We have not sold ANY of the premine. The investment pool is actually about 3800 AIR over the 2,500,000 premine amount.
I think you could have confirmed this a lot earlier. Obviously there was a possibility you might have been selling premine, and i just think it would have helped if you'd let people know earlier that you were not.
1802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: /AIRcoin - Professional Investment, No Fees, Rising Exchange Rate on: March 24, 2014, 07:53:33 AM
Since we have invested heavily in hiring traders and equipment to maintain the exchange rate,
Just what does "heavily invested" mean?
They hired traders?  Have they now been fired?

wow great exchange rate Cheesy Wake up to see that i bought 1k air at .0002. LOL
Yep...I bought about the same amount, just above. Then sold most as the price shot up to 5 times that. But this time I don't feel so good, after seeing what has gone on with this coin.

Either someone is retarded and bought up all that aircoin just now or the devs are even more retarded and are now using all their btc to buy air as a desperate last measure.
I can't believe that just happened.
I gotta say after watching this all from early on, I feel for those who bought this coin only to watch it unravel the way it did. particularly as IIRC the people from Teamair were encouraging people to buy and hold around the .002 level.
1805  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 22, 2014, 08:41:36 AM
The number one problem with cryptocoins is a lack of sustainability. Forks, inflation, heavy mining, instability, and similar problems all make it impossible to be used as a legitimate financial instrument.
.
I think it would be helpful if you explained why you believe this.  Bitcoin seems to be progressing well. What is it that specifically prevents Bitcoin from being a "financial instrument"?

AIRcoin is backed by a trading algorithm that works, and works very well. It’s the most successful aspect of our coin
How much data did you look at to arrive at this claim?
How do you project the algorithm will work as the markets "mature"?
How do you project you will do as more people use algorithms in this space? Surely they will reduce any advantage you have?

We are incorporated in the USA, as well as licensed to operate in Illinois,.
What sort of license?

I know the fundamentals are strong and I am encouraging people to hold/buy. Hell, I can't resist these prices, gonna scrounge up a little BTC.
What do you mean by "the fundamentals are strong"?
Usually this language might be used when analysing a company. One might look at earnings, earnings growth, price to earnings ratio, discounted cash flow, or quite a few other metrics.
But how does one measure the "fundamentals" of Aircoin? And what is the relationship between these "fundamentals" and the Aircoin price?
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 20, 2014, 11:12:29 PM
I don't know how many times has been said in this forum that AIR is a long term coin.
Aircoin can only be alongterm coin if the model can work as the pool grows.
I think it is questionable they will be able to continue to benefit from market inefficiencies to anywhere near the same extent as the pool grows.
So that will mean they will be some kind of Index fund, IIUC, holding a basket of crypto coins. However they still have to pay expenses out of the pool too.
There is no clear plan released how this is achievable, and to get serious investors on board, I think they'd need to explain just how it will work a bit more thoroughly
1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 20, 2014, 12:03:57 PM

If you PAID to much for the coins you hold, you should think about buying more. (Sounds nuts right...)
You need to buy more at a lower price, duh! Especially when you see it lower than normal. (Bonus if you do the above suggestion.)

Why? Because buying 100 at $1.25 per coin, then buying 100 more at $0.75 on a decent dump... Your "price paid" for the 200 is only $1.00 each. You can now sell those for less of a loss, or for a gain, if the price rises to $1.00-$1.25 and never rises past that point. Otherwise you would have just lost, holding that 100 coins. (Ok, you need to compensate for trade-fees, but you get the idea.)

P.S. If you only have enough to buy 100 coins, never buy more than 1-10 coins at a time. If the price falls more, buy some more. You just lowered your cost per coin. (Um, if it is perpetually falling, take a loss and sell. Catch it at the bottom. Don't hold it all the way down.)
No, you should sell out, square up, clear you mind and then decide.
Doubling up can work, but it's twice as bad if it doesn't work.
There will be lot's of other opportunities.

this doesnt make any sense people are trusting traders? Does anyone here know that wall street cant even beat the dart board? Why would I want someone to invest for me?
It will work for them in the short term, but will stop working as anyone can do what they are doing IMHO. And more and more people have the same idea.
I encourage TeamAir to experiment and I'm glad they are doing so. I wish more and more people would do what they are. Experiment with crypto's. Try different ideas!
I don't think anyone "knows" what the crypto landscape will be in 12 months time.
1811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 20, 2014, 07:12:04 AM
If Teamair sell us premine and get our BTC, and then make more BTC. How does the buyer of AIR beneift? What does Teamair do with the BTC they make if the pool grows?

Can someone from AIR give a simple explanation, jjust so there is no misunderstanding.

Thank you

Great buy support devs.

Dumps all the way down to 0.00095.
Glad I had some bids in . I suspected this might happen again, so put some cheeky bids in, and it paid off.
1813  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 18, 2014, 10:00:47 PM
That means the pool has 1.8 BTC additional buying power in the market over the last 3 days, which helps explain how the price can rise.
So, does this work by you telling the community that you made some BTC (with no actual proof presented), then the community believes you and buys, which enables you to possibly sell premined coins into the market?

Is there some way people can verify what you are saying?
Just asking.
1814  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - 19th Largest Cryptocoin by Marketcap on: March 18, 2014, 07:26:04 AM
Many people try trolling AIRcoin in favor of other coins, but they go silent once I express the professionalism and transparency of the team,
What do you find transparent about this project. One of the criticisms I have voiced, and others, is the lack of transparency. But maybe you're seeing something I missed. Can you elaborate?
Thanks

It is a very sweet model, seems almost unfair really.
I just wonder how many of these operations the market will be able to bear. there is a very low barrier to entry.
An announcement out today from digitalBTC.
Quote
Further, digitalBTC will undertake Bitcoin trading activities for the account of CloudHashing.com through digitalBTC’s
existing trading operations – digitalBTC’s established trading desk trades Bitcoins over multiple exchanges taking
advantage of arbitrage and futures markets as well as implementing daily long/short strategies to create trading returns.

There must be a limit to how many trading firms can be sustained, and how much they can grow, particularly if they are all looking to benefit from mispricings and sell pumps and buy dumps. Smiley

I think also there is a big difference between strategies and algo's that work in deeper more liquid markets and ones which might possibly work with crypto markets. And we saw evidence of this already.

That said, I wish Teamair good luck. I am holding some but I'm certainly not a long term holder yet.

Hopefully team airs plans don't include sell walls going up, looking good for now, would still be nice to see 0.003 before it hits coin market cap.

Here is what they have said.

Because the investing pool holds more than 50% of the entire traded market at any time, it will always be able to meet buy and sell demands from the market through distribution algorithms. These formulas are derived from Stock Quantified Trading systems.
A pump is therefore met by an equivalent control rate from the pool, which sells currency off to keep the rate within a certain range, and then the dump is then kept high by buying back the coins at a lower price. .

In broad terms, if the price goes up they can or will sell, and if it goes down they can or will buy.

APH is giving a 25% higher return at current diff of 118. Try it if you can stand the volatility

What coin is APH?

Aphrodite Coin.....or Cyprus Coin. Smiley  The way to avoid Bail-ins!  Smiley

Remember, Milk was $0.05 a gallon at one time... Then everyone wanted it... It went to $0.25, then $1.50, then $3.00...
The price went up largely beacuse there were so many more dollars in existence. Simply compare inflation rates in say, the 19th century, with inflation rates following the changes that occurred in the 20th century in the USA.

1820  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] AIRcoin - Professional Investment, No Fees, Rising Exchange Rate on: March 17, 2014, 03:08:31 AM
That is not about "This coin", that is about mining in general. Yes, those are pumpers and dumpers and value-hoppers. The ones who rape coins value. Creating loss for others, making it not-profitable to mine, then abandoning it, and gambling on a coin of lower value, pumping it to make it look valuable. That was sort of the point. (Don't bitch because you couldn't RAPE US, and move on... Just move-on.) *Not directed at you.
Isn't that quite close to the TeamAir business model?

Won’t this hurt other currency’s exchange rates?

In the case of small, neglible, failing, and broken coins that are still being traded, Yes.

In the case of Bitcoin, Litecoin, and other high-market-capitalization coins, no.

AIRcoin operates on the law of Survival of the Fittest. Our traders will grow the pool of the total amount of AIRcoins out there, usually by trading aggressively with other, weaker currencies. However, the natural market movements of Litecoin, Bitcoin, and all of the Fiat Currencies can more than sustain the growth of the AIRcoin investing pool.

In an ideal case, every time another coin goes through a pump and dump, the AIRcoin team is paying close attention to the market and will use the opportunity to grow the investing pool. This means that while investing in AIRcoin, you are effectively investing in every coin as it is pumped, and selling every coin right before it dumps.

But this isn’t just about growing the investor’s money, it’s about the survival of the Cryptocoin as a legitimate currency. The economists at AIA believe that cryptocoin technology does have the potential to replace fiat currency, but it requires stable currencies that will survive longer than a few months. Many of these new coins are woefully undermanaged, created by programmers or schemers but with no real understanding of how markets work.
Emphasis mine.
