21  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Philippines SEC will Ban Binance. Effectivity End of Feb. 2024 on: February 26, 2024, 12:18:15 PM
Sa tingin niyo matutuloy 'to?

May God help us all.

Rules like that ain't practical anymore.

Your girlfriend is never your responsibility, especially when it comes to funding her education, because you're not even married, you're just dating. If your girl get mad at you because you didn't buy her gifts on certain occasion, leave her while it's still early. It's not mandatory for you to spend things on her, since you're still struggling with yourself, just spend the money you can afford to date someone.

Always remember that a girlfriend and a wife is a different thing, and there should be always a gender equality. If you pay for something, she should pay for something else in which both parties would be benefited.

26  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever introduced an elder gambler to online betting? on: February 19, 2024, 01:54:11 PM
I believe it depends on a certain person's financial status.

I would never introduce an online betting casino to someone who is struggling in his life, especially if he has a family to feed, even if he is a gambler. Introducing a new kind of betting online casino only means you are tolerating his bad habit. But, if a certain person is a professional gambler, I don't think it's a bad idea to introduce him in a new kind of betting platform, an online one.
27  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Why in some religion gambling is forbidden? on: February 17, 2024, 01:17:51 PM
Bible says "money is a root of all kinds of evil", with that, I believe all of the religion and other religious organizations forbids gambling or any other illegal ways of earning money that can give anyone a bad effect such as addiction.

Any kind of addiction is bad, that's why anything that is too much is bad. Since we're in a world where money is very important, I believe what the Bible is trying to say, is that we have to be in control for everything. Seeking for more money to be rich, to buy anything we wanted is not bad as long as our conscience is clean and pure, and of course we don't do things that's illegal or inhumane when earning money.

But for some reason, some people are using words of God in order to gain fame and money, imagine how cruel that is.
28  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 14, 2024, 02:04:10 PM
Saving our hard earned money have never been a bad idea, but their are certain things we need to consider before thinking of saving, such as inflation.
Inflation is truly the real enemy to every money that is being saved up, because when the time is right like a year time, when it should be used for it purpose, the value wouldn't be as how it actually was when you started saving it, but on the other hand, if we have been investing that money into Bitcoin, land or gold bit by bit, over the course of a year, the value of that your investment would have added additional value compared to our savings that will be eaten up by inflation.
So too me we should think of investing more of our money than saving it, so that  inflation wouldn't eat it up.

Both are lifesavers.

Though the only disadvantage I could see if the majority of a certain individual is pure savings, it doesn't generate any profit, it's just there sleeping, waiting for you to spend on anything. On the other hand, investing is an active way of generating profits, depending on what kind of investment you're going to do.

For example, you're going to start a business, which most likely is not going to be good in the beginning since you have to get your daily customer first in order to generate profits and a chance to expand your business.

In short, saving is the comfort zone and risking your money in investment is a high risk high reward decision.

30  Economy / Economics / Re: Quitting Smoking Has Two Big Benefits. on: February 13, 2024, 02:10:21 PM
Well, I'm going to say that quitting smoking could really help you to save your money while also having a good health, killing two birds in one stone.

But it is not true to everybody. Some people who give advice to quit smoking so you could save up to buy a car, a house, or something else, then you'll ask them if they smoke, they'll answer "No", and then you'll ask them "do you have a car now since you don't smoke?" Most of them will answer "No, I don't have any" which helps you realized that whether a certain person smoke or not, if he doesn't know how to handle money, he can't buy anything because he can't save any amount.

In short, you can have any vices and still save at the same time, buying anything you want, investing in anything you want. It's all about how you handle your finances, and of course don't just rely on just one source of income.
31  Other / Meta / Re: Use of AI on Bitcoin talk on: February 12, 2024, 12:05:42 PM
Now my confusion is Although the forum says not to use AI content does that mean that paraphrasing with AI is allowed?
There is a difference between using AI-generated text to make posts on the forum and using tools like QuillBot, Grammarly, and many other online English tools to enhance your writing skills.

All the tools is helping you to do is put your grammar in writing sense and not ask the AI to write for you.

I definitely agree with you.

It's entirely different when you're just using those software to help you correct your grammar so that you can clearly state what you're trying to say in a certain topic, unlike using like chatGPT to construct paragraphs for you regarding about a certain topic and just pasting here in the forum.

And another form of paraphrasing that is not allowed in the forum is when you copy someone else's work, which is also considered plagiarism, and use AI to paraphrase it into something else. Such use of AI is abusing and trying to outsmart people, but in the area of grammar and sentence correction, I consider it useful.

About this one, you can avoid plagiarism if you're just going to use a certain blog as your reference by giving proper credits to the author(s).

Also, don't just simply do copy and paste kind of action but try to derived it in your own perspective to avoid plagiarism. It's not bad to read something that you found in google, when you're just trying to get some other opinions regarding about certain topics but don't forget to always put proper credits to the rightful owners, like what I've said earlier.
32  Economy / Economics / Re: Save while young better than wait on: February 09, 2024, 11:17:01 AM
I couldn't agree more.

Don't abuse the saying "you only live once", because that will leave you with nothing, and your friends won't even bother asking you if you're okay when you have no money. Keep saving for yourself, don't waste your money too must for your pleasure, and to please your friends or coworkers. Always invest your money, don't buy too much of your wants.
33  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Must you lose before you gain in Bitcoin investment? on: February 07, 2024, 10:10:53 AM
It depends.

If you're a holder, the reasons you could lose your money is if you stored it in an online wallet and someone stole your Bitcoin, you lose your private key, or you completely forgot you have Bitcoin in your wallet.

Losing money on another situation like futures trading is inevitable, especially you really need to gain experience first before you could make a profit since luck won't help you with it. It's like, in order to be successful, you need to fail a lot of times.
34  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's stupidity to have thousands in Bitcoin using a software wallet on: February 06, 2024, 05:13:46 AM
We never learn until we experienced it.

I've never heard of that "freewallet", and I doubt I will use that since it already sounds like a just wannabe bitcoin wallet, fishy. Now, getting a hardware wallet is a good thing, but it is still has its own risk, depending on how you will store it. In short, you could use electrum or trezor and still might lose your Bitcoin because of a single mistake you'll do or it depends on how unlucky you are.

Just don't put all the eggs in just one basket.
35  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Paying with Bitcoin. on: February 02, 2024, 03:03:56 PM
Paying with bitcoin has been a thing already a few years back. While it is really good because it promotes alternative payment option especially to those who have crypto coins, the problem lies mostly on limited merchant that offers it. Because let's admit it, the process and fees could be longer and higher compared to using traditional payment options.

Transaction processing time and fees could bring more inconvenience than ease to the users which is a major downside when you pay using bitcoin. Additionally, the volatility of crypto can pose a significant impact on both ends. It needs established and clear guidelines on paying, whether it has to be direct conversion of crypto to fiat, or put a fixed amount whatever the exchange rate may be. I believe it still has a long way to go for this to be well-executed.
36  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 31, 2024, 02:39:59 PM
Basically, gambling is not dangerous if we can limit the gambling we do, because then of course we won't gamble excessively. In my opinion, many gamblers suffer big losses because they don't have limits on gambling, so they do it. gambling excessively and of course it shouldn't be. It's true what you said, nothing will be a problem if it is done with good awareness and responsibility. However, this is difficult to apply to yourself, especially when gambling.
Gambling alone isn't really a bad thing. It's just that the reputation of it became tainted due to those who abuse it, then later on suffer the consequences of their own actions. Those people who have no self-discipline are the usual ones who you will see fell into the pitfall of addiction. And this is because they don't really take time to set limitations. Most of the time, all they think about is money. Winnings matter above all, to the point they forget about the risks that gambling possesses. Having no strategic plan before entering gambling is what they lack aside from establishing healthy boundaries which surely is a combo recipe for disaster.
37  Economy / Gambling discussion / Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: January 30, 2024, 12:05:06 PM
Gambling is a means of entertainment that can either bring you good fortune or dilemma. It can give you benefits or consequences depending on how you will use it. To some, it brings them satisfaction and relaxation by playing and betting. While to others, it serves as an income generator by engaging in different activities such as referral, campaigns, and sponsorship. Since time immemorial, gambling has a negative connotation which is mainly due to the widespread news of repercussions experience of those who abused it. Everything that is too much is harmful after all.

Here are some key factors that I believe are often overlooked when someone plans to enter the gambling industry and even those existing players often neglect:

1. Setting Limitations
Gambling isn't totally harmful as long as you are doing things in moderation. Things done responsibly won't take a wrong turn in a snap as long as you are doing what you have to do. Setting limitations is one of those things that you have to prepare and do in order for you to not get lost in gambling. You have to make a budget limitation before you gamble and once you gamble, you must stick with it no matter what the result may be. It's important for you to stand on your ground in your set predefined limitations. This is to prevent you from excessive expenditures and time allotment in gambling which most people do not do because they feel like it isn't important. But it can actually make a whole lot difference.

2. Understanding the Rules, Regulations, Policies, and Conditions
Aside from setting boundaries, you must understand, not only be aware of the existing rules and policies of the casino you want to play or are playing into. It will be essential on your end to know what are the do's and the don'ts, so that you won't be surprised of the notifications on your account such as being flagged as abuse or having unusual activities that may lead to account suspension or permanent banning. The role of being knowledgeable in making right and informed decisions will impact the odds of you encountering less problems in the future. Understanding the probabilities come together with knowing the game mechanics and rules to improve your chances of winning.

3. Financial Management
Wisely managing your funds will make a huge impact on your gambling journey. It can dictate whether you will be bankrupt, have pile of debts, or go on with your life comfortably or even more comfortable depending on how you will make choices. Being a responsible gambler means handling your finances in a smart manner because responsible gambling has a deep connection and relation with how you spend your funds. You must strategize on how you will make your money grow if your main goal is to profit. It isn't enough that you have a goal. You should have an organized and strategic plan to achieve your aim. Additionally, you must know how to prevent yourself from being subjected to financial pitfalls such as loans and credit just to gamble. Maintaining control is your top priority. You should know that is a vital move to separate your gambling fund to your personal and necessary expenses.

4. Utilizing Self-exclusion Programs by Casinos
A lot of people still don't know the existence of this feature in a casino. If you know you have some tendencies to fall short because you have wavering discipline, then you must search on this because it can help you a lot. Self-exclusion is made for players who have high addiction tendency. It is also intended for those people who are still recovering from addiction or dependency. The main takeaway in this is to be excluded from promotions, offers, notifications, as well as access over a casino. This way, you can prevent yourself from being drawn into betting and playing excessively. When you feel like it is necessary for you to stop gambling for a while, you may opt to utilize this tool. It can possibly help you prevent falling completely into addiction or to help you recover from it.

5. Gambling Community as Support
When things go tough, some people become shy to ask for help and to seek for suggestions. But the more that you are hesitating to reach out, the more that you have to do it. Gambling community such as this forum can help you in various ways. You can always ask in different threads, share your story, and seek for possible choices and things to do. Getting support from fellow players can help ease your burden. Some people may encourage you or discourage you from doing something which can widen your perspective on how you will view your present circumstance.

Responsible gambling practices start from within and can be established with the help of other people too. One must be mindful of everything that he wants to do in order to gain a good experience in gambling. Let's be reminded that there is a good approach and balance in doing things that we want without compromising the future.
38  Economy / Economics / Re: Crypto: a place where everyone makes money, but few secure it on: January 27, 2024, 03:44:37 PM
How come they can make a lot of money in cryptocurrency but lose it due to lack of knowledge? It doesn't make any sense to me at all.
You can't make a lot of profits in cryptocurrency if you lack knowledge about it, luck won't even help you every single time. Looks like you're just promoting your blog here, nobody would even read such stories if they are all like that.
39  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is addiction bad only when it is a problem? on: January 27, 2024, 01:31:58 PM
Based on the circumstance that you've mentioned, it doesn't appear to me that a person is addicted if he behaves well enough. Addiction can disrupt the good flow and balance on one's life. If you can handle gambling good and still able to do other tasks, routines, and keeps a healthy dynamics, you are not addicted, rather you are a responsible gambler. Because it takes a lot of discipline and sense of responsibility to perfectly allot time and money on things that you need to do and want to do.

An addict has a problem in balancing his life. If someone becomes too dependent on something, the chances of him doing it more and more and disregarding his other duties is high. Gambling addiction is a serious issue that many faces during this modern times where everything is accessible. And it has so many consequences. Addiction affects your life in a negative way. Perhaps it can elevate some aspects of your life, but there sure are bad effects, and mostly, it outweighs the good ones.
40  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How do i handle my first gambling experience on: January 27, 2024, 11:12:59 AM
Hello senior citizens and my fellow newbies gambler's, now I gat a straight forward question for you all.
How do I prepare myself for my first gambling experience?
What are the things I should expect as a first time gambler?
How do we react to my first gambling results be it winning or lose?
Thank you all for your helpful opinions.

You must prepare in a sense that you will ready your overall well-being to start your gambling journey. And this is not an exaggeration, rather is a must so that you can be equipped. You must check your capability if you can really afford to gamble. Not only in financial aspect, but also checking your character. Being financially independent will definitely help a lot, but having a good mindset, discipline, and sense of responsibility will get you somewhere money alone can't. Only spend what your heart can afford to let go. Do not ever think of pursuing shortcuts, because to be honest, there isn't any.

As a first time gambler, you should expect that being a great gambler isn't something you can master overnight. It takes time. It's a process of continuous learning new knowledge and skills that you can use as your advantage in every bets and plays you will make. There's no such thing as overnight success too. So you should manage your expectations to earn profit instantly. Do not chase winnings or losses. Take a breather if you have to, to avoid losing much more.

In terms of your attitude towards winning or losing, you can be honest to yourself. It's okay to be sad if you lose, and celebrate when you win. Just make sure to do not let it affect you so much to the point that it will compromise your responsibilities. If you feel like you are overwhelmed by either continuous losing or winning, you can pause and think before deciding and acting what you want to do next.
