281  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Holding for long might not be the best option. on: November 09, 2023, 02:47:27 PM
<...>
So what's your sudjestion on this.

Don't buy at the top.

Don't buy just because of FOMO (fear of missing out), that's why many investors are waiting for too long because they bought at the peak price. And they never lose any money while waiting, their Bitcoin stays in their wallet, but the price is not the same, so technically, if they wait for the next bull run, they will make a huge profit if they have a big patient as well, simple as that.
282  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Wedding expenses and party celebrations with Bitcoin money. on: November 09, 2023, 01:27:27 PM
What a lucky day for you.

Congratulations for making a profit and to your wedding. Lucky it worked out just before your wedding day or else you're celebrating less if you didn't invest in bitcoin or if you didn't make a profit in that short period amount of time. My point here is that, aside from investment, make sure that you have another source of income to make your plan happens, especially like a wedding or something very important to avoid sudden changes of plan because of lack of funds.

Also, I know that you want to make your wedding extra special for both of you, but try to be practical as possible since marriage life is kinda hard if you're only going to rely on your investment alone.
283  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is It Late To Invest In Bitcoin? on: November 09, 2023, 12:41:46 PM
If you're going to listen to those self proclaimed experts, you're never ever going to have a bitcoin investment because of their mindset.

It's never too late to invest in Bitcoin, as long as it is still pumping and dumping, buying at the dip is the key for you to start your investment journey. Research on your own, don't listen to a YouTuber's opinion, decide for your own based on the results of your own research regarding about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrency.
284  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Importance of emotion while trading on: November 08, 2023, 02:09:46 PM
There are many people who trade on BitcoinTalk forums. Those who trade must control their emotions. If not, you will have a huge loss in trading. Why emotion is needed while trading is as follows:

1. Profitability: Profitability in the crypto market is very dynamic and variable. Traders' emotions create interest and excitement about their profits.

2. Volatility: The crypto market is volatile, i.e. prices can change rapidly. Having emotion with this position can help traders as it is important to make timely diagnosis.

Here are some ways to control these emotions:

1. Don't expect much profit. For example: You think that you will become rich by investing in a coin.
2. After you have invested in a coin, you find that for some reason it has gone down in the market. At this time, without being emotional, you first look at the condition of the token, what condition it is in, and then take a decision with a cool head.
3. Avoid revisiting a coin after investing. You place a sell order with a specific target.
4. Trade according to market conditions. Don't immediately invest in someone's words.
5. Stay calm and try to control temporary emotions.

As a trader here in the crypto field, our aim is to make a profit. Now, if you don't have enough ideas here, we can still make a profit while we're still studying it, and we can do something like this by buying and holding it long-term, not short-term.

It is important that we gain knowledge about trading before we jump into the so-called day trading activity. In this way, we can help ourselves become responsible traders if we can also make proper use of our emotions in reality.

I think what OP meant when he said "not to expect too much profit" something like that is in futures trading.

Most of the newcomers in the trading world, wants to engage instantly in futures trading using a very high leverage to gain big profits in a short period of time, but what happens most of the time is the exact opposite, they lose a lot of their money because of their sudden actions without any plans at all. This kind of scenario always comes from a social media post, bragging their successful trades in futures, so some people thought that they could do the same when they start trading in futures.
285  Economy / Economics / Re: AI will put an end to work, says Elon Musk on: November 08, 2023, 01:05:59 PM
During an uncommon interview conducted by UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak, the tech billionaire Elon Musk predicted that if AI is not regulated, there will be a time when no job will be needed. This means that AI tools would take over the entire work of men making paid jobs become reductant. He even claimed that humanoid robots might be a perfect friend for one of his sons who is having difficulty in having friends. I have always believed that regardless of how sophisticated these AI tools become, they will never replace humans. But hearing this prediction for an individual who has a full understanding of the AI sector is frightening. Elon Musk owns an AI company, xAI, that is competing with big AI firms like OpenAI, Google and Anthropic.

These comments can increase the fear and anxiety workers always had that these super-computers will replace them in future. What are your thoughts regarding the statement by Elon, do you think we should take him seriously?

I don't think AI can replace every job out there. Nursing for example can't be done by AI imo. How teh fuck AI can fix your pipe? Many jobs will be lost without a doubt but saying that there won't be any work is not realistic. AI can't even finish programming jobs. All we'll have is better (human) software engineers because they can save so much time now. I think people are overrating AI a bit too much. People said the same thing when kiosks invaded McD's but here we are, they still have many human employees taking orders. Kiosks only reduced the lines in these stores. Also these machines are not set and forget. There will always be some people doing their maintenance and they won't work for free too. Machines ain't as cost effective as people think it will.

I agree to the pipe thing but I disagree on the programming.

AI technology is very frightening, I don't know if this is because of watching too much sci-fi movies but let's be honest, it can happen. AI technology evolving, to the point where they exceeded your expectations, like they decide for their own, and function in their own. Though, right now AI and machines replaces a lot of human jobs especially in a factory is also one of the main reasons why unemployment in that certain field is happening.

I mean, when AI and machine works, there's no denying that it makes everything easier, smooth, and well polished. So, we have to think of other jobs to earn money just in case AI overtaken the world.
286  Economy / Economics / Re: Are You Sticking to Your Plan or Has Life Made You Pause or Modify It? on: November 08, 2023, 11:16:31 AM
My investment plan is all good 'till now.

However, my others decisions, for example buying a car and building a house always not goes to plan, it's always been postponed due to various things. Maybe it is because I always broadcast it to social media and to my relatives, maybe they are jinxing it, that's why. So, I changed some things, I never broadcast it anymore, I just do my own things and flex it when I'm done.
287  Economy / Economics / Re: What is the right age for financial stability? on: November 08, 2023, 10:13:24 AM
We have our own different timeline, therefore it's hard to tell when.

But for me, as soon as possible, if you want to be financially stable, you must start at a very young age. Young minds are easier to train, they are more open-minded than old folks, that's why if you see an opportunity to earn money, grab it. It doesn't have to be big in the start, as long as you're making progress, don't rush yourself. The problem of some people why they are still struggling financially is that they wanted a shortcut in success, they wanted 6 digits salary but they lack the experience to have that kind of job or business.
288  Economy / Economics / Re: "I saw my salary on a bottle of perfume today" on: November 08, 2023, 06:28:06 AM
Their money, their choice.

If they are working to buy their wants, let them be, maybe that's where they get their happiness, because they can't get that expensive thing when they were just a kid, or any reason at all. For sure they know the consequences of what they are doing, in the long run, they just don't care for that since their mindset is that they could earn it again and again.

Other people chose to save their money, buy things that is more practical to save even more, which is very good in the long run, especially if you have your own family. Some people choose to be a social climber, and some people choose to be simple. Choose your hard in life.
289  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Low cost but effective solutions to gambling addiction on: November 07, 2023, 02:22:21 PM

A person who has experienced a gambling addiction must have a strong desire and will to cure his gambling addiction. Otherwise, whatever amount of money he uses to cure his gambling addiction will not be successful in curing his gambling addiction because he will return to gambling again because he still thinks about enjoying gambling games. Self-control is something that every gambler must have to prevent gambling addiction, and it is not easy because people can lose self-control after they have been gambling for a while and they don't realize it. We can gamble but with good self-control to prevent problems that will arise in gambling, especially since we have seen and know the impact experienced by people who lose self-control while gambling.

Acceptance and willingness will really come a long way in treating gambling addiction.

An addict must first acknowledge to himself that he is indeed suffering from addiction and must be eager to be treated and to receive medications and interventions. It's not a one-day process to recover from severe gambling habits that has been built for a long period of time. That is why it will not be an easy task to cure it too. Rehabilitation will take a step-by-step progress. It could include highs and lows which includes being clean for a certain period, then having the urge to gamble again. And that's totally normal. It's part of the healing. After all, not all healing are linear. It can even be spiraled. Hence, one must really have the willingness, determination, and persistence to recover. Otherwise, the efforts and treatment will just all go to waste. Being aware and helping yourself are big key factors in getting out of addiction.
290  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Lotteries and possibility vs. probability on: November 07, 2023, 11:48:27 AM

The thing is that, lottery have no specific luck number so for that repeating the same number is a totally wrong approach to picking a lottery ticket, sometimes what makes some lottery players think that choosing the same number will increase their winning chances is that they have picked that same number and hit a jackpot before so there tend to believe that picking same may give them some chances.

Good luck in picking a lottery ticket can come at any time and with any number regardless of what the number represents in the previous game selection.

While it is not advisable for some to bet in the same combination of numbers everytime, some people prefer to do it anyways. They see it at some of lucky numbers that they are caring for, which will eventually be the winning combination of the jackpot prize. It's not really bad to dream, some people attain winning by being motivated and having a great courage in continuing the bets and plays. However, it could take so many years and a very big amount of money, as well as abundant luck in order for it to happen. It will now depend on you if you will continue betting on the same numbers or not. Just do the thing that you think you won't regret later.
291  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: November 06, 2023, 03:35:47 PM
I'm in "Never Get Greedy" because when we do this, for sure you will not end up addicted to gambling, and for sure you will be a responsible gambler because you will also limit yourself to only playing moderately.

You are the kind of gambler who, when greed doesn't enter your life, knows how to limit whether you should continue playing or not, whether you are already winning or losing at the casino. Apparently, in everything you do, you are aware of what you should do as a gambler.

You are right.

If someone is greedy, there's a high percentage that he will be overspending because of uncontrolled urge to bet to win more and more. It's not a healthy habit to frequently bet without analyzing. It's good to have a goal to win, but it's better if you will be disciplined in attaining that goal you have in mind. Reckless and irresponsible gambling is a sure way to destroy yourself and your future.

The time you let greed take over you instead of you controlling and suppressing it, expect for the worst already. This is because greed can bring so many problems upon you such as having financial difficulty due to excessive gambling, getting addicted, and have people you love be distant from you since it could strain a relationship.
292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Referral bonuses are waste of time on: November 06, 2023, 02:16:28 PM

It is absolutely not an easy task. Because those who do gambling are definitely interested in a particular site. Those gamblers are gambling there after observing a lot about that site. If you suddenly offer them to gamble with a new site, will they gamble with full confidence even if they register on that site? Of course not but they can slowly gain trust in that platform. You can't earn money through them until they build trust there. So the task seems easy but in reality it is not easy. Those who have a good network can easily perform these tasks successfully. But it is difficult for a normal referrer to get success from such work quickly.

I agree with this. Referral in gambling isn't an easy task. When you start referring to earn bonus on the side, you must encourage them to play, and to be able to do that, you have to gain their trust. And gaining someone's trust requires effort, time, and of course, persuasion, but in a good manner. You must show them and tell them how it will benefit them so that they will be enticed to deposit, play, and bet.

You must also have a large audience and reach to attain your goal of referrals. If you don't have a wide network, it might be a problem. But if you do have many friends and followers, then you have more edge to bring home money. Just remember though that referrals are just some sort of side rewards for building the gambling community. It isn't and shouldn't be your main source of income since not everyone is interested in gambling and not every people interested in gambling has the capability to immediately dive into it.
293  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Reckless gambling starts after a win round. on: November 06, 2023, 12:15:47 PM

When it comes to gambling, winning  can make us to want to gamble more as well as losing our money can also make us want to gamble more in other to recover our lost funds but the topic of discussion here is about the effects of winning and I think it'll be good to stick to the topic and talk about it.
When a gambler wins, there's always a feeling to gamble more in other to win more and that I think is something that's very common among gamblers. Some call it greed while other see as a way of trying to utilize that time they feel that luck is on their side. But personally, I think reckless gambling does start after winning.

It depends on the person still. But yes, most reckless gambling occurs after a win. This is because they feel confident that they could win again. This is not wrong since it's good to play if you are at peace with your bet. However, if there will be too much confidence, you might end up neglecting the risks because of being too proud that you can replicate your win for the next time around. If you win, don't let it get into your head because it could be the cause your downfall. Being too complacent whenever betting and playing can build a mindset that could tear you apart. You should still assess and analyze the situation before you bet. If you possess the skills, knowledge, and luck to risk some more.

There are times that people won just because of luck and having a good intuition. It isn't really guaranteed especially if you will play luck-based games.
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gamble! Easy or Hard? Let's talk. on: November 06, 2023, 11:29:32 AM
That's true, when you're so addicted to gambling, you'll do everything you can to gamble, so it's very difficult when you're in this situation. But that doesn't mean he can't be treated, it's up to the person if he really wants to change he can do it. Yes, it's easy to say, but if you're dedicated, nothing is impossible. You just have to believe in yourself that you can do it.
Yeah you are correct, one of the things about gambling addict is that they tend to be very upsess with gambling as such that they will be willing to use all they have including there properties to gamble, that's why is always advice able to have control on everything we do so that when you feel you are pushing too much you can easily advised yourself.

Because gambling addiction has greatly affected not just the gamler but also there relationship and families, however I witnessed it myself how many years of relationship break up because of the gambling.

It is also constructive not only relying on the person's will power only in order to face addiction to gambling, in my opinion. If someone is still in a phase which allows them to get attention and support from family members who genuinely care about that situation, then I do not see why not to take that as an advantage and reveal the problem to them, so they can intervene.
It is one of the reasons I have explained in one thread about there about keeping gambling a secret hobby or secret activity. I would personally advice anyone who start gambling, to disclose it to their family and be open when one starts to struggle with loses, sometimes that kind of early honest can save many people from a late sadder development in their life.

That is only my opinion, of course.

It will not be applicable to everyone since not everyone has a reliable family and support system to lean on. But for those people that have a good support system, it will be your advantage if you will share your gambling habits to your trusted family member or friend. This way, you can be guided and be criticized when you are blinded of the things that you think are beneficial to you. Since sometimes, gamblers tend to be irrational and impulsive in decision making, which results to troubles and worries later on due to error in making an action towards a situation.

If you feel comfortable in disclosing your struggles, it would be better too so that you can be advised of the things you have to do that you fail to notice or acknowledge. Especially if you are in the verge of falling into addiction, it will be very helpful to have people to support you and care for you. It can also be a motivation to quit gambling altogether.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: November 06, 2023, 10:33:38 AM

The future of children is not determined by us, but they themselves will determine later. as parents we can only give the right direction the rest they will live life and have their own choices. But all parents want the best for their children because no parent wants their children to be misunderstood or have a bad future. So do I, even though I like gambling but I will never show it to children, whether it's other people's children or my own children, of course if they are not old enough they shouldn't know about gambling.

But if they have grown up with today's technology increasingly advanced with online gambling that can be accessed using cellphones later they will also know themselves by that, so the rest if they have grown up they have a choice which is good and not good for themselves or others and the family. With the right direction from parents from their childhood it will also affect their behavior. So as much as possible we must give good direction.

I agree with this.

Parents should be there to guide their children. That's the most important part because they should be led into a path that is right and that will be beneficial to them later on in the future. It will not be a good thing to introduce gambling at a very young age when there's still no good comprehension or understanding can be expected from them. After all, they are still naive about how the world works. If they will be exposed to gambling at a young age without proper guidance such as informing them about its pros and cons, there's a chance that they will be curious and be impulsive just to try it out of boredom and exploration.

Gambling topic can be introduced once they reach the puberty age. The moment they become interested in it, it's the parents best chance to made them aware of the consequences. Parents cannot dictate nor impose their own dream or way of life to their child. Rather they must just simply be there to help them figure things out.
296  Economy / Economics / Re: Does Using a Credit Card Demonstrate Financial Literacy? on: November 04, 2023, 02:20:44 PM
Do you believe that someone who exclusively uses cash for their purchases rather than credit cards is demonstrating financial literacy? Many argue that people tend to be financially reckless when using credit cards, often forgetting that it involves borrowing money. In various Netflix TV shows depicting individuals in debt seeking advice from financial advisors, the most consistent suggestions for getting out of debt are usually to cut up their credit cards and transition to making cash payments.

Individuals who avoid using credit cards tend to have a higher probability of being debt-free, showcasing financial discipline, and experiencing greater satisfaction compared to those reliant on credit cards. What are your thoughts on this stance?

I can't deny the fact that using a credit card when you buy something makes you different from others, I mean for some people they use it to be cool, and to show that they have a lot of money to spend, but not all credit cards users are wealthy people, others just don't have any idea what's the disadvantage of using one or they just love to brag.

Paying in cash is much cooler for me, and I am complacent that I don't have a high interest fee to pay when it's time to pay. I've had a friend who pay a large debt because he used his credit cards like crazy not knowing that he needs to pay the interest by using a credit card.
297  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How much could you earn in a day ? on: November 04, 2023, 12:31:03 PM
My opinion on this is that:

Don't pressure yourself, don't set a certain amount that you should earn in a day, I mean, be more realistic about what you could earn in a day, especially if when you're a newbie. Don't set too much expectations on yourself yet to avoid disappoinment because you don't need negative energy on your trading journey.

Be happy on whatever you could earn per day, stop comparing your earnings to someone's who's been in trading world for a long time already, that would only keep you in a box and you won't grow if you keep comparing yourself to other successful traders in a bad way.
298  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Must Read: Scams disguised as premium signal groups/channel on: November 04, 2023, 11:11:14 AM
That's why I never joined any of them even though I was just starting trading way back then.

Paid cryptocurrency signal groups are not worth it for your money, you might want to spend your money on your trading journey rather than trusting random people who "provide" trading signals. You have to know that technical analysis will not always give you profits, so why pay someone for it if you can make on your own. Making your own will help you grow, you might lose a lot of money first before your trading accuracy will increase but it's worth it in the long run.
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the irreversibility of Bitcoin transactions a downside for an average person? on: November 03, 2023, 02:46:50 PM
Making it reversible is much complicated rather than simply double checking if everything is correct before making a transaction.

Even for an average person, that wouldn't be hard enough to do such simple thing to make their transaction safe. It's not that bitcoin's transaction being irreversible is a downside, the problem here is that some people are not concerned about their transaction might gone wrong because of a very simple mistake, they just copy and paste the address then that's it. That's why it's too late before they realized they made a mistake at their end.
300  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do not share your bitcoin holdings with everyone on: November 03, 2023, 12:44:22 PM
You should've added the link where we can read or watch the news you were talking about.

Nonetheless, it's not really recommended or worth to share your bitcoin holdings or any kind of investment you have to your relatives, friends, or even to your family that envy your success in a bad way. Trust no one, but yourself, since you're not gonna get anything from bragging your wealth, whether it's on social medias or when you're out with your family and friends.

Stay lowkey and keep them wondering about your success.
