I'm interested. I have some writing samples and such, course they're all fictional... Where should I send them?

The site has not been working for me recently. It's failing to connect to blockchain and gox. Is it just me, or is anyone else having this problem?
it's been taking longer then it used to yea, but it usually eventually connects.

So how light is that hat?
haven't got anything remotely accurate to weigh it with un fortunately, but in my opinion it's no heavier then a comparable leather hat. ...not that i have one around to compare...

regarding one or many: i think the logical thing would be one figurehead, one spokesperson, who does all the outward communication on forums and mailing lists. only way to keep it consistent. but determining how many may have worked together behind that figurehead? yea. good luck.
i would love to see it revealed someday though, when it's not a risk to their safety. like as a biography or something. gotta be a fascinating story.

ouuuch! Thought the autoclave was the expensive bit and wasn't needed for lower strength items, the 300 is for the fiber and resin?
75 or so a yard for the carbon used, and it's four layers, so yea. and didn't use an autoclave or any heat. class shop lacks them. an epoxy resin, and a vacuum bag for pressure, though.
yea, carbon fiber's amazing stuff, but the cost is painful. materials for this hat alone are probably over 300 or so.
so the last few months i've been taking a class on composites - fiberglass, carbon fiber, that sort of thing - to make a career change. last night i finished my final project, thought i'd share it with you guys. i made a bowler (aka derby) hat out of carbon fiber. screw you tinfoil!

That's why i'm switching to litecoin for now. I don't feel comfortable relying on these custom hardware operations. Way too much scamming and delays even after a product exists. Hopefully litecoin can stay in the GPU realm. I trust AMD way more than the rest. I'm positioned well with a 7970 anyways.
How cool is this: Solar-powered 7970 rigs? Fantasy? Can they beat ASICs? no. because you could solar power asic's A LOT easier. less power needed means less investment in solar hardware, which means less over all capital, thus higher profit. power is everything.

Functionally they are the same, but my way is +1 XP for privacy, cause i don't have to fix my IP to the origination of the tx to buy or sell. I tell gox to go send the order to market on my behalf, and when he squawks it i just relay it to all the miners i know.
What if the broker refuses? why would he? he's being paid to do that for you. you deposit your fiat with him, then say "submit order!" and he, of course, takes a fee for holding your fiat, while the fee for submitting the order goes to pay the miners described above. thus, if he refuses, he goes out of business.

Maybe the problem it that there is one implementation (bitcoind / bitcoin-qt) that decides what is right and what is not for the majority of the network. Bitcoin relies on a state when the vast majority of the network agree on the rules. That may not be the case when a single bug affects a large portion of the network. Under these conditions the whole proof of work mechanism becomes unreliable.
If we had a variety of implementations, a bug in one of them would have much smaller impact. Only users of the buggy client would be required to upgrade. We would not have to take the generally wrong way of downgrading to a buggy version.
this is why the discussion of a "bitcoin spec" is ongoing and of worth. check the dev sub forum.

Wanna update BFL's numbers too? Latest is ~170MH/J. yea, when they ship...
it depends on the final pricing, but i'd be happy to get some. more hash the better, after all. my finances don't allow for a lot of spending money right now though. (new job pending!)

looking like we hit bottom at 50.01 on gox. rebound is holding steady with exponential average at 57 ish.
ya know, i didn't even notice the potential time difference when i imported that uploaded data. though, with the downtime gox has had this last week, is it really any wonder?

As I see it - they (ASICMINER) should auction some 10-20 pieces of 21GH/s boards (packaged of course). And then calculate price of 300MH/s mini miner and just sell them.
加一 (+1) sounds good to me. i can't see auctioning the little guys as single units as feasible. man... they're gonna have us pounding their doors down for these things. they'll be able to sell thousands.
