Is it a good long term investment to buy 1 BTC today?

Buying just 1 bitcoin won't make you rich or poor, so you can go ahead and get it. You never know if it won't get to 10.000$.

If the bitcoin community can reach consensus on many fronts and the bitcoin is developed continuously, the price will not go to zero.

yes bitcoin will never fall to zero, i sure with this but i still have one question in my head. how much price of 1 bitcoin in the future

Out of curiosity, I checked the price of BTC on the day of writing this post - October 9, 2015 = $244
Investing in Bitcoin is still not safe, but let this difference will answer for itself..
$376- $244 = $132

That's a good one! Actually we might have even much better price now if some stupid things about Bitcoin were not posted in the media. But more than 50% increase is not bad too. I'd say from now on Bitcoin will increase in value %0% per year as minimum.

Guess Bitcoin still has a lot of potential on it. If you think about it, altcoins getting stronger are simply vouching on the fact that BTCs can really work out. BTC has always been the stable one. And i don't think it can change that easily.

It sounded like Bitcoin have to worry about Altcoins power .. 
There is no doubt that Bitcoin pulls all the other coins. It is hard for me to imagine that in the future any of the coins thats are already on the market could threaten BTC.

Yeah, buying 1 btc at a moment is the best investment to make, as the future of bitcoin is bright and the value would be much higher in the future, so I believe its better if we can buy some more bitcoins at a moment.

It will take a long way for bitcoin to reach $1k value, and I don't see it happening too early, it will surely take time and it will also taste our patience level, as I can't wait that long, I would make money in short term from btc and invest fiat in some other product.

The price has risen over 50% in the last 6 months. I think the bitcoin price performance is quite good.

price movements are always temporary in my eyes.

it maybe different for your view, but I see it more as every year theres medium price that seems to fall a above last years. Intially this whole buy 1 btc today concept is more of did you buy the btc with using money we can afford to lose.

I think the price will be high before and during the halving. The price could be very high, then it will drop a bit.

people who work are already having their normal retirement money. bitcoin must be seen as a nice bonus on top of that. we need to see the price go up to very high levels in order to achieve this. my guess is that 100 btc will be a more than decent amount to have. especially when you consider that the majority of the people won't even come close to holding 10 bitcoins.

Then why relying on bitcoin for your retirement support. Don't wait for the skyrocket price to cover your retirement. Make a savings today to support your future. Bitcoin is there to give you "much more" opportunity to earn you more money in the future aside from your retirement savings.

I wouldn't reccommend anyone to invest all his/her retirement savings in Bitcoin, but, answering to OP's question, it's definitely good to buy 1 BTC today. Most likely it won't make you rich, but it's an opportunity to multiply your investment tenfold or even more than that.

i think trading is also risky dude. if you are not smart in buying or selling. you can lose money.
trade is not as easy as people say "buy if price low and sell if price rise"
