Is it just me, or is the GUI not in the download package? I'm only seeing 3 files: boolbd.exe  simpleminer.exe and simplewallet.exe

Here is the link: http://sourceforge.net/projects/boolberry/files/bbr-win64-v0.2.0.23%2802e84b2%29.zip/download

There is no link to the GUI on the main ANN.  Why not?

Is this coin better or worse than BBR ? ,BBR has made lot of new improvement

YES!
ok, many people said so too ,BRR came out later  ,but made  more innovation

BBR has a private gpu miner since their algoritihm isn't Cryptonote(which doesnt have a private gpu miner, and is mostly cpu only), it's Wild Keccak. According to posts I've read, the guys using that Private Gpu Miner get as much as 7,000 BBR per day, per person...I also saw a 80,000 BBR sell order a few days ago....

Boolberry has been instamined just like quarkcoin and darkcoin.

Not really fair to say that about BBR.  XMR was mined by a few people for the first week using hundreds of EC2 instances.  There were some that mined at least 50,000 XMR in the beginning before the coin got on the radar.  Then there were people buying up tens of thousands of coins before it was on an exchange and was dirt cheap.

There is no need to start a "this coin is better than that coin" between XMR and BBR.  The two coins are both better than the plethora of bitcoin clones.  They seem to be working together and sharing the improvements they make.  The best thing for both coins is cooperation and support from the users of both coins.  I'm guilty myself of taking sides but I hold both coins and want them both to succeed.  I think cryptonote coins are the future of anonymous coins but they have a tough road ahead taking the reigns from a certain coin.  Cooperation will make that road much easier to travel.

Not true...only 7% of all XMR has been mined and most by people on their cpu's, EC2 only came into the game later on, weeks after XMR was first launched and had a decent size community(after it changed from Bitmonero).... I was here since the beginning looking around, thought I didnt buy any xmr sadly.

Though I agree, there's no need to have a fight between two innovative coins. PCE OUT.

I'm not going to comment again regarding this but I know for a fact that you are wrong about the EC2's.

But yeah, no need for squabbles between cryptonote coins.

1864  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Bounty for open source Wild Keccak GPU miner on: June 19, 2014, 11:54:07 PM
I have revoked my 100 BBR addition to the bounty, it will go to stratum support for mining both in node-cryptonote-pool (or any other pool software for CryptoNote/Wild Keccak) and a mining program.

Please comment if you wish to reallocate your funds to the stratum support bounty.

(cbuchner1 has stated he will release his GPU miner if stratum support is added)

I would like to reallocate the 250 BBR I have donated to the stratum support bounty.

Thanks
1865  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ORC] OrionCoin A CPU/GPU ASIC Resistant Coin // We need more Miners on: June 19, 2014, 11:51:14 PM
There is no need for this coin.  There are enough Cryptonote coins with competent developers behind them.  Coins like this are just following the path of bitcoin crap clones.

Please delete all your threads and go away.  Your coins are just a waste of time and resources.
1866  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BBR] Boolberry [ANONYMOUS | CRYPTONOTE | ADDR ALIASES | NO IPO/PREMINE] on: June 18, 2014, 09:11:43 PM
we're mining 5000-7000 coins a day

by the way the quoted mining number was from earlier days when the difficulty was in the 60-80G range. I think it has tripled since.
A lot more actors are in the cloud mining game now it seems.

I'm over it already.  Just donated 250 BBR to the bounty.

Keep up the good work you are doing.

What "closed-source" miner are you talking about? Claymore's? That's for Cryptonight (XMR/BCN)

This is Wild Keccak. Completely different.

There's another one.  But I won't get into that.

I'm sending a donation to the bounty.
1869  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BBR] Boolberry [ANONYMOUS | CRYPTONOTE | ADDR ALIASES | NO IPO/PREMINE] on: June 18, 2014, 09:01:57 PM
I think so far no-one has successfully hard-forked a cryptonote coin (the Mountcoin devs tried and that essentially burned the coin). Also I've developed GPU miners for coins that have originally been introduced as "CPU only", "GPU and ASIC resistant". So you might not want to try an arms race. Wink

You're right.  Someone will just find another way.

I just needed to rant.

I guess I'll donate to the bounty.  Not much else I can do.

Feel free to give me access to your miner.  I have an NVIDIA rig.  Ha ha

I have nothing bad to say about the dev of the miner because I would probably do the same.   But I wouldn't be surprised if people called for changes either.

I am actually surprised that not more people have optimized the miner and created GPU versions. It's a basic algorithm, much easier than CryptoNite. It's not actually hard to port to GPU.

I'm willing to provide a GPU version in ccMiner if we can get some stratum support in the pools.

But still that will exclude all the AMD folks, as ccMiner is CUDA only. Then all the AMD fanboys will cry "foul play!"

It doesn't look like anybody is going to abandon this coin. The developer is very active,  kind people like dga are contributing to simpleminer and a GUI wallet is in the works. The price has tripled already and investors seem to like the coin.

Christian

I know, I like the coin too.  But hearing that a closed source miner is getting 5000 -7000 coins a day is a little unsettling when you might have coins on an exchange.  You never know when you might get dumped on.  Please don't take my concerns as an indictment against you.  I just think things are very lopsided right now with regards to mining this coin.
1871  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [BBR] Bounty for open source Wild Keccak GPU miner on: June 18, 2014, 08:42:31 PM
Is this for the current closed source miner to be open sourced?  Because I don't see a way to get a big enough bounty since they are getting 5000 - 7000 coins a day.  Forget about the damn GPU miner.  Hard fork this and make it so it's not GPU mine-able.

1872  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][BBR] Boolberry [ANONYMOUS | CRYPTONOTE | ADDR ALIASES | NO IPO/PREMINE] on: June 18, 2014, 08:32:10 PM
This is bullshit.  Hardfork this and fix this before people start abandoning this coin.  I'm ready to dump all my coins and move on and I'm not alone.  A closed source miner kept private getting a majority of all the coins.  Come on.

we're mining 5000-7000 coins a day

ExtremePool Update
had to disable address validation but that created another issue.
I will get with the dev to figure out what we can do.

is this a fantom coin clone?  if so I do not believe the pool software works with this coin.

cryptomidnight/monetaverde
forked from amphibia/fantomcoin

I don't see a constant update in the Daemon...if I enter the "show_hr" I'll start getting a running list of the hashrate but nothing about blocks.  Is that normal?
Here's what you'll see if you find a block with show_hr running and the default log level

Code:
hashrate: 445.3158
2014-Jun-17 13:40:24.697416 [miner 26]Found block for difficulty: 405821
hashrate: 444.5263

And here's what it looks like with set_log 1 enabled.  Every time a block is solved it will show up in the daemon window.

Code:
HEIGHT 226, difficulty: 421202
block reward: 20.543441993728(20.543441993728 + 0.000000000000), coinbase_blob_size: 345, cumulative size: 345, 31(0/31)ms
2014-Jun-17 12:45:06.879723 [miner 5]Found block for difficulty: 421676
2014-Jun-17 12:45:06.918762 [miner 5]+++++ BLOCK SUCCESSFULLY ADDED

Use set_log 1 thru 4 with 4 providing more data.  To stop logging type set_log 0

You can set the level of process detailization* through "set_log <level>" command*, where <level> is between 0 (no details) and 4 (very verbose).

The GUI wallet is very nice.  +1

I just starting mining this is 100kH/sec about right for an i5?

+2

I've been using the GUI and have not found any issue with sending and receiving coins from different wallets or exchanges.  It's as easy to use as a bitcoin based QT wallet.  All it needs is a couple features like an address book which I'm sure will be implemented.  The fact that it is HTML based makes it easy for the average user to customize the look their wallet to their likes.

This should quiet those using the lack of a GUI argument as a way to dismiss cryptonote coins.

Cryptonote coins have changed cryptocurrency for the better.  There is little hype just measurable progress and innovation.

anyone else here able to compile the source?

I compiled on three machines.  Two Ubuntu 12.04 and one 13.10  All had errors and I thought it failed but it did finish and I started mining and have found some blocks.
