101  Economy / Economics / Re: Corruption in Nigeria as a Problem of Economic Growth and Development on: January 06, 2024, 03:39:22 PM
This is not new.

Corruption is the number one goal of every government, I believe. People who has great power nowadays are always after money, they don't care how they would get it, they just get it no matter what. Corrupt government are everywhere around the globe, they are the type of politicians who doesn't care about their citizens, unless it is election time.

They are the ones who always use sugarcoated words to brainwashed people's mind to encourage them to vote for those kind of politicians. What a cruel world we live in.
102  Other / Off-topic / Re: Just a reminder. Don't lose yourself in the process. on: January 06, 2024, 09:07:08 AM
We now live in a world where we are busy making money and making ends meet. We have to in order to survive. The competition is so high that sometimes we lose ourselves in that process. We are busy making a successful life so that no one related to us won't suffer. Having a decent bank balance, having a property or having a car. Working to the extreme to make that dream come true.

But in that process, are we giving enough attention to our surroundings? People close to us or our loved ones, are we giving enough time to them? When we are gone, what will they say about us? Or even if someone left us forever, will we have enough memory to remember them?

Earning money and being successful is important in life. But never forget who you are and the people around you. Money is not everything. It is important to survive but make sure to take some time to bond with people around you. It will also help reduce the anxiety or stress that you are having because of all that work.

Trust the process, you will be successful one day for sure. But never lose your own soul in that process.

This is very true.

It's not bad to work like you're really broke but always make it balance. Too much time in the office or in your work makes you incomplete as a human being, especially if you have your own family. You also have to spend time with them, watch you kids as they grow, knowing what's their favorite, and what kind of game they love to play. You also need some vacation, to clear your mind away from stress in your work, to be more productive.

It's important to know if you work for money or money works for you.
103  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Anyone can succeed as a bitcoin trader on: January 06, 2024, 08:18:07 AM
Not just typically anyone, that anyone should have a lot of patient, money, and dedication to continuously learn about how trading exactly works and what he needs in order to make profits most of the time.

If a trader doesn't have those things, he will just fail over and over again because he don't want any failures in his career, he just wanted to win always. But it doesn't work that way, in order to learn you have to make mistakes first, because that's where you'll gain experience, and that will be your teacher to the next steps you're going to make.
104  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Maybe future trade is gambling on: January 05, 2024, 01:20:46 PM
This topic has been discussed here so many times but this is my opinion.

Gambling is much riskier for me, why? Well it is rigged most of the time. What I mean by that is it is designed for the house to win always, for the sake of their bankroll. You can play gambling in physical casinos and you won't even win, maybe you can, but that is just to lure you in even more, to make you believe that you have a chance to make a fortune.

While trading also includes risking your money in order to gain even more money, at least you're the one who can make it fair and you know the market action is not rigged like in gambling. You have a high chance of making profits in futures trading if you also have a high amount of knowledge that helps you produce solid fundamentals or technical analysis in trading.
105  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One more filed smear campaign against Bitcoin on: January 05, 2024, 12:18:33 PM
We can't prevent that from happening, since we have our pwn judgment from things to things.

People who believe on influencers spreading FUDs are just those whose knowledge is not enough to figure out that ETF's approval will not determine Bitcoin's future. That's why it is so important to study as much as possible about bitcoin and other cryptocurrency to avoid panic selling and being in FOMO to avoid losing opportunities that could give you profits in the long term.
106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: We dont own enough bitcoin on: January 05, 2024, 10:58:18 AM
There is more to life than just bitcoins or acquiring wealth though. Don't get lost in chasing your tail. I said it plenty of times before, it's always best to have some goals set in life, i.e. knowing why exactly you want to acquire more bitcoins, how many are enough, and to what point are you going to hold them.
Collecting sats just for the sake of it sounds a bit silly.
And that's not even to mention all the "don't keep all your eggs in one basket" rule etc.

I definitely agree.

Having too much is bad, I mean, you have to take a break from everything. You can't spend your life acquiring bitcoin just because "you don't have enough". We often forget how to live the life we have because we only focused on one thing, and that's the material things here in the world we live in. For me, I don't have to acquire too much, I'm happy as long as I have more than enough to give myself the life I wanted to be, and same goes to the family I'm going to build in the future.
107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What if Bitcoin ETF is not Approved on: January 05, 2024, 10:07:56 AM
Bitcoin ETF is always been denied for so many times already, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is going to be denied again this year.

Nonetheless, Bitcoin will always be the same, it will dump but it is normal and another opportunity to buy even more for long term investment. It's the same situation as always, people will doubt bitcoin, spreading FUDs saying Bitcoin's price will go to zero, etc. And for those who really know how cryptocurrency works, it's a gift to make more profits in the long run.
108  Economy / Economics / Re: The power of investment choices on: January 04, 2024, 01:38:17 PM
Investing in altcoin is a trial and error process, sometimes what you need is all luck.

An intense research is what you need if you want to invest in Altcoin, it's much cheaper than Bitcoin and you could buy a lot and make a lot of profit if you're lucky enough that your research was right or your luck is always there with you. On the other hand, Bitcoin is the very first choice especially if you wanted a guaranteed high profit in the long run, though you need to buy in the dip not when you're in FOMO.
109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: why do people always play gambling even if they always lose? on: January 04, 2024, 11:58:51 AM
Leisure.
There are some people who are just gambling not because of money, some could be gambling because they have a lot of extra time and don't know what to do, so they decided to gamble.
Another reason could be thinking that their next gamble will be able to win, but lose then repeat again.

I share the same factors in mind.

Some players are still gambling possibly because they consider it as their leisure activity. They treat it as an outlet of stress, a form of relaxation, and one of the main ways to entertain themselves after a tiring day. This is okay as long as they are gambling responsibly, which means gambling repeated times despite whatever the results will be, as long as it is within the set limitations they had for themselves. If they are still within the boundary that they have set, I guess it's okay to have a repeated bet and play since that is still a calculated expenditure on their end.

Meanwhile, the other reason would probably because they think that if they keep on playing and betting despite numerous and consecutive losses, they can still win the next time around. Dependency and gambling addiction come into play in this. Their minds play a trick on them that makes them get so hooked up despite knowing the risks, they tend to neglect it and proceed to have high hopes.
110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you care about what people say about you gambling? on: January 04, 2024, 11:00:36 AM
If you know it to yourself that you are a disciplined and responsible gambler, then there's no point in doubting yourself. As long as you are doing your duties as spouse, a parent to your children, and a good child of your parents, then all they are spitting should not matter. If you are providing your family a shelter, food, support and care that they need, you are doing a good job and should be entitled to your little luxuries in life. It's not as if you did something wrong when you gamble. If you want it to be your form of relaxation or outlet of stress, then so be it. Just remember to not compromise what matters the most and those should be your priority.

If ever someone would come at you with prejudice such as being an irresponsible gambler, just try to let them be aware or educate them about it. Because we can't really blame people who have negative thinking about it due to its reputation to the masses even way back then.
111  Economy / Economics / Re: Habits that can lead to your financial failure in 2024 on: January 04, 2024, 09:13:26 AM
Being stuck in your comfort zone is pretty relaxing and depressing at the same time.

I'm afraid to try new things, I stopped trading for a while since I said to myself that maybe I'm not just good at it, but I'm willing to try it again once I've saved some money as my capital. My problem now I believe is that I always buy things that I "need" to cure my boredom, and sometimes, I spend a lot on it. So now, I decided to not spend any of my Bitcoin, hodl for a while and earn some and will sell it once a new all time high happen.

And I'll use my profit to start a little business to accumulate more money as much as possible.
112  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and health concern on: January 03, 2024, 02:23:55 PM
lucky to have a son around. so the son knows he won a big amount.

doc says just balance the diet and keep monitoring your pressure. if you have this condition. i do see it as a big problem since it could happen any time wherever you are. i remember a news where a man having sex with his mistress and suffered a stroke while in the middle of sex. the high blood pressure didn't wait for his orgasm to be over and he died.

i was told a pinch on the tip of the finger of the patient with a needle just to let him bleed a little can save a life. i think you just need a needle all the time if you have hypertension.  Grin

Of course, before you start gambling, you need to really assess your health. If there are problems with the heart and blood vessels, there are mental disorders, or other issues, it is better to refuse or minimize the time devoted to gambling. In any case, it is you who is responsible for your health

Agree with this.

Health should always come first. You can't really gamble if you are bedridden or if you have something in your body that is aching and needs medical attention. Whether it may be physical or mental health issue, it needs to be addressed before you enter the gambling world. That way, you have no other thing to worry about except how to win if you have a goal of play to profit. Additionally, you can have fun without stressing yourself and putting a strain on your health. It's always best to prioritize your well-being over gambling. You should watch your blood pressure especially if you have high blood because you can have sudden rise of bp during the peak of the games that could lead to heart attack. So better to know your overall health status than be complacent.
113  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The shorter the time you spend the better on: January 03, 2024, 12:20:42 PM
The amount of time spent gambling does have an effect. That doesn’t mean the amount of money used in playing doesn’t count. Both the time spent in playing and the money spent are both important to look out for whenever you’re playing.
When you’ve spent more time playing than already planned, there is a high probability that you’ll also spend more money than you bargained for. If you spend more time playing, you’re also likely to spend more money that you didn’t plan to spend as well. It’s that simple. Best to set a time and perhaps an amount limit and stick to it.
You are right. Using more time and money to gamble can put you at risk of losing a lot of money. In gambling, there is a possibility that a person loses control of himself, which can cause him to lose all his money, so he can only regret it. That is why when gambling, we have to be very careful in how we use our time and money so that we don't spend all the money we have. Many gamblers have lost all their money because they lost control of themselves in gambling so they couldn't do anything because everything was gone. The most important thing is that a person must be able to limit himself while gambling so that he does not lose a lot of money.

It's really possible for a player to lose himself in the process especially if he isn't disciplined enough and if doesn't know the fundamentals, and the do's and don'ts in gambling. Gambling is a risky form of entertainment, and everyone who wants to gamble should know about that. If a person will spend so much time betting and playing, it's really possible that he will suffer the consequences of it such as having financial difficulty, decreased time with loved ones, and even being addicted. It's essential to know how to limit yourself in betting and in playing in both online or offline so you won't get lost. The shorter time you spend in gambling, the more time you can allot it to something else. Then the lesser the possibility of being addicted. Balancing everything will be one of the key factors to have a peaceful and stress-free life.
114  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Best Practices for Staying Safe When Gambling on: January 03, 2024, 11:12:46 AM
A gambler who is greedy and has the ambition to make money will never care about any warnings because they will only do whatever he thinks is right, he does not consider any warnings even though they are warnings that might be good for him to listen to.
Facing gambler attitude like this, it is much better to just leave it alone and wait for him to have problem that is difficult to solve until he regrets it.
That way his mind can return to normal and he will try to do things that are much better for himself.

Sometimes, it's really us who make our lives much harder than it should be. Some players have this kind of mindset that they keep on being stubborn because they haven't experienced bad thing yet. Instead of learning from the mistakes of other people, they rather experience it first-hand to know the harsh reality. Perhaps it's really a matter of perspective and how discipline you are. Some have an attitude problem which makes their ego their priority instead of what's practical. So they take things on their own way which turns out to be difficult and wrong in some ways. They'll only listen once something happened, but by then, you can no longer turn back time, so regret and wishful thinking is often present after the worse events. So it's really on you if you want to make it easier or you want to suffer in gambling.
115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: A tip for staying resposible while gambling. on: January 02, 2024, 03:46:52 PM

Yes, every gambler must own everything you mentioned so they will not fall into gambling. Maybe we don't need to interpret it too complicatedly and just need to understand that gambling requires clear restrictions so that we don't gamble excessively. We must be able to use it as a free time activity and immediately stop gambling when we start gambling for too long. By practicing everything, we can use gambling as it is and will not try to chase the win because it will not be easy to get.

If everything can be done responsibly, we can enjoy gambling as entertainment and fill our free time. We will not consider how to recover from previous losses or win bigger wins. Everything will only be done with self-control and awareness that enjoying gambling is the most important thing and not chasing the end result. Some people may want to win or recover from their losses, but as long as they realize it won't be easy, they won't be eager to get it.

I agree with this.

Self-control is very important in gambling. If you don't have it, then better think twice or even more before diving into it. It's definitely not for the faint hearted and irresponsible ones. Although apparently, not everyone possesses the good traits to be categorized as responsible gambler that's why there are gambling addicts up to date. So it's really best to prevent while you can such as equipping yourself self-restraint by doing balanced bets spendings and time spent in gambling whether online or offline.
116  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is the perception of people about gamblers in your neighborhood? on: January 02, 2024, 12:40:25 PM
Until now, it seems that gamblers are seen as bad by the people in my area because once there was a case of a young gambler who killed a grandmother because he was caught robbing her house, since then in the eyes of the community, gamblers are like a disgrace, where sometimes people act wildly when they are addicted to gambling such as robbing and committing other crimes. Since then, I prefer gambling outside the house rather than gambling openly in public, visible to the people in my neighborhood.

What a terrible news! This is so saddening considering the fact that it's already a senior citizen who was killed. The grandma should have been enjoying her remaining years with her loved ones, only to be killed by some gambling addict that can't control his urge to steal not only money, but life as well. It's so frustrating and maddening that some even get to escape their crimes after bailing, then will just proceed with their old habits.

And this is why we cannot really blame others if they still have a negative perspective on gambling. Gambling either brings the best or worst in people. And most of the time, the dark side is being seen by the majority, which is the reason why gambling is still a taboo talk and it still has a negative connotation.
117  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe in gambling experts predictions? on: January 02, 2024, 11:40:10 AM
Personally, I don't. It's because there's really no guaranteed winning even if you ask many gambling experts because there's no such thing. It could be helpful at some point in making your bet, yes, but it won't give you the 100% certainty of winning despite how confident and trusted your gambling expert is. And if anyone claims he is a gambling expert who could sureball your win, he probably isn't, so be careful.

If you have money at your disposal to avail the gambling expert service, then go. But if you don't, just do your own in-depth research and ask for fellow gamblers who are in it for the long time and is knowledgeable enough. Then decide from there. Just remember that your decisions are your responsibility. So do not ever blame anyone once you made your bet no matter which advices you took. Research is your friend when it comes to sports betting.
118  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Never gamble in front of your kids. on: January 02, 2024, 10:56:58 AM
As growing up, the best example always from the people that surround you, first thing is the parent who are showing what business are they dealing in their everyday life, if the child keep on seeing that they are open from playing and they are enjoying or they are okay with what they are involve with, there's always that chance that the same thing the kids will follow.

If you want to be a responsible parent, it's always best to keep your children away from the things that you understand which possible to ruin their lives, unless you have that full time to guide them when worse comes when they already involve into gambling, which is for sure you don't as there are more things in life that you needed to take care of.

We have so many gambling casino representatives here. Did they ruined any forum members life? Is there anyone here who has a relative or close friend whos life was ruined by gambling? Or our experience of "gambling ruin lives", "gambling is bad" is build on articles, video stories or movies? If a kid is easily addicted to things, it is easy to influence on him, then gambling yes, can be dangerous for him and it is advisable not to gamble in front of such kids. But he can similar be addicted to fast foot, smoking, drinking, overeating, overspending money. Solution to whole problem of this topic is easy - know your kid.

Gambling can really ruin lives. I know a few people who were acquaintances who are addicted to gambling and thus ruined their life. It may be a hearsay to you, but it's really happening. Gambling addiction and consequences are real. If you don't believe it because it hasn't happen to you or to anyone you know of, then consider yourself lucky. Because no sane person would want to experience the harsh repercussions of gambling dependency such as having financial debts, ruined relationship with loved ones, and having bad credit history due to mismanagement of funds.

I've also read many confessions about their gambling addiction and how it destroyed their lives in different instances. There were people also asking for help and advices on how to combat it and how to quit successfully. There's more to it than you think. Although these things aren't developed overnight, so it's most of the time a you-error. And if you don't want this to happen to your kids or to your nephews or nieces, then you should at least do not let them be involved in gambling and tell them the cons of it once they reach a certain age to distinguish whether it's worth the risk or not.
119  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are You Buying More Tickets To Increase Your chances on: January 02, 2024, 09:59:41 AM
Based on my observations back then when my father was still actively betting in lottery, he tends to bet for 2 number combination whenever he gets the news that the winning prize skyrocketed. One number combination included the numbers he is 'taking care of' which were our birth dates, and the other one just a random number combination which he felt like betting on. And that became his tradition way back which for me, is a waste of money, time, and effort since he'll always go to lottery ticketing shop after work which could be alloted for relaxing at home instead. But I can't really blame him and force him my beliefs since after all, it's his money, and he knows what he's doing.

Having numerous entries will certainly increase your winning chances, however, it will only do so little considering the number of combinations there is in order to win the jackpot prize. It's really just pure luck when it comes to lottery.
120  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Online or offline gambling which is more safer? on: January 01, 2024, 03:52:47 PM
There's really no safer platform when it comes to gambling especially if the person is addicted or dependent in it. Whether online or offline, people who want to bet and play will find a way to access the casino games to satisfy his urge. Although for sure, accessibility also plays a role, but it isn't the sole determinant of the decision of the player to either play or do other things. Losing and winning isn't also much dependent on the setting, unless you are much more inclined in doing the one over the other which dictates your comfortability and mood that could possibly set how you play. In the end, it all boils in discipline. On how you will behave in online and offline scenarios. Because some of the factors that can lead you to gamble more on offline can be used online too and vice-versa.
