641  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Illuvium (ILV) price increase after news with Gamestop on: November 10, 2023, 01:17:36 AM
The trend will not be the same, but there will be some who will still be operational despite not being on the trend anymore.
Hype is long gone.

Well as for the news, it's pretty common that we see a short spike after some good news from projects. Just look at Ethereum's price right now just after Blackrock announced that they are applying for its spot ETF. It surged and surpassed the $2100. Of course both projects are different, but I'm just saying that any good news mean price increase for every project.

It may a bit better if illuvium will able to be listed on steam instead of epicgames.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but as far as I can remember, Steam don't allow NFT games on their platform, aren't they? Please don't criticize me. Smiley
642  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTT Token on: November 10, 2023, 01:05:06 AM
hi ,
my brother like most of Americans invested in FTT , what do you feel the future of FTT now ? Will it die a slow death ?
TBH, I thought that the project would be long gone after what happened to them. I didn't expect that somebody will act as another CEO, and will try to save the project in John J. Ray III.

Will it be the same again as what it was at first? Obviously no. Will the trust of the investors be regained after what happened? Probably because it seems like there are still investors who are investing in FTT tokens for some unknown reasons. It's kind of stupid that they tried to scam you, but you still choose to trust them because... I don't know. Probably some might not know the past of the project, and they just invested into it blindly.

Future of the token, and the project? It will slowly die I guess. What happened in Terra Luna, and FTX are different, but both projects became very unpopular now after what happened to them. Both of them still have community though even though they tried to scam their investors which is for me, very absurd and ridiculous. I will not touch this project, and it's a good thing that I didn't touch it because I'm thinking of doing it a few years ago when it's still at it's peak.
643  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Lost of my capital has made me to have a change of mind about Bitcoin . on: November 09, 2023, 08:20:20 AM

However, my question here is ' what is the best strategy to trade without losing my initial capital ?.
Please friends I need advice and answers to this question because I know we have crypto experts here in the forum who will assist me and also educate me on what I need to know about Bitcoin trading .Thanks .
You're on the right track. You did research that will help you, and as a newbie, you did download some apps that will help you understand trading. You undergo this kind of stress, and all of us experienced it as well.
You know what's the problem with you? YOUR EXPECTATION.

You expected so much that you think that you will gain profit because you got stressed doing some in-depth research. It doesn't work that way OP. If it's that easy to gain profit in trading, all of us must've been rich by now. You expected that if you will spend some time doing research, and go trading, you will automatically gain profit. That's how the game works OP. Smiley Now you understand how hard it is to gain profit through trading. You did do some research, but I guess it isn't enough. If you really want to be a successful trader, spend more time, and learn more. Smiley

The best strategy to trade without losing any capital? There's NONE. If there is, like I said all of us must've been rich by now. In investing, there's no such thing as "GUARANTEED PROFIT". Trading is considered investing, and in investing, there are no guaranteed profits, so there will be times that you will incur losses. Unfortunately, no one will give you the "BEST STRATEGY" that you're asking because there's no one existing.
644  Economy / Economics / Re: How Much Does Food Cost in Your Country? on: November 09, 2023, 07:17:43 AM
In the Philippines, the average salary is about $300 to $400
~
So it is advisable here in the Philippines, if you have a partner, both of you should work to afford above minimum salary meals, save before having a child.
Thanks for this one. I would like to ask some questions.
1. Which part of the region pays $300-400$? If you are talking about our highest minimum wage which is in NCR, I did calculate, and converted it, and if you worked for 24 days, you will only get roughly $244.74 (that's based on the current PHP/USD conversion).
2. Are you living in the NCR or in the province? Because I have a relative living in NCR, and he said that the average house rent there is more or less $200. I don't know if there's any house owner in the NCR that's renting their house for $80 per month. Correct me though.

Food cost in our country is different in every region.

1. If you live in an urban area like NCR here in the Philippines, it will be hard for you to survive if you only have one source of income in your family because the prices of food out there are so damn high. From meat to milk, to vegetables, to rice, etc. I can't say a specific amount how much a family spends on food on a daily basis since I don't live in an urban area, but if I'll estimate it, the lowest would be at least 10$ per day, Of course, it will depend on some factors like how many are you in your family, where did you buy it, etc., etc.

2. Now if you're living in a rural area, or let's say a province like me, the cost of food might be lower, and it's because you can just plant in your backyard. In an urban area, I'm not saying it's impossible to plant, but it's harder than in the rural areas where they have large backyards where they can just plant any seed that they want. If you're industrious, and you have many vegetables planted in your area, that decreases that food cost since you didn't buy it. In some agricultural areas, some farmers don't buy rice because they have their own rice fields where they can just plant rice there. TBH, in rural areas, the amount of food that you can spend is more than half less than it is in urban areas.

Food cost in our country differs depending on what area you are living, but having only 1 source of income nowadays isn't enough to support a whole family of 3 unless that 1 source of income is giving you 6-digit income per month.
645  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you know about the first public servant paid in bitcoin ? on: November 09, 2023, 03:42:25 AM
His name was Tony Vaughn and he was from Kentucky. He was paid his salary in bitcoin in 2013 , at time when very few even heard about bitcoin. If he would have not sold those bitcoins that he got as salary, he would might have been a billionaire by now. Because bitcoin price at that time was just $1000 a piece , so his wealth would have been about 30 times at current prices.
Well, it's his salary, and we are working because we have daily needs. It's his salary, so he doesn't have any choice but to sell it.

Another one is we are always thinking of "If he holds it for X number of years." or "He must've been rich by now if he held it." I mean let's face the reality guys. Do we know at that time that the price of Bitcoin will be reaching its current price right now?

In the end, it's only a matter of trust, and if we need it or not. I've been in signature campaigns for years already, and most of my earnings are converted because a portion of it is being used for some monthly needs of our home. I also used I guess around 0.08 BTC to build my own computer. Just imagine how much it would be if I chose to hold it until now. I can't imagine how many BTC I already converted into fiat.

I guess let's forget about this "He would've..." or "He must've been..." things right now because we don't know what can happen in the future.

To use the Binance Web3 Wallet Services, you must first have an existing Binance Account.

Quote
The Binance Web3 Wallet is using MPC technology and therefore there is no private key or seed phrase required. You will not be able to export or import a private key or seed phrase.
I guess these 2 alone are enough already to say that this is just like other custodial wallets out there.

You need your account, and there are no private keys whatsoever. It's almost the same as storing your coins in their exchange right? I mean what's the purpose of this one if you can just simply store your wallet in Binance? Their copy-trading feature is more attractive than this wallet crap that they just released. Cheesy

Will not touch it and I don't want to store my coins in whatever exchange it is, even on Binance. Not your keys, not your coins. Better to store it in a hardware wallet.
647  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 09, 2023, 02:38:14 AM
The Timberwolves are making the Pelicans look dumb tonight. They’ve got a 30 point lead in the 3rd quarter. I guess the Pelicans need Zion on the floor, but he’s having his first kid tonight which is definitely more important.

The Lakers are embarrassing themselves against the Rockets as well. Rui is the only guy on the squad doing anything.
Not having their 2 all-star players, Williamson, and McCollum really is a big problem for them.

The Pelicans not having Williamson on most parts of the regular season last year already made them look like an average team, and they went from first to barely reaching the play-in tournament. Not having 2 of their best players, and letting Ingram do it alone is a problem for them. Well, kid > a few games, so I guess it's understandable. As for CJ, I wish him the best, and I hope his lung injury isn't that serious.

As for the Lakers, not having Davis really is a problem for them as well... or not. We can say that the Lakers have the problem, but at the same time, we can also say that the Rockets might just be better this season because of their new coach Ime Udoka. We know what the capabilities of this coach are, and if only he didn't have an issue, he might still be the coach of the Celtics right now. Now he's back but with another team. With their new coach and new players, I expect the Rockets to be better now than last season. Will they be clinching the playoffs? I don't think so, but they might reach the play-in tournament... or not. Cheesy

Adebayo being overshadowed but he just put up an impressive number "under the radar" against the Lakers. It's his best performance so far.
- 22 Points
- 20 Rebounds
- 10 Assists

I think the future of the Heat rest on his shoulders. He is as important to the team as Buttler so hopefully he remains consistent and produce double-double every game.

That is a monster performance. That’s the game that Anthony Davis sat out the second half because of a groin spasm right? Funny enough social media was calling it a boner… I digress. That performance shows how weak the Lakers are without Davis in the middle and with him being so injury prone, they’re pretty weak with him. They should’ve traded him two years ago.
Boner made my day. Cheesy It made me laugh really hard  Cheesy Cheesy

Anyway, as for Davis being traded, there are many including me who wants him to be out of the Lakers a few years ago because of how injury-prone he is, but I guess he proved last season that he can still be one of the best centers "when healthy". Is he healthy last season? Well, yes he's less injury-prone that he is a few years ago. Did a quick research, and he's questionable in their next game against the Rockets alongside their another big in Hayes. Many are optimistic for the Lakers this season, and that they will be at a higher rankings compare to what they get last season, but right now, they're 3-4.

If they traded him a few years ago, who will they get as another big? Can you think of somebody that is a center as well who can play the same or even better than Davis?

Re: How do you cope with those around you not believing in you for choosing Bitcoin?
I do nothing.

I guess this is the good thing when you're not sharing any of your investment to anybody especially to your relatives. They might know that I'm into Bitcoin, but they don't know how much I invested on, and I guess there's no reason for them to know. I don't know their reaction if they will just ignore it or what, but if they will be a hindrance to my investment journey, I will not think twice, but to just ignore them, or will not speak to them at all, but before doing that, I will try and educate them as long as they are interested into it. I remember one of my relatives asked regarding Bitcoin. Did ask a few questions, answered it correctly, and I don't know if he invested on it or not, but I'm happy to guide him if needed.

Like you said, negativity must be removed if you want to be a successful one.

I have 8k worth of crypto how to invest

This amount to get 10 or 20$ per day safe methods

I tried future trading and lost

Is there any methods related to crypto or something else
And i dont want to invest in altcoins or buying
It's kind of funny that you sound like you're desperate to earn money that you even created a thread like this here.
Maybe the reason is you lost huge amount of money doing futures trading. You lost your money trading, and that's why you're here. You're here to ask for a quick way to earn as high as 20$ per day, and take note that in a safe way.

The safest way that I can see to earn on a daily basis is thru staking. I don't recommend this one, but there are tokens out there who are giving as high as 20-30% staking reward, but those are the most riskiest coins. The safe ones only give as high as 10% or even lower. This way isn't safe as well because you might still incur losses thru capital depreciation, so I don't recommend doing this one unless you know what you're doing.

Is what you want possible? To have 10$-20$ per day? Yes, but you need to have a huge amount of money in order for it to happen. I don't want to calculate, but at least you need a 5-digit capital if you want to earn 10$ per day on a 10% annual interest. Basically, what you want is impossible. You want to earn on a daily basis, but you want it to be as safe as possible? Just think of another way.
651  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 07, 2023, 07:07:10 AM
~
But in my opinion, I think that one is not still supposed to be in financial crisis at age 30–35. I mean, at age 30, one should be in a financial state where they can fend for themselves and their family if the person is married. The person is supposed to have had at least one or two financial sources that they can always see as reliable sources of income.

It's always wise and profitable to start saving and investing at a young age, like 18 years old.
I started to learn cryptocurrency a few months after I graduated from college. I guess I'm lucky that I engaged myself into investing at a young age (early 20's). I mean compare to those older people who don't even know what investing is, or they don't even invest all throughout their lives.

Currently, I can say that I'm in a state now where money will not be a problem for us anymore like others out there. I just went on to a 2 week vacation in an urban area. I travelled too much at that time, and the more I travel, the more beggars I see in the streets, and I can't help but ask myself "What if they just learn how to use their money wisely? Will their lifestyle be the same as they are now?" Kind of sad to see them, but I'm just thinking that it's destined for them, and it's the result of their wrong decisions in life.

There's no right age for financial stability because we have different lifestyles. Some might get it at a younger age, some might get it an older age, but one thing's for sure though, if you want to change your life thru saving, and investing, you need to have these. Time, and consistency. The younger you invested, the more you can gain since time is on your side, but it will still be useless if you aren't investing consistently. As for me, with my current lifestyle, I guess I can say that at my early age of 26, I'm financially stable already. Smiley

3. What if the Black Swan event of this present bear market was the FTX Collapse?

What if the first one ( 2020 crash ) was an unexpected crash to manipulate the masses and the Second one is to make people keep waiting and waiting for something that's not coming until it's too late?

Events like the FTX Collapse (anyway f*ck you SBF, and you deserved being jailed for 115 years), only has a short term effect in the markets.

When COVID struck the world, and every country went to lockdown, people panicked, and so does the market, but after that, it went up, and up, and up, until we've seen it going to as high as ~$69,000. As for the FTX collapse, it might be the final event that might cause the market to dump before going higher, and higher again, but who knows. Maybe the Blackrock Spot Bitcoin ETF application being rejected would have a much greater impact not only in the crypto market, but all of the markets than the FTX collapse.

Well, anything can happen in the market, and that's the reason I always think that there's a chance that what happened in the past might not happen in the future. After all, past performances doesn't mean the same in the future. Criticize me, but I'm a believer of the 4-year cycle because I've seen it happen twice. I just don't expect too much on it though, and I'm always ready if the other thing happens. Cheesy
653  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 07, 2023, 05:47:29 AM
It looks like the Dame Lillard move to the Bucks doesn't go well early this season. They had way better defensive and offensive ranking last season with Jrue Holiday in the roster.
Dame is one of the worse defender, but he could be an offensive weapon, but it has not translated to their current standing yet. It's kind of interesting because Jrue Holiday has the best offensive rating and the best team currently. Let's who really wins this trade lol.
That's the problem with Dame. He is one of the best shooters currently in the league, but in terms of defense, he's one of the worst.
I can't blame the management though in getting Dame for Jrue because if they will not make a big move, there's a huge chance that Giannis will be out in Milwaukee next season, so it's either lose him, or trade somebody. Jrue is more of an all-around type of player while Dame focuses more on offense.

It's just the start of the season though. Their performance in their first 10 games will not dictate their performance in the remaining 72 games. We've seen teams who are at the top, but just because of one injury, or losing streaks, they ended up being at the bottom, and vice-versa

Seems that we will have a good game at hand, Knicks vs LA Clippers and then Lakers vs the Heat.

How about the Spurs vs. Pacers game? The fourth quarter just ended, and it was too easy a win for the Pacers, as they finished with a 41-point lead. By the way, the Pacers grabbed 60 rebounds in this game, while the Spurs collected only 42 rebounds. Looks like the Spurs players were completely helpless in the paint since there was such a big difference in rebounds.

Wemby got BLOCKED!!!!

They lost by a huge lead on the road, and it's their 2nd consecutive loss already. I don't know, but it seems like other teams are starting to make a way to stop that alien already. I mean not stop completely, but to lessen his efficiency at least. It's too early to say though, but let's see in their remaining games.

Finally, the Celtics got their first season loss. The Celtics collapsed in overtime. Not gonna lie I'm surprised that the Wolves beat the Nuggets and the Celtics! The Wolves have handed two undefeated teams their first loss. It's awesome to be a Timberwolves fan. ANT can be MIP dis season. What do you think 🤔
I don't care about the Celtics having their first loss of the season (because eventually they will get it).
What I care about is  Rudy Gobert, and his reaction after being posterized by Jaylen Brown. I feel bad for the big guy TBH. Last season it was Russ when he's still in the Lakers, and now early in the regular season, he got postered again by Brown this time. I expect more in the future. Cheesy DUNK OF THE YEAR candidate.

ANT for MIP? I guess it's too early to say, and there will be some players out there who are more deserving than him. After all, he's making that numbers since his rookie season already. If I will pick somebody for MIP today, it would be Cam Thomas, and not him.
654  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What's your thoughts about potential newly borned coins during the bear market? on: November 07, 2023, 02:42:57 AM

For me, it is advisable to invest but not take financial advice.
1. ARB
2. PEPE
TBH, I'm thinking of investing into ARB a few months ago, and I have the money at that time. What prevented me from doing it is the fact that, it's tokens are being given to people thru an airdrop, and all the time, those who got it for free will just sell it immediately, so basically for them it's free money. I waited for a long time, hoping that it will reach below a dollar. Well, it went below for quite some time, but I don't have money at that time anymore because I invested it into another asset already.

As for PEPE, I hate shitcoins. Like I really hate them so much because of the fact that many meme coins are being created just to scam people. Yes there are some who are making profits investing into it, and some who became rich investing into it, but how many investors lost their money just because they choose to invest into these meme coins rather than investing into safer, and established cryptocurrencies? We have a choice to invest into safer coins, but we choose to invest into riskier, and a shitcoin like PEPE who doesn't have any use case at all.

Thoughts? I will not talk anymore about PEPE, but for ARB, it's ATH is around $8.6 base on Coingecko. There might be a chance that it might reach that price again or even surpassing during the bull market, but there's a chance that it might not be just like what happened to EOS. Their potential? ARB is a good token, and will surely go up in it's price during the bull market. Same might happen with PEPE, but will not touch that shitcoin.
655  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and misinformation on: November 07, 2023, 02:05:18 AM
Bitcoin as the father of all cryptocurrency have hard it ups and down since it came into existence, but what I observe lately is the misinformation about Bitcoin that got me worried like in this time and age, people still take Bitcoin as a scam.
Addressing Bitcoin as a "Father" or a "King" is somewhat nonsense for me.
I mean why address it like it's a person or what? Father of crypto? I can't help myself, but to laugh. Anyways I will not focus on that one because I agree with what you said that misinformation in the internet is at it's peak right now.

There are still newbies out there who are still getting scammed because of misinformation. There are newbies out there who look Bitcoin as a scam because of misinformation. There are still newbies out there who don't want to invest into Bitcoin because they believe that it's a scam. Why? Because they absorbed information from the wrong so-called gurus, or influencers whatever you want to call to them.

I wouldn't deny that in my early days of investment, I really was unconvinced by the presentation i had about Bitcoin, which I took it as one of these fraudster trying to milk the general public as mmm did, but with time, after doing some research and finding I discovered how misinformed I was about it.
It's pretty common nowadays especially when you're a newbie that you will experience the same thing you experienced. The good thing about you is that, you did your own research yourself, and saw that everything, or at least most of what they said to you was false. Those fraudsters will try to milk those newbies as many times as they want until they don't have money left. As long as there are newbies, there will always investors who will get scammed.

the best I do for them right now is to educate them about it, which some even told me what they think Bitcoin was, which is totally untrue about it.
Well, educating them is the way to go, but be careful with the information that you're sharing to them because there might be times where what you're sharing to them are wrong. I guess just continue with what you're doing, and thanks for sharing the correct information to newbies out there. Smiley

Is there some group which collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? If some group like this can create advertisements for Bitcoin, more people can become aware. Such mediums should be targeted which have reach on audience that is still not familiar with crypto.
The question is "Do we really need to?"

I mean Bitcoin become popular without any promotion except from it's supports who are constantly promoting it for "FREE". Group that collects funds for Bitcoin promotion? That sounds more of a scam to me TBH, or if not, it will not be used properly. I'm not against it, but for me, we don't need it. We don't need a central authority to focus on the marketing side of Bitcoin. After all, it's a currency, not a product or service whatsoever.

Let's just focus on what it is I guess. Let us, Bitcoin supporters promote it "FOR FREE". We don't need a group of people to promote it because we can do it ourselves right? Let the developers maintain it, and we as supports do our thing. Cheesy

  • I turned my apartment into a shared one, meaning I got a flatmate and used the money paid to buy more Bitcoins.
  • No more buying new clothes, shoes, phones, or electronic devices. No more eating out. I'll cook all my meals. The money saved will be used to buy more Bitcoins.
  • This month, I'm selling off my car and I'll start using the train for commuting to work or any other essential place. Therefore, unless it is absolutely necessary, my social life is going to suffer for a little while. This delay of gratification is worth it.
  • I didn't renew my gym membership. I purchased some dumbbells and barbells to start working out from home. The money supposed to be spent on the gym membership will be used to buy more Bitcoins.
Thanks for this list of yours. Now I'm kind of motivated to be frugal for the moment so that I can prepare myself for the "supposed" bull run that will happen a few months after the halving.

I will not share any list or anything that I will do just to have money to be used to buy Bitcoin, but I have some ideas that I can do right now to start. I also said "supposed" bull run because I always think that there's always a time that it might not happen for some reasons. After all, the market is unpredictable. I might be selling things that I don't need right now to have some funds to buy Bitcoin. Cheesy

I plan to reward myself with the profit by:
~
How do you plan to make the most of your Bitcoin investments before the halving in 6 months?
How will I reward myself after selling all of my Bitcoins during the bull run.

We are currently making our own home with my partner. I guess that alone will be an enough reward for me already. I mean having your own home means more security, and more comfort isn't it? In terms of material things, if there's still some funds, I will try and upgrade my current personal computer because until now, I'm still using a low-end type of computer. How to I plan? I guess just accumulating as long as you have spare money would be the good strategy at least for me.

I just want to ask a question OP. What's your basis why you said that your Bitcoin investments will double after the halving? Or you just claim that it will because of your optimistic thinking towards the market?

Well, that's my initial prediction.
I predict that Bitcoin will reach as high as $40,000 this year, and even as high as $45,000 though this is just me being too optimistic with Bitcoin a few months before the halving happens.

One big news, and it might push it's price even higher. That's what I'm thinking right now. We didn't even know that the "TICKER SYMBOL" thing will happen, and it pushed it's price upwards. I don't know what can cause Bitcoin to reach $40,000 right now, but maybe something ETF related might do it. Overall, this is just a prediction, and we can't predict the market with 100% accuracy.

Just continue on what you're doing. If you're doing DCA, continue doing it. If you want to buy at once, do it. If you are just waiting for the bull run to happen so you can sell your assets, do it. As for me, I'm just waiting for the bull run to happen so I can sell all of my assets already. Cheesy

A simple yet, important especially when it comes to investing. The only time that you can get profit while countering the trend is... is... I can't think of honestly. I guess when you are trading futures? I don't know, but following the trend will make you more profit. Just imagine we are in a bear market, the trend is down, what will you do? Will you sell all of your assets, or will you buy more since it's going down. Same thing if we are in a bull market. Will you buy assets at it's peak? Or will you sell the assets that you're holding.

I don't see any benefits of countering the trend... or at least in the mid to long term.

The message to newbies has always been the same since the beginning of time. From bitcoin creation to the very time altcoin started to pop up, till the era of NFTs, airdrops and other silly nonsense that shows up to deceive the naive ones. This is the simple message being reiterated -  "Just buy bitcoin and hold your own keys or else you are going to get scammed"

Well, I want to agree on what the OP has advised to us, but it would be better if you indicated in the subject title that this "Simple yet Powerful Message" are only for newbies out there who don't know where to invest their money with.

I believe that newbies really need to focus their money in investing into Bitcoin "ONLY" as it's considered the "SAFE" asset by many people. It might be a safe asset, but I would call it "the safest cryptocurrency you can invest your money with". That would be better, but overall, I guess OP already shared important details that a newbies must know. Focus on Bitcoin first, and be patient.

Now what about those not newbies anymore? Will you still recommend them to just invest only on Bitcoin, and disregards those altcoins out there especially those that are on the top in terms of market cap?
