181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does the world know about Bitcoin? on: May 18, 2024, 06:50:14 PM
A month ago, a news channel made news about Bitcoin in my country. I still see a lot of people who think Bitcoin is a scam. I feel bad for them; they still don't understand Bitcoin's growth from zero to here. Those who are calling Bitcoin scam; they know Bitcoin, but they don't know how it actually works. And I saw a lot comment there they don't know what is Bitcoin, they heard first time about Bitcoin. I don't know any exact data, but in my opinion, less than 5% of people know about Bitcoin. That means a major part of the population is unaware of Bitcoin.
Those who have no idea about Bitcoin and who have been misinformed from the beginning will basically do the same thing about Bitcoin. If I always discuss with you the negative aspects of a subject, only the negative aspects of that subject will come to you, and whenever you hear the name of that subject, you will find its negative aspects. A country's journalists and other media spread negative propaganda about Bitcoin, which creates a negative perception of Bitcoin among people who did not know about Bitcoin in the past when they learn about Bitcoin anew. But beyond all these, if a user tries to learn about Bitcoin on his own, then he will definitely know something good about Bitcoin.

the media i think intentionally made BTC look like a scam to the public. because if there is good news for BTC like the approval of ETFs, the news never made it to the mainstream for all to hear. but if the news is about BTC being used to scam or the kidnapper asked for the ransom in BTC, the news will just spread like it is happening worldwide that even my pop who is just as bedridden as he is will start asking whether i'm involved to this kind of activity.  Grin

not everyone in the world will get a fair knowledge of the wealth distribution that is currently happening. they will miss it out because of the media and the people behind it they are keeping it out for the public to know. i think it should be our duty already to spread the word out.

If people in a country buy bitcoin instead of keeping money in the bank or invest in bitcoin, then the economic situation of the country's government can be seen as a disaster. Not only does Bitcoin spread bad news but various banks always warn customers about Bitcoin so that customers don't invest in Bitcoin at all. But I have seen many investors from those countries too who are investing in Bitcoin without giving importance to such false propaganda of their country. I think every country probably has investors who are investing in Bitcoin against the propaganda of their country's news media or banks.

when the media already portrays a negative image of the product, people have it in mind that what the media is saying is true. har to actually change the mind of someone since for a long time they rely on their information from the media, they are to even think on their own.

so many people around the world will not be able to own even just a fraction of 0.001BTC while the world will be going into a transition from fiat to BTC adoption.

182  Economy / Economics / Re: Hyperinflation - Will it lead Countries to Adopt Bitcoin? on: May 18, 2024, 06:26:22 PM
I have hope that hyperinflation will get to a certain extent whereby many countries will have nothing left for them as an alternative to perfect their economy than in adopting for bitcoin use in the country, because over several years, the fiat system and government couldn't help in the situation of the economic challenge than to create a sustained inflation towards the economy and in which the people are the ones being affected the most.

there are a few options to do but some of those options are not for the fainted hearts. but as long as their central banks can print money, it's going to be tragic for the lives of the people. BTC would have been good if they tried adopting when the price had taken a nose dive to $17k. but i think it's still not too late if they start now.

a few months ago Melei was trying to adopt USD. i guess he also realized that all currencies are devalued.
183  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: FTX planning to payback customers, small account holders on the priority list on: May 18, 2024, 06:00:36 PM

Does this guy look like he is going to do 25 years in prison to you? Not to me.

He will get the same treatment as CZ. A slap on the wrist. "Don't do that again kiddo!"
Well worst case is this scenario. But he must be rot on Jail, yes I think there are ways on how he can definitely free from that 25yrs of imprisonment. But not all Politician can be bought, At least I believe there is an opposing side to this. If he isnt gonna be punished then every fraudster out there will likely be gain momentum to do their stuff as Sam just walk freely after all those sins.

i don't think the clients are inserted to know what will happen to him anymore. what they wanted to know is if they could get back their coins. they were once happy hearing the exchange will be relaunched but those guys are just not going to do it.

in some articles, they were saying they'd pay in full + interest which is cool but other articles are just saying FTX will be paying them in fiat during the time off FTX collapse. which means because, at the time of the collapse, the value of BTC was around $17k, the creditors will get such an amount also plus interest.
this is just like confiscating the coins and paying them what it's worth at that time.
184  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we increase the awrarness level for Bitcoin adoption on: May 17, 2024, 10:25:33 PM
there are still people who are online every day but are not aware of Bitcoin still. they just stay on social media but are not subscribed to some friends who are aware of BTC. there are local forums in my country where i share some Bitcoin memes and updates, but only a handful of users keep talking about Bitcoin.

although we are happy discussing what we earn from the price increase, a few who accidentally click the thread are just there to say hi. rural areas might just be the last especially if an internet connection isn't accessible.
185  Economy / Economics / Re: The increase of dollar affecting underdeveloped countries economy on: May 17, 2024, 09:56:55 PM
Increase in dollar does not affect any undeveloped countries rather it's because of their weak and unstable economies which can't compete favourably in the international market causing the local currency of that country to depreciate against the dollar
The truth is dollar is always stable and does not increase in the united state but because underdeveloped countries like Nigeria their currencies are fragile due to their weak and bad economic policies the local currency always decline against the dollar the most painful thing is the devaluing of these weak currencies especially in my country Nigeria the naira is always devalued for God knows what reason that the government always give

it affects the dollar earner in Nigeria whether the dollar falls or goes up, their earnings also depend on the rate.

in underdeveloped countries, it often affects when the prices of products are going high especially because they are rated in dollars such as gas.  when gas prices go up, so is the price in Naria. still when this happens the dollar earner is also affected.
186  Economy / Economics / Re: War will give reason to make different economics blocks east/west on: May 17, 2024, 08:10:36 PM
you don't know how the orientals live, do you?
children even live with their parents even when they are married already. just look at the culture of India where 3-4 generations still live in a compound because of family ties. you could say they enslave their own in the guise of respecting the elders but seems right for us since it's the same as helping each other. when the kids grow responsibly, their kids serve them as well.

when a country is in debt trouble. colonization starts to make sense in their minds whether in Eastern or Western countries. it's the reason why in ancient times slavery was common.
187  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Fixed matches group in 3rd world countries on: May 17, 2024, 07:34:46 PM
A friend of mine reached out to me, not in any attempt to lure me into this; he wasn't aware that I'm also involved in sports betting and that he's in a Facebook group of approximately 100 users, where the "administrator" is distributing money on certain matches of completely unknown teams in India, Guatemala, Pakistan, or other countries, with odds usually higher than 1.7 to 1.8.

The only catch is that they have to share 50% of the earnings with the group's administrator, who is basically giving you the money to make the bets.
This sounds strange if I may say, because this is actually my first time hearing of this strategy whereby an admin provide a sure fixed game, share money to it's members to gamble and then share the profit 50/50.  Because if this is actually true just the way you explained, then it means the admin is literally losing money every single day, rather than gaining.

That is,
Imagine the admin shared $100 each to members to gamble with.
And the odd of the game was 1.7 odds.
They gambled and won $170 each
They share the profit 50/50 each, which is $85
Which means the admin probably would have lost $15 per individual. (I.e imagine you brought $100, and you got paid back $85). It literally doesn't make any sense.

However, I think the common fixed match strategy I have always heard is that an admin will provide the game, and instead of selling the game to gambler, he will rather give the game to trusted individuals to gamble it and then share the profit either 30/70% or 50/50% depending on the odd of the game. But just that most cases, this always turn out to be scams.

doesn't add up still. when he could get the whole amount by himself. but maybe OP should bring the link here for people to investigate and not us just guessing. but he must have been benefiting from all these and doesn't want to poop that party for doing so.

but fixed matches are being done in the top-level organization. they were once the maffia but turned into a federation or organization in sports who decides the outcome of who will be the champ and whos not.
188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Memecoin specifically for holders.. on: May 17, 2024, 07:19:14 PM

this must be the memecoin developers hired by Binance to develop a memecoin in BNB. i just learned about the HODL from the other thread.

i don't know if it's really worth holding. all memecoins are for dumping. it all just depends on the individual who got the memecoin. if one got them for the cheapest price, they'd sell them when the price hits their target.  most investors will stick around to assets that will give yield even without the hype.
189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 'HODL' The first meme coin on BNB Chain? on: May 17, 2024, 07:08:59 PM
bitget shill again?
and no moron, whatever that shitcoin HODL is, it's not the first meme coin on BSC

EDIT: my bad, you're just here to shill the shitcoin apparently, not the shit exchange
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5496813

lol there are lots of them some are migrated to BNB chain. but they are all the same. if they are not pumped to get recognized by the users who just want to ride the trend then it's best left alone.

not a shit exchange? give a another 2 years after this bull run and we'll see what bitget may look like. it comes up while the market is getting greener. when the market is bearish for a year or 2, that's when you see how good exchange turn shit.
190  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: When investing in Bitcoin: what to consider? on: May 16, 2024, 08:54:20 PM
So what are your opinion towards the people that are investing in Bitcoin?

they make use of technology in their finance development. but it may be different for some people with ideology. after all when they consider themselves unbanked then Bitcoin is their way to bank their money.

if you are to invest in BTC, consider the most important thing to have, always hide your seed phrase. keep it somewhere hidden in a place where no one ever visits but of course you may give a clue to your kid or wife.
191  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Tether, TON team up with mobile app for USDT-to-fiat transactions on: May 16, 2024, 08:42:48 PM

Quote
“Together, we will provide banking solutions to the unbanked population and revolutionize how users transact with cryptocurrencies, making it easier and more convenient."

haven't really heard of that Oobit mobile payment app, Isn't this like Venmo?

Oobit seems to have a tight partnership already with USDT. yep it's going to be useful since most merchants will prefer to have USDT. even if they say they accept BTC but often they turn it into stablecoin after receiving the payment. the volatility makes them afraid of holding BTC.
192  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What did you think about the future of polkadot? on: May 16, 2024, 06:47:15 PM
ven though currently Polkadot is rarely discussed among crypto users, I am still very optimistic that Polkadot will provide something positive for its users, because Polkadot is one of the altcoins that has a very large popularity and community when compared to other altcoins, then Polkadot will appear is back on the scene and will surprise other crypto users,

don't fall in love with a token that isn't making you money. you'd be stuck to the kind of investment that is just a bad decision. those who invested in EOS a long time ago are just not happy with the kind of growth that it made where there is no progress in its development.

there are so many projects to look at. while there are more tokens out there such as Solana. Polkadot is left behind. this is even created long before Sol.
193  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What is going to happen Biden orders remove of Chinese-owned crypto Miner? on: May 16, 2024, 06:34:48 PM
Based on your comments here, it would appear that you are fine with the Chinese government and the Iranian government being involved in business in the US, just not the American government preventing them from doing so. Interesting....
Isn't that the definition of Economic Liberalism inside a Democracy? Or was it all lies told to the sheeple to lull them into thinking they aren't subjects in a Neo Dictatorship regime? Wink

that's China's part of being overcapacity. who buys such land now with the kind of real estate market today? the mining farm will be forced to sell the land for the cheapest price. but i'm guessing this is part of their suspicion that there will be a Chinese hacking attack and it may come from that mining farm, remember this is a security concern since it's near the military base.

that mining farm might as well move to Venezuela where there is cheap oil to run the entire company.
194  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: A new type of shills similar to ICO scammers, this is called Key Opinion Leaders on: May 16, 2024, 03:21:40 PM

they still circumvent SEC regulations and this KOL is like part of the team, the ones selling their tokens to the retail investors who are probably the first in the exchange to dump their tokens. they are just like the paid shills actually, i don't know why the article says otherwise but in the time of John McAfee, peace be upon him, they also shill tokens but are paid in BTC, USD and the token they shill as well.

Gernsler can easily subpoena Stacy Muur but not those huge guys.
195  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversify memecoin investments? on: May 16, 2024, 02:55:43 PM
Diversifying on altcoins especially on meme coins will do nothing. You believe me. Meme coins have very high fluctuations in value. Investing in meme coins is high risk. But if you want to keep investing in meme coins then you have to be ready to accept it. Diversifying for the sake of preserving asset value will not give you the returns you should get from meme coins. I prefer to make one investment and move on to another after getting a few tens of percent returns.

new memecoins like are doing just that. it has to be treated like pump and dump tokens so when its dumps, holders should also be dumping either you lose or winning some, its got to be just how those memecoins work. once you earn because of the price spike of about 30% be ready to sell already because it may take weeks to months before climbing again.

they are pumps and dumps and not for holding for a long time. just ride the waves and then sell. move to another. unless this investor is willing to wait for another turn.
196  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Diversify memecoin investments? on: May 16, 2024, 01:54:24 PM

i think you should wait for the Biden and Trump debate this June 27 because the memes will flood when that happens and you can buy as many MAGA tokens as you can or the BODEN tokens because they are probably the ones that will rise while it's happening.

197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is investment a necessity or a want? on: May 15, 2024, 08:40:46 PM

In today's economy, it should be a necessity by now, or else it will be disastrous for your financial situation and you miss a whole lot of opportunities especially in crypto because the bull market should be taken advantage of by the people. if anyone can convince people to buy and hold till they profit, it will be for their own good. because everyone needs help in this kind of economy.
198  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Join Our Fight Against Crypto Scams - Contribute to CryptoLinks.com! on: May 15, 2024, 08:10:52 PM

you can participate int he scams accusation threads. the scam accusation forum would need a scam buster like you. because no entity can force those scammers to respond but if you can reveal them through your investigation skills that would be a huge help for the victims. by revealing them i think is already a good justice. making them return the money they took will be a bigger step.

199  Economy / Economics / Re: Our world is slave system the banking and financial system soft slave system on: May 15, 2024, 07:29:07 PM
So role the dice and see in wich country you born into and that's how your life will be shaped a lot.
But one thing for sure you will be in slave system

We all know that the global financial system is controlled by a few individuals. Politicians and top business owners enjoy the majority of the world's resources. I don't like stressing myself for what I cannot change. My own country is governed by politicians who are corrupt and have no intention to lift the poor masses out of poverty. We have tried to remove them through elections but they were able to rig the elections and get political power. The best I can do is to seek for means to get enough resources to take care of my family, friends, and community. I try as much as possible to reduce my expenses while seeking alternative means to make more money to overcome the high cost of living. OP do you have any solution to this problem?

we are all in this kind of world. whether you are from a rich country or a 3rd world country, everyone is corrupt and they have come up with a system that can control a country they have not even been to. if there is a solution to this problem, it's gonna be the harshest and people wouldn't like that much but the politicians and leaders will like it as it dissolves their debts and manage other country's resources.

we have seen it happen before and i guess the cycle will happen again.
200  Economy / Economics / Re: Buying Vs Renting a Home- Which is the right move? on: May 15, 2024, 07:08:35 PM

it really matters when you plan of how long you are going to stay in a certain place. if you have a kid and you give importance to his childhood friends and that he could have a life long friends, i guess buying would be better for he can have a place to call a home town.

if you are just in the place where you are called because you have a job. i think its best to just let your kids visit from time to time and just rent a place when you know you won't be staying for a long time.
