Now that Dacoinminster has attempted to close all Mastercoin threads on bitcoin to move the discussion to their forum - a forum which nobody includeing Ron or JR bother to post in, we need a new thread to discuss Mastercoin issues.
Give us your opinion about Mastercoin, the 'Internet of Money' related matters...
How's that 1:1 thing working out for you? Is MSC up to 1 BTC yet?

There are still a lot of people who believe in mining and they will not stop!
"believing' in mining won't help them. They will be stopped by economics which cause their electricity bill to exceed their bitcoin generation. That will stop them no matter what they believe.

With or without China, bitcoin will survive... but having them around sure helps the price sometimes.
This is bullshit. China does not 'help' the price. China is full of irresponsible wild speculators and rich people trying to illegally get money out of china. It really fucks up the bitcoin community because they cause these wild price swings which make dumb ass journalists write crazy articles about the technical defects of bitcoin where there are none (at least none that cause real price swings). China is totally fucking up bitcoin. We would be far better off if we could find a way to close all Chinese exchanges and prevent Chinese people from going crazy and panic buying and panic selling all the time. The instability caused by China and their stupid government is making me dizzy. But in the end, it won't matter one bit. Bitcoin valuation ultimately will be the same with or without China. The only thing which will go away are the wild swings in price both up and down. Do you REALLY think we don't need China? Of course we do!!!
Absolutely do not. With or without China - the value will be the same. With China - we get wild price swings.

3-D. Finally, you succeed! You also decide it is a lot less work to just pay for your coffee normally… Good story. I like this whole thing except the explanation about ' a lot less work to just pay...'. This might be true for coffee - but what about Lamborghinis?

I am not sure why, but I think it was a mistake. Is there any way I can return the coin to sender? This particular transaction happened on coinbase. This happens sometimes. It is the result of a thing called 'address collision'. While some stupid bitcoiners think it can only happene once in a blue moon, it is actually not that infrequent. Computers which generate addresses don't bother to look up whether or not a so called 'new address' has already been generated and used. When you computer generates a new address, it is totally possible that the address generated was generated previously and used by another person. The bitcoin protocol doesn't include anything to prevent this. Stupid eh? When you got this transaction unexpectedly last night, it was probably just another person trying to make a bitcoin transaction on the same channel (address) that you were using. This is just like a citizen's band radio where two conversations might occupy the same channel. In bitcoin, there is no "breaker-breaker 1 - 9 ". So there you have it: just another address collision. Nothing at all to worry about. Send the money back and hope it doesn't happen again. Actually, the odds are pretty low this could every happen to the same person another time so don't expect to see it again for several years, maybe even more than a decade. It's that rare. can this be implemented? it's only gonna get worse as more people use bitcoin? Yeah, it can be implemented. Some coders I know are working on a pull request for bitcoin 9.1 which will have a 'previously used address' checking module. It won't even be difficult. I estimate about 35 lines of code max. These guys are talking with Gavin and a few others about how to do it the best way. It is pretty rare - so don't worry too much about it 'getting worse as more people use bitcoin' - although that is technically correct.

Bloomberg is talking about bitcoin being more than just a currency. That bitcoin is rather more like 'The Internet of Money'. I think this quote is attributed to Bitcoin business angels group BitAngels - David Johnston. It is actually a very interesting notion. While the conventional Internet is a mechanism for doing many cool things with information (content), i.e. facebook, videos, email, Skype, MMOG, et cetera, bitcoin actually supports an infrastructure which will permit one to do so many cool things with value (money). The "Internet of Money". I like that. Obviously bitcoin is going to be insanely powerful in this regard. I just hope it doesn't take 20 years the way it took the internet that long to get to where it is now. (i.e. from 1994 / Netscape - Thanks Marc) http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-03-28/bitcoin-2-0-shows-technology-evolving-beyond-use-as-money.html

I want coins cheap, but more importantly I want them fast, looking to buy daily and in cash or bank transfer. How can I go about this? Is there a resource to find miners that are selling. I would love some guidance. Would love to pay bitstamp rates but will pay 1% over I just posted here also https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=547629.new#newOnly a drug dealing money launderer trades in this volume and can't wait for 'ach' - as if the waiting is the hardest part. You are doing yourself in - this place is crawling with cops. No problem, bitcoin doesn't need more people in that business anyway. bye-bye.

Bet you 100 BTC that site will end up sucking and out of business within 2 years.
Of course. After all, their administrators make very dumb business decisions like spending insane amounts of money for dumb domain names.

Overstock is still not accepting BTC from international customers.
How/why does this even happen? Because 'international customers' include filthy Russians who might try to jam up the system with fraud attempts. America customers typically don't attempt so much fraud.

He (Gay-Bouchery) reiterated the company’s claim that withdrawal problems were merely a technical issue, and that “all the coins are safe”. They've contradicted themselves on numerous occasions, they have no respect for customers, they've had several security glitches, and they've been caught in numerous lies. This is how French do business. It is normal.

Why do I need a brand new USB drive that has been never used before!?
This is only necessary for the crazy wicked extremely paranoid. You'll probably do fine by just reformatting an old one 17 times before using it. The OP doesn't consider the fact that the new USB may have been prepared with a bitcoin stealing virus by the guy who sold it at Radio Shack. New USBs are also not safe. The only true way to be safe is to go to the beach and get some sand and make a USB drive and use that one. Be sure not to let anyone near the sand before you form it into a USB drive.

Russia tried to kill bitcoin with laws, China tried to kill it with hysteria, Thai tried to kill it with confusion, France tried to kill it with incompetent computer programmers. Only France was able to succeed. Never underestimate the level of incompetence of the French IT community.

They have their own keyboard layout and labels - explains it all
Do they have the minus key where the plus key should be? That might explain everything.

The French don't seem to have many successes in IT. Now, they have one of the biggest failures: Empty Gox. Did Karpeles and Gonzague Gay-Bouchery forever soil the reputation of the French IT community by having shoddy computer management cause $450million to go missing? Did the French destroy bitcoin with incompetence?

English. No. I think it is Chinese. English is much easier to read (unless you are mandarin!).
