941  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Vault query! on: January 22, 2020, 09:49:27 PM
24 hours still no response, hooe I will get response fron support team sooner. Smiley

As oer the suggestion topic has moved to exchanges section.

You might not be getting the same treatment as goinmerry had as either it might be a case to case basis or goinmerry just got lucky during his experience with Coinbase's support . Maybe you can still wait for another 24 hours before following them up with another email or if you really are desperate you can try calling their customer support hotline just make sure you give them your ticket number to help you right away. @goinmerry what exactly was your issue about? Is it similar to mersal's concern?
942  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Poll - How did you find out about Bitcointalk? on: January 22, 2020, 07:52:18 PM
This is probably one of the lamest stories you will hear but I actually found out Bitcoin in a Facebook group which I actually joined right after I found an article about Bitcoin being the new "gold". When I was a total newbie in Bitcoin and the whole crypto industry I got so curious that I joined a lot of crypto groups about trading and one day a famous cloud mining/hyip site, Hashocean, suddenly vanish and it got talked a lot in the group and then one of the members linked a thread in Bitcointalk. It was that one thread that actually made me curious about the site and made me interested because Bitcoin has an actual forum. Bitcointalk itself is considerably more better compared to the FB groups I have joined combined. It was more organized in a sense that I don't have to jump to different groups just to find topics and questions I want to find the answer from. Aside from that comparing BCT to the FB groups I have joined there is actually a conversation or a healthy debate going on which makes the forum more complete, unlike in the groups where you will see some "yes" and "nos" without any kind of explanation whatsoever.
943  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: January 22, 2020, 06:44:10 PM
A small thing but it can be a sign of the rumors in the past days.
Bernardeschi today removed his profile photos with the Juventus shirt...

The rumor was

Rakitic+25m <-> Bernardeschi.

For sure if it will be a deal done, he will do great on Spain, the need spaces and on the Liga, there are a lot where he can run.

Considering that they are top European rivals I don't think Juventus would like to swap their young star on a 31 yo that is losing his market value quickly even if you add in 25 million Euros, that money alone won't be enough to replace the talent Bernardeschi have for the team. They would be better off selling him at full price or considering other players in Barca to swap with rather than taking this current deal. And yes like I mentioned they'll just be making their rivals much stronger compared to them which I don't they will like especially if they face in the Champions League again.
944  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Have anyone come across this? Whether it is a true currency or fake one....? on: January 21, 2020, 08:59:28 PM
Just some additional notes for this topic, the number of zeroes in a fiat currency doesn't mean it has a high value, it still depends on it's equivalent fair market value based on it's demand and supply and of course the economy of that fiat currency's country. If we are only talking about Fiat currencies here then the most highest valued currencies out there are found in Middle Eastern countries. 1 Bahraini Dollar is equal to 2.65$ (USD), 1 Omani Rial is equal to 2,60$, and 1 Kuwaiti Dinar is equal to 3.29$ which are all pretty big compared to other countries' fiat currencies. The fiat currencies I have mentioned of course cannot match the value of Bitcoin currently even if you add in other cryptocurrencies found in the market you will see that Bitcoin is currently the most valuable currency out there.
945  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Coinbase Vault query! on: January 21, 2020, 07:58:13 PM
Like they said account related concerns like this one needs to have Coinbase's Support team assisting you. Unfortunately Coinbase is known to have slow customer service on issues with regards to their customers' accounts. Calling their customer hotline isn't even an option as based from what I am hearing calls are even worst compared to their email support, that "high priority" in them would mean nothing as it will take ages for them to respond. @OP maybe you can update us about your situation if it is solve already or if there will be any further delays with your email reset/recovery, I'm also curious to see how their customer support runs things with regards to problems like this one.
946  Economy / Economics / Re: Can Institutional Investors Bring in the Next Wave of Hype to the Crypto-Sphere? on: January 21, 2020, 05:54:25 PM
I don't think that "hype" is something that institutional investors would be able to bring once the majority of them are involved in the market, here's my point of view about it. Hype in the market we have is something that can't be played every time it is rolled out in the news, it gets worn out and it becomes less effective every time they recycle it in the news. One perfect example for this one is when BAKKT officially launch the market literally didn't react about it. Before that the hype for BAKKT on finally having a big company supporting Bitcoin with their Derivatives, futures trading, and custodian services it was overhyped by a lot of people especially the crypto news website that when it officially launch the price of Bitcoin neither go up or down. So imagine a news about institutional investors flocking the market officially or a more timely news about Bitcoin ETFs finally being available do you think it will create much hype as expected? I don't think so because the hype for them has or will die down before it ever happens. So if you are looking for the "next wave" to happen it won't really be because of the hype but because of the demand and money flowing in the market.
947  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: I created a website to help new users traverse the bitcoin landscape on: January 21, 2020, 04:45:09 PM
Are you a one-man team developing this website? If you are I don't think you can handle every topics your are putting in your website. Even if you say your niche is Bitcoin you are covering ablot of things from exchanges, ATMs, mining equipment, and news and I don't think one person can do it especially if you are thinking about how you will update it daily, your quality will obviously drop. Not unless you will be adding more members part of your team I don't think it will be a good idea to keep a crypto website to general like yours. I'm not saying that a one-stop shop kind of website is bad but what I'm saying is that it will be too much to handle just by one person.
948  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 20, 2020, 09:16:55 PM
~snip~

Indeed, with the current situation, AC Milan's main target is European competition, no more. they will compete with Napoli, Fiorentina and Cagliari
Believe it or not AC MIlan is currently above by 4 points against Napoli and Fiorentina they are current 11th and 13th, respectively while Milan is at the 8th spot in Serie A. I don't know what happened to both teams but it seems like only Atalanta and Roma can be consistent finishers in the top table besides Juventus and Inter Milan.

Ibrahimovic's presence seemed to bring a positive trend for this team, both in terms of performance and moral players

I cannot credit their improvement to only one man especially if he literally signed in the team last 3 weeks ago. I mean ever since Pioli is adopted the 4-4-2 after their huge loss against Atalanta they have shown tremendous improvements. It seems like their match against Atalanta was their wake up call and the good thing about that is the management are also trying to bring in some new players despite the fact that they are in negotiations of buyout with Bernard Arnault.
949  Economy / Reputation / Re: Abusing merit system and Yobit campaign. on: January 20, 2020, 07:58:52 PM
Not saying I don't agree that this is likely merit abuse. What's everyone's opinion? The top 3 guys with 44, 50, and 16 merits sent look to be extremely likely culprits of abuse, but the rest are all low senders.

Opinions here would be great.

I don't want to weigh in someone else's opinion but if we are talking about tagging people here the only justifiable tag is on their merit abuse, since we don't have enough proof that they are controlled by one person and the campaign you are handling like you said allows multiple accounts then tagging them either as bounty cheaters or alt accounts of one person would be just unreasonable doubt. At least with the evidence shown of sending enormous amount of merits, within a short time frame, and then deleting them onward shows that their is at least a merit abuse happening without digging in any deeper if they are just controlled by one person. That is just my two cents in this case and at the end of the day it is still your call if what they did is allowable in not to happen in your campaign.
950  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Accidentally sent BCH to BTC address? on: January 20, 2020, 07:04:12 PM
Unfortunately I don't see any way you can retrieve your BCH back without the help of Cash.App itself. Since like what they have said they are a custodial wallet and custodial wallets are the ones controlling your private keys, without their help of giving access your private keys you won't able to retrieve it by yourself. Aside from that your only other option is a cross-chain deposit recovery (if they have one), a lot of custodial wallets (even exchanges) have what they call cross-chain deposit recovery in their services for customers who have sent crypto on the wrong blockchain. So maybe they aren't that too familiar with your concern but may know your situation if you say this was a cross-chain transaction.
951  Economy / Speculation / Re: Backbone analogy for BTC current & future price movements on: January 20, 2020, 05:55:21 PM
Taking all this analogy and theory as a backbone to price movements at this time, the rise in price of BTC is manipulated & it will fall again over a rising support, I would say just below 8 thousand or 8 thousand. The supports are the price to consider. Anything above that is the insanity of the surface oceans, full of changes in the waves and weather.

I like to point out some arguments with your analysis in the martket, a correction to for Bitcoin around the 8,000$ level doesn't show signs of manipulation in the market. However if we have a bearish reversal from this current price down further below 8,000$ level then this would mean that Bitcoin was heavily manipulated. A 600$ drop would mean nothing to Bitcoin as it had done it in the past several times already only for us to see that it will quickly go back up to where it had dropped or even go higher which is really common when corrections happen. Aside from that the bullish reversal we have even though it's not backed up by volume shows that BTC was ware oversold last November 29 and also during that time its MACD shows signs of a bullish reversal waiting to happen that is why the price increase we are seeing now isn't brought by manipulation but is a product of a good bullish reversal.
952  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Ano ba ang Bitcoin Mixer? on: January 20, 2020, 04:23:24 PM
~snip~
Wala na tayong magagawa dyan, let them do their work, only yung malawak yung curiosity and more knowledge ang makakaintindi nyan at makakaunawa on how mixers, privacy and bitcoin works.
Mostly, negative headline ang maririnig mo sa mga local news agencies or even international media sa mga ganitong services or technology.
Kailanman never ako nakarinig ng positive feedback from local news media regarding crypto.

If only the vast majority of us has an open-mind and gaya nga ng sinabi mo curious hindi uubra yung misinformation na binibigay satin ng media, baka nga kalaunan ay tumino tino na din yung shinishare nilang news satin. They always feed on our fear pero pag nakita nila kahit FUD yung linalabas nila tas wala silang readers alam nila na mali sila dun.
953  Local / Pamilihan / Re: Ano ba ang Bitcoin Mixer? on: January 19, 2020, 09:53:24 PM

You can blame the government and media for that.
954  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Legality of crypto in games question on: January 19, 2020, 08:01:50 PM
Just to clarify you are asking if it is illegal if companies would instead use a ERC-20 token as their in-game currency? If you are then you are just complicating things for them, you see the closest thing to a cryptocurrency we have in the gaming industry is Razer Gold and it is allowable and legal since it is only a virtual credit and it's price is 1:1 to a dollar, it doesn't fluctuate like a crypto or token. A crypto or a token on the other hand that fluctuates or can be traded in an exchange would be very tricky to be made available on games since on a legal point of view they would illegally be functioning as an exchange especially when this token can also be bought and sold outside of it's interface. Not unless this token is similar to Razer Gold in a sense I don't see this being legal to be deemed as an in-game currency or virtual credit.
955  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: My personal challenge: $1,000 to $1 Million on: January 19, 2020, 06:50:16 PM
What if I had bought into Warren Buffet at the very beginning? He turned $10,000 into $50 Billion in 50 years.

Maybe you have misread some articles about Warren Buffet during his early life. If you are talking about this article he is talking about a what if situation if individuals invested in the S&P 500 last 50 years ago they'll have 51$ million (not billion) by now. If you are talking about his net worth being 50$ billion he was already a billionaire when he took over Berkshire Hathaway and even before that time he have 11 partnerships of companies so really he was in pole position of reaching 50$ billion net worth in 50 years as he is one of those boomers that had took advantage of blooming businesses. He made money not just because of solely investing and re-investing what they earned they also continuously find investors willing to ride along with them as well as buying companies to be under them. So really you might want to be realistic with your targets here even if you set it up until a decade has past since re-investing your earnings will only go so far.
956  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: January 19, 2020, 05:44:37 PM
AC Milan won and no one is talking about it? Ever since their massive lost against Atalanta (5-0) they won three of their last four games. We can consider this game as a re-introduction to Ante Rebic as he not only scored twice but he also saved the team from a draw with literally only seconds before the match ends, not to mention that he only needed 45 minutes (subbed in at the second half) to produce a fantastic performance. I'm really not that optimistic for the team especially them having an easier schedule at the start of the year but if they start to win some games against teams higher up the league table besides Cagliari I'll start believing that they can be in a European competition again as early as next season.
957  Other / Meta / Re: Proposes to enable these features for temp-ban users on: January 19, 2020, 04:29:03 PM
It's called a ban for a reason, BCT punishes you for violating a rule by removing your full access here in the forum so I really don't think they are thinking about the lost of man power with regards to reporting posts or circulating merits when they issue temp-ban on a member. Besides there is no one stopping you by bookmarking/saving the posts you want to merit or report too and going back to them once your ban has ended. Just think about the alternatives first before you even try to push a change that isn't even necessary in the first place. Also just by looking at your merit history you only have sent a total of 10 merits in a span of 120 days so I don't think losing 7 days of activity would really mean much to you.
958  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: SwabianCoin - Fake Team Using Stock/Template Pictures with NO Whitepaper on: January 19, 2020, 10:05:28 AM
Sorry guys, our plan was to take fresh and new pictures but time was low.
So we started with stock photos Cheesy
If you want to see how we look in real life check here on swabiancoin.com or on our facebook profiles

Probably one of the lamest excuse I have ever seen. If time was of the essence why spend the trouble on replacing your pics with some stock photos rather than just grabbing a pic you already have in your Facebook profile? Just think about it on our point of view, would you even believe your dumb excuse on using stock photos instead your own pictures? Clearly there is no scenario on why it would be more convenient for you using stock photos over your FB pics not unless you are trying to fool people with your fake identity.

960  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Securely Generating Bitcoin Addresses for Users on: January 18, 2020, 10:14:43 PM
Do they store those bitcoin address on their public web server? I am thinking that when you visit their website, their back-end will surely get your assigned bitcoin address from somewhere in their system, so they can check for the balance, so I am guessing bitcoin address are stored on their webserver. Will storing bitcoin address on webserver pose a security threat?

I'm not that very familiar on how crypto exchanges handle it but I know custodial wallets like Coinbase stores your private keys offline using cold storages that they claimed are stored in "security boxes and vaults" which they also claimed are distributed around the world. Also both private keys and wallets are also encrypted via AES-256 encryption before they store it in the vaults. So what is all that is left is your public address found not only in their servers but also in Bitcoin's blockchain and hackers can't really do anything on your BTC not unless they managed to get into your account.
