seems op has made a correct prediction. bitstamp and btc-e have gone above the $400 price level while bitfinex was struggling with a +1000 btc sell wall at $400. i really hope we will advance further and build up a strong support above $400. as long as that doesn't happen, the price can still go back to where we were a few days back. at this point there is no support at all.

i am selling when i made at least 30-50% profit. if the profit remains below 30% then i simply won't sell anything and continue with holding. and when i sell i never sell all my coins. i sell probably 25% of my coins when securing profits. the rest remains in my offline wallets as my ultimate goal is to hold till the price reaches at least $2000.

it all depends on how much coins you will buy. some people don't want to take much risk and they buy exactly 1 bitcoin. it will give you a decent return, but it won't make you rich. if you want to become rich, then you will need to hold at least 1000 bitcoins. then you will get very close to being rich at some point in the future. 1 bitcoin won't make you rich.

here in the netherlands holding bitcoins is being considered the same as holding stocks for example. it's part of your wealth so you will need to pay the same amount of tax as usual.

the majority of accounts here are shill accounts and accounts that people farm to sell or use in a signature campaign. it's no surprise as you can sign up with just a fake email address. if they force you to confirm your account through email, then there will be much lesser fake accounts.

it would maybe be nice for people who are holding bitcoin as store of wealth. they will then not need to worry about the volatility in the price. but for investors it will be not fun and as result they will leave and most likely not come back. the volatility is what makes bitcoin very interesting for traders. it gives them the opportunity to make great profits.

we are just $12 away from reaching $400 which makes it very likely that it will happen this month. china is already over $400 and i am sure the other exchanges will follow china.

gold price has made a nice jump, but how much potential increase is there to gain? i think a max of 20-30% in the comming year(s). it's decent, but i expect bitcoin to give me a better return.

yeah, that's why i prefer the price to take a little bit longer to reach the $400 level instead of a peak that breaks through that level within a very short time. building up serious buy support takes time, that's why slow growth is the best possible growth.

ethereum has nothing to do with the bitcoin price being fairly stable at current price level. ethereum is being heavily manipulated by a few people that already had huge loads of coins. i have been looking at the market action of ethereum the last days. and it just shows that some wealthy guys are buying and selling their own coins generating these insane volumes. classic manipulation tactics.

there are some good scripts out there that you can use if you have the knowledge to do it. you have to check them thoroughly that there isn't a bad code or a backdoor that will lead to your coins being stolen. if you plan to make an exchange as fun hobby at the beginning, then probably 10btc would be needed at least. but then again, it won't attract any serious traders. starting a real exchange can cost from $100,000 and up to a million as you need to make sure you don't break any laws and so on. you need to hire skilled programmers, you need to invest in advertising, you need to have a decent balance yourself.

the exchanges here are behind china once again. huobi is sitting at $395 while bitstamp and huobi are at $382 and $381. i think there will be some catch up done to come closer to the price in china.

the price can easily go up around $20 in just a few minutes. we have seen this happen plenty of times already. but i think the growth to $400 will take some weeks. 4 days is not enough. before the end of february it will be at $400.

i strongly believe we will see the $400 price level within february. the price might look like it is not moving, but there will be some action in the comming weeks.

exactly this. i hear some people saying that they are considering moving all their btc to eth because of the bitcoin price that isn't moving and that there still isn't an agreement made to solve the block size issue. those who do go all in eth will find out how much of their coins are left after the dump start to pick up.

$400 is nothing if you give it three months time. we are now around $20 away from the $400 price level. if a whale wants he can get the price above $400 within a few seconds. i am happy with any price above $600 just before the block halving. i am quite sure we will touch at least $600 and maybe even advance to $700 if there is enough buying power. only time will tell.

people who work are already having their normal retirement money. bitcoin must be seen as a nice bonus on top of that. we need to see the price go up to very high levels in order to achieve this. my guess is that 100 btc will be a more than decent amount to have. especially when you consider that the majority of the people won't even come close to holding 10 bitcoins.

my guess is that when we are a few weeks away from the block halving that we will see the high peak of the block halving pump. after the block halving the price will come down significantly because a lot people will be securing their profits.

1 satoshi won't even become worth $0.10 at some point in the future, let alone $1 or even worse $1,000,000!! people should stop dreaming.
