even put their life savings into it which is not advisable but still, there are some who are doing it.
185  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Any news on the PI Network? on: March 31, 2024, 04:26:29 PM
~
Is there actually a community building apps and utilities on the Enclosed Mainnet for the network?
There are some unpopular websites who are continuously posting articles regarding Pi Network, and because of this, I'm already thinking that they paid these websites just to promote the project where in fact, it's been years since this project has been introduced to the public and yet, there is no Mainnet launching whatever.

People are hoping that the coin that they're "MINING" for free on their phone would give them huge money. TBH, there's no free money at all, and if there is at least you need to spend a few bucks in order to get a token worth hundreds of dollars (airdrops). Mining with your phone, and do nothing? Does that even exist at all? Nah, I don't think so. The last project that did the same thing was Electroneum way back in 2018, but it wasn't sustainable at all hence, they stopped the free money through mining on their app.

Is this a scam? Well, many are saying that it's a scam (including me), but it will not be a scam unless it will become one. After all, the project isn't asking for money from investors. What they're asking only is personal information to continue mining on their app (KYC). The project has been full of hype ever since 2021, and it has been until now. Well, the token isn't up until now, and I don't think that it will, but this is the project that I will avoid for sure.
186  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Cutting my gambling costs to Invest some of it on the Alt and Meme Coins. on: March 31, 2024, 04:03:18 PM
~
So I'd only Invest on these Meme and the Alt Coins with my at stake funds supposing to be funded on my gambling. So I'd rather skip or cut my gambling stakes so that I can alternate it to Invest of the unreliable Coins which I'd also say to be it's highily risky to be sighted as gambling too.
Well, I guess I can assume that you're a hardcore gambler, eh.

Instead of investing all of your gambling funds into a top coin like Bitcoin or Ethereum, you choose to invest it into meme coins and other risky coins out there. Well, it's kind of a gambling like you said, but I guess your chances of winning when you're investing instead of just gambling your funds is a bit higher.

I guess you know the risks of it already, so good luck with your investment journey, and I hope that you will get profits in your meme coin investment. Meme coins are very risky for me, that I don't want to put so much money into it. You said that you're a gambler as well and it seems that you don't want to invest into top coins because of the lower potential profits. Maybe can you share the meme coins that you're planning to invest your money with. Smiley
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 29, 2024, 03:57:58 PM
Some surprising type games last night.  What is up with the Celtics losing a prime time game against an undermanned Hawks team??  I know they can lose any game but that one was bad.  They lose weird games

And tonight the Knicks play and keep rolling.  Sitting in the 3 hole with the Bucks losing there is a real shot they can take the 2 spot.  Weirdly enough if they won the first round I'd rather they faced the Celtics in the second round then the Bucks (assuming they both won).  Knicks could never figure out how to contain giannis and its a bad matchup.  Either way excited for the last but of the season to wrap up.
Murray transformed into "Kobe Bryant" (RIP) on that game. Scoring 44 points in 45 shots, and hitting the game winner to upset the Celtics not once, but twice. Cheesy
Now the problem with the Celtics is slowly appearing. They don't have somebody that can make better decisions at the end of the game. TBH, with this lose, I'm starting to have doubts with the Celtics right now. I mean how they can lose twice to an undermanned Hawks? How they can compete in the playoffs if they play like this.

As for the Knicks, they are only 1.5 games behind the Bucks, and they don't even have Anunoby and Randle on the team because of injuries. I guess it's good that Hart, and DiVicenzo started to step up offensively. In times Brunson needed help on offense, these 2 players stepped up. Credits to Coach Thibs. Smiley I hope that both of them will play like this during the playoffs as well.

I just want to bring up how the LA Clippers are in a doom even though they're in the 4th spot. Just so you know, the Clippers are 1-9 against playoff teams since Feb. 6th. In their 10 remaining games, 6 of those are against playoff teams. They are only 0.5 games above the 5th seeded Pelicans, and only 2.5 games above the Suns. If the so-called "Clippers curse" continues, they might be in trouble. I just hope that their lose streak against playoff teams will be over because they need to have a better standing come playoffs.

I guess we can all stay that the top 3 spots from the West will be a fight between Denver, Oklahoma City, and Minnesota. Smiley

Re: are you expecting Bitcoin to hit $400,000 after the bull run.
NO.
It will not happen.

The upside for Bitcoin is way lesser than altcoins. Some altcoins can go x3 or even x4 during the bull run, but Bitcoin alongside Ethereum will only have at most x2. In short, my prediction with Bitcoin's peak price this bull run will be at around $140,000-$150,000. I don't see Bitcoin hitting the $400,000 price at least during this bull run. Maybe in the future bull runs. Smiley

I'm looking at the market that this is the right to buy and hold after the bull run then you sell and make your triple profit.
Well, this can be a good time to buy still, but the perfect time was during the bear market where everything is on a discount. Now, the market has went up x2 already, and people who risked their money and bought coins when the market is down are the ones who are sitting with a huge profit currently.

Triple your money if you buy this time? Maybe if you will buy lower market cap altcoins because they tend to multiply even more compare to those who has a higher market cap. You can triple your money maybe if you will buy coins that are outside the top 100 in terms of market cap. If you will buy Bitcoin or Ethereum, you can only double your money at most.
189  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who can you trust more to handle your business, man or woman? on: March 29, 2024, 02:51:02 PM
* If you intend to start your business or you already do and are looking for the best candidate to fill the top management position, would you trust a man or a woman to handle the affairs of the business?

* What reasons would you suggest are right, for picking and trusting a particular gender to handle a top management position of your business?
At least you know the term "gender equality" right? I'm not a businessman, but is gender more important than skills, and attitudes already?
Well, to answer your question, I will trust who's more trustworthy, and who's more skillful between the two, and I will not base on the gender at all.

Is there any business out there who is basing more on the gender rather than their skills? Because if there is then I hope that their HR will be replaced immediately. Let's not discriminate people here because let's be honest. In a company, both men and women can handle job just fine. It will all depend on how good they are at the position they are applying at. Men or women doesn't matter. Skills, and attitudes matters even more.

Let's not spread discrimination here. Smiley
190  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Bitcoin staking on: March 29, 2024, 02:08:36 PM
interested in hearing about reputable Bitcoin staking services, user experiences, and potential returns. Any insights or recommendations from the community would be greatly appreciated!
"Bitcoin staking" isn't applicable on Bitcoin because it's a POW and now a POS.
However, you can earn Bitcoin through different exchanges. There are some exchanges like Binance that are offering a certain % for those who will store, and keep their Bitcoins on their exchange.

Is this recommendable? No, because like what others are saying, it's never safe to store your assets on exchanges unless you're selling it. Storing it on an exchange for a long time could cause you losses. If you want to earn more using your Bitcoin, why not just buy other staking reward tokens like ETH, ADA, DOT, ATOM, and many more.

Beware OP as well because there might be some users here lurking, will try to PM you, and will attempt to scam you.
191  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Sam Bankman Fried (scam banker fraud) 25 years on: March 29, 2024, 01:33:39 PM
I watched somewhere on the news where the parent made a statement, “We are heartbroken and will continue to fight for our son.” Is it that they don't know that their son is guilty or what, or are they using the love they have for their child to blind themselves to what's right?
Welcome to America. Where people will act like they did not do anything. Where people will act like their son/daughter/relative didn't do anything against other people. Cheesy
Kidding aside, both of his parents are experts, and correct me but one of them or both of them are lawyers but nevertheless, they can say that they will continue to fight for their son, but it has been served already.

Justice has been served? For 25 years, I think that it wasn't enough, but it's the judge's decision so.. I guess those who lost their money in the FTX fiasco must accept it. The question is when they will start to pay the $11 Billion dollar forfeiture that will be paid to those investors. Now that a crypto project owner has been sentenced to jail because of his fraudulent activities, I hope that this will create a domino effect towards other projects and will think twice if they will try and do what FTX also did or not. I mean we've seen Celsius, Gemini, Bitconnect way back 2018 and now FTX. I hope that there will be less and less scenarios like this that will happen in the future.

25 years for me isn't enough, but as long as the investors who lost their money will be repaid then it's all good. Smiley
192  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: advice for a beginner on: March 27, 2024, 05:41:06 PM
Hello, I'm a new trader. I started a month ago. I deposited $100, and now I've lost $40. Any advice for me? I watched some YouTube videos and found a technical analysis video which helped a lot. I started not losing as much. Sometimes I even earn. But even though, I feel so lost. Like every day, I see some random coins get boosted. Some people earn from how they know that coin will go up. I'm sorry for my bad English; it's not my first language.
You're a new trader? This is my advice. Don't trade at all. Tongue
Just kidding obviously.

Your 100$ will be lost that's for sure. It's like "You spent 100$ for additional trading experience", and it's worth it "ONLY" if you continue trading. Watching YouTube videos will help you, but it will not help you mold yourself to a point that you will become a good trader. Yes you can learn Technical Analysis on YouTube, but the thing is, it doesn't teach you how to control yourself or be patient. If you really want to trade, expect that you will spend money in learning just the basics of trading. I don't know if that's the case to everyone, but for me, I lost dollars when I was starting to trade just to learn.

My advice? Don't expect too much knowing that you're still a newbie, but expect that your 100$ will be lost since this is your first time. Just continue trading if you want to pursue it, keep some capital, learn with your experiences, and learn TA as well.

Re: Are you still buying altcoins??
Yes, and I will continue to buy altcoins until the Bitcoin halving happens.

I believe that a few weeks after the halving event, we will see the whole crypto market starting to go up in price already like what it is doing in the past 2 cycles. At that time, it still is a good time to buy, but your profit is much lower already. At the end of the day, we have different strategies, but as long as we get profit in our investment then it's all good. Some prefer going all in and buying during the bear market, and will be patiently waiting for the bull run to happen then they'll sell during that time.

Some might buy at the start of the bull market still, and end up getting profit depending on when they will sell, but there will be some investors who are a bit unfortunate to loss money during the bear market because they will be FOMOed, and most of them are newbie investors. Investing in altcoins is more risky but very exciting because you can at least double or even triple your money because it's more volatile than Bitcoin. Smiley
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2024 NBA Season on: March 27, 2024, 04:32:26 PM
The Boston Celtics had a legendary regular season and are now 57-14. I think it's risky to bet on their last matches, because they can rest the main players to enter the play-offs fresh. They still have a solid team because their rotation is wide, they can win the remaining matches, but you need to look at the odds carefully before placing a bet. Everyone from Tatum to Kornet played well during the season. I see their way to the finals in the East open. In any case, the teams in the East other than Boston are almost very close to each other, both in terms of strength and winning percentage.
In the last 2 years, the Celtics have been one step away from getting that title, but come up losing in the end.

In 2022, they've reached the NBA Finals, but lost miserably to the Warriors in 6 games. Last season, they're only one win away from facing the Nuggets in the NBA Finals, but just because of an injury early in the game, that changed everything and lost in Game 7 by a huge margin. I just hope that this year will be the year for them. The expectations are way beyond for this team, and I hope that they will really reach the NBA Finals. They might be a dominant team in the regular season, but like I always said, one injury from an all-star can change everything, and it happened to them last year. Just look at the Bucks last season. Cheesy They're the best example of "being a dominant team in the regular season" but got eliminated in the first round by the Heat.

I can’t believe the Suns lost to the Spurs and they didn’t even have Wemby. It is nights like tonight that make me think Phoenix just doesn’t have what it takes to make it to the Finals. A night like tonight against one of the worst teams in the league without their star player should be an easy win every time. Concerning that they couldn’t get it done.
Correct me, but I think that the Suns are 0-3 against them this regular season.
What I remember is that, their 2nd game is also a close one as well, and it's the same as this one. With this loss by the Phoenix, they're again on the play-in tournament spot (8th and tied with the Kings).

You know what's worse? Their remaining 10 games are against teams that are fighting for a spot. No eliminated teams. Just playoff teams. 2x against Minnesota, New Orleans, Clippers, and the rest are against Denver, Cleveland, Sacramento and Oklahoma City. TBH, I have a bad feeling about this, and they might even drop down to the 9th spot knowing that the Lakers are on a winning streak again.  Huh Huh

Re: how long do we think memecoins narrative is going to last ?
There's no specific time on when it will last, and no one can tell when it will happen.

Narrative you mean hype right? Because if that's the case then it can happen anytime. Remember when Elon Musk just promoted DOGE out of nowhere? Nobody expected it to happen. The meme coin narrative right now is kind of expected though since Solana has been the most popular coin on the internet for the past months, and because of this, there are many meme coins that are being created and unsurprisingly, some of them pumped up in price already.

On the other hand, this is the reason why I don't recommend buying, and holding meme coins for a long period of time. It's because most of these meme coins are very risky because of how it's price pumps. Most of them have no use-case at all, and most of them are purely driven by hype. When the hype is gone, only a few of them will survive, and most will fall leaving the investors with a huge amount of losses. Overall, the narratives around meme coins has no specific time frame, but if you want to invest on it, just beware as always. Smiley

Hi there to all of you. I haven't been active on this forum  due to the demanding nature of my work as an interior decorator. However, recently, I've noticed that bitcoin is rising in value on the global market, and this has my interest in Bitcoin. I would like to know how people typically manage to balance their offline and online work, and how I can adjust to this.
Time management is a skill trust me, and I didn't know how to master it until I tried to do many things in a day.
Imagine me working 8 hours from my day job, then spending at most 3 hours in this forum, then spending another 3 hours playing my favorite MMORPG game (PokeMMO), 4 hours spending time with my family then 6 hours sleep. That's my daily routine, and of course everything can change like I give some time to exercise or going out, etc.

Sometimes, you need to make some adjustments with what you're doing daily. Give time to what gives you the most money. If your offline work gives you more income than your online work, focus on it first, then if you feel that you have some free time to work online then do it. Which work gives you the most income? Your work as an interior decorator, or your work online (whatever it is)? Anyway, pardon me with this one, but I just don't want people who only come when Bitcoin's price is increasing. I mean you can just give at least a few minutes of your time visiting the market, or at least keep yourself updated with the crypto market right? Why re-join when it's going up in price only? What if it goes down again? You will be out again? Cheesy

Anyway, work balance is really hard at first, but like I said, focus on ones that will give you the most income. Maximize your time, and sometimes, sacrificing something in order to be productive in the other one is a good decision to make as well.
197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are NFTs just marketing gimmicks with no added value? on: March 25, 2024, 06:37:13 PM
When it comes to blockchain-based NFTs, I'm trying to answer one question: why?
~
We both have the same question. Why?

It's just a junk of pixels that are put together to form a picture. I still remember somebody from I think Indonesia where he minted his own pictures as an NFT, and to my surprise, those pictures of him sold for ETH. I don't know the exact amount of ETH he got at that time, but at least he got a minimum of 10. Just imagine, anybody can just create their own JPEGs and JPGs and then sell it to anybody who thinks that it has a value.

Speaking of value, I guess I look at these JPEGs and JPGs as just pictures with no values at all, but as long as there is somebody that thinks that it has a value then he will definitely buy it. For me, these pictures are just worthless... or at least not worth an Ethereum or whatever, but no monetary value. Most of them are just scams trying to lure people to invest into their junk JPEGs.

Nah, the Warriors dynasty are long gone. Their small ball play don't work anymore. Now, they are on the brink of being eliminated even in the play-in tournament. The Rockets are red hot winning 9 of their last 10 games and now they are on 8-game winning streak, while the Warriors are on a 2-game losing streak. The Rockets could've surely make it if Sengun wasn't injured, but I also think they can actually make it to the play-in this year. The Warriors have a tough schedule ahead that could potentially extend the number of losses.
The Lakers on the other hand may have already secured their spot in the play-in after winning 3 consecutive games and established a comfortable lead ahead the Warriors in the 9th seed.
Well, I'm a Warrior fan, and I will also say that the dynasty is over already.

The dynasty gave the Warriors 4 titles so, I guess that's a huge achievement for them already. Small ball set-up still works, but with the current rosters of the team today, it's hard, and the Warriors had a small line-up, but their offense is one of the best a few years ago, and Green is their best defender at that time, and he's an excellent defender of the paint that's why it worked for them.

Currently, the remaining games of the Rockets are somewhat better than that of the Warriors, and as much as I want the Warriors to at least stay on that 10th spot, it seems like their chances of staying on that spot is slowly withering away, and the Rockets are coming to take it. Right now, the Rockets have the momentum with their winning streak while the Warriors on the other hand, is on a losing streak. I hope that they will recover from this slump, and gain some momentum again with only 12 games remaining.

Taxes?

Bitcoin  was and will never be a scam
Bitcoin itself isn't a scam, but Bitcoin is a tool that's being used by scammers to scam newbie investors.

Let's face it, as much as we've seen Bitcoin going up in price these past few years, there will still be people who will think that Bitcoin is a scam probably because they got scammed maybe through an investment that these scammers are offering or whatever it is. Let the people think what they want because at the end of the day, we can't control what they think. Instead of focusing on them, just focus on yourself, and your investment. Focus on grow, and don't focus on them. We will not benefit from them.
