181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Woes of gambling on: January 14, 2024, 04:24:55 PM
I believe that a lot of things depend on people's viewpoints and experiences, especially for gamblers like you who may believe that gambling is a scam. Since you just expressed your opinions, I recognize that you have a point of view, and I cannot hold you for expressing it.
Well gambling with fraud usually involves the use of manipulation or dishonesty for one's own benefit. For instance, occasionally unfair gambling practices, like as rigged games, may be used. Additionally, dubious advertising and false information may be used to deceive customers, especially those who are new to the gambling field.

In my perspective, gambling is a respectable business activity as long as it is carried out in compliance with the law. Similar to how it entails taking chances and giving people the chance to have fun with the possibility of winning money.
It makes sense that there are risks associated with gambling, and that the house usually has the better chances. It was the reckless gamblers' fault that they may develop an addiction to gambling due to their false belief that they would win the big prize even though they consistently lose.
182  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Alter Ego In Gambling on: January 14, 2024, 12:20:06 PM
I just discovered a friend's personality, who in real life is very thrift and very conservative but once he played online in casinos he became very reckless and loved to play the risks because for him when it comes to gambling if you cannot take a risk you don't have a chance to win big, that's a big contrast from his real personality for him he has alter ego when it comes to gambling, so his outlook and decision is very much different when playing.

How about you Are you gambling in a way that is very different from your true personality,

My personality when it comes to gambling, however, varies depending on how I'm feeling. Sometimes I'm observant and cautious when it comes to risking my money. As you may know, people's personalities truly shift when they engage in their favorite pastimes or activities,  to the reality that people make careless decisions in an attempt to fulfill their desires related to their preferred pastimes.
Cause honestly i experienced that also like shifting certain personalities like an other person. Particularly when it comes to gambling, the sensation of winning on your first try and then the second, as in my case, making me want to wager a large sum of money in the hopes of winning twice because, when I win, my winnings start out small and increase in value.  So back to my story, yeah I gamble a big amount of money hoping I would win again this time buttttt to dismay, I lose. And iii so much regretttt itttttt. So yeah, we change personalities.
183  Other / Off-topic / Re: Who does gambling addiction affect the most? on: January 14, 2024, 11:17:52 AM
So I want to ask, between the gambling addict and his immediate family, who does the addiction affect the most?
I believe that a gambling addiction can have an impact on the addict as well as his family because it can lead to a lot of trial and error in terms of financial stability and produce more serious issues when the gambler becomes addicted to betting.
But if I were to compare the two, his immediate family would be the one that suffers more. This is due to the fact that a gambler may lead to relationship issues within the family as well as emotional and financial suffering. In addition, the family could experience guilt and shame if they believe they are to blame for the addict's actions.
However, the problem lies with the gambler addict for sending him down this path of irresponsibility and for entering the game of chance, knowing full well that there is always a risk. He alone will be abusing his health and emotions, and in the end, his family will bear the consequences of all the dumb things he or she has done.
I agree with you on this. The family did not send him to get addicted to the game,it was a choice that he made, therefore, when the trouble that follows it comes,he would still be the one to take it with full chest,he has no choice or neither will he dolge  from it,but his family can choose to deny him if he does anything stupid or behaves in a way that they don't like, they might decide to disown him.
This is the reason why it is warned, you must be above the age of 18 before you start anything gambling, because at that age,it is believed you are responsible and accountable to anything that happens to you.
Yes, but it's still important for people to be aware of the possible risks linked with gambling, even if they consider themselves to be mature enough. Even though you may be mature for your age, if you make a poor decision and are unsure of it, your money and effort will still be wasted. Additionally, if a gambler cannot exercise responsible decision-making, it may result in unfavorable outcomes like debt, addiction, and other problems.

Others may provide you with something that brings you joy, such as winnings from gambling, but when it comes to the fact that they are dealing with numerous issues as a result of their delusion, well, if they are unable to handle the difficulties they are facing, they may pass them on to others. For example, some people have committed suicide without considering the consequences for their family, or they may have considered doing something bad for their family, such as selling their children or engaging in other regrettable actions.
184  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think gambling every day is better? on: January 13, 2024, 04:38:04 PM
My question is do you think gambling every day is better? From his reasoning and points of narrations.
I think it's not a good idea to gamble all the time. Perhaps your friend is forgetting that gambling is by its very nature a game of chance, with mainly unexpected results. I think that the frequency of gambling doesn't always translate into an increased chance of winning, even though some people might have occasional victories. Gambling every day may significantly boost the danger of financial losses, especially if you keep losing or don't consider how much you lose since you're more focused on how much you will gain if you strike the jackpot.

Let me clarify one thing to your friend that his idea that more frequent gambling increases the chances of winning is a misconception. He had to bear in mind that the outcome of each game is based on chance, not on the frequency of playing.

If someone enjoys gambling as a sort of entertainment, they should do so in a responsible manner, set boundaries, and understand the potential risks. Of course, as concerned citizens, we don't want to see gamblers develop a gambling addiction and then turn to blame others or maybe commit horrible crimes that could literally change their entire lives.
185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: I could have won bigger. on: January 13, 2024, 04:11:12 PM
~snip~
Someone will inevitably borrow money from you because that's how we all make enough to survive and purchase necessities. If you're tight on cash, your only option is to borrow money from friends or family. However, there are always some who pledge to pay up their loan on the specified day but ultimately postpone it for personal reasons.

It's reasonable that if we win later and think we could have earned more if our friend's money had been returned sooner, we would experience regret or a sense of lost opportunity.
This kind of reaction is natural in situations where the outcome could have been different based on the circumstances. and because of this, we ought to refrain from setting any sort of repayment expectation in order to prevent misunderstandings and disappointments.
We can return the money if we win, but what if we lose? How can we return the money? We will have difficulty returning the money. Therefore, we should never borrow money to gamble because there is no guarantee that we can win from gambling. We could lose all the borrowed money, and it will be difficult to return the money. However, we must be able to restrain ourselves by not borrowing money from anyone to gamble because that will only give us problems. With the self-control that we have learned previously, we can restrain ourselves from that, and we should do other things that can provide benefits and make money from other things.
Instead of gambling, there is another way for you to get the money back or pay off the debts you owe other people. You could look for a better job or find another way to make extra money that you believe will help you pay off your debts. After all, if someone only concentrates on gambling as a source of income, they are not thinking clearly and are only living for the moment. They are looking for easy money, but if they lose well, say goodbye to their money.

Therefore, why don't we concentrate on long-term financial goals like having our own savings and investments and creating a secure financial future instead of dangerous behaviors like borrowing money for gambling?
186  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: January 13, 2024, 03:26:55 PM

Being in debt is stressful, people who owe money and are having a hassle paying back the debt, find it hard to concentrate in their endeavors. Gamblers, out of the stress and anxiety, would want to recover the lost money, hence they'll be able to payback. But due to the expenses in a man's daily activities, when the player wins, he'll find it hard to pay his debt. As he may have accumulated series of debts from different people and organizations. Gambling with loan is wrong. One needs to be sure of his moves before taking loan. Despite that it's not advisable to rely on loan in any activity we want to venture into. The addicted players may have gotten addicted to taking loan such that they will rarely gamble using their own money. The finances used for gambling now revolves around borrowed money.

Yes, sometimes we go into debt for something that is needed for the necessities of life alone makes us feel uncomfortable, especially if we make loans as an alternative to gambling when we run out of money then obviously this has the potential for new, worse habits and also the potential for much worse impacts to occur. Therefore, never try to take out a loan just to gamble, the fear is that you can get into the habit of doing that especially when you get a lot of losses in each session which of course later you will enter the scenario of borrowing money to chase the win and get the winnings to pay off debts, this scenario will never be completed and this is the beginning of someone who will fall into debt in the end. As you said earlier that if you take a loan because of an urgent situation for other things such as your life needs I think it's normal because that's one of the benefits of why there is a loan, but if you borrow only for something that never has certainty and guarantee for a return such as gambling then obviously it is a ridiculous action and decision, only one thing to worry about is that you can experience debt problems that can make you depressed.

A gambler in debt doesn't have a complete fun after winning, because he'd feel he'd have to refund the won money back to the person he's owing. Along the line, he'd be getting different thoughts on what to do with the money, whether to gamble some more or just clear his debt. Paying back leaves the player broke again, hence he'd definitely gamble again to recover enough money to clear his debt and have remaining money. If the outcome doesn't equate the amount the gambler is looking to gain, he's most likely going to borrow some money again to meet his goals, while in debt. All the trouble he'd go through, can make the player depressed in the process, as he wouldn't understand what's actually happening with him. Most people who gambled with borrowed money didn't earn enough winnings to repay their debt.
A gambler who tries more to recover the loses he may lose more in gambling. When a gambler loses all his money he will want to take a loan to recover that money. In gambling a tendency I find among gamblers that is when gamblers win gambling with borrowed money they try to recover more with that borrowed money instead of paying. Later when he lost he regretted that he would have been better if he paid the borrowed money. I loaned money to a gambler I knew who treated me like this and after getting the experience I vowed never to lend money to gamblers.
The cycle of a gambler never ends, and as you guys mentioned, borrowing money to gamble can put a person in a debt cycle since losses can mount up and become impossible to recover. We can't stop them from their habits until we refuse to lend them money ourselves; perhaps that's the best way to help them feel better and consider what it is they're doing that we find inappropriate.
Additionally, it can strain relationships. For example, if a gambler borrows money from friends or family without disclosing to them that it was used for a potentially harmful habit, those people may feel deceived or frustrated.
Some individuals may struggle with trust issues related to a habitually dependent gambler, which makes it more difficult for others to accept payback pledges.  I mean those gamblers, they are the ones who will cause issues for themselves, therefore they really require some advice from experts.
187  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin [BTC] Price Could Reach $1.5 Million by 2030 Says Cathie Wood on: January 12, 2024, 04:23:09 PM
We should not take other people's projections seriously or take them at their word, particularly when it comes to predictions like the one you stated that bitcoin may go to $1.5 million by 2030, as predicted by Cathie Wood.
These are merely predictions, and we have no way of knowing if they will come true or not.
As everyone knows, the cryptocurrency market is notorious for its volatility, and a number of factors, including market demand, can affect pricing.
She might offer insights based on current trends, but we must treat such forecasts with caution and awareness of the fact that unforeseen events might impact prices and change the direction of the market.
188  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Debate: Should Your Business Accept Bitcoin? on: January 12, 2024, 03:58:03 PM
In my own view, there are benefits to accepting bitcoin as payment for business, but there are also some things to think about. This could be advantageous because some customers may prefer using cryptocurrencies for the purchases they make. In my opinion, bitcoin has the potential to become widely recognized globally, making it a speedier and more effective option for international payments. This is particularly relevant if you intend to operate a large business.
However, you also need to think about your customers who do not know how to use bitcoin or are unfamiliar with it. Thus, as a businessman, you may have to put in a lot of effort teaching them how to conduct the transaction. Also, keep in mind that the price of your goods or services may fluctuate considerably due to bitcoin's volatility. For this reason, you might need to think about ways to reduce this kind of risk.
And lastly, as every business owner does, you need to comply with any legal and regulatory requirements related to accepting cryptocurrencies at your place. This was just merely subjective, and our views and opinions might help you to think broadly before taking action.

189  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does signing up with affiliate links gives these benefits? on: January 12, 2024, 01:56:46 PM
Many youtubers and friends share their referral codes/affiliate links, saying you will get bonuses, real money, or free spins. but I wonder if casinos give extra help or benefits in some different situations.

For example, when someone wins a big multiplier and multiplies their account by 100x, then some casinos take a long time to process the withdrawal, or they may not even give the money. however, some say that if you sign up using a good affiliate or influencer affiliate code which have huge audience, then you won't face these type issues. also, if you promote the casino using your referral link, they might not hold back your withdrawal because you helped them get new customers.

is this kind of things is considered shady practice, or is it considered fair in the online gambling world?
Influencers may potentially receive some interest, in my opinion, if they endorse casinos and offer referral links. If users who registered with their referral codes have problems in a casino, it doesn't matter to them. Of course, influencers may benefit financially or otherwise from endorsing these casinos, which could influence their recommendations.
This seems like it could get a little sketchy to me because it raises questions about the transparency of their endorsements.

It's essentially up to us as players to decide whether or not to use an influencer's referral code, even though some influencers might provide special advantages or benefits through it. Depending on the casino you signed up with, I believe the answer will vary. In my experience, certain online casinos frequently provide players exclusive promotions and bonuses, such as welcome or free spins.  That is why we have to make sure that we must prioritize our own safety and read some reviews of the casino that the influencers have been promoted.

191  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think women will make better gamblers by their nature? on: January 11, 2024, 04:53:06 PM
I think that being a successful gambler is more a function of knowledge and experience than gender, because, of course, you have to know what you are doing for you to bet on the game, and you also have to apply the knowledge you gain for you to have a better experience and to improve on what you are lacking as a gambler.
Additionally, discipline and emotional control should be practiced by all of us. Sometimes women can be very irrational; when they become furious over games they play, they may flip their minds. Men may show similar tendencies toward being unable to manage their emotions and making confusing decisions.
I believe both sexes possess the qualities necessary for success in any industry, including gambling, but we have to have patience, know our risk tolerance, and, of course, pay attention to detail and dedication.
192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do not gamble with Loan Money~otherwise you will be in danger like me on: January 11, 2024, 02:57:06 PM
Losses are more than gains in gambling so when someone gambles with loans and loses them, it is very difficult for him to pay back the money and it creates more pressure for him.  And that's why he doesn't hesitate to do any kind of illegal work because he has to pay that loan at any cost. No one will forgive him his loan. So I agree with the op that gambling on loans would never be logical and a good experience.
I think it's safer for me to gamble with the money I have than to gamble with a loan. Gambling with a loan from others involves a lot of stress, like losing the gamble to repay the loan to the borrower.  If you gamble with your own money, even if you lose, there is no tension, so I never think of gambling with a loan. If anyone thinks of gambling with a loan, it is a big mistake.
Indeed, we often face increased pressure to win when we gamble with borrowed funds in order to pay back the loan, which also means we may have to pay interest and other fees. And this pressure we experience may push us to engage in riskier behavior, such as impulsive gambling, which can be harmful to our financial and personal well-being. If we lose, we have this emotion of regret and guilt because they are the ones that will awaken our conscience, and we will decide what to do just so that we can recover our victory and pay off our debt. Because of this, we ought to carefully consider if a course of action will assist us or if it will only make our situation worse before doing so. Perhaps we will end up like the other people who died and were posted in the forum because of gambling losses. It's also possible that he had debts, and in the end, his family suffered as a result of his reckless actions. This will serve as a lesson to gamble responsibly.
193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Your gambling life could affect your relatives lifes. on: January 11, 2024, 02:18:40 PM
When a gambler loss his own money on bet, it does not make a big impact. But when he borrows a small amount of money and gambles, it definitely starts to turn deadly. As the gambler borrows money in this way, he unmasks himself to all his own relatives. It is not only the gambler who is in trouble. He is also putting his relatives in danger. Drug and Gambling Addiction Whatever happens the addict loses his normal consciousness which affects his close relatives. By this a gambler not only suffers financially but also deteriorates his relations with his relatives.
Gamblers who can't control themselves while gambling can never do anything good. Although gambling is a serious addiction, everyone gets addicted to gambling even after knowing it. There are people who like to gamble in their free time.  People who have taken up gambling as a career only gamble for money, which results in losing all their money and ruining relationships with everyone.
point of correction @rojan it's not everyone that  gambles that gets addicted to gambling, there are many responsible gamblers as there are addictive gamblers. Even though a person chooses to take gambling as a career he or she can moderate his urge to making profit so as not to make losses to the length that starts to affect your family members and also destroying your own life.
I quite agree with you that not everyone that gamble are addicted to gambling, still there are people that control the way they gamble so to prevent themselves from addiction, I believe that only addicted gamblers drag their relatives or family members into mess to the extent of loss love for the person just because of the trouble he or she bring to house, addiction is very dangerous because it makes someone useless their life and bring a lot of shame to the family. Gambling ruined someone life only if the person allow it to control him or her.

      -  There are probably many gamblers who somehow, in the few years that they have been used to gambling in various casinos, are still in control of their gambling because there are still many gamblers who are still intact and their families, and they are not broke in life either.

It means that gamblers have overcome things that a gambler should not be able to apply, which is why they are still able to remain responsible gamblers in an industry like this in the crypto business field. And when this happens, it will affect our family greatly because we only play gambling in a limited way.
Absolutely, if we bet sensibly and are able to keep our family's strong bonds intact. We may prevent jeopardizing our family's financial stability if, as you said, a gambler places boundaries on their gaming and only wagers with funds they can afford to lose.

Open communication with family members is, in my opinion, another factor that can help prevent addiction in gamblers. It is beneficial to be transparent about your gambling habits and to stay clear of any possible problems or worries. Naturally, we must also practice time management. For example, we must prioritize spending time with our family above gambling in order to maintain a healthy balance between our gambling habits and our connections with our families.
194  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does it looks responsible as woman telling husband you gamble? on: January 10, 2024, 01:43:15 PM
The point is my husband doesn't know that i have been secretly gambling and involving myself with gambling discussions and the rest, So, this morning when i woke something in me keeps telling me i should let him know to understand my involvement  to practice gambling.

Does this worth telling him or not please i need you collective ideas.

For me, women shouldn't be involved in gambling no matter how conscious you're in maintaining a good gambling habit but it's not really a good idea for a woman to be involved in gambling or gambling related activities due to some certain reasons because if a woman gets involved in gambling, her duties as a wife will begin to fade because she might not be too focused on her family again.

Sometimes, in her quiet times she will start reminiscing about the games that she gambles with and it will distract her from her normal daily duties as a wife. Even if she tells her husband about her gambling habits and her husband sees reasons with her and possibly gives her advice and clues on how to go about her gambling habit but me I can't encourage a wife to be involved in gambling though if it's a woman that's not married that one is quite different because she has time to herself unlike married ones.

If she likes what she does and she feels that she can relax from playing the game and wants to have a past time from work or taking care of her children, then why do you stop your wife from doing what makes her happy? I mean, there is nothing bad if she gambles when she knows her limit, as she stated above, and she can manage her finances and her emotions as well. I mean, let's promote gender equality, and that doesn’t mean that she is a woman; she cannot play what men are capable of.

If it is wrong for others to see a woman who is skilled at gambling, consider whether it is appropriate for other men to see husbands who are emotionally unstable to the point where, in the event that they lose and become enraged, their family will become involved, and he may even harm his wife. It is quite a comfort when a woman confides in her husband about personal matters. This allows the husband to know what his wife is up to outside of raising the family, and he may warn or raise awareness if she is heading in the wrong direction.
195  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What happens if all Bitcoin is lost? on: January 08, 2024, 01:47:26 PM
What would happen if all Bitcoin is mined and all Bitcoin is lost?
There would undoubtedly be significant effects for miners and investors alike if all of bitcoin were lost, and they might suffer financial losses. It is somewhat unlikely that Bitcoin will completely vanish, though, and this is only a highly unreal case. It seems impossible that when we wake up one day, all of our bitcoin will have vanished for no apparent cause, given its significant role in business and its rise to importance in multiple countries. I mean, some bitcoin accounts have been lost, but it's not possible to say that all "bitcoin accounts" would vanish.

196  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The most logical and profitable game on: January 08, 2024, 01:16:44 PM
I know that basically gambling is based on luck, but we can use tricks or strategies so that we don't spend a lot of money and can still win, even if it's only a small win.

In general, in my opinion, there are several categories of games in gambling such as house edge games, sportsbooks, slot machine games, live casino games, and lottery. In your opinion, which game do you think is the most logical to win? and what is the reason?
It's crucial for us to keep in mind that luck always plays a part in games of chance, though. Still, certain games might be more skill-based or provide greater odds. Based on logic and skills, I would therefore rather wager on sports and live casino games like blackjack or poker since you can determine your level of skill by using your knowledge and strategy rather than depending solely on chance or speculation to determine if you are doing something right or wrong.
For instance, you can examine team performance during games and analyze statistics when you bet on sports. In live casino games such as poker, players can also employ different techniques to increase their chances of winning. However, because slot machines and other lottery games are unpredictable, their success depends only on chances.
I would recommend that beginners and those who even play at an intermediate level do not play poker for a long time, because those with a higher level will beat you faster than you can place bets on roulette. Other players will win because they play well. Of course, if you plan to play for a very long time and become a professional and only after that win back everything that you lost over the years while you were learning and growing in limits. If you don’t plan this, it’s better to just play where almost nothing depends on you, and only luck decides whether you win or not. I would still choose sports bets or slots with high returns, but as always, everything is individual.
Since he asked for feedback on logical games, I'm just making a suggestion. I'm not advocating that beginners play poker in the long run; naturally, there are others who are quite knowledgeable about the game and are very familiar with it, so it's expected that you won't hold anything against them. Of course, you have to study the rules beforehand, and some gamblers are probably not idiots who merely play the game without learning the rules.  Their instincts can certainly play a role in poker and it's not just about luck.
Players that are willing to put in the time and effort to get better can continue to be successful in the long run; it truly relies on how persistent they are. Everyone in this thread is just expressing their subjective ideas, so please take that as well.
197  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you gamble because you don't have sufficient money? on: January 08, 2024, 12:47:42 PM
For me my gambling is not just about money, I gamble because I just want to do it and I derive joy in gambling. If the money comes along the line, it's a good thing but if it doesn't come it's not a concern for me. I have my life going and I have other things I do which gives me money.
Yes, gambling can make you happy, especially if you win. However, it is bad for other people when they force themselves to gamble even when they are broke or unable to pay for their addiction until they eventually run out of money due to their persistent losses at the game. With the exception of those who are similarly employed, you can quit gambling and concentrate solely on your job, so even if you lose at the game, you won't be too worried about it or feel how it affects your finances. However, what about individuals who are just starting out and don't have enough money? They may believe they can gamble their way to riches, but in actuality, it may be their downfall because they are only copying other gamblers without realizing the risks involved.

Money does indeed bring us happiness, but it also causes us to regret our choices if we don't use it wisely. Either we develop a thirst for money and chase our losses, which leads to the development of a gambling addiction.

We make reliable source to generate significant profits in the system, we might not be in the best position to grab good earnings but the little we have, we should utilized it in a balance equilibrium. Borrowing money for gambling is weigh abstract from the line of purpose. Why would someone borrow money to gamble? How does that make sense in the scenario? Gambling is risky and if a gambler happen not to have the necessary money to gamble, then it's advisable the person should relaxed and go home, afterall this is not the propose day to generate all the millions in gambling space, there's alot we could learn and also afford to gap necessary basis in the system.
The gambler should have the specific source for the money to play gambling game, because the same gamblers will face the consequences by no funds at certain situations. The gambler should have huge resources for money,at the loss time we earn more in gambling,So the gambler should have money to regain with the same knowledge in the gambling site.If the gambler come to game after certain period of time, surely he will forget the entire game.So the output after the gap in the gambling will leads to the loss, everything in the game should be observed by the gambler to get the more technical skills in the game.
But there will be gamblers who often gamble and borrow money to gamble, and this has happened in many places. But when we have used our own money to gamble and can win, it is a win that we must enjoy, and there is no need to regret if a friend of ours has not been able to return the money he borrowed from us. Just leave those people be and we just have to enjoy what we've got so we won't think too much about it. We can still place another bet with the winning money to try to win again in the next match or other gambling game. So just forget about that person and focus on what you want to do so that small things like that won't become a burden on your mind later.

It is not easy if you lose, especially if you bet a large amount of money in the game or if you have a share of the money you bet and you made an agreement that if you win, you can share it depending on the percentage that you agreed to.
Of course, it is natural for us, and it is common for us to experience a range of emotions in such situations. When I see my mother losing while gambling, first I would be concerned for her health, which might lead her to stress and other issues that she might face upon losing the game, and then I would be disappointed and sad to know that she just spent her money like that.

I would rather open communication with her in a respectful manner and give her words that might awaken her conscience.
