One of the Dev's just replied, that the backup-function ("12-backup-words") for Android will come during this week.
Thanks , great news, i will reconsider the ICO Grin
The Android backup is now backup with the 12 words, thanks for this quick update.

It already is? I didn't know that they are that fast! Nice! Smiley
1802  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 28, 2016, 01:42:56 AM
I'm interested. I've downloaded the app. But is there anywhere else I can store them apart from my phone?

The current status is:

IOS - already has a 12-words-backup-feature. Means, that if one installs the App, writes down the 12 words, he will be able to recover the wallet if his phone should be damaged. The recovery-feature itself is not implemented yet, but planned for this week.

But again: Who writes down the 12 words is already safe.

Android - the 12-words-feature is not implemented yet, but will also be released this week. First without recovery function.

It was a topic on their slack yesterday. So, it depends on what system you use. If Android, maybe wait for that feature.

What is also planned: Cold storage. I've asked one of their Dev's if they could make it possible to generate keys offline and to implement a feature to import offline generated private keys and so on. Reply was: "yes, we'll put it in the developent tasks"

No other coin has such strong venture backing by equivalent of Nasdaq (actually Deutsche Boerse is a bigger company than Nasdaq with 15 billion $ marketcap).
What exactly does it mean that the Deutsche Boerse "backs" them?
Backs them how, in  what way?

Bump.

It's not deutsche Börse as company. It's this:

"Olsen founded Lykke in Zurich and received initial seed funding in 2015. In May 2016, Lykke closed a second seed round where the new shareholders included angel investors Marco Brockhaus and Carlo Koelzer, founding partner of 360T’s Group Executive Board and member of Deutsche Börse Group Management Committee."

1804  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][rICO]Antshare ICO Statistics & Lottery Draw Announced! on: September 27, 2016, 08:29:26 PM
did they already give a launch day yet?

Yes. October or early November. But the CEO already said:

According to the current develop progress, I'll say it will be launched no later than October.

Any news on exchanges it would likely be traded apart from Liqui

This is the current status regarding exchanges:

hmm. Well when can we trade ant shares?

If nothing changed the main-net will be launched most likely in October or early November. Regarding exchanges:

"there will be both China-based and foreign exchanges, right after the Mainnet Launch (a few days)."

https://www.reddit.com/r/Antshares/comments/531fli/when_antshares_will_be_avialable_in_the_market/d7qsdvm

I hope for the combination of bigger chinese exchanges, maybe even Huobi (if you look at their team: fordmer Dev's of Huobi involved) and/or some others --> plus Poloniex.

If that should happen this won't come close back to it's ICO-price.

Thank you!

We do have team members who were formerly senior Huobi/BTCC exchange members.
But it really depends on their own strategy, as they are very senior and established exchanges in China.

Yunbi is a very good exchange in China for Alts. Laomao has a very sound reputation for selecting nice coins, and the exchange is backed by Li Xiaolai, the richest Chinese by bitcoin.

In the west, Bittrex, Shapeshift and Poloniex are all good exchanges, we are in good communication.

Also, we welcome new exchanges to get in touch with us, since you can tell after Antshares there will be more Chinese projects popping out, also triggering greater Chinese capital involvement.

I am not giving any implication. But it is certainly of no surprise for a promising project like Antshares to received wide recognition.

Realy pretty animation Smiley Good work !

Agree! I really like it to see that Factom starts to improve on all fronts. Seems like "preparing for bigger steps". ;-)
1807  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 02:21:10 PM
I'm not sure who said that there is a backing of $15B.

No other coin has such strong venture backing by equivalent of Nasdaq (actually Deutsche Boerse is a bigger company than Nasdaq with 15 billion $ marketcap). But we're more focused on product than marketing, so it might take 3-6 months before major outlets notice.

Do you realize how ridiculous this sounds? Market cap of NASDAQ is close to $7 TRILLION.........

No, Nasdaq is valued at 12B$ - http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/NDAQ?ltr=1

Deutsche Börse ist valued at 13.6B$ - http://finance.yahoo.com/quote/DB1.F/?p=DB1.F

DB is a more valuable company than Nasdaq. DB is an investor into Lykke coins/shares via 360T subsidiary. Its just that many outside Europe often have not heard of the company, where as Nasdaq is more well known.

Ok, I see. I'm not sure if he wanted to say that. I only know the info that founding partners of http://www.360t.com invested in Lykke. And LykkeX is somebody who helps them but he is not Richard Olsen himself or one of the core team. I would count that as misunderstanding for now.
1808  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 02:00:32 PM
1. I didn't implied that Lykke bought you, I implied that you probably invested in the project.
2. What pearls? "We're backed by the DB with $15B market cap, but we are asking for YOUR money" type?

Anyways... good luck.

1. Yes, I'm invested but not even with much money until now. I wait for Factom to go up to invest some of the profits in Lykke. I'm just not sure if Factom will do me that favor. ;-)

2. With pearls I mean those projects that not just show an innovative idea with some words and nice design, but are able to deliver such an idea  with high quality.

I'm not sure who said that there is a backing of $15B. There is the info that:

"(...) In May 2016, Lykke closed a second seed round where the new shareholders included angel investors Marco Brockhaus and Carlo Koelzer, founding partner of 360T’s Group Executive Board and member of Deutsche Börse Group Management Committee."

That's a difference.
1809  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 01:47:39 PM
They themselves say that they don't even focus on the ICO to get money since they already are well funded.

See the red flag here? Don't get me wrong, I'm not hating Lykke and I haven't even researched it, but I'm just tired of seeing big promises (and "people who matters" asking for money from the masses). I already know that you have your interest (and probably money) in that project and I wish you luck from the bottom of my heart.

But this would not change the fact that cryptocurrencies are turning into a scene from where random people are trying to squeeze more FIAT money.

If you check my post history you'll see that I have my own opinion and that I discuss this way in Factom, Antshares and Lykke, because that are my main-investments - Factom is my Nr. 1 by the way. To imply that Lykke would have bought my opinion is bullshit.

But I agree with you that it can be frustrating to see hundreds of projects that come up with big promises, asking for money but never deliver anything or at least nothing of value. That doesn't change the fact that there are also some really good projects out there. Factom is one of them in my opinion. Antshares hopefully will be one of them.

Lykke already has delivered! This is not just about showing a whitepaper, a nice designed HP and asking for money. Their exchange is already working! And you can use it for free. You don't have to buy in their ICO.

It's true to say "cryptocurrencies are turning into a scene from where random people are trying to squeeze more FIAT money." for Crypto in general. But it's not true for each single project, because there are pearls between Crypto-garbage, with great innovations and skilled teams who are able to deliver what's promised.
1810  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 01:34:59 PM
Has Nick Szabo confirmed he is associated with Lykke in any way?

What you can watch is this.

Nick Szabo on Blockchains and Smart Contracts
"To discuss the future of society Lykke starts a series of open education seminars on Future of the World Economy featuring innovative industry practitioners and forward-looking academics.
The first seminar on Blockchains and Smart Contracts was led by Nick Szabo, a pioneer of Bitcoin. "
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tWuN2R2DC6c

So, it's safe to say that Richard Olsen (CEO of Lykke) and Nick Szabo know each other.

And if Lykke would publish this:

Bitcoin Legend Nick Szabo Joins Lykke Advisory Board
https://lykke.com/city/blog/2016-05-30/bitcoin_legend_nick_szabo_joins_lykke_advisory_board

...but being dishonest about it, Nick Szabo would deny it and Lykke would get the worst media-echo ever.

P.S.: If Lykke would want to lie about those things they should claim that they have Satoshi Nakamoto - he wouldn't deny. Cheesy

I think this is no issue, to get someone on an advisory role is easy, it is quite different from joining the development team. Most of these move is for marketing purpose

Nick Szabo on their advisory board is just one single information. And sure, you could make up theories about "Szabo needed money and they gave him some to use his name" or whatever. But it's also possible that since he and Richard Olsen obviously know or at least have met each other (watch the video), Nick Szabo, who really is a Bitcoin-specialist, can give advice to a company that uses that Bitcoin-Blockchain as base.

But again: One single information is nothing. Everything needs to be seen in the whole context. And in my opinion this is a great project if it's not seen just superficial.

My usual experience is, that something ("a" project) looks good on first sight but the more I learn the more I want to step away and that's what I usually do. In Lykke it's the total opposite. I had a lot of concerns when I first looked into it, but the more I've learned about it the more I think that this could turn out as one of a very few Blockchain-projects that very well may have big impact. And not just in Crypto but more as a bridge between Crypto and the rest of the world.
1811  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 01:26:39 PM
Can we cut the crap? Smiley Let me try to make a story:

1. We have great ideas.
2. We have a great team.
3. We are backed by the DB, which happens to be an stock exchange with over $15B market cap.
4. Give us your money, we know how to handle them.

You ask me if we could cut out the crap? While I try to provide facts it's you who is writing about his nose, his girlfriends pussy and now you come up with "let me try to make a story".

What they basically say is:

1. This is Lykkes Idea
2. This is the team behind Lykke
3. This is what already is delivered
4. There were previous funding rounds, here are additional infos
5. If you want, invest in Lykke.
6. If you don't want to invest, feel free to use Lykkes service and it's for free.

They themselves say that they don't even focus on the ICO to get money since they already are well funded. They just make first steps into the public because in the end it will be about their product, their market/exchange.

And, what they also say is: Nobody need to buy LKK-shares to use what they provide for free. You can download their App for free and it's already working and it already is very user-friendly. Plus: 0% fee and as far as I know it will stay there.

https://lykke.com/lykkewallet/

Plus: Since the exchange is semi-decentralized (or semi-centralized) it is more secure.

Tech-overview: https://lykke.com/technology.php

Even Bitcoiners who wouldn't ever buy a colored coin or any other project will like it. I have no doubt about that, because if you have in mind how many people lost a lot of money because of exchange-hacks or fraud-exchanges, Lykke will have success if they just keep on with the good fundamentals.

I mean, unlike a lot of other projects, they don't come up with nothing but a whitepaper that was written in 3 hours. They work on this since years. But of course, you can use everything to become spartak_t the story-teller. ;-)
1812  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lykke raises 500k$ through ColoredCoins on: September 27, 2016, 12:59:14 PM
I smell a scam here.

And do you have arguments to use that word?

Just my hunch... nothing more. They are claiming to be backed by the Deutsche Borse, but I'm quite sure that these are just "big words" to made them look better and DB haven't heard of Lykke. I may be wrong that this could be a scam, but I am 100% convinced that they are not "playing fair".

What you need to know is that Richard Olsen (CEO of Lykke) has deep connections into the financial world. He is the Co-Founder of Oanda and he is something like an economical scientist and very well respected.

And that claim you are speaking about. You can find infos about it before you use words like "scam":

OANDA’s Richard Olsen Launches Lykke Wallet for iOS Devices
The OANDA co-founder and former CEO is creating a new blockchain-based P2P zero-commission trading platform.

Olsen founded Lykke in Zurich and received initial seed funding in 2015. I have deep connections with my gf's pussy and she's like f*cking gorgeous, but so what? I respect the guy and still haven't said anything against Lykke, but let's stop with these big claims. I just said that I have a hunch, and its backed just with my first thoughts... no matter how anyone would accept it.

Not sure if this topic should be about your personal life, but congrats to your "connections".

To say you wouldn't have said anything against Lykke and your wish to "stop with these big claims" seems a little bit paradox, because it's you who used the word scam - against Lykke and that is a big claim.

At least if you don't have arguments to underline it while there are enough informations to inform yourself before using that word.

1. Thank you.
2. I am just random bitcointalk troll who has some doubts and I'm not asking for money from the masses to trust them.
3. Read 2.

Nothing wrong about it to have doubts. Everybody should have nearly every time. But it's not unimportant to know "why" and to find out what's wrong and what is right.

And regarding "I'm not asking for money from the masses to trust them": It's always the question if an investment is a win-win-situation, or at least with the potential for it, or not. I personally believe this project very well could be a win-win, even if I had a lot of concerns in the beginning as well. But the more I learn about it the more I believe this could turn out as a pearl in this crypto-swamp.

And yes, trust is always the major point. That's why my recommendation always is to focus on teams first, which is great in this case:

i am still waiting for wallet !

what took them so long to develop the wallet?
i can't believe the team can't do it in a day. its been two weeks already and yet we can't see any progress, it they can't create a wallet then at least list them on exchanges for we could use the wallet on exchange.

Since the beginning they were open about the time-line and that the main-net will launch in October or early November. It would be kind of weird if they would rush it out in September because of the daily complaints. ;-)

Was ist denn heute los?
