1821  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero is boring and and devotees buy and sell to each other via Poloniex on: July 18, 2015, 08:32:41 AM
By the way some time ago one of XMR devs was accused of spamming competitor coins. These days XMR forks spam non-stop BTC forum.

A decent coin does not spam! There are better ways to market a coin.

Short us into bankcruptcy if you think Monero is a bubble.
1822  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero is boring and and devotees buy and sell to each other via Poloniex on: July 18, 2015, 07:39:46 AM
Short Monero, otherwise you are mere pussies.
1823  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: July 18, 2015, 07:28:12 AM
I'm seeing all the forum spam and FUD as an indication of upward price movement in the near term. The volume on Poloniex has been quite low, and the trolls are likely trying to suppress an inevitable surge. I predict their efforts will backfire.

That very well could be, don't forget there was a guy in the trollbox last week that sold 20 BTC worth at 0.002. He claimed to have 80k XMR where that came from.

He said that he was selling because he could buy it lower. I didn't believe him at the time but here we are.

That's playing foolish though. Selling to buy not even 10% lower in this market with this asset?

The speculators are doing a favor to the community as they give markets to the buyers when the price increases and there is more demand and they are giving markets for the dumpers.
10 % is a nice gain IMHO. Stock markets give you 5-6  % p.a. over long run (100 years or so) so 10 % within a couple weeks is quite good.
Indeed there was a shortage of short sellers (and still is, therefore the rates are at minimum they can go) so he had opportunity to act like a short seller and dump in order to rebuy lower.
1824  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STOP THIS MONERO SPAM NOW on: July 17, 2015, 08:51:43 PM
This is part of the new marketing actions in order to reach new target groups for Monero. Doubt it will be successful this way  Grin

Monero core team here.

Please tell me more about our new marketing actions, since we know nothing about them.

Also, I don't agree with all the threads that have been opened, and would respectfully suggest the idiots opening them direct their efforts to the Monero forum and leave Bitcointalk out of it: https://forum.getmonero.org

Feel free to quote the above message to the new thread starters.

Thanks for giving a statement as a core team member.. Everybody is starting to hate Monero.. It is not for the good of the coin..

Nobody starts hating Monero.
Just a few trolls here claiming Monero is doomed etc.

28 btc of volume.

Calm before the storm.
1826  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Anyone got rich with altcoins (with small amount) ? on: July 17, 2015, 06:14:54 PM
I recommend to consider Monero.
However, as you said - it is important to hold it patiently. Buy some coins now and send them to your mymonero-wallet and come back 1-2 years from now. You might end up being a millionaire or even a billionaire (depend how many coins you are owning), in fiat terms of course even if bitcoin dumps big time.

from my personal experience, i would never put my trust in any altcoin ever more than a couple of months tops. all of them are good for getting in and out of quickly without any hesitation Smiley

for all i know 1-2 years from now ....coin can be worth 1 satoshi like a lot of them that are at those levels now and 1-2 years ago people were claiming the same thing you are today.

This applies directly to shitcoins. Here is a video on how to make money with shitcoins: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6P2FB9Mg_YI

However, Monero is not among those shitcoins.
Monero has a growing community which is over 1 year old. The price has been pretty stable (the trading range has been pretty tight between 0.002-0.004).

Some of altcoins will become pretty valuable and I doubt bitcoin is the ultimate currency. The challenge is to pick the right alts to which stick to.
Premines are bad as the developers has no incentive to do their work but simply pump the coin and then dump and run away with your money.
Good coins there are just a handful, Monero being one of them and as it solves the key problems with bitcoin (fungibility issues and privacy) therefore I am a little bit heavier in Monero as I see it has potential to grow in the coming years. However, the odds for success is obviously pretty thin but each day the coins are mined and bought and stored away from exchanges, the odds for success increase a tiny bit.
Soon the coin supply will dry out and then there are time to pump the coin.
I hope as many people joins the party now as possible until it is too late. But don't go all in Monero though. Be smart.  Smiley
1827  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero will beat Litecoin on: July 17, 2015, 06:04:18 PM
So many noobs now interested in Monero.   Grin
1828  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin compared with Monero on: July 17, 2015, 06:02:22 PM
Hmm let me see...Bitcoin or Monero? I'll choose Monero as my favorite crypto.

Excellent choice.
Sounds you are a smart guy.  Smiley
1829  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: STOP THIS MONERO SPAM NOW on: July 17, 2015, 06:00:52 PM
I remember buying couple of it on the forum since it wasn't trading on exchange back then. Does it have a user friendly wallet now?

Yes.
Mymonero.
1830  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: could monero replace bitcoin soon? on: July 17, 2015, 06:00:05 PM
I don't think it will supplant BTC's top spot anytime soon, but I do think the two will peacefully coexist.

Definetely Monero will increase value against bitcoin.
However, I personally see no reason why Monero couldn't inherit the crown of bitcoin within the coming decades as bitcoin network starts to be flooded with transactions and the fees skyrockets.
1831  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero Predictions on: July 17, 2015, 05:57:51 PM
10 000 times increase is pretty much and indeed it is possible. However, it might take decades rather than years.
However, Monero is interesting project to follow and it becomes even more interesting if you invest a little to it/support it in buying a part of daily Monero emission.
1832  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero Predictions on: July 17, 2015, 03:39:36 PM
I've made a research of this coin and found out that the same has great potential. The technology it has is innovating. I'm very certain that I will buy some Monero and hold them, until eventually it's price rises 10,000x

As of the time of this writing, Monero is worth around $0.52. However, I predict that the price will rise probably in the next months or year. My prediction is that the price will reach at least $2 in the upcoming months. Maybe Monero will be worth around $10 to $20 someday  Roll Eyes

If you have any predictions, please share it with the community. Thank You.

Welcome!
Monero is a marathon and if you have patience and contincency you may buy every day a bit and thus grow your stack.
Monero indeed has a great potential to increase value against btc.
1833  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Monero SPAM - What's the worst part? on: July 17, 2015, 03:04:19 PM
This is for the normal people.

If you are tired of Monero spam and taking over BCT say why.

<snip>

Hey - big thanks to the OP for taking the time to create a new account and advertise for Monero. Not sure if everyone's heard about it, but it's got some pretty cool innovations and just a little bit fairer distribution than BCN. Always appreciate someone taking to time to learn about and discuss innovation in cryptocurrency.

sorry to break it to you, everyone in Crypto knows about Monero already dude.  People aren't as dumb as Monero community say they are. They just made their decision to buy or not like 12 months ago and tired of the spam.

Welcome to Monero! I recommend to buy coins instead of complaining on forums. This coin is over 1 year old and still around so probably it will be around in the coming decades as well.
The energy you are using to trolling Monero you could use to buy Moneros and forget the coins and look how much a Monero costs in 5+ yrs from now. Wether you are rich or you are more or less in the same position you would be anyways.  Kiss

Why would anyone want to buy something people are so desperate to sell?

If it had value you would just keep it to yourself.

Same like ads that say "I make $20,000 in one month, send me $5 and I tell you how"

It's really obvious you are bagholder trying to get new ponzis into your pyramid scheme, thats what it looks like anyway.

No, I want you to become rich as well.
The Monero is going to be big. You want it or not but it will happen.
We are not asking it from you if Monero will take over the world, but we are giving you an invitation to join to the good side.
Monero is honest coin - no premines, we even kept the emission as it was even if we could have cut it down and make the coin owners immediately rich. We are here for long haul. Monero will be around after years and decades.
This is a long run marathon, not a quick way to make money but it makes slowly slowly the coin owners a new wealthy elite.

LOL ok if you say so.

You should change Monero thread title to "This one weird tip helped me make $1,000,000 in 1 month. CLICK HERE!". then you link them to Poloniex.

If I am not mistaken (correct me if I am wrong) but Monero has not made anyone a millionaire even in 1 year. The price is not high, it is at the low-end of its trading range.
Also, bear in mind, the emission is declining fast and once the minimum block reward hits and emission dries, many current Monero owner can easily drive the price to sky

If the time is not now, every moment the time for marketing Monero is a moment closer.  Cheesy
1837  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [POLL] [XMR] Monero - How much XMR do you personally hold? on: July 17, 2015, 02:30:43 PM
I'm not holding any Monero, but would love to do so in the future. Just analyzing the charts and investigating about this coin before I make my move.

Hello,

May I suggest you to make a plan of action?
You will probably not be able to buy on the exact bottom, therefore I recommend to start buying a little every day. Thus your average buying price is decent. On days when Monero goes up, your average price goes up also and on days when the price declines, your average buying price declines as well.
Calculate how much money you can spend on Monero per day and just start taking action. That's my humble advice.

I wish you happy holding! It will be a coin that you need to prepare to hold decades - then chances are pretty high that you will end up being a billionaire.  Kiss

Thanks for your advice. Really appreciate it! I will keep this in mind.  Wink

No problem! Feel free to ask me if you have any further questions, I try to answear them according to my best knowledge or lead your question to the wiser minds.  Smiley

Seriously wtf is this forum becoming, its 4chan full of trolls and spammer. Stop this shit spam. There are already ongoing monero Threads, GO POST IT THERE NO NEED FOR A NEW THREAD FOR EVERY NEW COMMENT!

If this is your marketing strategy then you better stop it cus it aint working.

I recommend you also to jump into the train and instead of complaining and crying, start holding and joining the good cause.
