1. It has scientific value since it is a fork of primecoin. Energy is not wasted only for heat but also for mathematics/cryptography.
2. It has value as data storage for small extremely important files that need to be stored forever. And this is its main value.
3. It has the common cryptocurrency values and since it is CPU only everyone can mine it without expensive hardware and furthermore, since mining block reward is getting bigger with more transactions and use (50DTC max) that means early adopters have smaller gain than other coins.
Why do you still support retarded coins? Dont waste valuable energy for retarded coins. Help Datacoin succeed.

Q1: What if illegal stuff on the blockchain??
A1: Namecoin blockchain already has CP and bitcoin already has illegal stuff on it and at least links for CP/wikileaks files but who knows what more. So the common question of "what happens when someone posts CP" has no meaning since what happens to Datacoin can happen to Bitcoin too.
Q2: Huge blockchain
A2: The blockchain is going to be rather big but will not be more than 512GB per year and in fact it is not going to be more than 300 Gb by the end of 2014. There is already thinking for personal chains to solve the problem but only thinking as of now. However as for bitcoins not all users are really required to have the whole blockchain on their PC as they use trusted exchanges/online wallets. And after all 1 TB hard disk that will not be full until 2016 at least costs now 65 dollars....

thats true unfortunately. I am fine with the dev releasing it in his native tongue. I just wish the original turkish post had the standard [ANN] in the thread title. That was the suspect part to me. All you have to do is push the "translate this page" button in chrome. You really don't even need to do that...the numbers are there and you can figure out the links. yeah well not really. coins must be posted to all and not to native posters only. i dont think that we must search for every language in this board. |

Maybe the OP hasn't got an AMD graphic card. I don't believe new Quark-based coins are mostly mined with Smelter GPU miner. If a new Quark clone appears and one mines it with a Smelter version which doesn't have a newquarkcoin address to send the 12,5% mining tax, do those coins get lost? It doesnt matter. Its broken. If it can be mined with GPU it will. It is getting mined and you dont know. Whatever. Its not a CPU coin anymore... |

Hey i dont really know how those things works. If it is legit and someone can say it is and also is what i have in mind it is very useful. I am waiting for someone to test it  I recommend for everybody to check the code, especially in crypto world, and especially if it's a bash script or something similar you can review in a moment (and script-kiddie can write in a moment). Just to know that `sudo rm -rf /` is not there. It's really not that hard, and if you are already playing with Linux then it's really beneficial to know shell (bash is linux shell language). Well, I may rewrite it little nicer, but it works for me. I totally want to know more about linux but i dont know from where to start... I have started learning a few things from previous month and i am excited but i need a lot of work... |

Πάντως εδώ στην ελλάδα το ηλεκτρονικό εμπόριο είναι πιο πίσω από όλο τον κόσμο περιμένεις να χρησιμοποιήσουν cryptos? Ούτε paypal δεν ξέρουν να χρησιμοποιούν στην Ελλάδα (καλύτερα κιόλας!) . Not at all. I would not have purchased any of the additional USBs, I only wanted 51, but purchased 20 more in order to try and get this GB funded; but i was at the limit of what i could pay. My interest was only in getting the group buy funded/shipped ASAP, instead of dragging on indefinitely with a list of non-paying orders. lol thank you noble man |
