161  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: is localbitcoins scamming me? (SOLVED) on: April 08, 2021, 03:42:51 PM
Its a good thing that it was your VPN because in most cases most of the users who will receive a "forced holiday" status are accounts for under review with regards to fraud. Also based from what I have read in the past users who use free VPNs received this status as well and they are linking it too having the same IP address which is counted as a "suspicious activity" under them having multiple accounts using the same IP address or they are using a VPN location which the IP address is blocked for using LocalBitcoin.
162  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are we expecting a bullish trend? on: April 07, 2021, 06:32:07 PM
Why are you using a 4 hour chart when we are talking about a bullish reversal? Hourly charts and shorter are used in trading and short time frame reversals. On the other hand while you are using the daily chart it really lacks the information needed to analyze if there is a bearish reversal I don't know what MA you have used but it isn't enough to analyze anything as MA doesn't really hold up without analyzing other indicators such as the volume and MACD which works very well with MA analysis.
163  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Most favorable country for the crypto market on: April 07, 2021, 05:15:37 PM
If you are looking for some world map of countries with specific tax regulations and you want to see details for each country than check out this website to find more information.

There are main classification in Favourable and Unfavorable tax regulation, Neutral tax regulation, Implicit/Explicit bans and for grey area there are no clear regulations.

https://cryptocurrency-tax.info/

I wouldn't recommend this website nor any kind of website related to  any crypto legality map as it is highly inaccurate. At dkbit98's link you will see that Germany has a "unfavorable" classification while in real life Germany has one of the best tax exemptions out there for crypto hodlers.

For tax purposes, the classification as an object of speculation means that capital gains are completely tax-exempt after a holding period of at least one year.

Now I don't know how the exact classification system of that website works but a tax exemption for capital gains related to crypto is something not unfavorable in how I look at it. Other inaccuracies I see is still China is still viewed as being unfriendly to cryptocurrencies when in fact most of the mining hash rate is in that country and they have a big volume being contributed by their own crypto exchanges. Bottomline is I wouldn't recommend these kinds of websites/images as they aren't updated or is providing misinformation most of the time.
164  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Giving bitcoins as a gift? on: April 07, 2021, 02:11:54 PM
In my point of view it would really depend on how she will take it, what I mean about that is she a person that needs the monetary assistance your Bitcoin will give or will she be more appreciative on receiving gifts that aren't exactly money? Because when you think about it when you say a "gift" you are looking at items and not money, on the other hand if we are talking about money you will always think about it as a donation and not as a gift. At least take this into consideration first if she needs the money or not as she might like having real gifts rather than money from you.
165  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-22 yahoo! - 'Bitcoin Winter' Could Last For Years After Price Hits $300k on: April 07, 2021, 12:46:25 PM
With what he said I think we can all agree that it is possible that the next bear cycle can last in years proving that is what happened to Bitcoin after December 2017 when we have experienced 18+ months long bear season. I know a lot of you will be talking about the new wave of big companies buying in their own Bitcoin but does that make the crypto market immune to a bear season? Of course not big companies and institutional investors have been in the stock market for years now but it doesn't make the stock market immune to any bear season and that is a fact. Simple more money pouring in the market right now will just make Bitcoin's fall a big thing when these companies have locked their sights on profit taking. Lets not be negative or positive about these news but let as simply look at the facts here.
166  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: April 06, 2021, 05:59:29 PM
I would be very happy if Vazquez joined AC Milan. Because currently AC Milan needs a midfielder which I think Milan is not maximal from this line. Although there are already a few players who should be enough, but in Milan's matches it has been difficult to push the attack to scoring goal from the middle lately. And Chalhanoglu rumored will be going to Juventus, so Milan in big trouble if it happens and doesn't get Vazquez

Vazquez won't really be an upgrade compared to Bennacer, Kessie, or even Tonali if you ask me and all of these 3 players are one of the best midfielders Serie A currently has. Vazquez IMO will just be a bench warmer in Milan if ever he transferred there and I would prefer a better option if Milan would make a transfer. Milan should be focusing on what had work to them and that is signing young promising players which can help them grow signing unwanted stars is something that hasn't really worked for them in years now.
167  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Customer Acquisition Cost for a new exchange on: April 06, 2021, 04:31:22 PM
You won't really find Customer Acquisition Cost being given in any data not unless you go to those big financial companies like Bloomberg where they calculate one for you these data is something computed manually by investors/traders looking for the fundamentals and if you can find the financial statements of each company you can use this formula.

Code:
Cost of Sale + Marketing Expenses
_____________________________
Total number of Customers this Year - Total number of Customers last Year

Also don't expect to get the exact terminology you see in the screen as companies might use a different term such as advertising expense or you might even see Cost of Sale and Marketing expenses being combined into 1 line item.  Also one of the reasons why you won't see this data available for the crypto industry is that exchanges don't really release their yearly financial statements as most of them are not public companies yet.
168  Economy / Economics / Re: Are "Work Ethics" & "American Dream" a way to keep people working hard? on: April 06, 2021, 03:28:46 PM
For me it doesn't really matter on what you call it as long as you have a goal in mind and have a plan for it I think that will keep you in track on what you want. American dream and work ethic for me is something you can associate more for your motivation which you are correct when people use it to work hard for the goal they want to reach but if we are talking about mostly a corporate setting this could be different as the ones above you will always try to say the lines "if you want to go up you must work hard" is something that they will always use for the benefit of the company but not you which is truly disappointing, they will use what you want but the progress or career you are looking for will always be dependent on the company you are in.
169  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How to read whale alerts? on: April 05, 2021, 07:37:19 PM
My advice is don't follow the noise of even based your trade because of it as it can be interpreted in a lot of ways. 500 Bitcoin transferred to Coinbase can mean a lot of ways not only through selling, also I doubt whales do their major sale on a cryptocurrency exchange but most of them will most likely use OTC desk as it is more secure for them to have a matching order on the price they want. Flooding the market with their sell orders would just force them to also sell down as well. So if I were you I would not look into these kinds of information as the influence it can give is sometimes coming from who are interpreting it.
170  Economy / Reputation / Re: Bitcointalk and Reddit accounts Seller on: April 05, 2021, 03:24:35 PM
Based on his post history you will see that there was a change of posting habit. From 2018-2019 I can see that this account was used to promoted Valorem and CoinSchedule but during 2020-Present you will see that the user is now more actively posting rather than promoting as well as he have even joined a campaign meaning which just gives justification that the account has indeed have a change in ownership. Probably the account is done with the promotions he has done in the forum that is why he have sold it or someone hack it.
171  Economy / Speculation / Re: Paypal allows crypto payment for all 29mil merchants on: April 04, 2021, 09:42:31 PM
I also do not understand the optimism around this news. There is nothing fundamentally new, another derivative has been created that has a very weak relationship to trading using bitcoin. No acceptance or anything positive - on the contrary, if the "progress" of the crypto continues in this way, then in the end it will be completely controlled and managed by banks.

I personally barely use Paypal but the thing is Paypal is a mainstream payment processor and them implementing cryptocurrencies in their service from buying and selling them to directly converting them is a big step towards mass adoption. Since it is mainstream then definitely it will boost the awareness of a lot of users about what cryptocurrencies are which is for me beneficial for us. We have been all waiting for big names to step up and have cryptocurrencies part of their businesses now that they are here I don't understand why there is still negativity about it.
172  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If crypto is banned in my country on: April 04, 2021, 08:47:06 PM
@KryptoKings are you seriously considering avikz advice? You already have said that cryptocurrencies in the future will be banned in your country I don't get the reason why you are still looking for some loopholes when technically all suggestions for you besides avoiding crypto will be illegal.

If in future, crypto is completely banned in my country and holding, trading mining become illegal

Like I already said in my previous post a ban is a ban and even if you somehow created a system where your foreign relatives will be the ones holding it for your it will still be considered as your property you will just be pretending that it is a "gift" which is an excuse you will always be making everytime your relative will send your money again and again to you. If you get caught then chances are you will be penalized accordingly and your crypto will be confiscated by them.
173  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: donate with Bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 07:41:57 PM
With this news, I believed this will bring positive impact to African people who've devotedly adopt bitcoin despite of the fact on banning. Let's wait and see how this plans could result in the future, because this amount of donation was too big and I hope this will help this country recover from poverty so their people generates sustainable income through it.

Although givedirectly is known for its charity work as sending the cash directly to the ones in need I'm sorry to say that the Bitcoin Jack Dorsey donated will be converted to USD as explained in their page.

1. Bitcoin.

We now accept donations in bitcoin! You can donate bitcoin through our donate page. Bitcoins are automatically converted into USD and transferred into our US bank account. You’ll receive an auto-generated receipt from Coinbase and a separate tax receipt from us.

Although I would like to see how they will be using Bitcoin I believe that the ones in need won't have the basic knowledge on how to use nor have the convenience to convert it to useful fiat currency that is why I think them receiving straight cash is something that will be more useful and more convenient for them.
174  Bitcoin / Press / Re: 2021-03-30 TheVerge - PayPal will let US users pay with Bitcoin on: April 04, 2021, 06:46:15 PM
PayPal is becoming one of the biggest influencers for the rise of cryptocurrency and I guess this is just the beginning. With this facility prepared by PayPal, many merchants already in its payment network will surely get benefitted and individual accounts too can now be accepting the above coins just like its fiat counterparts. Let's see if this same thing can be rolled out also in other countries where PayPal has been allowed to operate.  Any good news coming from PayPal is surely received with a lot of excitement and of course some good movement especially with Bitcoin. In the next few months, other coins and tokens will surely be integrated with PayPal too. Which can be the next lucky ones?

If you have read the article provided you will see that its not only Bitcoin they are allowing to have an automatic conversion from crypto to USD but they also have included Ethereum, Litecoin, and BitcoinCash which are the most popular cryptocurrencies out there. Paypal being the "biggest" influencer out there is something that I would disagree on since they aren't really promoting cryptocurrencies or directly using it as a payment. Unlike Tesla where Elon Musk showed support by not only buying Bitcoin but also has start accepting direct Bitcoin payments for their cars the Bitcoin earned will also not be converted into fiat but will stay as is and be part of their holdings which just shows more support towards the cryptocurrency.
175  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Will crypto sportsbook replace fiat sportsbook in the future? on: April 04, 2021, 05:03:41 PM
It may have some of those advantages over tradition betting sites but if you think about the situation it might not be always like that in the feature. As soon as crypto gambling will be as popular as the other traditional ways of gambling expect that added regulations will take place as they always do, this has been what we have seen in the past where crypto exchanges, P2P exchanges, and even Bitcoin ATMs before doesn't need any KYC verification but now they have one as regulations and other laws change and adjust to where the money is always active. For Fiat sportsbook I don't think it will come to a point that they will die as they can always adjust and accept multiple types of currencies just to adjust on where the market is at.
176  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ICO/Tokens/Exchanges - Meeting regulations and knowing your customer? on: April 04, 2021, 03:39:39 PM
How legitimate is your business? I've visited your website and it lacks a lot of information regarding the identity of your company and it is hard to verify if you are legitimately running a KYC service. Basic company information must be provided as a business as sensitive as what you have is something that you need to have attention to, just to make sure that you are indeed in compliance with the law as well as assurance that you won't do anything else with the private information you will be getting from these passports.
177  Economy / Economics / Re: Russian vs foreign companies on: April 04, 2021, 02:27:09 PM
Just for everyone to be aware about versions/models of the same product. This is more prevalent to mobile phones and all you need to know is that there will always be Global and Native versions for that kind of Cellphone and this versions will vary from each country including the pre-installed apps you will have depending on what version you will get. One of the most popular examples out there is the mobile manufacturer like Xiaomi where it has a native version as well as a global version and their apps vary depending on what version you have. I believe this will be the same for Russia's requirement for the help of their own software developers. Chinese brands have done this with their phones like including Alipay, Alibaba, and WeChat in their phones as it is one of the most used services out there. I think this is what Russia is striving for in what they are doing right now.
178  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: Can I use the Blockchain to store infinity messages? on: April 04, 2021, 01:19:48 PM
But what would be the purpose of this blockchain in the first place? This would be good if you are writing educational materials but if we are talking about personal messages I don't think a permanency or even its feature of being public that can be shown to anyone is something that a person would like, that's why the messaging apps we have have its own "private mode" or ways to delete in both ways as these messages are intended to be kept personal. I remembered a while back that someone was worried that a personal message in their transaction was labelled for "child porn" and I can only imagine this kind of thing can be abuse by a lot of people to use in libel or incriminate someone just for the fun of it.
179  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: If crypto is banned in my country on: April 04, 2021, 12:47:36 PM
I believe that in your country both citizens and crypto related businesses will be given time to liquidate all of their crypto assets in order for them not to hold anything else but your own legal tender, they can't possible just rule cryptocurrencies illegal overnight and let thousands of their own citizens holding valueless cryptocurrencies in their own country. If you are asking this as some kind of "loophole" where crypto is declared illegal in your country and yet you still decide to hold it after the liquidation period the government has given you I would advice you not to do so as the ban will also apply to holding cryptocurrencies and I don't think getting in and out of the country is something that they would consider legal as you are technically still holding cryptocurrencies within your country.
180  Economy / Speculation / Re: April 14, Coinbase IPO and pump on bitcoin? on: April 03, 2021, 10:25:53 PM
Adding more details into Coinbase's upcoming IPO here is their Prospectus Document (Form S-1)

Revenue (in Thousands)
2020 - 1,141,167
2019 - 482,949

Operating Income/(Loss) (in Thousands)
2020 - 408,951
2019 - (45,783)

These are pretty good numbers for a company who will be offering their shares in the public and if you explore the prospectus more you'll find out more about the revenue breakdown of Coinbase showing that their highest revenue earning segment is from their Retail part which includes the buying and selling of cryptocurrencies within their service. Other than that they also provide that the number of "verified" users they have is 43 Million in 2020 as compared to 32 Million users in 2019. So I think its safe to confirm that there is at least 43 million actual people who are aware of cryptocurrencies on Coinbase alone. But will this IPO pump Bitcoin? I don't think so, we are just talking about a public offering of a company that is just related to the crypto industry so far I don't see any direct connection nor kind of play that will traders relate this IPO to the price of Bitcoin.
