1881  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [Open Letter] Enough. Altcoin exchanges have to be public or die. on: June 09, 2014, 03:26:03 PM
Great thread, OP.

Better using a decentralized exchange like the one in Nxt. Wink
No discussion yet of DECENTRALIZED exchanges?

The Nxt Asset Exchange can never run away with your money because nobody controls the exchange.

It's not perfect, of course: we're still waiting for features that help broker trades between blockchains (so you can trade other cryptos trustlessly) but these are in the works.

http://Http://Nxt.org

Do NXT bagholders realize they are merely creating resentment against their coin by endlessly pimping and spamming NXT for just the slightest excuse?

Solution to the problem is considered the slightest excuse to you?

For anyone who isn't aware, Emule is Nxt's most persistent troll on the 2600+ page megathread  Grin He has a long history with Nxt.

Permadoom monger, credits include taking credit for any dips in price due to his selling (like the last one from $100m Emule?  Wink ), questioning the sexuality of other user's mothers, incorrectly predicting Nxt will go to 0.000031 at every dip and being Come-from-Beyond's favourite  Grin

Don't worry, he is harmless.

1883  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [NXT] Nxt - Official Thread on: June 09, 2014, 02:17:29 PM

OMG, this NXT crap still arround  Huh

think have still some leftovers to spill on all you bagholders!

let the games begin, muaahahaha muahahahahahahahhhhhhhaaaaaaaa

As if you hadn't noticed on our rise to Number 3.

Added UseCryptos to the AVOID-list

Another one to add would be HitBTC. They are registered in Israel as a company, I haven't looked into it in detail but I think they are transparent.

They have been through the regulatory trouble and expense of setting up USD and EUR fiat gateways, this should carry some weight. I haven;t used either personally though.

Also, this is the alternate cryptocurrencies board, I will limit myself to exchanges that focus on altcoins rather than FIAT<>BTC.

HitBTC are adding DOGE and have opened up voting on adding other cryptocurrencies to the exchange. So they are relevant Smiley

It is true, your reservations may only apply for the next couple of weeks until Doge, Nxt, GlobalBoost, Blackcoin etc are added from the vote.

There is currently no other coin (to my knowledge) that has a working encrypted messaging feature built into the wallet.

Take a look at Nxt's Offspring Client.

1887  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Qora | Released 16 May | 100% POS | New Source on: June 09, 2014, 01:46:28 PM
Yes some nxters want to buy qora using NXT.
But most of qora owners just want to sell qora for btc.
This is another reason why NXT AE is useless.

Again. Don't use it.

And gtfo already.
YOU STUPID ASS. Of course I will not use it.
I just tell people the risk to use AE and I have the right to express my views.

The risk is in trusting the issuer, not using AE. Careful not to blur the distinction.

The point of AE itself is that you don't have to trust it as it is decentralised, no central person can take your deposits and run away as it is all done on the blockchain.
You got the point. My points is the issuer cannt be trusted, which also means you can't trust AE.
I don't think there is any different.
If you can't trust someone you can't use AE.
The usual p2p trade need people trust each other, the AE need buyer to trust seller and seller don't need to trust buyer. It also did not completely resolve the trust problem.

AE isn't specifically designed for this scenario. Trust is required (as what happened in NEM with UP) but AE is more aimed at businesses that are accountable in real life, for example Bithuas/NxtHuas have registered in real life. You have to trust the issuer, you may not be able to but others may feel they can.

As I said previously for what has been proposed, Nxt will have a trustless solution in the near future. A traditional trusted escrow is the compromise in the meantime.

maybe don't follow what's happening but instead just follow the lead sheep

What is coming?

This

This week is the BIG week for CINNI.  Grin

Devs - Is there any new update or reassurance over the weekend? Still all going as planned? Cheesy
Yes everything is going well.
The backend of the anon encrypted messaging protocol has been completed, chat box completed and the GUI has been completed.
Still some things we need to do before releasing the wallet.
It will be released in less than a week.

Ok I thought it was something additional, I saw the announcement. This is good but encrypted messaging isn't a first in crypto. The announcement said "CINNI will use the encrypted messaging system to allow CINNI to become the first ever completely anonymous transaction system". Does this mean both the communication and transaction will be anonymous?

Only fool will buy qora from someone anonymous by NXT AE.

Don't be a fool then, do not buy a single coin from anonymous.
Do you really think people can trust you?
We don't even know who are you.
If you are the qora asset issue, you can sell all your qora asset and run away and don't send qora to the buyer.
No one can find you as sharexcoins owner.
Do you really think this is a good idea?

I can proceed with that idea or I can stop at any moment. I wasn't a big fan of it in the first place coz an asset issuer would have to deal with tons of fudsters, trolls and inadequates. It would be way easier for me to set a couple of million bounty for a person who agrees to do the job coz I think it's a necessary thing to do for Qora, Nxt and decentrilized future. But it doesn't seem anyone is eager to do it.

Send the Qora you issue to a trusted Escrow like Anon136. He has built a reputation and now a business in crypto so could be trusted.

There will be trustless ways of doing this in the the near future with Nxt (Multigateway to get Qora into the Nxt ecosystem+Automated Transactions) but it isn't here yet. Anon 136 is the next best thing  Grin
1892  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NEM] NEMstake tokens are listed on Nxt asset exchange on: June 09, 2014, 11:42:01 AM
My bids at half the IPO prices still await yummie yummie  Grin

We did not have an IPO, that was a call to participation. Beside that I think you'll gonna have to wait an eternity to get them at that price, or better said, no chance.
Don't bet your @$$ !!
Wink

So you're saying you want to buy 1 stake for 0.015?

People should normally be a bit off( Shocked) selling for that price. Since I think at least some people are a bit off, you might as well get a stake if you are willing to wait long enough(10 years). Smiley

Are you a stakeholder?

I think NEM(POI) may prove to be a significant step forward on the scale of crypto-evolution, much like Nxt(POS) was to bitcoin(POW). So if that will be the case, 3 btc/million NEM will be history.

What do we know about POI beyond the name?
1893  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Major NXT issues on: June 08, 2014, 11:23:04 AM
Thank you for your insightful post, Blazin604. This is very true.

Which bit?

The fee argument.

It is out of date. MinFeePerByte was already agreed when the original post was made by BrianNowhere and will be part of the next release.

@Daedelus. I have been asking on the NXT forum about this, but didn't get any answers.  Can you please tell more about MinFeePerByte? I heard CfB had a plan, is this it?

I really like NXT and it is fun reading old posts that criticize, but one thing he said that stands true is that the fee is 1 NXT.

Can you give information about when it will be lowered and to what?

You must have missed my posts on the 'official' thread  Grin

I missed it but...

The standard fee for Nxt will also be lowered in the next release. Wesley said so much in the weekly hang out with Tai Zen.

Something else to look forward too  Grin

And

RE: Fee discussion...

Hubs will set tx fee by using Hub terminal announcement transactions ("minFeePerByte" field).

That is a good idea, I think, how to get this idea (market price) implement in the nxt core?

Hubs have to announce their terminals to receive transactions to, they'll also announce what fee they charge per byte. This is already implemented.

Source: Come-from-Beyond's posts on Nxtforum.org from June 1st ish.

Edit: For clarity, this means is there will be a minimum fee based on a "Nxt per byte of information", set by the hubs that process the transactions.

Hubs are likely to then compete for transactions, while covering their costs, and a market rate for transaction fees will be found.

This will also act as a spam prevention mechanism as spamming the blockchain will have a linearly increasing cost.

The discussion was months ago in the megathread, not long after the vote. It solved a technical problem too on spam having a linearly increasing cost. Only now they have got around to implementing.

Hashrate has had a facelift, it's innards changed and has relaunched  Grin

Consider it alpha until it has proven itself over time, but you may want to point some of your miners there and see how it goes.

Stratum ports are on the page now.  I will be getting the FAQ and Downloads section populated in the next day or so.  SHA, Scrypt, Scrypt-N and Keccak are all fully supported now.
I will bring a cryptonote port online soon too, to take advantage of the CPU's in your miners.

I have not yet imported the round recalculations for the missing SHA rounds from before - I will try and get this done tonight still, otherwise I will import it first thing tomorrow once I'm up for the day (I've been working on this for the vast majority of the day so far)

The my miner pages are accurate too, they will show you the current number of coins you have earned of what type, and approximately how many NXT you have earned so far in your current shift.

Ahh, it looks like a few of you may have already found the pool again. Smiley

Coin-Switching Ports
Scrypt - stratum+tcp://stratum.us.hashrate.org:3333
Scrypt-N - stratum+tcp://stratum.us.hashrate.org:2222
X11 - stratum+tcp://stratum.us.hashrate.org:4444
SHA - stratum+tcp://stratum.us.hashrate.org:5555
Keccak - stratum+tcp://stratum.us.hashrate.org:6666

username is NXT wallet, password can be anything.
If you don't know how to mine X11, Scrypt-N or Keccak pls wait until I have the how-to guides finished and on the site (and then please use the correct miners)
I encourage everyone mining to switch over to Scrypt-N/Keccak as soon as I get the guide finished and the mining software linked, as it is much more profitable currently.  X11 runs a lot less warm than Scrypt but historically tends to be a bit lower profitability.

Quoting this from another thread. Tricky way to increase votes on hitbtc!

Well, it is great to have such an exploit, but I don't know how clever it is to use it, because hitBTC might get pissed and deduct all votes..

They won't  Cheesy I have sat and seen bots for 2 other coins add +10 literally like clockwork, bang on every minute. For hours and hours! Grin I didn't watch for hours but it was happening whrn I went to bed and was still happening in the morning.

There are spies monitoring our promotion threads too, when posted we were only behind another coin by 8 votes, immediately there was 18x10 votes added to the coin above:Smiley
