1821  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 24, 2013, 04:45:30 PM
Guys, please keep in mind that i'm at work and i'm playing with fire by lurking the forum at this time. I actually got a written warning because of this, so please excuse my absence. Will be back later from home.

Please don't risk yourself Steve. We appreciate your updates, but endangering your job won't help anyone!
1822  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 21, 2013, 09:36:36 AM
I'm confused as to why these are being shipped, wasn't a refund requested for batch 2?

Normally I'd not be bothered by Steve's absence, but right now it goes without saying that we need an update on this situation of the batches.
1823  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 21, 2013, 09:32:35 AM
Resubmitted a request today, pretty sure I messed up the last one. I'm guessing that there hasn't been any word from SB recently?
1824  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 16, 2013, 01:19:35 PM
Given the number of people who have foamed at the mouth and threatened legal action on these boards over the past couple of weeks, it wouldn't surprise me if some or all of SB's replies are being filtered through legal counsel, which of course takes time (and money, unfortunately for him).

It would also explain the third person verbiage in some of his larger posts.

That would make some sense, yes. It would probably be sensible for him to assume some level of protection.

On another note, I have to come to the conclusion that Yifu coming clean about what actually happened at his end would completely discredit him concerning these delays. Which leads me to some further unnerving conclusions.

Despite my confidence in receiving some refund, I would still like to make use of the parts paid for, which feels beholden to the next gen chips. I have no reason to believe that they will be backward compatible other than blind faith.
1825  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 16, 2013, 10:28:57 AM
People seem concerned, there are a lot of refunds to get to, SB isn't just going to do a dozen or so refunds and disappear. Or at least his behaviour so far has not indicated that he will renege.

Granted it would be nice to have some communication, but the updates so far have been more or less adequate. His lack of presence does not directly imply a negation of his previous statements.
1826  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 15, 2013, 03:16:09 PM
I'm also at a loss as to where to invest after I have received a refund..  Maybe a monarch LOL
1827  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 14, 2013, 09:48:04 AM
I think that chips will be refunded. The problem is refunding boards and assembly orders, if Steve already ordered and paid for parts and manufacturing. burnin is offering partial refunds (50%) to his customers, or a 70% for a transfer of the order on the next project (maybe bitfury board).

I'd hazard a guess that some kind of transfer will be available depending on Steve's proposal. I'm also fairly confident that some of the cost can be recouped for the boards, but this is the sticky point and depends entirely on how Steve deals with it.
1828  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 14, 2013, 08:42:46 AM
All I'm saying is that there isn't money to refund everyone, so getting a refund is not a community solution.
Then what is?

Steve said he has something in the works. What that could be I have no idea. I could guess, but to what good? I have no reason to doubt him yet, he's put far more on the line than some other organisers. It would take some good news for this to be turned around though. I'm willing to wait to hear what it is.

I have doubts on Yifu's ability to refund everyone. That's pretty much my concern. Steve obviously can't talk about what's coming down the pike and we are all hostage to Yifu's ability or willingness to honour refunds.

We're all upset, time is of the essence, but there is nothing we can do but wait. As someone said in an earlier post, we are all chomping on a big shit sandwich. I think it's best to expect the worst case and hope for some off chance of salvage and at least getting something back.
1829  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 13, 2013, 11:42:32 AM
what if i dont want a refund ? does anyone know when ill receive my boards ? steamboat got the chips ?

SB wrote nobody will be forced to take a refund, though this leaves some other questions. So I guess miners will be shipped eventually when the ephemeral chips arrive.
1830  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 11, 2013, 05:53:28 AM
The only way I can imagine buying whatever gen of whatever products from Avalon now is escrow which releases the coins only after a valid  tracking number is provided.

+1 that would instill far more confidence.

Also Steve, can you please reply to my PM. I know you're busy but I'd appreciate an acknowledgement when you have the time.
1832  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 10, 2013, 03:03:39 PM
I think SB has earned our patience. Bitsyncom not so much. I'm about as convinced by their gen 2s as I am about a monarch. That may be generous though.

Steamboat: I have messaged you with my refund request as I am unable to sign any sending addresses right now being out of my home country for another week.
1833  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 10, 2013, 02:49:25 PM
Great news! Waiting for the details of next investment.

Let's hope it doesn't include Avalon. At this point I have about as much faith in BFL as Bitsyncom.

How about others. How about people that doesn't want a refund ?

it has been voted... majority wins... simple as that... what do you want to do with the chips? the are allmost USELESS now, how hard is to do the math?

PS: t13hydra... can we have some update about batch2 refund?... I know that it is 4 batch combined... but work it out fast... because we need founds to buy other type of IN HAND chips+boards. time is money in bitcoin...

I assumed that the refund included all batches?

Look forward to hearing your thoughts Steve.
1836  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Has the BFL's Monarch taped out? on: September 09, 2013, 03:16:55 PM
Butterfly labs can remain irrational for far longer than any of it's customers can remain solvent... Or something to that effect.

Will be interesting watching this train wreck keep churning.
1837  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Yifu, Please dont ship my order! Just refund! on: September 09, 2013, 03:09:19 PM
Yifu,

I have requested refund. However, the order status still has been changed to "prepare-shipping". I don't want your ridiculously delayed chips without any compensation!

Just refund me.

I have send you and ngzhang email, PM and refund request. Refund!!!!

Wow, what a clusterfuck this company is.

Can you honestly say you are surprised? Looking at the past few months, I'm not. There are a lot of inept inexperienced kids/con artists running these companies and I suppose there are many factors that we are unaware of, but still... Communications are sparse and recourse has been minimal.
1838  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Liquid Synergy Designs Inc. -ASIC mining hardware on: September 09, 2013, 03:02:11 PM
Looks like Yifu is in the process of screwing his customers...

So sorry, your order is in shipping-processing.

Too effing bad for jOO...

Jeezuz....this is amazingly bad.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=289551.new#new

Yifu did this before with batch 3. One group buy organizer had ordered 50 Avalons, but then when they were delayed and the refund option was offered, he asked for the refund. He got no response, inquired repeatedly and then weeks later all 50 units shipped. When they arrived he just had to make the best of it. This feels like what is happening to us -- Yifu processed some refunds for chips, but when they received more chips they just said, "Eh, ship them and let the customers deal with it."

Damn. If this is the case I will be disappointed but sadly not surprised.
1839  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [Closed]Avalon Chips - 0.081 BTC (Global+Escrow)-BATCH2 SECURED on: September 09, 2013, 02:56:15 PM
Every1 asking for refund, you realize you lose 50% of your investment since most of the boards are not getting refunded.

I knew there were risks going in, I would consider getting 50% back a hard lesson in counter party risk. Not great, but better than nothing. Not that I am happy of course, but I would be surprised if avalon were not to make some kind of concession to the group buys.

Edit : lol maybe the concession will be getting anything back at all.

I'm guessing Yifu is dragging his feet one way or another, haven't heard anything from Steamboats group buy recently.

I'm sure cogs are slowly turning somewhere!
