1382  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Cinnamon Coin 1.4.1 (CIN) No PreMine (POW )& POS TRADE ON COINS-E on: July 20, 2014, 03:47:33 PM
NOTE -- CINNAMON COIN MAY BE DEAD,

I DON'T HAVE THE TIME , MOTIVATION AND LACK SOME OF THE NECESSARY C++ SKILL TO PROPERLY FIX THE CLIENT

THERE IS NO GENUINE INTEREST FROM THE COMMUNITY OR ANYONE ELSE IN THE COIN

I SHUT THE MAIN NODES OF THE NETWORK DOWN

I NOTIFIED COINS E TO DELIST THE COIN

IF ANYONE HAS A PROPOSED FIX THAT CAN SOLVE ALL THE PROBLEMS (CURRENT BLOCK TIME STAMP NEGATIVE CANNOT BE SOLVED, DIFFICULTY NEEDS TO BE RESET FROM 292 MILLION AND A HOST OF OTHER PROBLEMS)  DO A GITPULL AND IF IT WORKS ILL MERGE IT AND RESTART THE CHAIN

BLOCK HEIGHT WHERE I STOPPED IT IS 57307,

WHILE I SOLVED EACH PROBLEM INDIVIDUALLY I CANNOT SEEM TO PUT IT ALL TOGETHER

I AM TIRED OF IT

THATS IT

Sorry to hear this.
1383  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin adoption slowing; Coinbase + Bitpay is enough to make Bitcoin a fiat on: July 19, 2014, 10:10:36 PM
With all the competitors now in the same space that coinbase used to sit alone, it's easy to see why their expansion of users has slowed down. The more options the better IMO. I don't think overall adoption is slowing though.

I think anonymints posts show that adoption is stalling. But you'll have to dig through his prolific writings.

While awareness among above average individuals is now higher, there is still virtually no interest in either investing  or using it as bitcoin is not frictionless enough to acquire. It's a hassle to understand, secure and use. In its current form it offers nothing to the public unless you are a particularly devious (or clever) divorcee.

I see great things for crytpos in the future, but I think a lot of people are expecting unreasonable rates of adoption at this stage. And while I'd love to see more adoption, I still think that we are at best flat lining right now. Bitcoin needs to stabilise and focus on services, which of the latter I know is happening.

But due to flaws in the structure of bitcoin we are going towards a more centralised (see pool sizes) and controlled market. How much longer before the IMF has its own sanctified block chain or something to a similar effect? Interesting times.

Wow, this thread is still going! And people are still trading! Anyone want to hazard a guess when 42 will go under a BTC? Looking at the chart, we probably have 3 weeks to go.

Some super dev needs to come along and save this coin... Or perhaps it's best to let the coin continue to decline ignominously.

Depending on costs I might end up getting this design struck anyway if my revisions are very different.

Here's the finished design (sorry about the watermarks and resolution, but I have had trouble in the past with a manufacturer using some of my work!)

As a coin that is made to last and be a store of wealth, a laser engraved hardware wallet the size of a credit card would be really cool, no?  There's already been a lot of interest and talk here recently about metal cold storage of UNO, so I know this idea will resonate with you all.  Although anyone with the skills and credibility can do this and bring their project to the community, it's also nice to know that Blocktech has this capability and plans to make it available to UNO.

Glad to see there is still interest in this. I have a design that needs finalising (pics some way back in the thread).

I had the project on the back burner as I was wrapping up a contract that was pretty hectic and setting up some other projects, not to mention getting ready for interviews for my next contract/job.

I'll put in some hours in today and get the production of the coin rolling today. Should take two weeks from the submission of my design to the manufacturer.

No here is the interesting part- I like to do pure silver strikes as it's more of a store of value, but I understand that this might not be as accessible to new users as a cheaper metal strike. As such the initial striking will be less than 100 bars. I'll mix it up, so there will be both available, perhaps in a few different finishes, giving you guys choice and realistic pricing for everyone involved. Seems demand is good, so I won't do preorders.

I'll get on designing the security hologram today too.

A copper/brass bar should not come to more than £10 with holograms and stickers for the keys. A pure silver strike should not go past £30. Both with capsules or containers obviously.

Let me know what you think, if someone has already begun a hardwallet, perhaps it will be cool to have some variation available too.

1396  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Devastation on: July 05, 2014, 08:52:18 PM
A big problem is labour being over valued by governments enforcing minimum wage - creating conflicts of interest as public unions do. Not to mention warping markets and increasing demand for cheaper automation exacerbating the employment issue.

Minimum wage is mainly required due to the arbitrary boom and bust manufactured by central banking though.

Try and explain that to someone scraping by and not sound like an asshole though!

Technology could create such great progress, it's baffling to imagine how much further society could be along without the retardation of collectivism, could be that employment wouldn't be such an issue.

Minimum wage... it is forbidden to pay less...some jobs are forbidden.

It is there, practically in the words used. Minimum wage is a regulation to remove a part of the job supply.

When we go cashless, cryptos will play an important role for those cash in hand jobs that go on under the radar.

Only 20 without their numbers engraved. One of which I'll be keeping as a memento.
1399  Economy / Collectibles / Re: Silver and copper coins- Goxxed For The Last Time a (commiserative) coin on: July 04, 2014, 08:30:17 AM
Hi Guys!

I have 2 pure silver coins left from my initial strikes- these are numbers 19 and 20 and will be the last 'unnumbered' coins sold. They come with certificate of authenticity. After this all my pure silver strikes will be laser engraved with their numbers. I will probably reduce the number of these strikes significantly as the initial aim of 500 was a little high. There will be no more than 100-250 of these coins struck.

With the silver price the way it is these rare and unique strikes should be a nice addition to your collection Smiley

Let me know if you're interested!
