561  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 09, 2023, 03:57:09 PM
While Chet is enjoying his popularity now, unfortunately, Wemby and his Spurs continues their losing streak.

Yeah, the Spurs have already lost 16 games in a row. It's funny, but that's not even the worst result since the Pistons have already lost 19 games in a row. In any case, it was expected that the Spurs would be uncompetitive this regular season because their roster is too young and inexperienced. Coach Pop will probably need at least 2-3 more seasons to bring these kids up and make them at least a competitive team.
Coach Pop has been in the league for decades already, and I believe that he knows what he's doing. He knows that the Spurs can't compete for the title with his current roster, thus he needs one more high draft pick that's why he's kind of experimenting this season. I also believe that he already said it to Wembanyama that's why he doesn't care about losing streaks whatsoever, but he only cares about his development and experience.

Chet can get that "Rookie of the Year" title, but we know that Wemby is a generational player who has a generational talent, and I believe that in 2 years, he will be the face of the team. What the Spurs need right now is another high draft pick aside from those young players out there, and they're good to go.

As for the Pistons, I don't know what's happening to them. Sorry for my words, but they're just a disgrace. I don't know what's the problem with this team TBH. Consecutive seasons that they're at the bottom, but they can't even have good players on draft night. They got Killian Hayes which is a bust and they also get James Wiseman which is also a bust. I guess it's good that they got Cunningham, and Ausar Thompson, but they will not develop on that team, and they should be traded to develop even more.
562  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Would you pay $1M dollars worth of BTC or USDT for an El Salvadorian passport? on: December 09, 2023, 03:34:33 PM
If El Salvador isn't like any other country out there, and it's like a "UTOPIA" where everything is perfect then I guess I'll save some Bitcoins for it... or not. Cheesy

I'm living in a developing country and that amount of money is already huge for me even though I will work all my life, I might not save that amount of money. I don't see any differences between living in El Salvador and living in another country.

I wonder who will try to do this one? Rich businessmen maybe who want to live in El Salvador? Maybe miners who want to mine there? I mean I can't think of somebody who will spend a million dollars just to be a citizen of that country. Cheesy
563  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Finally I did it (I am happy to join). on: December 09, 2023, 10:52:39 AM
However, that was the best time to buy some Bitcoin, but still, today I have finally bought my first Bitcoin. It is quite hard to do this, but I finally did it.
~
Although I bought my first Bitcoin through a P2P transaction with an exchange wallet, after receiving my first coins I have to resend them to an electrum Bitcoin wallet because it is safer.
Congratulations? I guess. Smiley

You bought ~$1400 worth of Bitcoin through an exchange now on Electrum. I mean what can we say about that? Just take care of your Bitcoins, and if possible, continue buying since you have a business, take a percentage of your profit there and buy different assets, not only Bitcoin. It's always good to see users here starting their investing journey and buying cryptocurrencies.

As for me, I'm continuing to accumulate Bitcoin and other assets in preparation for the upcoming bull run. I know it's still months of even a year away, but still better to invest now than never invest at all. take care of your coins, and if possible, don't just focus on Bitcoin, but buy some altcoins as well. Take note that altcoins tend to move higher than Bitcoin during the bull run. Smiley
564  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Samoyedcoin? on: December 09, 2023, 10:28:22 AM
A unique aspect of Samoyedcoin is its focus on environmental sustainability. The project's website states that a portion of the token's transaction fees goes to reforestation and the project emphasizes the importance of responsible pet ownership and donates to animal welfare organizations.
I'm a dog lover. So much so that I always wanted to help dog shelters out there.

If you want to help those organizations that are focusing on animals, you don't need to create a new project just to have funds. I have a huge empathy when it comes to animals, but they are just using animals to scam people. It's indirect, but you got the point. If you want to help animal organizations, you don't need to create a new project because you can help them in many ways. I love the vision of the project, but since it's a meme coin, I don't want to touch it.

~
I then took a look and this coin has been out for many years already.  The high was about $0.24 and the lowest was $0.001.  Now what exactly made this coin suddenly go up like this recently after being out for few years already?  Is this coin worth trading short term?  But not for holding long term as it probably go to zero pretty much later on?
It's a pump-and-dump coin. Simple as that.
565  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 08, 2023, 10:55:48 AM
Third quarter 43-17. Lakers won easily, they didn't even sweat. Bucks lost so I believe Lakers will win this tournament without showing extra performance. Another unique achievement for LeBron before he retires.
In-season tournament is like local cups in football, it brings more excitement in regular season but I'm not sure if it was necessary and if it attracted enough attention.
Aside from that 3rd quarter rally by the Lakers, I've seen some reasons why the Lakers just destroyed the Pelicans, especially in the 2nd half.
They have no players that can stop Lebron, the Lakers have the size advantage, the Lakers just outrebounded them 59-42.

I just love the fact that the Lakers did acquire big players which is a big help for Davis. I believe that the acquisition of Hayes, and Wood helped them, and let's not forget the fact that they also acquired some wing players like Prince and Reddish aside from Hachimura and Vanderbilt. This is the reason why the Lakers are one of the top rebounding teams right now in the league. They have big and tall players that can outrebound other teams.

As for the Pacers, and Lakers, it's a battle between one of the most offensive team Vs. one of the best rebounding team right now. I already predicted that the Pacers would win against the Bucks a few days ago, and I want my prediction to be 2/2 that's why I will pick the Pacers to win the In-season tournament. Cheesy
566  Economy / Economics / Re: On retirement on: December 08, 2023, 10:30:14 AM
We have different perspectives on retirement.
As for me, my definition of retirement is that you can do everything that you want without any hindrances whatsoever.

Retirement for me doesn't mean that you will stop working because as long as you can still work, as much as possible work for you to get money. Retirement for me means that you can do everything of your own free will. Some want to do something but they can't because they have a 9-5 job. I've seen many old people who are still working even though they are at the age where they can retire because they love what they're doing. That's my other definition of retirement. To do everything that you love of your own free will without thinking of anything that will just make you stressed.

Overall, different people have different definitions of retirement, but if you can still work for some reason then at least work as long as you love what you're doing.

Re: Would it be enough to buy 100 dollars worth of Bitcoin every month?
The word "enough" is a broad term.
I can say that $100 is enough, but there will be some who will say here that it isn't, and vice-versa.

The point here is, what's important is that you are investing. Investing would be much better than just putting it in banks. Yes, your money will be safer there, but you need to risk sometimes for you to get more money. Investing $100 will always be better than not investing at all. Good Luck to you OP. Don't forget to invest, but at the same time focus on your studies as well. Are you worried about missing the bull market? Always take note of this. You will not miss it out as long as you're investing. The ones who will miss it are the ones who aren't investing at all because they're afraid. You are thinking like this because you are kind of pressuring yourself, and thinking about the investment of others out there. Just focus on your investment, and don't compare it with other investors.

You're lucky that you are getting as high as $100 per month because when I was studying at college, I was getting way less amount every month compared to you, so I don't have spare money to save for investing.

Re: Are you feeling FOMO like I am?
FOMO?? Hype?? I've seen the market go to a bull run twice, and it came to a point already where I don't feel anything at all when I see the market going up, and at the same time when it's going down.

I don't feel anything at all. No excitement, no sadness because I feel that I didn't accumulate enough Bitcoin, no disappointment, nothing. I mean I don't know, but I don't feel anything. I'm just waiting for Bitcoin and other altcoins to reach my target selling prices. I'm focusing more on my strategy, and being emotional isn't a part of it. I'm disappointed in myself because I didn't sell all of my assets during the last bull run a few years ago, but this time I will not miss the opportunity anymore.

Bitcoin will reach $100,000. That's a fact, and it's only a matter of when it will happen. It might happen on the next bull run which is highly likely to happen, or it might happen on the next bull run after the upcoming one. No need to get FOMO'ed as of this moment. Focus on your strategy (if you have one). Continue saving money so when the market goes down, you have some money to be used in buying assets at a cheaper price.
570  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's happening with Bitcoin transaction fees? on: December 07, 2023, 06:09:06 AM
Maybe, Fee fees really depend on network density and each exchange also has different withdrawal fee policies. However, if we look at the current conditions, fee fees are only increasing. I tried to test sending BTC which was worth approximately 20 dollars if converted with the requested fee of $13.55 it's already over 50% percent and it's very unnatural. At least, like you said, hold on.
Let's take a look at how the price of Bitcoin continues to soar, this of course will also affect transaction fees for Bitcoin, because the network is getting denser and many transactions need to be confirmed.
But if the increase in transaction fees is due to the increase in Bitcoin or bullish this will only happen temporarily.

Rather than the increase in Bitcoin transactions due to BRC20, it is worse because BRC20 clearly accounts for a lot of transactions so fees are getting more expensive.

See the picture below, Bitcoin transaction fees are indeed increasing

https://bitcoinfees.net/
Reminded me of the transaction fees last 2017 where the fees were almost as high as what it is a few hours ago (currently it's already at $3).
If I remember correctly, transaction fees of Bitcoin in 2017 went to as high as $20 or even higher. This time, the highest that I saw was at around $17.

TBH, I don't know when this will end, and this also reminds me of the NFT hype a few years ago where transaction fees under the Ethereum Blockchain were so insanely high that it came to a point where the transaction fee was higher than the price of the NFT. Overall, I guess the thing that we can do is either wait or pay high gas fees if it's urgent. Using other coins might be a good solution as well.

As for me, what I'm doing is I still put low gas fees instead of paying higher fees because I know that it will go down soon. 40 sat/vB is what I always use when I'm transferring, and even though it takes days for it to be confirmed, it's not urgent so it's still Ok for me. F*ck these ordinals who are making these fees very high.
571  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which good altcoins can I hold along with Bitcoin for the upcoming halving? on: December 07, 2023, 05:54:18 AM
~
I was thinking about ETH, BNB and SOL. But still, I  need recommendations from you guys about the best altcoins to hold for the halving please.
I've seen the market going into a bull run twice (2017 & 2021), and there is one similarity during both bull runs.

Most of the top coins are always going up in price and when I say going up, it means that the price goes double, triple, or even more during the bull run. I mean most of the altcoins go up in price during the bull run, but I think that there will be some altcoins that might not go up in price during the bull run, or at least they will not surpass their previous ATH.

As for OP, those 3 coins that you shared will give you good profits if you only buy them in preparation for the bull run. As for the holding for the long term? I don't think that BNB and SOL are good long-term coins, especially BNB. TBH, I don't believe that exchange coins are good long-term coins because they're always experiencing many hacks over the years, and there might be a chance that a hack can destroy the exchange. As for SOL, the outages in the past made me decide that I would not touch this coin either. As for ETH, it survived many bear market already, and consistently stayed at the 2nd spot in terms of market cap so I guess we can say that it's a good coming to hold for long term.
572  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coin or token with high potential on: December 07, 2023, 03:12:44 AM
Hello,
Thank you so much for your reply.
Good projects whose prices are not high or have a number of zeros.
Is this how investors look at cheap prices now?
The ones who have a higher number of 0's in it are cheap? What if there are no 0s on it? Is it considered expensive then?

It's kind of funny how investors have different factors in how they pick between a good project and a bad project. FYI, a good project doesn't mean having many 0s on it. How about Bitcoin? Ethereum? No 0s in it, but they are considered one of the top cryptocurrencies right now. Change your way of investing OP. Change your perspective. It doesn't matter if the project has a cheap price or it has many 0s. Do your research on the project. Have some bases that will help you pick which are good projects and which are not. Don't focus on the price, but focus on how beneficial it is. The community behind it might help you decide as well, but don't focus on the price of it.

Maybe it would be better if you will just focus on buying Bitcoin, or even Ethereum if you don't have any time to research. Smiley The fact that you're asking here is a sign that you don't want to spend time researching, and you just want to buy tokens base on other's suggestions.
573  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 07, 2023, 02:36:36 AM
Congratulations to the Lakers for winning against the Phoenix Suns, they're unstoppable and consistent this time. They'd be up against the Pelicans tomorrow and this is going to be easy, we'd go for Lakers still.

While on the other side, it's hard to think of Pacers and Bucks. I am a Bucks fan but what Pacers is doing is impressive and I just can't turn my head on them.

But anyway, I'd still go this only for Lakers and whoever wins on the other side, I'd be happy with the result.
I just watched a video a few hours ago (Heat Check) regarding the problem with the Suns right now.
They've shot better than the Lakers (49% for them vs around 30% for the Lakers).

The problem with the Suns is they're allowing their team to get many offensive rebounds, and the Lakers currently are the top in Offensive Rebounds with 14.5 per game. In this game, the Lakers got 21 offensive rebounds which is too many. It seems like the Lakers exposed the Suns' weakness, and that is their big players are just too weak for other teams. TBH, that video is a very good one because knowing that many bettors and NBA fans are rooting for the Suns as their top pick to win the title, they just got exposed by the Lakers, and this might be a reason for them to slip their chance to win a title.

As for the Pacers-Bucks, the Pacers are the top offensive team right now, so I expect this game to be a close one. I mean the Bucks have Lillard, and Giannis plus other role players, but Haliburton is just a great PG for the Pacers. TBH, it's hard to bet which team will win, but I always wanted to be at the opposite side so I might pick the Pacers to win on this one. Smiley
574  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: coin memes don't have a project? Is it worth buying for the long term? on: December 07, 2023, 02:23:14 AM
~
Even though there is no clear project, many people are still interested in meme coin because they have increased by thousands of%.
Are meme coin worth buying in the long term?
What is your reason for buying meme coin?
You already stated here that the coin has "no clear project".
You also said that their price increased by thousands if not hundreds. Do you think that all of us can take a risk and invest in these types of coins which are typically more volatile than those of the top ones?

Are meme coins worth buying in the long term? Hell no. I will not buy a token that has a chance to go up by thousands yes, but go down by thousands as well. I can't take that risk. Probably some can take it, but not for me. Another one is that I don't want to invest in a project that has no use case and isn't beneficial for the investor.

I have no reason for buying any meme coin aside maybe for DOGE because I have a bias on it since it's the very first meme coin that has been created, but other than that, I will not buy any meme coins or should I say shitcoins.
575  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: December 05, 2023, 03:57:58 PM
The Grizzlies have only played 19 games so far. There are still 6 games to be played for Ja Morant to start or play due to his 25-game suspension. He will debut this season against the Pelicans which is the 26th game for the Grizzlies (December 19) and it will be an away game. If I were Ja Morant, I would choose to make my season debut at home. Hopefully, with Ja Morant back in the lineup the Grizzlies will improve their standing.

Honestly, I don't expect Morant's return to impact the Grizzlies' performance and significantly improve their spot in the standings.
I'm wondering what the attitude of the Grizzlies management towards Morant is now after everything that happened. Do they still see him as the team leader, or would they prefer to get rid of him as soon as the opportunity arises?
Not in the first games, but I expect the Grizzlies to play way better when he's back than how they're playing right now.
His presence will boost the morale of the team, and they also got D. Rose who will mentor him along the way.

I just hope that this 25-game suspension of him will be the last suspension that he will face on his whole NBA career because it affected him, and his team by a lot. As for the team getting rid of him, I don't think that it will happen. How can you get rid of a very talented young player? They might do it though if he will do it again, or worse the whole NBA might ban him already after that. Do I still see him as a leader? Yes even though he went through that drama, I still see him as a good leader, but not as good as others out there.

Just don't expect too much on his comeback because like what other NBA players are, they will find their groove at the first games then from there, they will build their momentum that will help their team get some wins.
576  Bitcoin / Wallet software / Re: Is Samsung blockchain wallet safe? on: December 05, 2023, 02:45:48 PM
Samsung wallet? Never heard that Samsung was into creating wallets already. Cheesy What a surprise by them I guess?
Anyway, storing your Bitcoin there just because they're a "very legit company" is dumb in my opinion. I mean you forget about the security of your Bitcoins and put it on a centralized company like Samsung.

I guess just saying that you need to be ready if things do not go the way you want them. What I mean is that I don't consider it safe even though it's a non-custodial wallet just because it's still owned by a centralized company. Go follow what everyone is saying, and return all of your Bitcoins to your Electrum account. I can just imagine somebody creating his own Samsung Wallet, listing the seed phrase then selling that phone to an ignorant one who just wants a Samsung phone, and because he's involved in crypto as well, he decided to put all of his Bitcoins on his Samsung Wallet without knowing that somebody also has access to it.

I'm not a Samsung phone user, and even if I do, I will not put my Bitcoins in their wallet.
577  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Established Altcoins or new potential coins this bullrun ? on: December 05, 2023, 02:37:29 AM
~
would you prefer the established coins like ETH, XRP, Matic, BNB and SOL or wanna give a chance to newbuds which will bloom during this bullrun ? Existing ones who has pumped during last bullrun or new finds ? Which one would be your choice of investment?

I would prefer new Altcoins which is entering bullrun for the first time.
Established coins.

Yes, we've seen the price of altcoins pumping during the bull run, but do all of them pump? No. Most of the established coins do. Most of the top 100 coins do. Most of the top 10 coins do. The top coins that you shared already pumped their price during the bull run, and there's a high chance that it might happen again.

I'm a conservative type of investor who always prefers investing on some established coins rather than those new projects out there even though time is on my side. I don't want to risk that much money into something that I believe will be a failed one in the future. I'm not saying that all new projects will end up as failed ones, but most of them are (based on history), and there's a chance that I might lose investing in new projects rather than getting profit.

Overall, I believe that there will be some who will try and invest into some low market cap altcoins in the bull run in hopes of the getting some huge profits, but not for me.
578  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Will USTC hit 1$ again and be a stable coin ? on: December 05, 2023, 01:55:28 AM
What do you think about USTC that was Terra Luna stable coin which fell from 1.00$ to 0.01$ cent
~

I guess it's just pure luck that Terra Luna is still alive, and there are still some people who are stupidly supporting, and buying their coin for various reasons.
I mean most of the time, if a coin got hacked, or its price dropped massively like what happened to TERRA, the developers end up abandoning the project, but not for this one.

I don't see any reason why their stable coin will reach a dollar again. Not even during the bull run. The effect of what happened to them in the past is just too big that investors who experienced that one will never forget what happened to them. They'll remember that the once massive project that's been in the top 10 is now below the top 100 or even 200 already. They'll never forget the fact that they completely lost their money investing into once a very good project.

You said you bought it right? Take profits as early as possible.

Please share your experience with me so that I can be careful in the world of cryptocurrency.
Thanks.
I can't remember the last time I got scammed TBH. I don't know if I got scammed even when I was still a newbie or not.
Maybe I can consider that I got scammed when I invested in those new projects (ICOs) and ended up as a failed project. I guess that's the one part that I got scammed, but aside from that, I never get scammed by these stupid scammers.

What I did is before investing, I already watched numerous Youtube videos, and read some threads here regarding tips and tricks on how not to get scammed. At that time, lots of scam projects were emerging, and most of them had the red flags that I just watched or read. Until now, whenever I see new projects, I always think that they are a scam at first because nowadays, investing in new projects is very hard because the chances of you getting scammed are at their highest. Though I've missed many opportunities not to invest in new projects because I'm always hesitant, I'm not feeling any regret at all.

There are many ways for a scammer to scam you. Most of them are very common especially if you've seen lots of them already. Learn more about how these scammers are doing, and you will not get scammed. Smiley

Is there any way someone can survive only in money in a particular investment without acquire idea? Because I know that idea and money are very important to investors.
You are asking if you can still survive in the world of investing just having lots of money, and without any knowledge whatsoever.
Hell NO!!!!!

I can have a billion dollars, and I want to invest it. Where will I invest it? That's the first question that will come to my mind. How can I know which asset will I put my money with if I don't have any knowledge of any single one of them at all? Do you think that any rich people out there will just throw their money, and invest it there? Of course not, successful people always learn the thing that they want to focus on. Successful businessmen learned the things that they needed to become a successful one. Same with investing. For you to be a successful one, you need to learn everything about the type of investment you are investing your money in.

Ideas and money are 2 big factors when it comes to investing, and it's impossible to only have one of them. Ideas are useless if you don't have any money at all to invest with, and at the same time, having money but no ideas at all isn't good either. If you want to be a successful one, you must have both of them.
