201  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Where to sell BTC for higher markup price? on: March 28, 2021, 06:18:08 PM
Are there lot of ppl doing this as in selling btc for a higher markup price right now?

From what I remembered a few years back people outside of South Korea were trying to go in one of their exchanges because there is a 5-10% price difference they have as compared to the global market, I don't remember how the conversation went but from what I know they are having a difficult time on being verified in one of their exchanges as one of their requirements is for you to be a resident in South Korea. If you want to find a big price difference I suggest you must start looking for local exchanges from different countries that allows foreign traders to use their platform.
202  Economy / Speculation / Re: Damn, I should've bought bitcoin earlier! on: March 28, 2021, 05:34:53 PM
Hindsight will always be 20/20 some people are realizing what an opportunity they have missed when they haven't bought Bitcoin earlier. The problem here though is they are regretting that opportunity they never have taken for multiple times already meaning they aren't really taking any chance to earn from Bitcoin, this will be an endless cycle for people who will just regret and regret and nothing else until they actually buy Bitcoin and risk it. Some scenarios I see why they don't buy is because they see Bitcoin going down eventually and they are afraid that when they buy Bitcoin it is the time where it will fall down, this is something that they need to go pass too and actually learn some technical analysis so they know when is the perfect time to buy.
203  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Why is behind Celsius Network increasing the minimum loan value? on: March 28, 2021, 04:02:53 PM
From what I have remembered Celsius Network have reduced their minimum loan value twice last year. One is during the wake of the coronavirus where it dropped from 3,000$ to 1,000$ and the second one in October where it dropped from 1,000$ to 500$ both drops in the minimum loan value is for their accessibility for a wider audience, now the question is why did they increased it back up? Maybe the true reason why they just decreased the minimum loan value is to get people using their service and drop is mainly used for marketing rather than anything else now that they have gathered a lot of promotion because of their decrease in loan value then they can riskily go back to the numbers where they used to be.
204  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the official uses of bitcoin other then trading? on: March 28, 2021, 02:29:58 PM
I thought BTC was going to replace western union by now and be used by official brick and motor businesses.

For this to answer your question I think you need to focus more on the history of Bitcoin rather than focus on the price charts of Bitcoin as what I have seen in your post history. Bitcoin unlike banks or remittance centers like Western Union isn't really backed up by a company striving it to grow, Bitcoin's only support is us the holders/users/investors possessing it even if our numbers grow by the day it doesn't mean that it is headed to replace these businesses as right now Bitcoin is viewed by many people (including your) as more of an investment or asset rather as a way to pay for their daily needs, them probably holding a more liquid asset which is basically fiat currency is the preferred choice of many people in their transactions.

205  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The UFC Info and Prediction Thread on: March 28, 2021, 01:11:00 PM
I'm a bit surprised that only a few members here in the forum are talking about Ngannou vs. Miocic fight after Ngannou's dominant win against him. On my social media after the KO it was all about the buzz and how they felt sad that Miocic was definitely "bullied" in the ring all the memes about his fall will filled with comments about pity in this guy. I don't know why in the forum this fight didn't pick up any buzz maybe because Ngannou isn't really one of the popular heavyweight fighters out there even if he knocked the hell out of Overeem during his previous fight now the fans are requesting for Ngannou to face Jon Jones which I think if he win that bout he will definitely be the undisputed fighter in his weight class.
206  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2021-03-25]Ray Dalio on the possibility of banning BTC in the US on: March 28, 2021, 12:09:41 PM
Looks like Yahoo interviewed a guy who is just reaching on the idea of a US ban for Bitcoin but has failed to establish any kind of fact that the government is indeed banning cryptocurrencies. They just cited how gold was banned in the past but it doesn't mean it will be the same for Bitcoin or for any cryptocurrency in this matter. What I have only seen so far is authorities are striving more regulations and more ways on how to track crypto transactions but nothing about a blanket ban being a solution for any kind of problem here.
207  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Thinking to Create - wallettalk on: March 27, 2021, 03:47:24 PM
so after this if any user give any advice or talk or information , people can know how valuable this information by there Funds or holding time or vaule in verify address.

Since when does having more value to your wallet equal to being more knowledgeable to Bitcoin? I'm just saying you can be dumb and be an early adopter where you hoarded a bunch of BTC and still don't know shit about Bitcoin. I don't think that this kind of system where the more valuable your wallet address is the more you are treated as a "smart" person in the room, this will create some biases in your own website and as well be abused by these people with valuable wallet addresses, your forum won't simply be viewed for people who has real knowledge but who has the most influence because he is the richest.
208  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Hashflare on: March 27, 2021, 02:31:32 PM
You can try to sue them if you want too but only if you think the money you have in Bitcoin is worth the procedure. There are several entities doing this as they know that individuals who are struggling has lesser chance of getting their assets from them as long as they just ignore them. I wouldn't suggest giving a bad review as well or ruining their name as based from what I have seen companies such as this one are actively shutting down damaging reviews for them and can go as far as suing what you are doing to them.
209  Economy / Economics / Re: The Permanent Portfolio method by Harry Browne on: March 26, 2021, 05:48:14 PM
Same concept as the 70/20/10 rule on how you allocated your income for your daily needs and investments but only this one is focusing on investments. Although we should keep in mind that this "permanent portfolio" method is literally "permanent" which means the money you are putting in these are for the purposes of investments or holding the assets in long-term which for me personally I don't think applies perfectly to a volatile market such as the crypto market this was an investment strategy that was created in the 80% a time of recession and a great time for investments because most of the assets back then are undervalued.
210  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Trading on exchanges. What’s behind it? on: March 26, 2021, 04:29:13 PM
At this point I’m not even sure stock market is not in the same boat. I mean, has anyone ever been unable to buy a share for a specific company just because there isn’t any left?

This won't really happen IRL, there will always be someone willing to buy/sell at a certain price point. Just an example on how the market behaves if a group of stock holders thinks that the current trading price is undervalued all of them won't be selling at that price but something higher than the current stock price in which the buyers for the stock they are holding will be matching depending on how the market opens, that is why we have something called "gap up" on trading charts this signified a jump in value from the previous closing just because the sellers and buyers have agreed to the new price. In an asset market there will always be buyers and sellers matching orders as this is how some people make profit or is in line with their trading plan.
211  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Impact of US dollar on Bitcoin on: March 26, 2021, 03:08:27 PM
I'm still inclined to believe that it is merely coincidental rather than believing that there is a direct connection between the US dollar price and Bitcoin because if you ask me I will just say that Bitcoin was the first one to recover during the start of the pandemic even before the US have elected a new president so Bitcoin during that stage now that the US is recovering economically from that pandemic it was just timed perfectly when Bitcoin's is now consolidating on a new level. If you want to prove your point more you must show data showing that US traders are offloading their Bitcoin in exchange for USD which as far as I research I don't see any news saying that they are taking profit.
212  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Case for Ledger Nano on: March 26, 2021, 02:22:48 PM
One guy reported that he touched his ledger wallet with his hand while it was connected to his PC and it died from his own static electricity shock, screen turned off and he never managed to turned it back on.
So you don't even need to have any case for this to happen, and I am sure ledger don't have any protection against this, and it's not just ledger thing but it can happen to any electric or metal component.
Happens to me sometimes when I open my car door and I have anti-static wrist strap when working with computer components.

Sorry  but sounds like fiction story to me. For this to happen Ledger case has to have metallic parts   which are capable to transfer the  static electricity to electronic components of its board but the latter is fully protected by plastic shield of the Ledger shell. It is more likely that his ledger was damaged  by the the electric surge coming from USB port.

We may not know for sure but everything that has metal parts on it connecting to its PCB will obviously be a source for any electrical current so even the slight of touch near the input of the hardware wallet can cause the a static shock transferred to the hardware wallet, it is the same thing as your own scenario as the usb input is the one which cause the surge transfer to the hardware wallet.
213  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Case for Ledger Nano on: March 25, 2021, 06:02:25 PM
Imho this is irrelevant; at those temperatures, even if the capsule survives, you will find inside it some melted plastic/materials, not a hardware wallet you can use.
The point of capsule is waterproof storage.

This got me interested, can an aluminum case like this one be susceptible to electrical damage to the devices you put inside it? I'm not familiar how conductive aluminum is but from what I know hardware from PC can break  with just a little bit of static put into it. AFAIK hardware wallets don't have this kind of protection to electrical damage so I think its better to have non-conductive materials if you ever want to protect your hardware wallets.
214  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Tesla Bitcoin payment processor? on: March 25, 2021, 03:45:03 PM
I think that chances are that this is proprietary.

They seem to be interested in acquiring BTC on an ad hoc basis anyway so I don't see any reason for them to have to go through the trouble of going to a third party payment processor who will convert their BTCs into fiat.

If true, then this is honestly really cool and refreshing to see given the fact that most corporations who start to accept BTC do so through a processor such as Bitpay, which defies the entire purpose of BTC transactions being decentralised.

This just shows that Elon and Tesla wants Bitcoin and not fiat currency which from what I am understanding is they are the only company who accepts Bitcoin and not convert it to fiat currency automatically, this also means that they aren't only accepting Bitcoin just to widen the payment options for their products. Maybe Tesla is just showing that they are supporting Bitcoin in the long run as an investment and this is really a positive approach for them after buying Bitcoin as an investment earlier.
215  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee & Crypto Scam on: March 25, 2021, 02:11:37 PM
While people will say that it is most likely because of the drugs he takes I doubt that it is the main reason why he is doing that, I highly doubt that an addict will be smart enough to pull off the scams he made from knowingly influencing the market to his pump and dump schemes to even defrauding his own investors such acts is something an addict wouldn't really do. Maybe McAfee is one of those kinds of guys who simply have his screws loosen and became out of his mind or simply he just likes the joy of the power he has and abuse it he isn't even ashamed on admitting it.
216  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [Boxing]: Whyte vs Povetkin II on March 27, 2021 on: March 25, 2021, 01:00:52 PM
I think that Whyte will still be aggressive and look for that knock out.

But this time, he shouldn't force it, power wise, he has the advantage against Povetkin so it's just a matter of time before he caught Povetkin again. But it should be controlled aggression, just go for that knock out if it presents itself and hope that Povetkin chin this time will crack.

Whyte was really doing well on the first match against Povetkin the first 4 rounds of him in that match proves that he id ahead of him he even knock him down twice during the 4th round. The only problem during this match is Povetkin got lucky with that uppercut where it made Whyte hit that canvas. Povetkin still has that KO power and this is where Whyte needs to improve if he wants to avoid an upset like what happened during the first match he must be careful with those punches and must just choose the opportunities he will take in the early rounds as this is where Povetkin will still have a lot of stamina on the match.
217  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-23 yahoo! - BTC Transfer Worth $806M Might Reveal Institutional Purchase on: March 24, 2021, 04:31:19 PM
We should focus on this quote within the article

“The outflow was split into multiple wallets, which could be their hot wallets, representing an internal transfer or custodian wallets for institutions,” Ki Young Ju, CEO of CryptoQuant, told CoinDesk.

Let's not go over our heads that their are several institution suddenly buying Bitcoin not at least without any kind of disclosures especially if they are publicly listed on a stock exchange because there is also a big possibility that this was just an internal transfer like what the CEO of the one analyzing the transactions pointed out. 14,000 BTC being bought by some people wouldn't go unnoticed even if we are talking about a OTC trade as we would see announcements from this institutions with their investments. The article also clearly stated that this was just a "speculative guess" or what I would say just creating content for them to have visitors in their website.
218  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: looking for a partner for a PTP crypto forums on: March 24, 2021, 03:37:57 PM
I would like our forums to revolve around websites, blogs, and forums promotions along with market and crypto currency. I have found the forum software I would like to use for this project/business but ain't yet thought of a domain so any suggestions I am all eyes.

Domain names are something that holds value in itself so I wouldn't really expect anyone just giving out ideas for free, you can buy domain names that are already taken or if you don't want to buy them just look for them and be creative on what domain name you want similar to what you are eyeing.

~snip

I am not sure whether it is crucial that your forum is well ranked if you haven't quality posters there. Key-value of the forum is the user database and the quality of discussion which is there. Even if you are the first result on the search, without useful content it does not worth much.

Niche about websites, blogs, forum promotions is already quite loaded, I am not sure how much scope is free there. Especially for brand new forum/community. Plus, I think written communication is not highly attractive anymore, probably you know that visual social networks like Instagram, TikTok had in expansion. So it will be hard to grow a new "text" community.

~snip

It would be hard for him to have quality/informative posters in the forum especially if his forum has a wide niche. But if he still continues to do so I believe the key thing here is being organized with the topics/sections he have for the forum and what I mean about that is is section should have moderators that will actively handle and post in these sections until their own members will have legs on their own in terms of posting and creating topics, its similar to how new subreddits are created in which the mods the ones responsible on creating their pages alive.
219  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Ceo ng TNC . Scammas? on: March 23, 2021, 08:20:51 PM
220  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: HSBC canada not allowing to buy any crypto related instrument on: March 23, 2021, 06:48:18 PM
Very bad news coming from Canada then, they probably want everyone to only use their stupid ETF to buy bitcoin. Personally, I believe some wealthy bitcoiner should create the biggest bank in the world therefore allowing bitcoiners from all over the world to transact freely everywhere without restrictions.
A bank for bitcoiners, how awesome that would be?

You make it sound like Canada is similar to India when in fact it is not and I think you have misunderstood his post since even his crypto ETF transaction is blocked by HSBC. Canada I think is not that strict when it comes to crypto regulations and as far as I am aware of when they say they allow banks to deny crypto related transactions it is only in the means of credit related purchases but they don't block deposits from crypto exchanges as proven by several of their own crypto exchanges have bank wire withdrawal options. For me personally like what I have said earlier it is understandable why would a bank deny crypto related purchases as means of investments as there is a credit risk involve in it.
