There isn't calculator for XMR at this time?

this seems a great coin, but CPU/GPU 1:1 is really a problem, those with GPUs won't be interested in it.
GPU's for Monero are more than 20x more efficient at mining than CPU's...

No way. It depend of the CPU. The best CPUs are still better than any GPU :

AMD Opteron 6344 --> 430 hash for 115 W --> 3.75 h/W
R9 290-4GD5 - ASUS   --> 437.5 hash for 216 W --> 2.02 h/W
GeForce GTX 750 T --> 200 hash for 60 W --> 3.33 h/W

AMD Opteron 6344 is 85.6 % more efficient that a R9
AMD Opteron 6344 is 12.6 % more efficient that a 750 T

EDIT : Actually, dual AMD Opteron 6272 is even better : 3.91 h/W

Hmmm, how about no?

(I normally get 670h/s with my R9 290 at stock and 220h/s with my i7 3820)

According to your power numbers it should be at 3.1 hs/W, and it's more cheaply an easily scalable.
Gpu miner still has some good 10-30% optimizations left according to the developer.

Smaller gpu advantage compared to scrypt though, that's for sure. Not 20x, not 10x, gpus are just 1.6x faster.
203  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.1 on: July 05, 2014, 09:40:45 AM
Claymore if i may say some word.
First I wont to say that one "virus detection" of 54 means nothing. I may call ten antivirus maker and told that put file in virus signature and mark it as virus. False positive is from years ago, will be, and always some peace of software will be false positive. I dont wont to go to discussion why is that heapen but it is.
So, one detection doesn't mean nothing and icon oh Trojan doesn't mean it is "bad software".

Your software Claymore is in my case much more "bad" then any proxy. Why?
Because I MUST terminate Kaspersky before I start CPU or GPU miner. so what I should think about your software? That is peace of shi...?
No, you miner, both of your miners are fastest and I am very happy you write it and publish it. But you also do NOTHING to make it compatible with Kaspersky.
Your protection is bad, and you wont to change it because if you does, someone will recompile, change or anything else, and you will loose your dev fee.

And last: if it is true that you earn 6000 XMR ( and who knows how many other coins) then I think you should  release little slower ( lets say 5 % slower) miners, and look what public will accept: your faster or slower miner.
5% is not small amount: I am very small miner, I have 1KH/s. 5% to me is one day of mining in 20 days...  Lower to 2.5 percent...

1. I agree about false alarms. I don't state this proxy is a virus. But I see that my antivirus alarms sometimes when I close it. Scanning is ok, however.
2. You are correct about protection - I cannot remove it because some people want to spend their time to crack the miner instead of writing own one. So I do nothing because I cannot do anything here. Say thanks these guys.
3. Ok, I just released v4.2 with "-nofee" option, in this mode miner is a bit slower (-10%) but absolutely free, so I will lose 100%, you will lose only 5%. If you think that I'm bad greedy guy and does not deserve the fee - enable this mode.

For the amount of work you put in, 5% (despite being a big cut but) is worth it.

Props on the nofee option, I don't use it since I prefer to support the dev in this case.

Gpu mining is on top of the charts, second only to mining coins with insider info of pumps to come lol

Another 'welcome to my ignore list' guy funny...

My take: http://www.tradingview.com/x/f8W7DdF8

I won't buy more till it drops, don't trust the guys who bought the ipo. Undecided
Would need to calculate how many coins they had, dumped and/or lost at sharex (and older exchanges historical prices)

Got 463000 coins that I overpaid now, hodling.

@vertcoin:
The GPU miner link on the main thread is broken: https://vertcoin.org/downloads/vertminer-0.5.3.zip

Anyway, there's no further optimization being worked on the vertminer? There's no new version in months.
FYI, the x11/x13/x15 miner recently got improved again, and got even better with the recent ati 14.6 rc2 driver.
Here's hoping maybe scryptn can also be improved somehow.  Grin

Not with that driver...

I'm down for this campaign.

I'm normally very active in the forum, in new coin threads, monero stuff, trading, and mining threads.

Not gonna lie, working on this algo is making a huge dent on the whiskey fund. Cheers mate Smiley

Here's 0.5 BTC in hope the excessive Whiskey supply will keep you short of our own performance benchmark Wink

any 290 user,which catalyst giving more hash 13.12, 14.4 or 14.6?

13.12
216  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - Beat ASIC | First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address | Largest P2Pool on: June 30, 2014, 12:58:58 PM
PoS rewards are more complicated than that, a 3-5% yearly PoS rate is fine.
Read up on PPC info, it's out there.

Anyone knows moneropool.org's email?

They haven't paid a single xmr to me, been mining for a while there.

Thanks in advance.
218  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Claymore XMR/QCN/FCN/BCN GPU Miner v4.0 on: June 30, 2014, 12:27:26 PM
Yeah, I had to switch one of the elpida based rigs to x11-x13/nicehash/tmb for now :/ (4 x 280x)

i found that elpida 280x cards seem to be about 90% stable with driver 14.6 and useing 3.4 miner. leave clocks at stock.

Yeah, but super slow on both 14.6 and 13.12...I'd rather mine singularity coin or other new crap coins with that rig xD

220  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Vertcoin - Beat ASIC | First Scrypt N | First Stealth Address | Largest P2Pool on: June 30, 2014, 12:02:26 PM
yeah first i thought do not temper with the code, but now it's time to switch to X13 or X15 and make Vertcoin POS (2.0) in 1 month.

Then continue mining at the multipool, and we are going to the m00n

Pow+Pos is safer...dynamic block reward based on difficulty should help with the price. If people are interested in the coin, price will naturally rise and if it does more miners will flock, which in turn will decrease inflation with lower coin supply.

Supporters can mine or hold their coins and get an interest and also help secure the chain.
If need be the algorithm can be changed, but still maintain the same principles.

What do you guys think?
