1981  Other / Off-topic / Re: Young people should go all in on bitcoin on: March 23, 2017, 12:36:12 PM
Forget about everything else and just put everything on bitcoin. You are living with your parents, they pay everything for you, you got nothing to lose. If I was living with my parents, I would save everything and buy bitcoin monthly. If BTC doesn't keep rising you can still reach the 21 BTC holder group, then save this and retire in 10 years when the price makes you a millionaire.

Go all in on regret later. You are on a privileged position to profit from high risk high reward moves. No risk no win, and BTC is the best long term high risk bet.
I totally agree with you, I live with my parents and planning on saving BTC's, because I don't see any other investments, that could be better. I knew about bitcoin about 4 years ago, when its price was about 30-40$, I guess, and my friend told me that bitcoin is the future and I should buy some of them and start using it. What I thought was: "why should I invest SO MUCH money for something so unreliable, I don't even know how much will it set me back". Now I really regret it, but it is never late to start.)
1982  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The danger of the cyptocurrencies on: March 23, 2017, 11:50:36 AM
You are probably aware of the recent news about removing the fiat money for good and building up the cashless world.

Have you thought that bitcoin maybe the first step of this utopia? What if CIA behind this project? Would you still keep your money as bitcoins? Would you trust them? Do we know who the hell is Satoshi Nakamoto? I suure don't.

There is one big danger ahead. If the paper money gets removed, you will have no choice but to accept to get paid in crypto currencies. And to the big point:

If you keep your money in a goddamn computer, the government can rip you off instantly if they wanted it. I am not saying they aren't doing that already as most of us are keeping *our wealth in the banks. But cryptos will make their jobs easier. Much easier.

What if bitcoin price rises to 1.000.000$ and gold and USD become literally worthless? That's when bitcoin will be the world currency, and people gonna realise that gold is just a stone, USD is just a toilet paper.

Your won't have another choice but to store your money only in crypto, because the other choices will be worthless!

I am not sure if that's a good thing. Being dependent so much on computers just scares me.

That is an interesting point of view, but I think there is nothing to be afraid of. First of all, even though bitcoin is quite famous, still the majority of world population have no idea about it, so it will take a plenty of time till everyone would be familiar with bitcoin. Talking about gold, just think for how long it has already existed and is has never been worthless. So why should it lose its value? Gold is just a way to make a good investment, there could be other precious gems, or real estate, etc. And about USD, maybe it will no longer work, because, pure and simple, BTC is much more handy.
1983  Economy / Gambling / Re: PenguinDice: An Open Source Bitcoin Dice Betting Tor Hidden Service on: March 22, 2017, 01:33:13 PM
Have not been visiting the site for a while. But today I decided to play a bit there and after login in I found all my 0.00122550 btc in my Balance there. It was a bit of a nice surprise because I thought that maybe the site has stopped operating already.

Luck wasn’t on my side at first and I lost 30% of my balance but eventually I rolled what I wanted.  Smiley

IMO it’s a great site. I’m wondering how many people are using it?
1984  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In what situation would Bitcoin die? on: March 22, 2017, 11:59:23 AM
if one day the us and china  government decide to not accept their citizen using  bitcoin then it will be the end of bitcoin.

or for exemple if they start to associate bitcoin with terroism..

i wish bitcoin never end Smiley Smiley Smiley

Whether they decide to accept it or not it's irrelevant for Bitcoin's existence. There are many other countries people of which will continue to use BTC. Negative attitude to Bitcoin from any government will result only their citizens to suffer from it, all the other people will be okay and bitcoin will definitely not die.
1985  Economy / Economics / Re: How much are you willing to pay in fees for a Bitcoin transaction? on: March 22, 2017, 11:50:49 AM
I'm ready to pay up to $0.7 for a transaction and when they ask for $2 like it was recently I think it's too much. Hopefully the situation is changing for the better, because today I was asked for as low as $0.3 and after I paid the transaction received first confirmation in 40 minutes.
1986  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to quit Gambling for good? on: March 22, 2017, 10:48:03 AM
Simply Router/IP Block those websites you use frequently, works for me Wink

It's good it works for you, but in most cases people who are addcited to gambling will always find a way to do it. So the answer is not in restricting yourself but in losing the desire to gamble moe and more even when you can see how bad it is for you. To lose that desire one have to find something more entertaining for them.
1987  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular & Trusted | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 21, 2017, 03:31:34 PM

...... but like Serlite said, it's kinda difficult to know who is abusing the faucet since the tips can be made private (it doesn't showing into chat box when someone use private tips).

PD should have considered the pros and cons before giving users the ability to tip privately.
Private tips would mean that tipping process is hidden from the public view.
PrimeDice's staff still can view logs and see who tipped who and with what amount.
In case system will be abused we could have certain regulations to prevent that, it is not that hard to implement.

yes I agree it wouldn't be hard to implement and monitor but judging by how slowly their answer support tickets I don't think they have time for that. Most of the time people just tip each others alts in plain view and nothing gets done.

Actually I haven't seen this happens recently. I remember it was happening from time to time about one year ago though. I think after lowering the amount you can claim from the faucet and also limiting the number of times you can claim per a certain period of time, the abusing of the faucet became almost impossible.
1988  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin price is recovering! on: March 21, 2017, 02:57:57 PM
Good news dude !
Bitcoin price is recovering little by little .
From 950 $ some hours ago to 1066$ now !
Buy now till it's under 1100$.
 https://blockchain.info/markets

Yes, it's a great news indeed. I think the main reason for the recovering is that Bitcoin has attracted many new users recently. Part of them were buying their first BTC for over $1,200 and now when the price is lower they think "Why not to buy more?"? and they are right btw, it's possible that we'll never see such low price for BTC in the future.
That's good! Smiley And I agree that the reason why bitcoin price is recovering because many people are recently joining to earn some bitcoins. If we introduced bitcoin to our friends and even family there comes a time that bitcoin price will be doubled as it now today. No one will ever predict the price of bitcoin but we, the people who uses it are the one who can recover the price and make it better. And sooner or later many people will likely to buy bitcoins because of its high value. Smiley

Telling friends is a good idea in my opinion. I for one tell to almost everybody I know about Bitcoin and although most people ignore the info some start being interested. Fortunately it's easy to buy $10 worth of BTC where I live, so some of my friends create wallets and buy small amounts just in case.  Smiley
1989  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Worst mistake in gambling on: March 21, 2017, 02:29:59 PM
What are some the more idiotic and stupid mistakes that you know you shouldn't have made but did anyway. Yes this includes other none gambling stuff like sending btc to the wrong address. I'm interested to find out the stupid things other people do.  Roll Eyes

Probably one of the most stupid things I ever did was not writing down the password to my PD account and then forgetting it. Thus I lost access to money I won in a creativity contest implemented by PD here on bitcointalk. It was less than $10 but still big money to me.
1990  Economy / Gambling / Re: Primedice | Most Popular & Trusted | Huge Community | Free BTC on: March 20, 2017, 01:56:14 PM
Primedice is truly a great site. It keeps me entertained and can make a little money. truly great site

Thanks Marco! Let me know if you have any suggestions on how we can do better.

Although I wasn't asked, so please forgive my intrusion, but I do have one suggestion. Is it possible to make another "ROLL DICE" button somewhere closer to the table of the bets we make? For example in the line "MY BETS - ALL BETS - HIGH ROLLERS". Thus we would be able to see up to 8 bets we made previously.
1991  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can we have a bitcoin day? on: March 20, 2017, 01:02:24 PM
The Idea is look interesting so I vote for yes, but how it will happened Huh it will be good impact  on bitcoiners if we have celebration like that . It will also affect the price if we make some noise before the celebration day happened.

To create an annually event like this takes a lot of funds, but all the bitcoiners would benefit from it. I think if a government would like to make such a thing they can do it, but for regular people it's impossible. But of course I'm in in case someone will find a way to create this event by efforts of the bitcoin community.
1992  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Free Bitcoin Scammer Sites on: March 20, 2017, 11:14:03 AM
Hi guys, as we know there are many free bitcoin sites or faucets or btc investment sites. Have you encountered some sites? Did you invest?

One is bitcoin miners. once you reach your desired mined btc or satoshis you can withdraw anytime but first you need to upgrade. I upgraded mine, and to my surprise I earned lower than what I upgraded! but they processed right away my withdrawal but I lost 200k satoshis lol   Shocked

but there's another way..; you must wait 30 days or 25 days for your withdrawal to be processed. I didn't tried it since I think it's kinda too long to wait.

Looks like you are talking about a cloud mining site. Well, I suggest you to read through topics on this forum and you'll see that almost eveyone is saying that cloud mining sites are scammers. Every time they invent new wiles to attract customers or rather new potential victims of their scam. Just withdraw as much as you can and never go for it again.
1993  Other / Archival / Re: Which one is more risky? Skill-based gambling or trading? on: March 20, 2017, 10:44:52 AM
I think both of them have same risk. For starters IMO the skill-based gambling is an illusion in most cases. All the gambling addicts think they have some skills which might help them to make profits but they fail in the long run. Trading is also a field where many people lose their money, and they are losing not because they have no or little experience but because no one can actually predict whether an altcoin will go up or down from a given point.

Thank you BitDouble.io and personally yahoo62278! All the payments were always in time.

It's been fun working with you guys!
1995  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So no one cares about ETF decision, right? on: March 17, 2017, 09:08:31 AM
We haven't seen any huge downfall (as expected) after the decision of ETF. Do you think that we as bitcoin users have not paid any value to the ETF's decision?

In the case of disapproval, the predictions were floating around below $1,000 mark but we haven't seen any such mark.

Is it too early to speak about it or we have given a message to the world something like this?

~

Interested in exploring community's opinion about it. Bears must be disappointed because they lost the chance to short for huge points.
Well, I don't think this rejection would have a big influence on BTC's price, considering that it exists for a long period of time and, in general, has increased and becoming more and more stable. BTC has only dropped about 15% and it is recovering very quickly.
1996  Economy / Economics / Re: How many Bitcoin do you have saved? on: March 16, 2017, 06:34:42 PM
Right now I have less than 0.1 but that's because two days ago I exchanged BTC on my local currency bought me a new phone which I like very much. Hopefully I will be able to save in the future because I think it's a good thing to have some Bitcoins in your wallet.  Wink
1997  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling problem on: March 16, 2017, 06:17:07 PM
It's better to only gamble for entertainment and deposit only what you can afford to lose. The odds are against us and we may lose but it can be a source of fun and entertainment.

It can't be said better. The source of any gambling problem is in the desire to make money with gambling. Some people lie about their profits even showing a "proof" in a form of a screenshot, but what they are not showing is how much they lost on other accounts.
1998  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: March 15, 2017, 11:57:43 AM
In 2022, you mean in 5 years? Well, not by everyone, but I think most people from the rich countries will be using it. And also people from the poor countries will be keeping their savings in BTC since their local currencies will be much more unstable than BTC.
I think anything could be happen, although it seem atleast we need to wait more than 10 years to see its happen. I am sure that if global economy is getting worst, people will turn to use bitcoin.

But why do you think it will take more than 10 years? The world is changing rapidly these days. Changes that would took hundreds of years in the past now happen in several years. Consider the today's ability of people to exchange information. So the changes we are waiting for might happen much sooner than we think.
1999  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2017-03-13]Venezuelan Bitcoin Miners Bribed and Thrown in Jail by Secret Police on: March 14, 2017, 11:51:53 AM
Over the past few months, officials in Venezuela have been cracking down on underground Bitcoin mining operations within the country. According to various reports, Venezuela’s secret police has been coercing Bitcoin miners for bribes or they would otherwise be thrown into jail if they don’t pay the extortion.

This past November, two brothers from Caracas operating a Bitcoin mining operation were raided by the country’s secret police (Sebin). According to the brothers’ reports, officers ordered them to pay $1,000 for every mining machine they owned. The brothers, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that they had paid the police to keep mining. Nevertheless, miners in Venezuela are being caught more often because the state’s power corporation is finding mining operations consuming 20 times the electricity used in a traditional home.

Too bad that the Venezuelan Government doesn't understand that it would be better for the country if they don't fight but support Bitcoin.

They say:

... mining operations consuming 20 times the electricity used in a traditional home.

So what? Just charge them for the electricity consumption, don't jail them.
2000  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If money would not be a problem, would you still gamble? on: March 13, 2017, 12:20:32 PM
Gambling is more than just about winning money.  The feeling of the unknown, and not knowing if you'll win or lose that makes it exciting.  However, with a lot of money, can you really lose?  You can always keep doubling up until you win and you'll always be up.
There is no money that is unlimited, there should be an exact amount of money that you have even if you are filthy rich person. What you are recommending is something a rich person should not do, you are just putting your self in the hole of failure, you can lose everything you have when you have a bad luck.

Yes, you can lose everything you have when you have a bad luck. Even if you are a rich, even if you have a super a lot of money, if you jave a bad luck, you will get so hard to win. And it means you will lose your bet. And when you always lose, you will lost a lot of money, and then you become from hero to zero.

I knew someone who was not rich but quite wealthy... invested in East German real estates because he believes in the Aufschwung... well, this did end badly, he lost all his invested money and that was quite a lot.

Investing your money in order to have big profits is very similar to gambling IMO. That's why it is safer to invest in established companies who although pay you not much but they do pay and the chance of losing all you've invested is negligible in those cases. But being poor and gamble in order to become rich is a total absurd.
