1941  Economy / Speculation / Re: Convert or HODL? on: March 14, 2020, 08:08:36 AM
Quote
I have no idea why the hell that happens, I may be extremely unlucky. Now I'd rather not trade at all than try my luck, because a simple paper calculus shows how much of a profit I could've made doing nothing and just letting my money sit in BTC..
Long term hodling you mean? Yes that is profitable considering you bought at three digit prices and now the price is obviously more than 10x of the buying price. But then again there is always the good effects of using a 1000$ capital to buy sell daily and keep the money flow coming in. Converting to fiat makes you exit the market temporarily to tide over bitcoin bear scenario.
Going all at once is actually something smaller fish has to do. I mean when you are going in 100 dollars you can't divide that to 10 bucks at a time, you have to go all in that 100 dollars so that you could make some money from it.

I personally would prefer if there was some sort of big amount that I could not go all in but go slow by slow however I didn't so I went all in with the small amount I had. Now I am not doing so bad and I do not go all in anymore but that doesn't mean we could tell people to divide their money into multiple entry points just because we can do something like that. I would however suggest even the smaller investors to go out there and find all the ways you can make crypto and earn it as well, what you earn as 10 dollars today could be 100 dollars tomorrow.
1942  Economy / Speculation / Re: Don't Panic Yet, Bitcoin Analysis. on: March 13, 2020, 05:29:28 PM
I doubt that we can call it a weekly before week ends. However, the fact is price actually moved towards a place where we were half expecting it to go down if things get sour. The trouble here is the fact that there was a huge sale, that means it might be nothing related to analysis or nothing related to charts and ma200 or anything at all. It could be simply just a rich dude selling a lot of bitcoins they had to buy more stocks just as when it dropped.

Remember not everything in crypto is actually calculated moves, some of them just happens out of nowhere and shocks the whole world. Maybe that is one of the reasons why it moved all the way down to 3600 but moved back up, it wasn't a predicted move but nobody really thought the price would stay there all the time and bought it right away.
1943  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin mining a problem of wasting energy? No on: March 13, 2020, 04:57:14 PM
Basically, I was on the opinion that no matter even if energy is wasted still proof-of-work was better than proof-of-stake but after the quantum supremacy was proved by google and I read somewhere that they can mine all the bitcoins in a few minutes actually blew my mind and the is is actually where I believe proof of stake is better because there is no way someone with quantum supremacy can just mine p-o-s coins at all.

I mean we are already wasting so much electricity and resources and now there is a giant in the market who can just mine all the coins in some minutes so I start to feel like p-o-s is much better and while it gives more power to whales but it still is impeccable and there is nothing that can ever alter the mining speed unlike p-o-w coins.
1944  Economy / Economics / Re: You will be able, slowly, to pay one bitcoin for 25000 pizza. Any other opinion? on: March 13, 2020, 08:26:24 AM
The market has been quite unstable recently and a lot of people are being discouraged and I have also seen a lot of bad news. The media is fond of fueling every bad event that takes place in the Bitcoin community and they just start adding extra bad news and things that would discourage a lot of investors.

The price of Bitcoin went from $4k to over $13k and they never rushed to say anything good about Bitcoin, they kept mute, but just this little fall back in price and they have started spreading news that would discourage more investors and cause Bitcoin to keep falling. Funny set of people, they will soon be shamed when Bitcoin starts to climb to a very high price.
1945  Economy / Economics / Re: WHO encourages use of digital payments due to COVID19 on: March 13, 2020, 07:40:39 AM
This is not the first time that someone is recommending that people should make use of contactless payment. In fact it has been repeated a lot of times and I was thinking that by now that a lot of people would have recognized cryptocurrency, especially Bitcoin, and made it their choice but instead I noticed that they were all going for other payments like mobile banking, PayPal, and WeChat Pay (which is currently trending in China).

Where I live there is no place where you can make payments with Bitcoin, it’s mainly mobile banking and some kind of QR codes payments that are part of the services being offered by banks which customers can scan and make payments. Seems like cryptocurrency is not gaining recognition and it’s quite disappointing, the only places you can see Bitcoin being accepted is online.
1946  Economy / Speculation / Re: HODL HODL HODL...AND BUY MORE on: March 10, 2020, 07:43:45 PM
What people are forgetting that bitcoin is already scarce, the problem is there isn't really enough people who are willing to buy from this price. We are already at around 8 thousand dollars per bitcoin, that is quite scarce and getting closer to gold levels now, hell compared to gold coins we are less available and more expensive so we are almost already there if you think about it.

So, there is nothing to worry about, even the current price for the next 50 years without moving too much is fine because bitcoin is at an excellent price to be adopted globally, we just want too much out of it. If you are expecting a currency to move from 100 dollars to 100k dollars in 5 years (2015 to 2020) that means you might be expecting too much from that currency.
1947  Economy / Speculation / Re: bitcoin is supposed to go up of this corona! people are doing it wrong on: March 10, 2020, 07:08:11 PM
I have said exactly the same thing somewhere else as well, there is really nothing that could make bitcoin go down regarding this corona virus deal and people are still selling their coins for some reason we will never know.

I mean every single fact and data shows that bitcoin should be going up right now, every single one, yet the price is going down and I assume the only reason for that is the fact that we are actually in a bear market everywhere else in the world so people assumed we would be in bitcoin as well and they sold and since this is a decentralized and unregulated market that caused a bear market here as well, no other logic comes to mind. Halving is just around the corner and I still think this is a great moment to buy as much bitcoin as we can before it goes off.
1948  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Remove the bad influencer from your life! on: March 10, 2020, 05:34:32 PM
Some of them have been making fun of Bitcoin and I have been seeing them say that Bitcoin is approaching its end. Even after the government of India lifted their ban on cryptocurrency, that same day I was still seeing some people saying that all those good news are for nothing and that it doesn’t stop bitcoin from being a failed project lol.

Why I’m not afraid whenever they say things like this is because it has already happened before, if you have been here for a long time you will know that this is not the first time that economists have tried say things that will create panic and make investors abandon Bitcoin, they are always fond of saying all kinds of possible sh*t to ruin decentralized cryptocurrencies, especially Bitcoin, but it’s never going to work out for them.
1949  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Can ETH reach $5k in this up cycle ? on: March 10, 2020, 05:01:30 PM
What do you guys think ? I discuss some reasons why it might here : https://youtu.be/8Rg-CM2s7Q0
I just don’t understand why some of you are fond of expecting too much from these assets.
Seriously, how do you even come up with the idea that the price of Ethereum is going to reach $5000 soon?

Even after the halving I am not even expecting it to reach that high. As for whether it is going to increase in price, I know that’s going to happen for sure, the price of Ethereum will go up because it’s among the cryptocurrencies that moves tightly together with bitcoin and when bitcoin starts go up after the halving, Ethereum will go with it, but your prediction of $5000  is too much.
1950  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bounty hunters and Investors, Who values Cryptocurrencies More? on: March 10, 2020, 04:23:01 PM
Who told you that investors don’t do their research before investing in a project? Do you think that’s it’s every investor that has someone that manages their portfolio? Some of them do that by themselves, especially the ones that are not yet big investors, they do their research before they start investing in a project. And what makes you think that a project is trusting more on a bounty hunter than an investor?

Bounty hunters are just the promoters and the target of this promotion is for the project to gain investors, and if it doesn’t gain investors then it’s probably useless and will be a failed project.
1951  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The current world market situation. on: March 10, 2020, 01:25:52 PM
Someone will ask that the funds that are leaving crude and stocks, where is it going ? It's simply being rolled into Fiat because everyone is careful of Investing at this time.
Yes, these are all really making me saddening. Only when everything is going on smooth and as per expected, we could live a normal life. Until there will be a compete cure for corona virus, I am afraid trend of markets may persist like this only. Not sure when we are going to see everything will be getting restored. I do believe crypto markets will be an exception all the times but now it reacted to stocks and commodity markets but in recovery crypto market will show its own power.

We are going to see quick recovery of bitcoin markets which will be the enough trigger for making altcoin markets to be bouncing back as early as possible. After all, we must need some concrete solution for the panic of corona virus. Yes, a real curing vaccine will simply boost all the markets.
1952  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: The 10 Best Crypto Exchanges - Which one do you use the most? on: March 10, 2020, 12:44:53 PM
I still use Binance to this day and I am also investing into BNB as well but I feel like they have bumped to a stand still and not going anything higher nowadays, not improving at all so I am not sure if I will continue with binance forever.

I used cryptsy back in the day when it was the big deal and I loved it and everything about it but then they got "hacked" and no longer around, I switched to poloniex because that was the big known one during the aftermath of cryptsy and I had traded there a lot, specially clam because just-dice started taking clam. I moved to bittrex after couple years and used them until Binance came out and have been with binance ever since. As you can see I have changed my exchange multiple times so far and I am sure I will also change it in the future as well.
1953  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to start: Daytrading? on: March 10, 2020, 12:05:38 PM
First of all I would suggest you to read online about how to read charts, how to read a chart usually starts with indicators and you will learn at least 40% of all you need from just that, if you know how to read charts, if you know what indicators means, if you know the needed terms to read them and you are capable of looking at the prices from all angles instead of just one-sided that would mean you will be fine while trading.

After that the most important is to go to bitmex or any other website that has "test trading" feature so you can just test yourself and see if you could trade properly and make a good amount of money. If you are capable of making a profit from the testing place, you can slowly turn into real trading and start making some real trades.
1954  Economy / Economics / Re: South Korea quarantines and burn their cash due to Coronavirus on: March 10, 2020, 09:07:44 AM
Seriously not a big deal if you ask me as long as they wash it but burning? Really? Why would you feel the need to burn it? I mean we are talking about burning paper money just so it doesn't spread virus around to people. You can literally wash it on high heat and/or you can literally reprint it if you have it because you have the exact same technology and send it back to community as well.

On top of that you can burn as much as you want but that is not going to change the fact that there could be corona infected people out there who are touching money in circulation right now, so why would that stop now? They will continue with that, what will south Korea do? Burn ALL the cash in their nations? That is not a chance and they can't do that so it is futile attempt.
1955  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | Crypto Powered Sportsbook and Casino | 🎰 🏀 ⚾ 🏈 🎾 🥊 🎲 on: March 10, 2020, 08:23:50 AM
I have won couple of multis myself as well but it wasn't during this period and it wasn't all that much neither. I played with ethereum and I wagered 0.005 ethereum to begin with so it was really low amount and the highest I have won was 7.28 odds so it didn't really turn out to be high in the end neither.

Definitely, it was cool enough for me because that allowed me to not deposit for a long time and keep gambling with the money I have in the bankroll and that is all I ask from gambling anyway, as long as I do not deposit much, I am happy with just gambling which means I need to break even as long as possible as a strategy. That is why I try to stick with individual games on good odds to win and get something in return even if it isn't much but too many of them back to back allows me to make a multi.
It is not about really making a multi, it is not even about the promotion or winning anything.
When a casino does something extra that is to keep the customers occupied instead of regular gambling without anything in sight.

If you tell your customers to just "go ahead and gamble however you please" they will do that for a while but eventually they will be bored, so stake is putting up these races, these multis, basically all these promotions and competitions just so that people do not get bored and continue to have a reason to gamble.

When you do these kinds of stuff people do not gamble just for gambling's sake, they do not gamble just for money, they also gamble to win some bragging rights and some extra thing they will be winning. It doesn't matter if it is multi, sportsbook, dice, plinko or whatever.
1956  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: why bitcoin transaction confirmation keep coming on: March 09, 2020, 06:22:01 PM
Even if the transaction has just one confirmation it can still be spent, there are wallets that attempts to spend a money that has not even be confirmed yet. You will only have conditions when you’re making use of exchanges or platforms like Xapo, Coinbase, and other sites that offer some services that has to do with Bitcoin. If you’re making use of Xapo wallet you will notice that any money that’s sent to your wallet does not reflect and can’t be used until it has up to 5 to 6 confirmations.

But, if you’re making use of the Blockchain wallet there are no conditions as such, you can easily spend the money immediately it arrives your wallet. But those confirmation are needed to avoid double spending as others have said, it authenticates the transaction.
1957  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Corona is spreading in many countries!! Bitcoin is a solution for transactions on: March 09, 2020, 06:05:15 PM
Yes you’re right, but right now there are lots of things that you can’t do with Bitcoin, I don’t know if it’s the same for other countries but that’s how it is where I live, though there is not much cases of Covid-19 virus, just only two people are with the virus, but everyone is still being careful so they are now making use of mobile banking apps.

There is more you can do with these mobile banking apps than with Bitcoin. When you open the banking app you will be able to use it to pay your bills – electricity bills, water bills, etc. But if you’re using Bitcoin you can’t do most of these, and there are no places where you can spend with Bitcoin like restaurants, and shopping malls. I heard in China people now mainly make use of WeChat Pay.
1958  Economy / Speculation / Re: Another decline of BTC expected on: March 09, 2020, 05:25:24 PM
I guess this was the one that was expected? If that was the one that is expected I am not too worried. Price of bitcoin has always been volatile and it has always moved up and down before and it will keep doing that now as well. We have started the year around 7k and we are still in profit but we have seen above 10k as well.

There is really nothing worrisome about bitcoin moving like that. The real trouble here is the fact that people still get excited about the falls and ups of bitcoin anytime it does that when in fact we should be focusing on longer term issues we may have. Such as price not really reacting to halving while it is getting closer, we should have seen some sort of increase right now that shows how bitcoin is getting prepared or anything from miners but we have seen none of that just yet.
1959  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price hits $9678: What to expect? on: March 09, 2020, 04:26:01 PM
This crash wasn't really unexpected, corrections aside this looks like something bigger but was expected by the public so we are not really the result of the price but the cause of the price. If enough people keep saying stuff like "there will be a fall" there will actually be a fall because those people sell and when they sell the price drops and when price falls there are more people selling and the price falls some more in an endless cycle until it reaches the bottom.

We should start to expect some sort of increase nowadays because the bottom is already here and support is very very strong at these levels and we are definitely not going to see anything lower, I can't guarantee anything higher anytime soon neither but when price stops going down, it usually starts going up.
1960  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does the Coronavirus (Covid-19) make BTC to rise? on: March 09, 2020, 03:51:10 PM
Considering there was a talk from WHO that said that heat is something that can solve this I feel like we have very few moments left with this virus.

I am not entirely sure if it will be true or not but if that is true anything over 25 Celsius in the world will mean that corona will be gone, we already know that there has been no known deaths of anyone at 0-10 age group neither so what we have right now is a virus that kills people who live in cold areas and are old and have already hard time breathing.

So, that means with less and less old people during summer and higher heats, that will destroy the virus forever and will no longer have any infected neither. Bitcoin will survive this and with halving we will see an increase that will not be attributed to virus at all.
