1061  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Store of Value Question on: December 22, 2019, 05:37:44 PM
So each Bitcoin in the Eco-system today isn't equal. Some Bitcoins were used in a crime , and if they were , they can be worth less because of the transactions that have been facilitated with that specific Bitcoin. And if there was a crime that happened 20 transactions ago , and you now have that specific Bitcoin , can you be indicted for a crime that someone else has committed but you are holding the Bitcoin that is associated with it?

If this is the case , how can we consider at this point , BTC as a store of value?

Mere possession of stolen goods doesn't instantly make you a criminal as well, yes the authorities have the right to confiscate it but you as an unaware owner of a stolen Bitcoin doesn't make you a criminal as well, it doesn't even make you an accessory to the crime itself. As long as you aren't directly associate or involved with the crime you won't face a criminal charge about it.

It's like both of us holding 1KG bar of gold , but mine is worth less than yours but the market agrees to buy BTC at a certain price...

If this is the also the case , doesn't that mean that the demand for virgin Bitcoins more valuable than the other BTC out in circulation and thus , the circulating supply should be different...? How much crime has been associated with the circulating BTC in circulation? and if the "legal" Bitcoin that has been circulated are the only ones that are valuable , then how much would BTC be actually worth?

Unfortunately we don't have that kind of convenience of system lying around where we can separate "clean" Bitcoins from the "dirty" ones all we see is the amount of BTC we can send and receive. Honestly you really don't have to worry about this one especially if you don't transact to suspicious individuals trying to send or sell you BTC. For businesses however will be a different case for them as they can't really choose who will be buying from them that is why they are very conservative when it comes to accepting crypto in their services.
1062  Other / Meta / Re: Is this against the rules? Indirect referral link spamming. on: December 22, 2019, 04:43:14 PM
I'm leaning more to our 24th rule which is about illegal advertisements in posts rather than the rule about ref links since the websites gocryptowise is promoting are in his own and I wouldn't consider that as a "referral" if he owns the websites he is promoting such as gocryptomarket and he isn't promoting it for someone else.

24. Advertisements (including signatures within the post area) in posts aren't allowed unless the post is in a thread you started and is really substantial and useful.[9][e]

Visiting the links he also provided doesn't show any kind of referral links under it just the website's url itself with no additional characters hinting to a referral link.

gocryptomarket
Code:
https://gocryptomarket.com/

Beginners guide to crypto
Code:
https://gocryptowise.com/best-way-to-investing-in-cryptocurrency-guide/

So really this isn't about violating the no referral link rule since he owns the website and what he could be breaking is more about our 24th rule about illegal advertisements where he just post links to websites/articles directly affiliated to him.
1063  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 22, 2019, 03:30:08 PM
I was planning on going with an upset (Genoa to WIN), but let's be honest, it's Inter playing at home against a team sitting at the bottom of the league table, so i've included Inter ML to my saturday parlay.

Like @coinlocket$ said earlier, Inter are missing a bunch of players, this explains the odds for the ML, but still, it should be an easy game for Conte & Co.
Yeah and they managed to win 4-0 even with some players missing..

You are making big mistake if you did bet for Genoa to win , the history says that in the last 10 years genoa never managed to win at San siro , that was a good price for such a huge win , I didn't expect that 4-0.
4-0 in serie A is rare isn't it? Grin
I was expecting 2 goals difference as I have Asian handicap -1.5 for inter milan.

If you think that a 4-0 score line is rare in the Serie A league then the 5-0 defeat from AC Milan by Atalanta is something else. I turned off the stream right after Ilicic scored his second goal thinking that the game will finish in a 4-0 defeat for Milan but I was wrong it turns out that Muriel scored 11 minutes after one of their goal. I really don't have the appetite to watch Milan's games anymore, watching them play feels like they don't even want to win the game and as a fan I cannot stomach seeing them lose games especially on these kinds of score line. Elliot Management should treat this as some kind of wake up call for them to do some moves in the January transfer window before AC Milan's name be forgotten in World Football.
1064  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: December 19, 2019, 08:34:10 PM
Smiths horrible misjudgment or not realizing what the situation is. Dude is coming back to playoffs this year to make a huge deal once again like he always does at age 35!. If a team has Lebron then I will wager that they will always have a chance to beat it, he played with Della+JR+KLove+TT and was almost beating a team with Curry+Klay+Durant+Draymond so always give Lebron a chance.

You should take note that Lebron James won the NBA Finals in 2016 with an injured Cleveland Cavaliers. Most of the time their big three in the series wasn't complete with Kevin Love and Kyrie having injuries of their own Lebron still managed to win the game and got back from a 3-1 lead in the finals which surely does say that he is no ordinary star player but a very good one. With things looking out I think that Lebron has the team he wanted and he waited for at least a season for this to happen and I think he and the Lakers have a good chance of taking the championship home.
1065  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: {Beware}: List of Fake Coinbase Giveaway on: December 19, 2019, 07:43:16 PM
I was wondering why they have the same design for their fake giveaway so I got a feeling that they were all under in the same IP or at least is being controlled by the same group of people but to my surprise all of them are from different IP addresses and from different countries which are the US, Italy, United Kingdom, and Russia so maybe they are just getting the site's design on one source and someone is selling a script for it. So these are several separate individuals trying to scam us all from different countries and it is really a shame to see that the crypto industry now is getting a lot of attention from these scammers.

1066  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Italian League Prediction Thread (Serie A) on: December 19, 2019, 07:03:42 PM

Juventus won it in struggle though, they always been ... recently.

Struggle where? Have you seen the match?

Position ball was around 70% outside the home, Sampdoria did 1 shot with a double mistake from Alex Sandro who assisted their attacker 2 times.
As always fake propaganda from you vs Juventus.

Are you talking about the numbers of Goals?

This is Serie A where the last team defends better than the top 8 teams on the Liga, It is a lot harder to score on Seria A.

Do not trust me on this, just do your research before trash-talking every time.

Agreeing with coinlocket$ here sometimes even a goal is enough in the Serie A league just to secure that 3 points. Proving how hard to score a goal in Serie A games are remember that Sampdoria is in the bottom 4 of the league and they still manage to hold off Juventus at just a 1 goal lead. All the goals was scored in the first half but I wouldn't say the match was out of action during that time and both teams especially Juventus had still a lot of good chances to add another goal. Passing and movement of the ball was top notch for Juve and on that part I cannot see that they "struggle" because they just won the game with 1 goal.
1067  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: China cryptocurrency on: December 19, 2019, 08:58:56 AM
~snip~

isnt that crypto and digitalization of payments are related to each other ? they can create thier own crypto along with their process of legalizing integrating it on wechat and alipay  .

so that when they are approved by these companies , they would want their crypto to  be indorsed and to be used on those said platforms  . that sounds like a good news to me because they are still aiming to transform the old traditional way of paying into something that is digital and cashless  .

Yes they are related in some way but if you read the articles I have provided they are talking about it in a different way that when they say "digitization of payments" they are referring to what I have said WeChat Pay and Alipay at the moment. But since we are talking about digitization of payments I know that cryptocurrencies will also benefit from this since people will rely more on their phones to pay in their country. Other than that payment processors like Wechat and Alipay don't represent their own crypto but their own fiat currency which is Chinese Yuan like how Paypal has credits in USD so not all kinds of digitalized payments needs to be crypto as well.
1068  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Are American tax laws holding Bitcoin back? on: December 18, 2019, 11:51:14 PM
It is my understanding that in America, every cryptocurrency transaction has to be reported as a capital gain in the end of year taxes. That means for every trade or every cup of coffee you buy with Bitcoin, you have to report capital gains. Someone correct me if I’m wrong on this.

The trading part you got correctly but the buying part is where you are wrong. Using Bitcoin as a currency to pay won't be counted as capital gain since you really didn't “gain” anaything from using it as a payment. Basically capital gain is what you earn when your assets raised its market value where not holding it like using it to pay won't hold anything to make it raise its market value. And to answer your second question no taxes aren't holding back cryptocurrency even if the people feel discourage with the IRS enforcing crypto hodlers to pay taxes it's not the biggest factor why it is holding back crypto adoption in the country.
1069  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-18] Two more bitcoin firms shutdown over impending EU money-laundering on: December 18, 2019, 12:04:50 PM
Regulation can't stop businesses from moving in territories it doesn't apply to. It also can't stop residents where it applies to to stop using those online businesses. Online blocks are so easily circumvented. All bad regulation will do is drive businesses and revenues away... If those websites wanted to continue operations they could. perhaps they will. maybe it's a legal requirement to rebrand.

Not exactly the AMLD5 is built around the security of the EU against crimes related to countries outside of it so I wouldn't be surprised if these acted out like what the US has been doing for overseas operation just like what they did to Binance where we have seen it exit out from the US. Also the AMLD5 is said to be stricter to particular developing countries which they consider a high financial risk so maybe we can expect sites being blocked coming from this countries. And like what I have said earlier both Simplecoin and Chopcoin are given a choice to follow the new requirements and even them has not seen any loopholes for the upcoming regulation.
1070  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2019-12-18] Two more bitcoin firms shutdown over impending EU money-laundering on: December 18, 2019, 10:25:15 AM
The solution is already their for both Simplecoin and Chopcoin all they have to do is to comply with the KYC requirement and they won't be forced to shut down their services. Even their users are reported to be more than willing to undergo KYC so that they would still be running but both Simplecoin and Chopcoin are firm with their beliefs and has seen no good alternatives to continue their service just because of this new requirement which for the eyes of any user/client is a selfish thing to do. Both users and developers must widely accept that anonymity in this industry isn't viable anymore when the government started to be more concerned with the industry and we must be prepared to sacrifice it for the continuity of any project, crypto, and the whole market.
1071  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: China cryptocurrency on: December 18, 2019, 09:30:30 AM
I don't think that the Chinese government are really focused on having their state-issued cryptocurrency first as the last time I checked they were more focused on the digitization of payments, and commerce since they want to take advantage of one of their biggest business inside the country which is Wechat's Wepay and Jack Ma's Alibaba which also has a payment system which is "Alipay", of course the secondary benefits from this digitization are the crypto industry inside China which is really big. Other news supporting what I am saying is that their Central Bank is also targeting to regulate STOs in their country which looking at the big picture I think they are just paving the way for the possibility of having their own state-issued crypto in the foreseeable future.
1072  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: December 18, 2019, 08:50:24 AM
Dortmund Vs Leipzig match is really interesting to watch,  what a goal thriller game, both teams have a good record in scoring goals I'm not surprised with the scoreline either, Leipzig is becoming a renowned club in Germany league,  initially it was Bayern, Dortmund, wolfburg

Leipzig has been a top a top 3 team since last season and at least a top 6 team last 2 seasons ago and there are no surprised why they have climbed up this high in Bundesliga especially when they didn't lose any key players during the last transfer window. What RB Leipzig did was right on nurturing their own players  that is why their core is all aged under 25, Werner, Upamecano, Sabitzer, and Konate are all aged under 25 and they are one of their high valued players. They might not have the money that Bayern and Dortmund have but their tactic on developing their own is good too.
1073  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: handling bitcoin volatility on: December 17, 2019, 08:39:16 PM
Honestly for traders Bitcoin's volatility is their ideal asset to make a profit in and all you have to do is to follow the trend. Losses in the market is very preventable especially if you have set automatic orders for your entry and exit points which is very handy if your trade goes wrong, most traders I see will only just watch the prices and don't plan ahead for it that's why when a sudden price movement happens their portfolio will instantly be red since they don't have any stop losses or exit points set in place. Volatility is something not to be afraid of instead we should all take advantage of it since we always have the option of shorting it and also going long for it both of which is very manageable even if Bitcoin is very volatile.
1074  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Telegram Bitcoin Escrow Bot on: December 17, 2019, 07:31:07 PM
I wouldn't trust such service especially if it is created specifically for telegram. Telegram itself is designed for scammers to prevail since it is built on anonymity that kind of service combined with telegram's anonymity simply makes it more untrustworthy. Aside from that are you really willing to trust your money for escrow on a bot rather than a real middleman? How about if something comes up with the deal do you think the bot will respond more smoothly compared to a trusted escrow service? I don't think so there are still limits on what a bot can do compared to a human being who is used too giving that service. I know that finding the right escrow service is hard but I think once you get to know an escrow service well here in BCT then I don't think you will have any problems with your future trades here.
1075  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price- If Tether (USDT) go down, will it be good for Bitcoin? on: December 17, 2019, 06:42:11 PM
As long as Bitcoin is not directly affected by the decision I don't see it being pulled down together with Tether since it is just an altcoin and has barely anything to do with Bitcoin's own demand and supply.

Tether isn't just an altcoin. People use it as a substitute for USD in the BTC markets and it has significant fiat inflows and outflows. People buy and sell BTC for it, so of course it affects BTC's supply and demand.

USDT (or USDT-linked) markets like Binance, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Poloniex, Okex, Huobi, etc. provide huge amounts of liquidity to the market so I would say Tether has a significant effect on price discovery.

I still don't see a direct relation to it being a crypto just to buy other cryptocurrencies which in turn can affect the price of Bitcoin directly. Using the same line of thinking if Tether is considered as a "substitute" for USD and it shut down then how can it directly affect the price of Bitcoin negatively when Tether itself cannot be used in the market? Yes if they have given them time to liquidate their Tether then we might even see other cryptocurrencies benefit from it since we will see Tether's market share go to other cryptocurrencies which I think the biggest beneficiary for it will be Bitcoin. Tether and any other stable coins just acts as a safe haven and a tool for them to transfer their money back to another crypto so there is really no way it has a direct affect on Bitcoin negatively.
1076  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price- If Tether (USDT) go down, will it be good for Bitcoin? on: December 16, 2019, 08:39:37 PM
Now the question is, if Tether ever go down Will it affect the price of Bitcoin and the whole crypto ecosystem?

I think that the best way to answer your question is for you to answer this question. Is Tether the market leader in the crypto market at present? We all know that the market leader is the one that influences the prices and the ones below it technically has minor to no influence whatsoever with the one leading the market. As long as Bitcoin is not directly affected by the decision I don't see it being pulled down together with Tether since it is just an altcoin and has barely anything to do with Bitcoin's own demand and supply.
1077  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2020 NBA Season on: December 16, 2019, 07:43:19 PM
Everybody knew Dallas would be better thanks to Doncic and KP because lets face it they couldn't get any worse anyway so last year they got a bit better but this year with KP coming back we expected them to be much better, however nobody expected them to be 3rd in west so far, maybe at early days thanks to good schedule and all but now we are over 25 games into season and they are still third, with Doncic missing they might drop a few but playoffs are basically guaranteed for them.

Luka Doncic's injury isn't that serious and from the latest news I have seen he will be ready to get back on court after Christmas which is only 4 games. About Dallas being the 3rd seed this early on the season I don't see no surprised their especially when you think about the whole NBA having a major rebalancing when it comes to superstars going to other teams basically you won't see a big three anymore but all teams are now built with dynamic duos where a team like Dallas have a good chance of winning on most of their games especially when they have Doncic averaging almost a triple-double per game.
1078  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: I just feel sorry for Simplecoin users on: December 16, 2019, 06:43:14 PM
That's the sad thing about a project even if the law is intervening them they still aren't willing to adjust for it. I know they have these philosophies to stand by with but I think any holders of their crypto are prepared to sacrifice anonymity just for the sake of the project's longevity instead of purely shutting it down just like a project that failed to come up with their promises. If they still want for this project to survive and their investors to be happy they still have the chance to change their views about KYC which in my perspective isn't too big of an ask. Especially when you think about it realistically now that if you want your project to be running smoothly then you should also prepare for it to be legally compliant.
1079  Local / Pilipinas / Re: A bitcoin country with fixed prices. (For fun) on: December 16, 2019, 05:54:03 PM
What's the point on creating a fixed priced for Bitcoin in the daily living of Filipinos when ang mismong Bitcoin nga ay hindi fixed price?
1080  Economy / Reputation / Re: P2PB2B SCAMMERS - resolving "scam alerts" and misunderstandings on: December 16, 2019, 04:15:35 PM
From what I have seen in the past scammers don't really stop not until everyone on their group is behind bars. The exchange P2PB2B as a name might stop but I'm guessing that their scam will run in another name and I'm really sure of that. So don't be surprised if a similar exchange will pop out here with an ANN Thread that has similar offerings as P2PB2B, It will be just our instincts to know who they are.
