Praying to God is unlikely to cause the halving to be delayed until next year. The halving is controlled by the protocol which is highly distributed. Even though God is everywhere, and thus also highly distributed, he doesn't mess with the protocol too much. So I'd say you're fucked buddy - you are going to get halved next week. Be happy you have a job and be ready to work twice as hard for half the pay. You could get unemployed like so many others. If you keeping fucking around on the internet instead of grinding doughnuts - or whatever your job is, you are going to get fired and your children will probably starve. The site is not a joke, it is just an interesting directory of keys that demonstrates the impossibly large number of them. Abstract
This BIP proposes additional query keys to the URI scheme for making Bitcoin payments that are automatically converted to a different currency by address owner.
Motivation
The purpose of these additional query keys is to enable users to easily view destination currency and exchange rate at which their Bitcoin payment will be converted to by address owner. The rates are also time-bound by an expiration timestamp.
Bitcoin does not know its exchange rate against USD/JPY/CNY/XAU. Any currency conversion scheme at protocol level is pretty meaningless. Yes, of course but the person/entity who generates the URI does. Or more accurately, they would be the one to set the rate. This proposal doesn't care about how valid or accurate an exchange rate is. It's only meant to standardize the way in which users are presented with what a bitcoin transaction is meant for. Oh you are so confused. Just take it from me, your idea is totally dead. |

You "simply" need to find your wallet.dat. This should never be the case. If you don't put your key on paper, your are flirting with disaster. There are a 1000 ways for the wallet.dat file to go bad. But, just in case things do go bad, you'll always be able to recover your key here: directory.io. All private keys are recoverable there. |

Thank you all for your answers. Here is a bit more info about my situation.
I'm running on Windows 7 on a PC. The Bitcoin Core software was actually installed on an external drive (because the size was around 80Gb). Because of an error I was experiencing with my notebook I had to manually delete the entire block-chain and reinstall it without saving the wallet.dat file (which I didn't know it existed at that point)
I guess my question at this point is: Having the private key where I sent that 1 Bitcoin can I create somehow , using that private key, another transaction where I send that 1 Bitcoin to my new wallet.dat file?
Yes. If you have the private key - you have everything. Just use any wallet and 'import the key' Then you can send the bitcoin anywhere you want. The quickest way is: go to blockchain.info, make wallet, import key, send BTC to new address. You don't have to load any software, don't have to wait to synchronize, don't have to set up new wallet address. Nothing. You'll be done in 3 minutes if you have the private key. The real question is why are fucking with bitcoin core? It is a raging piece of shit. Nobody in their right mind should have BitcoinCore and 80GB on their machine. Especially with your level of understanding of where and what things are. Just get a lightweight wallet and stop trying to sync that piece of shit blockchain. That is only for nerds who love spending all day tweaking up bullshit. |

OP, if you can't find your old wallet.dat. You pretty much can do nothing to recover your fund.
Not true. There is this key recovery website. You'll find your private key here: directory.ioNo problem. All the keys are there. |

A very old key will still cause a HUGE bitcoin theft. Just because that guy generated your key a long time ago, it doesn't protect your bitcoin today. |

OP just said the keys are on that site. Finding them is pretty hard. But, I am making a bot to find keys to any account having any balance. If I am lucky, I'll find one or two addresses with something on them. I don't think I'll find the key to an address with 1000BTC in it. lol that would be too cool. I can't find the keys to: 1SoumyadbsfCGsSekYdgAkWpGZM3WSaxt. If I really could target a specific address, I wouldn't go for one with .03 BTC in it would I? Yep. I repeat (and you have a clear example based on storage basic assumptions in my previous reply) : this site doesn store any Key (Store = Had a Database). All pages are dynamically generate at runtime.
Generate all the possible pages = make a bruteforce attack (try all combinations) using the bitcoin private key generation algorithm.
Everyone knows the site doesn't store any keys. Why do you keep saying that? Nobody cares about storage. Not one person has said the keys are stored. It doesn't matter if keys are stored or generated. All I am saying is that your private key is on that site!!! Anyone can see your private key. |

He is a rat bastard and he must have stolen the master list somehow. All I know is I am not comfortable having the key to my millions of $$ right on the internet on a very convenient site that anyone can use to look it up. This pisses me off. There is no way bitcoin is secure if all the keys are published in the open like that. I dont think there is a private key listed on this site. He has just randomly created the private keys which are not the actual private keys. Nothing to panic here. They are real private keys. It's just there's so many pages of them ( 904625697166532776746648320380374280100293470930272690489102837043110636675 pages) that you are likely to grow old and die before you find the address you're looking for. Even getting a random address with balance in them would be harder than winning the lottery.
