1821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: June 09, 2014, 07:44:38 PM
Any plans for a LTC dice site?

LTC?  Ew, no!

Just to add my 0.02, I would invest in LTC dice, at the moment my LTC is just sitting dormant.

A lot of us would

Doge has a huge community but LTC has a big one as well
1822  Economy / Gambling / Re: EveryDice.com | 0.99% Edge - Instant Cashout - Invest - Referral - Mobile - Fair on: June 09, 2014, 07:41:09 PM
great site with good design.I think you should also start sig campaigns in order to attract more players and investors.

The owner has run away already, the site is dead, and you are saying it is great lol. Cheesy

Before trying to boost your post count, please spend 5 seconds checking the site...
really i can not believe.I think we should not believe any new gambling site.Pd and Jd are enough for the community to entertain themselves

Not rly . More competition means more giveaways ,better faucets and so on.

Yeah, competition is good because it  makes them progress.

And btw, I liked ED design lot more than PD or JD.

Who cares about ED design now!

If we had only one big trusted casino the rake would be 8%, SD rake was much higher than PD and JD

Going to the 700s this week. We have to Smiley There's just been so much good news.

Going way higher in the next few months and probably a bit higher this week; I voted 670$
1824  Economy / Gambling / Re: [dicenow.com] btc/ltc casino - 10,000 rolls per click - play/invest - multi edge on: June 09, 2014, 05:31:28 PM
he must be the one who invested into the LTC house lol Cool

The site has been up for 8months which doesn't mean it will not shut down but it is safer than a 1month old website; apparently investors in the bitcoins roll have made a nice return so far; I still find it weird that there are 3 different casino edge
It is designed to be a system of handling multiple edged games (not only dice... but the remaining such as roulette in planned). Since some people would rather invest with more return, 3 % pool will suit them. While on the gambler side, since they wanna bet big and 1% pool might not have enough fund for them to bet against, 2% and 3% pool will be extra reserve for whales.

hope this explains well enough

Most the money is invested in the 1% pool so you can't bet more on the 2% or 3% pool than on the 1%'s

Some players may make the mistake to play the 2 or 3% dice games but I still don't see any benefit in that for them
1825  Economy / Economics / Re: Would people pour their cash into bitcoin given a stock market crash? on: June 09, 2014, 05:29:59 PM
That article is nothing more then speculation. No one really knows then there will be a stock market crash. If they did not certainly would not advertise it, they would simply sell stocks short and buy put options.

To answer your question, a stock market crash would cause the price of BTC to fall as stock market crashes cause people to become more risk adverse and BTC carries a lot of risk.

We are likely to keep seeing a nominale increase in the price of stocks as the FED prints more USD and the USA goes into more debt to buy some growth and some time
Companies that are natural ressources related or sell in the so called developing work will fare greatly but a market crash or two and a few big wars will happen before the developing countries become richer than most the western world
1826  Economy / Economics / Re: Worst bitcoin decision you've ever made? on: June 09, 2014, 05:26:43 PM
Not CPU mining in early 2009 for three months until difficulty started to increase.

Three months of CPU mining would be worth around $12,000,000 today.

Did you know that the original Bitcoin-qt client mined when it was running? So, everyone who had it installed mined a ton.

You could mine some BTC at the very beginning with the client

You could mine a ton if you learned how to build a mining rig

I hope you are right Smiley that would be great Smiley
Too many people here are not patient enough to get rich. Just wait and hodl.

Bitcoin = The Ultimate Get Rich Quick Scheme.  Roll Eyes

Not that quick and it hard to hodl.  Think about it, the people who bought coins for very cheap have some major balls to hold for this long.  Many people sold when it went to 100 or even when they made a thousand bucks. When at any point it can go to 0.  If you hold in this crazy market, you DESERVE the reward.

I don't have balls but I hodl. Wink

Of course the price of "very cheap" coins is debatable.  $650 might be "very cheap" a year from now!

And 650 was very cheap last November.

Some members thinks the price should go back to 200$ so they think 650$ is way overvalued but I think it is still extremely cheap because it's only an 8Billions market cap in an overvalued American Dollar
1828  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC reach $50,000? on: June 09, 2014, 05:17:01 PM
The potential of Bitcoin is still tremendous. 24/7 unblocked low charge instant payments are here to stay. The disintermediate nature of the Internet will also capture the world of finance and take a part of the payment business. If Bitcoin continues to survive, $50k is still in the cards.

That is the hope, Bitcoin is a great protocole that solves tens of problems; the banking system sometimes feels very slow and inconvenient compared to Bitcoin

2095 will reach 50k
wont edit this post as i will be dead on that time lol

1829  Economy / Speculation / Re: $10,000 when? on: June 09, 2014, 05:16:00 PM
It will take many, many years. I used to have a false hope that I'll earn a ton in a few months but now I realise the truth. It will be a slow ride up hill. Bitcoin will rise but in a more steady way.

It was going down for a few months but when it goes up it goes up fast

I can feel the huge positive news around the corner and the huge negative news about the USD or the western financial system that will push the price to thousands then tens of thousands extremely fast

Martingale would work if you had infinite BTC.

Which is not even technically possible Grin

1831  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin will plummet to $10 by first half of 2014 on: June 09, 2014, 05:13:00 PM
There were the same haters when bitcoin was less than $1. Now that the price has multiplied by 500x how many of those haters do you think have changed their tune? When the price hits $100,000 and they missed the boat, they will bash bitcoin even more still, because they will be so angry they missed out. Just makes me smile Smiley

If they didn't buy at $1, it is even less likely they will buy when price is this high.

A lot of people didn't even know Bitcoin existed then. People still try to adopt and buy at this price. Not many, but still... One by one.

Only a few people knew it existed

The haters should buy some bitcoins and hold Wink
1832  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: I have 3 Million USD to invest into Crypto Currency - How should I do it? on: June 09, 2014, 05:11:23 PM
Whatever you decide...diversify!!  Don't keep all your eggs in one proverbial basket.  Way too many shammsters out there.

A good way to play Bitcoin is to buy Bitcoin, pure and simple

Starting a few small Bitcoin businesses if he has the time or get connected to Bitcoin entrepreneurs
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Just-Dice.com : Invest in 1% House Edge Dice Game on: June 09, 2014, 05:08:00 PM
Great job this week guys.  Your coins worked hard for us and somehow managed to retain over 5% of the amount wagered!

Quote

Jun  9 2014     2.06%   142.75%

Can you please clarify this? You said there was a 5% retention (ie. house edge) but the profit was only 2.06%?

Sorry if that was confusing.  Over the week, the amount wagered was 17754.48434936 BTC and the profit from that was 962.1460573 BTC.  That profit is 5.419% of the amount wagered.

Through the week, the size of the bankroll was around 46k BTC.

If you were contributing to the site's bankroll for the whole week, your contribution will have grown by 2.06%.

The 962 BTC profit is roughly 2% of the 46k BTC bankroll.

Note that I did write I was listing "the 10 most recent weekly returns" - return as in the percentage growth experienced by anyone contributing to the bankroll that week.

So there are two different numbers:

* 5% : the effective house edge (profit as a percentage of amount wagered),
* 2% : the return to investors (profit as a percentage of the bankroll).

It is very clear, it was a great week for investors

On the last 14 days 2190BTC were wagered everyday in average so an expected profit of 21.9BTC/day or 657BTC/month => 1.4%/month or 18%/year with the compounded interests
1834  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC reach $50,000? on: June 09, 2014, 12:33:01 PM
Does anyone realistically think that Bitcoin will ever reach $50k? Don't get me wrong, I'd be more than happy if it reach even 1 zillion but...

I find it interesting that nobody seems to understand that it's somewhat completely arbitrary what the value of each Bitcoin might be. It's like asking questions like: Do you really think people will even spend a trillion dollars on website names (in total). Do you really think a single website could be worth a billion dollars?! etc..

Bitcoin is has been around $1000 with almost zero adoption (.3%). I think this all has to do with people thinking in terms of 'a single bitcoin' but honestly like stock splits one day we will probably talk about millibits or Satoshis. Do you ever think a Satoshi will be worth 10 cents!? (That would make a bitcoin worth $10,000,000)

When Bitcoin hits 10,000 we will probably opt to start referring to things in millibits on exchanges and forums and questions like this will seem silly. If it takes over several markets and is ever used as a store of value like Gold, then yes 50,000 doesn't even seem strange. Without all of the splits microsoft has had, how much would a single stock be worth?  (looks like $8,000 now, and $17,740 at its highest) It's the splits that confuse people , back then talking about a single share ever reaching  $17,740 would have seemed silly.

The value of all bitcoins isn't totally arbitrary, it is a function of supply and demand

can someone tell me in pm when it will reach 50k, defeats the purpose if everyone knows..
come on.. someone.. be a pal!!

Bah... I missed the opportunity to sell again. Could have bought 20 more BTC.

What do you mean? Price is still near the 3month ATH
1836  Economy / Gambling / Re: EveryDice.com | 0.99% Edge - Instant Cashout - Invest - Referral - Mobile - Fair on: June 09, 2014, 12:29:38 PM
Ed is gone. He told 1DiCe1 he had to investigate bets because investors could not believe the deviation. He also told 1DiCe1 that no seeds were leaked and implied without stating that her betting was legit and he just needed to make investors happy.
What he told them, I don't know. Maybe they can contribute to this thread..?
All of a sudden he's in bad health and out of town, which is believed (proven?) to be in China, but still logging in to forum and skype for time to time. No more communication added.

If I were to make a guess, he's still very active in the forum with (one of) his alt(s), and running other businesses atm.

Lastly, where's P-4747 that pulled out ~50btc during ddosing at the last moments of the site? Ever thought about this player and why that ddos attack?

I though about it but who knows? ED was implying it may be 1Dice1 and it is weird that an other new player wins huge after 1Dice1's wins

"after new player P-4747 won additional ~50 BTC (so far P-4747 has not contacted us)." : I don't think they sent him his winnings

Why isn't he getting red tag by doing this ?

Only one feedback on ED trust page : "Do not trust. Withholding MASSIVE amounts of BTC after an "exploit" (note: most likely made up to get out of paying some large winnings) was found."

1837  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does martingale really works? on: June 09, 2014, 12:27:03 PM
I really think the folks arguing here would get more out of it if they would just stop and read the wikipedia article on martingale betting strategy.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Martingale_(betting_system)

Yes there are a lot of feelings and misconceptions in this thread

" It is therefore a good example of a Taleb distribution – the gambler usually wins a small net reward, thus appearing to have a sound strategy. However, the gambler's expected value does indeed remain zero (or less than zero) because the small probability that he will suffer a catastrophic loss exactly balances with his expected gain. (In a casino, the expected value is negative, due to the house's edge.) The likelihood of catastrophic loss may not even be very small. The bet size rises exponentially. This, combined with the fact that strings of consecutive losses actually occur more often than common intuition suggests, can bankrupt a gambler quickly."
1838  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will bitcoin ever reach $1000 dollars again? on: June 08, 2014, 08:53:46 PM
To be honest the 10k thread is more interesting right now! :>

1000$ is a realistic price and we will reach it in some months or sooner, 10000$ is still an ipothetical value which btc should have during 2015 or 2016.

Yet it will feel extremely good when the price hit 1000$ because optimism&positive news will come back
1839  Economy / Speculation / Re: Week 24: up or down? on: June 08, 2014, 08:52:52 PM
We end the week sub 700$ but we may cross 700$ during the week because it is likely that the price will not move too much but I think there is more chance for the price to go up than down because of the positive sentiment and trend and because of the fundamentals
1840  Other / Off-topic / Re: House prices on: June 08, 2014, 08:51:05 PM
I agree about the EU part, here in out capital city an decent flat costs around 100k euros while average monthly payment is 300-1000.

Where are you living?
