Merry Christmas from Greece. It's 22C here. Cool
202  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: December 23, 2015, 01:08:35 PM
Will it go down even further? Anyone hoping it goes up to 40 dollars like in 2013?

i will but i dont think ltc will make 40 again i would love 2 like most of you but realistically we wont see it any time soon
The result of 2013 was fraudulent, you can not refer to this price as a mark in history. Litecoin is just starting to pick up a good pace, under the wing of Bitcoin. It will slowly grow into something prosperous if it continues the way it is going. The community is also still around, which is also a good sign.

No, $40 is a bit hard; but I guess it will be able to surpass 10-15 with ease within the next weeks/months.

Anyone here noticed that China CCMFs?  Cool

we'll be at >500 soon, but <400 sooner.

Fibonacci rules as always. Target is 380, but the situation is so bullish I am not trading off chances. Just wait until we get the 6 consecutive weekly green candles and then try to time the top. 20% daily rise is pretty good sign, 30% (on top of the exponential rise) is a sure sign.

I concur; more than 500 within the week (maybe later tonight). Smiley

my friend has been diagnosed with a bad disease.

off topic: go be healthier, all of you.

Sorry to hear that.

This reminds me to cut down on the smoking. Preferably, to near zero :/

I used to smoke about 3 Camel packs per day. Luckily I decided that the best thing to do was to cut it and buy a bicycle... 15 years now Smiley

PS: Wish him all the best spooderman. Sad
206  Economy / Economics / Re: Economic Totalitarianism on: December 14, 2015, 02:05:55 PM
Yow, it's getting hard to keep up with all the changes our lousy governments are foisting upon us.  The whole EU experiment does NOT look like it is making Europeans (people) happy.
And when these changes are fuzzy border police ones, yikes!
It is convenient for American tourists of course, just change dollars to euros...

This is planned and organized since the mid 60s. Our future as species and inhabitants of this planet, is to bond together without sovereign states, towards a unite world with one collective government that will include everybody. This is the "noble" plan. The ugly part is that whether we like it or not, if we agree or disagree, it's gonna happen. There are far more serious things to worry about (ie:Extinction Level Event) that as time goes passing by, get relentlessly closer and closer.

All in all, I dare to admit I'm not against such a plan; but I'm against the people who try to enforce it because -as it seems- their cause is not at all noble. This is worth revising and get dealt with. This is what we should focus on.

I'm posting this because most of the (new) people here, *possibly* didn't notice that the only STABLE alt at the moment when BTC hits new highs seems to be XMR. Either you get it - or you don't, I don't have the time to explain. Roll Eyes

Its all fun and games till someone dumps 1000+ btc.

Today's volume at Huobi is almost 1.5M

An interesting article from the New York Times that shows how modern banking treats its clients as sheep whose purpose is to be fleeced.

That's normal for the world and capitalism. Individuals/Companys act in their own best interest, that's quite old news.

Isnt it sad that what should be called proper behaviour is now being punished?

i know what you mean "it is" maybe the right time for some
im holding some amount of ltc and dash in stack but i dont hope much cuz if i didnt sell them on 40$ i sure wont now

I hate to bring it up to you so plainly and straightforward, but it's NOT wise to stash alts. Alts are a fine leverage when BTC rides the top. Then AND ONLY THEN it's the right time to buy in and wait until the alts pump. Most possibly, if you're lucky that is, BTC will go back to "normal" (ie: heavy drop) and your "investment" will eventually bring back to you a nice 1.5x or even 2x of your initial BTC stash.

Of course, you can go low if you pick up the wrong horse, but, that's trading - I guess... Roll Eyes

I think gui should be releases in summer. And mid next year there should be a hard fork of monero. But not sure if this is correct though.

Maybe not the best place to ask, but why does it take so much more time?

A GUI already exists, but it's external. Works fine even with the latest beta binaries (tested).

I'm surprised. It looks like this time, even some of the veterans in here tend to believe the Satoshi revelation story, that Wright = Satoshi.

Granted, the Wired/gizmodo article and research behind is somewhat better than that awful Newsweek "Look! Same last name!" story, but aside from that: whatever hard evidence Wired has (or has revealed so far) is rather flimsy as well. As far as I can tell, the major documents containing proof of identity either cannot be verified (cryptographically, say), or haven't been verified (by some indirect method).

All in all, I see very little strong evidence, and mainly just a man whose reaction to the Wired story is consistent with someone who could be Satoshi. But in that case, motivation matters, and it's rather funny how it only seems to cross a few peoples' minds that somebody might actually want to be believed to be Satoshi. The crypto nerds mainly seem to focus on the "He just wants his privacy!" angle, so somebody possibly trying to take credit for Satoshi's work doesn't seem to fit in.

Last observation: Wright's style doesn't pass the sniff test. From the soundbites and writing samples I've seen, there's a big difference between Wright's and Satoshi's style -- the latter's phrasing and argument development being rather modest sounding, never boasting -- which means I personally want to see a lot more hard evidence -- i.e. documents constituting proof of identity between the two, that also have been shown to be authentic and non-tampered with -- before seriously considering that Satoshi has been identified.

I concur; having this conversation with a friend today I rationalized my objections to this story with pretty much the same words. Believe me we will witness several similar "revelations" until BTC becomes what's destined to. Finally, I want to put a more "simple" thought in this.

Imagine you're Satoshi; you've invented an extraordinary digital currency that will revolutionize the whole planet. You've included -but not limited to- economics, forensics, cryptography, networking, mathematics, chaotic modelling, social engineering in order to make it happen, and insure it's gonna fulfill its destiny.

Undeniably, -if you're a single entity- and not a bunch of scientists, you're quite an extraordinary mind. What are the odds you didn't close all the links that lead to you? Didn't you foresee something like this coming?

I rest my case.
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Litecoin is officially dead on: December 09, 2015, 09:26:52 AM
so if bitcoin price up litecoin price will be up too ?
any one can explain it ?

Not necessary true. If the US$ price of litecoin is fixed, when the price of bitcoin go up, litecoin price in terms of bitcoin will drop. This happened to many alcoin when the bitcoin price rose recently.

seem like that ltc is following btc in big jumps but price change is in cents not in dollars so this may be good only for those who have 1000 or more ltc stashed

*IF* BTC continues it's ride up, this is the perfect moment to get yourselves some LTCs/XMR/ETH, ie: "heavy" alts. Later it will be too late. Roll Eyes

Running multi-bots within an exchange that uses 0-fees? Please tell me a good reason why should someone NOT do it? Since the exchange has no legal obligation (regulation-wise) to post every transaction on the ledger it's perfectly fine by me. Besides, let's face it; it was ALWAYS China behind BTC (or at least some people want it to look this way).

As per the real volume, I agree, it's not represented right on OKcoin & Huobi; but, IMHO, there's actually enough to justify the rally

Chill and relax. Bubble 4 is en route.

CCMF it is. Wink
218  Economy / Speculation / Re: PnF TA on: December 07, 2015, 06:19:47 PM
Let me remind you that we're at the "pillow" that we fell on when we hit the $500 level. Eventhough I'd like to see some volume to support my claim, I'd bet my bitcoins that we go up to the next level...

The nice thing to follow is the LTC (which I personally thought that it would cover its losses much earlier). There's a strong buy signal if we cross $4.50-$4.90 area. Again, as I wrote above, this should be done with a significant volume too.

Cheers.

Yellen moves Fed to brink of December rate hike

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) — Federal Reserve Chairwoman Janet Yellen on Wednesday made it pretty clear she’ll support the central bank’s first interest-rate increase in nine years when policy makers meet in two weeks.

In a speech to the Economic Club of Washington, Yellen said she expects the economy to continue to grow over the forecast horizon, adding more jobs and bringing inflation back up toward the central bank’s 2% annual target.

“I currently judge that U.S. economic growth is likely to be sufficient over the next year or two to result in further improvement in the labor market,” Yellen said.
