181  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Where do you store your bitcoins ? on: October 21, 2015, 04:04:26 PM
i store my bitcoin in a hardware wallet, specifically a Ledger wallet. it is simple to use and was very affordable. they are even cheaper now, i see, than when i got mine, but after being hacked and losing some bitcoin I went and bought it and the security is well worth the investment.
182  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is this the next big run-up in price? on: October 21, 2015, 04:01:39 PM
the 1200$ peak was because of WILLY BOT ffs! unless the winklevii have some crooked bot cooked up and set to run on their exchange we aint going to see a run up like that again for a while. nobody actually uses bitcoin for anything besides speculation (and mining which is a type of speculation)
183  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will BTC reach $300 this month? on: October 21, 2015, 03:58:32 PM
its already 350 Canadian. no reason to get excited. same old action from bitcoin. up. down. sideways. i think were primed for a big drop actually. November 2016 is when we will see fireworks.
184  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin is coming back, stronger than ever, with new members! on: October 21, 2015, 03:55:07 PM
Looking at how much "people" registered here in this forum is no indication of how Bitcoin is doing. Account farmers and trolls may have hundreds of accounts to spam with or farm signature campaigns.
this is exactly what i was going to say.
there was especially a huge influx of signature farmers last winter as OP noted being a major growth period.

i cant imagine what new users who come to this forum looking for intelligent discussion think when they get here and see dozens of "How Many do you have of Bitcoin and why you her loving so?" threads
185  Economy / Speculation / Re: Nights Watch by Afrikoin on: October 21, 2015, 03:50:23 PM
its going to rally until February or march then hang low until the halving. that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
186  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you believe we need more ways of advertising Bitcoin currency? on: October 21, 2015, 03:45:49 PM
i dont know how much advertising is going to help out. the thing that will draw people in is a rapid and steady rise in price. we can do this with something like the willy bot or be patient (and honest) and let the adoption cycle continue like it has been all along. nothing sells success like success.
187  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-20] China (Unofficially) Authorizes Bitcoin, Price Turns Bullish on: October 21, 2015, 03:37:48 PM
the last bubble was caused by willy bot. china's wishy washy ban then un ban policies dont have a huge effect. some, but not huge. the very fact the article mentions the Grexit as precedence shows you how much its author knows.
188  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-21] Chinese Miner Releases 14 nm ASIC, Targeting Consumers on: October 21, 2015, 03:33:38 PM
impressive specs, if they are actual, but every time i hear anything about any ASIC chip manufacturer, especially selling to the consumer market, and doing pre-sales at that, I can only think of all the other failures and scams that have come before. I wonder if Fried Cat took his old IPs over to them and is covertly working there now?
189  Other / Politics & Society / Re: oakland police exam to be made easier, guess the reason on: October 21, 2015, 03:18:45 PM
I always heard that the cops gave you an IQ test when you applied and if you scored too high you got rejected. The truth about policing is its mostly boring and a lot of routine procedure. an intelligent cop will get bored and start stealing.
190  Other / Off-topic / Re: True Love on: October 21, 2015, 03:15:57 PM
True Love

That is a hoax.
Here is an article on how the word 'hello' started being used.
http://www.nytimes.com/1992/03/05/garden/great-hello-mystery-is-solved.html
i figured it was a hoax, hello has got to be an old word, older than the telephone at least.

besides, Graham Bell's girlfriend is UGLY. If he said anything when he picked up the phone it would most likely be "RALPH"
191  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Question about pigs and Islam on: October 21, 2015, 03:13:22 PM
I hear the pork is unclean for islam , because it comes from a pig, which is an unsanitary animal. islam allows the eating of clean animals such as cows and chicken etc.

This part is true from what I've been told

the belief comes from the fact they are a desert people and thousands of years ago, without refrigeration, it would be dangerous to eat pork. we have refrigeration now, the custom is no longer necessary, but try explaining that to a religious maniac. also try asking what is the difference between Halal and Kosher... the Jews and Muslims hate each other so much but to me they look and act pretty much the same.
192  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Justin Trudeau: 'I will be the prime minister of all Canadians' on: October 21, 2015, 03:08:55 PM
Trudeau, like his dad, had a huge advantage in his charisma. never a good reason to elect someone, but it beats the hell outta Harper. Mulcair on the other hand lost because he has zero charisma (not to mention a weak platform)

I remember Trudeau the 1st. dude was pretteh cool guy. smoked dope with the rolling stones, was in a bike gang in college... but he was a strong humanitarian leader with progressive ideas. his "soft on crime" policies were a good thing, look at the states and their Prison-Industrial-Complex... that is a terrible thing for a nation to become. Hopefully Trudeau Jr. has some of the wit and gumption of his old man. I seriously doubt he has as much "heart"
193  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Netanyahu admits Hitler did nothing wrong on: October 21, 2015, 03:00:15 PM
not sure about the whole Hitler/mufti thing but i do know that the holocaust was not a motivation for the US to go to war against Hitler. they were careful to barely mention it and not use it as propaganda to get recruits because the usa (and most of the western world) was rife with anti-semitism. things were a lot different before WWII
194  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Astronomers may have found alien megastructures orbiting star near the Milky Way on: October 21, 2015, 02:54:25 PM
scientists are nerds and nerds want to believe in aliens. its speculation and not really science but mostly scientists like to throw provocative headlines like this out there because it can translate into funding.
195  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-20]CCN-IS THE BITCOIN PRICE RISING DUE TO CHINESE DEMAND OR THE NEW... on: October 21, 2015, 11:29:09 AM
China could be moving the price as we see it now, but CNN fails to understand that the big spike to 1200 was caused by the willy bot at Gox

I'm sure we'll see continued exponential growth maybe even above 1200 but no spike like before. I also don't believe this "bubble" will last. We will see a correction in February or March.

The halving next year will cause a bubble though
196  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2015-10-16] CD: Winklevoss Exchange Gemini Struggling to Win Bitcoin Traders on: October 17, 2015, 05:13:14 PM
what the punters fail to realize is; what is the potential for another willy-bot gox-sploitation on this one(s) thee Winkies might actually be the true sons either/or the junk bonds 20 teens. probably, NOT?

it might sound like non-sense to you, dear gentle reader, but you would be sadly mistaken to assume so.

what we need here is LEADERSHIP google.com
197  Economy / Gambling / Re: Betting on Elections on: October 17, 2015, 04:21:24 AM
They are having the federal election here in Canada on Monday and it looks pretty tough to call.
So does the USA but it will look clearer closer to the ballot down there. It always does.
The Canadian election is tougher. We can get minority "wins" up here because our house works differently.
Some bookies will give odds. I would say they're pretty close (Tory and Liberals) with better odds on a Tory minority.
I'd like to see the odds. I might wager on that.

I'll like to roll that one out. my first bet with this type of bets...

Any suggestion or recomentdation to help me pick my King?

you see, this kind of wagering depends on having a bookmaker who would provide odds on the various outcomes. like a proper bookmaker would. remember Jimmy The Greek? He'd give odds on anything.

I'm not good enough to provide odds, but I would guess the Tories are going to take a minority rule.

we vote for members of parliament here, so theoretically you should be able to place bets for win place and show at each riding.

too complicated for me to figure, but I would love to peruse a betting sheet for this race. Its going to be tight.
198  Economy / Goods / Re: WTB antique toys on: October 17, 2015, 04:16:51 AM
I'm interested in old toys mainly trolls from the 60s and 70s especially Dam and Wishnik brands. These are old school troll dolls. No 80s or 90s crap please
With tags and original outfits are best

Also buying older and rarer Barbapapa figures depending...

If you got some post pics and I'll make you an offer

Have u checked on ebay ? there'r cool old trolls from 60's and 70's.

I regularly check ebay, but I want to do business using BTC and that's not an option on ebay. buying and selling goods with Bitcoin is what this sub is for.
199  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Up Like Trump on: October 17, 2015, 04:12:29 AM
The Donald is hilarious. remember when he was fighting Vince McMahon on WWE? He's a cartoon!

I have the perfect campaign slogan for him though

PUMP & DUMP TRUMP!
200  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't get tricked on: October 16, 2015, 09:06:48 PM
It's just a false bump. People are restless and thoughts of next years halving plus all sorts of positive media is causing some money to rush in. It will not last, but will rally again next year and bubble like crazy right when it halves.
Then btc will be seen as this reliable money making investment, every halving it will be guaranteed to explode then everyone will want some. We will then see growth Exponentially every halving. A powerball of market sentiment

If it does explode of course
