Everyone here is advising to send coins with higher fees. But can anybody explain how do I increase the amount of fee if I want to send coins from exchanges like Poloniex, Bittrex etc. where the fees are automatically decided & there is no option to change the fees manually even in the setting menu? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Exchanges usually pay appropriate fee. You don't need to worry! If you are using exchanges or online wallets, I highly recommend you to use offline wallets. There are a few online wallets which are "okay", but use them at your own risk! You *won't* have full control over your bitcoins!

I opened my BitCoin Core Application for the first time since about 2013. I have 0.05 BTC in it. On 6/8/2017, I deposited 0.0010 into Bittrex but I have not seen the deposit credited to my account yet. My BitCore was still getting caught up on the blockchain and when I let the house this morning it was on 6/19/2017. So should I expect to see my deposit once my BitCoin Core App gets caught up?
You can send Bitcoin before Bitcoin core is fully synced, but it won't show in your client until your core is fully synced. Edit: See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=851723.msg9478848#msg9478848.

So now I found out that staking an address here, is one of the important things member should do.
3KspKgdjq8wqH2ia173EhboRHugk436gjK
The above address is my main address, it is a coins.ph wallet.
1JAMYRoaPiqK4PStwMpKyWH3S5x6DvHRM
This other address is a blockchain.info address.
quoted, make sure that you able sign message ith those address Sir, the first address is a coins.ph wallet and signing a message is a feature that is not yet available. While the second address I posted, I have followed the tutorial shorena made and posted a signed message on shorena's thread. 3KspKgdjq8wqH2ia173EhboRHugk436gjK is a multisig address. You can't sign a message with it. jamyr's signed message:- First time to try sign a message. -snip- For example, if in a 14 day period you post 14 posts, you gain +14 activity. If you post 2 posts in a 14 day period, you gain +2 activity.
mprep, is this process of earning activity outdated? I was under the impression that if you post even once in a 14day period, you still gain +14 activity. You only get 14 points by posting once *if* your post count is higher than activity by at least 13. See https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=178608.msg19709435#msg19709435. It may not be the best explanation out there, but I think you can at least understand the process.

|
|
I really dont understand how to calculate activity and post counts, isnt my post the same as my activity? please teach me thanks.
Post and activity are *not* same. "Posts" is total post count. Instead, activity depends on no. of posts you made during certain periods. A period is 14 days[1]. You get maximum of 14 points per 14 days as activity. If you haven't made any post in a 2 weeks period, you will loose activity points in that period forever. However, if you make at least one post in a period, you won't miss those activity points, instead, it gets accumulated and once you post next time, your activity will increase. That is, if you posted 3 times in a 2 weeks period, then your activity increases by 3 at the end of that 2 weeks period and remaining 11 points is saved up for later. When you post next time, in another period, you will be able to get 25 points, either if you post 25+ times or if your "posts" is higher than activity, i.e. 14 points of that period plus 11 points from previous period. Scenarios:- 1. Consider you have 112 "posts" and 112 "activity". You post one time, then at the end of a period, your activity and posts will be 113. You got 1 activity point and remaining 13 points will be accumulated for later. 2. Consider you have 112 posts and activity and you made 20 posts, then at the end of period, your posts will be 132, but you activity will be 126. (Note: 14 points max per period(2 weeks = 14 days.) 3. Consider you have 125 posts and 112 activity. You made 15 posts, then your posts will be 140, but your activity will be 126. (Note: 14 points max per period.) 4. Consider you have 125 posts and 112 activity. You made 1 post, then your posts will be 126, but your activity will be 126. That is, you get 1 activity point by posting once in that period plus 13 posts (125-112=13). 5. Consider you have 125 posts and 112 activity. You made 5 posts, then your posts will be 130, but you activity will be 126. [1] Someone has made a list of dates. I will post here if I finds it. If someone else knows, please post! Edit: Got it! https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=582736.0
P.S. If you can't understand something, don't tell "I didn't understand"! Instead, ask about the part you didn't understand. It will help us to give you a better and accurate answer.

I informed I may not be online for a few days to not see these kind of comments, but sigh... ![Undecided](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/undecided.gif) Nice to see the global moderators are about six to nine months behind the rest of us.
I don't understand! ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) Edit:- If anyone has any instructions on recovering them, please do post here! Thanks in advance! AFAIK, internet connection is broken where I am going. I will be off for about 2-5 days! If there is internet connection, I will try to come online. So if you don't see me around these days, don't make this anymore worse, if you know what I mean!
http://pogostick.net/~pnh/ntpasswd/Thank you, ibminer! I will give it a go when I return home! Disclaimer: If you encrypted files through Windows, this will not fully work. But based on your current situation, I doubt you were encrypting files.
I didn't encrypt.

I am unable to login to my profile. I am using windows and have 2 profiles, 1 admin & 1 standard user. I am not exactly sure what is the problem, but I guess it is related to password. I tried many times, but I can't login. It is not possible to recover password using recovery tools because of the length of password. So I am only left with cracking it with a software available online. Like I said earlier, chances for logging in again is very low.
What version of Windows? There should be ways to get around the password issue. Windows 7. Is it telling you the password has failed or is it giving you another message?
Password failed. As long as the drive is readable, which it is if you are loading Windows, the data should be retrievable. I assume this machine is where the PGP & wallet exists?
Yes. And you don't know your password but you know how long it is? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif) I know my password, but I can't login to my profile. I think maybe a letter or number is wrong. I'm not sure about it though! So the new accusation is: "I don't trust them because they lost access to an empty wallet and pgp key cannot sign a message proving their identity"?
I can't help with that, but as MZ offered a proof of knowledge. Would that be acceptable? I can think of a question only they should be able to answer based on our past exchange of encrypted messages.
FTFY It seems like Muhammed Zakir is well aware that a signed message is needed to prove identity: [ img]https://i.imgur.com/bbPkYwh.png[/img] His own demands to require a signed message are being honored. -snip- I understand what you're saying, but if I can't access my wallet or PGP, how can I sign? ![Huh](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/huh.gif)

@shorena: Thank you! @hilariousandco: So, what do you think?
You may not know about this, but before I completely understood how valuable *personal* BTC address is, I sold 2 addresses, which were addresses I created when I got involved in Bitcoin, and someone (buyer of those addresses iirc) has already publicly posted private keys of those 2 addresses. It was a pretty stupid thing and I regretted selling it later! Therefore, I can only sign using either my pgp key or main BTC address - 1MZakirz92c76pK6BNy1NAEmbWYpDcP7mh. But you already know I can't sign from either of them. -snip- What is the problem with your PC? Why are chances low of recovery??

If you have read my posts, you can see that I have already said I have access to those accounts, including BIT-X.

Remove the Bit-x signature codes and Personal message under your Avatar, it has been long enough since Bit-x end their campaign here.

Forum ranks/positions/badges still update every 30 min? -snip-
AFAIK, updated every hour. In order to rank up you have to atleast make 14 post {...}
14 is maximum points you can get per 2 weeks. There is no "minimum" post count per week. That is, even if you posted less than 14 times, you would still get activity points according to number of posts you havw made.

-snip- Feedback is there as a precaution as any account that didn't change their password since the 2015 forum hack are likely hacked themselves. I will happily remove it once reasonable proof has been shown.
If you are talking about the attack where theymos(iirc) said to change our passwords*, then, I was there at that time. You can see that by checking my "latest posts". I have changed my password at that time. However, I haven't changed my password after that. If my account did change hands, it should have been changed, right? And also do you really think I would give my personal accounts(Twitter, Github, Facebook, Skype etc...)? I have exchanged encrypted messages with shorena. Although, I can't say content exactly as it was, but I can say what we have exchanged each other(if shorena is willing, in here, otherwise, in PM or Twitter). I have also exchanged my number with few Indians(eg: chronicsky, Mahin Gupta(Zebpay), Advaith Doosa and few others). Does Mahin Gupta's words have credibility? After all, he is one of the people behind Zebpay and he was previously founder of BuySellBitco.in. BuySellBitco is also his username IIRC. * I have checked just now and it happened in May. I last posted in October. There hasn't been any attack after that, right? Edit: It is not BuySellBitco, instead buysellbitcoin ( https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=67318).

I have already guessed I would negative trust feedback. TBH, I didn't login before because of this. But after finding out that it was nearly impossible to recover both BTC and PGP addresses did I come back. Well, I am not sure if this can be considered proof, but I can still access my BIT-X account, Twitter, Facebook and Skype. I don't remember other accounts which can be used to verify my identity. If anybody else remember any account/site which can be used to verify my identity, please do tell me! Thanks!
P.S. I can still access both Github & ICQ accounts too!
Edit-2: Also Telegram. Both ICQ & BIT-X are registered using my mobile number. So I think it can be considered as enough proof.
