As many of you know we where the first brick and mortar business to accept DRK. I'm looking for a catchy phrase to post up on our winery website that is about to roll out about Dark...I'll donate some drk or some fine wine to the winner.
Our winery is Misconduct Wine Co. and it should be something smart IE: "At Misconduct...we believe what you do is your business...thats why we believe in privacy and promote DarkCoin" as an example...
We produce super premium wines, some in $100+ range so what we want for a phrase needs to appeal to that demographic.
thoughts?
Richard

Whoa...anonymousxx1503... I think that is an excessively harsh and uncalled for rebuttal of Tao's thinking. The Bitcoinrush guy is clearly not everyone's cup of tea but I actually thought the video was pretty good and I appreciate the time and effort the many people involved put into it.
Fortunately you're not the "CEO" as you would have unjustly removed a very hard working member of this team (and demonstrated a fear based culture common to the corporate world that's the very essence of what we're all here trying to move beyond). Tao might not be the world's most sophisticated marketing person but he's put a lot of content out there and brought many new people along to be interested in Darkcoin. His Twitter work and his dedication is admirable; all done off his own bat.
Perhaps you might reconsider your words. It's an open source volunteer community. That means there are going to be many viewpoints on what's appropriate, what's good, what's bad, what we should do and what we shouldn't. Tao's key point on the anniversary/birthday video is that it's created much conversation and much discussion. Yes, there probably will be people that will be turned off and there'll be others that will think it's great (like the many supportive comments in this thread after it first aired). Most product/service/entities make things in their early days which end up having some cringe factor later on; but that's what's so appealing about being involved in the very beginnings of something amazing like Darkcoin.
AMEN Seriously, keep it up Tao. And for those that don't like lightweight marketing like Bitcoin Rush (he does consider himself comedy, BTW) I completely agree we do indeed need to put up something straight and serious. However, I do think that the Bitcoin Rush episode gave DRK a huge boost. Also, BR updated the video after 2000+ views, then received 1300 more views plus those views on Darkcoin network, nearly 4000 views all together. That's a LOT. So lets stop fighting over the darkcoin episode. It does talk to some people, I very much like it, but I was part of putting it together. Instead, lets work on more videos. The more videos, the more types of videos, the better for Darkcoin. +1 Thank you both for your support. I will continue doing what I'm doing, and encourage others to do the same. Spread the word about DRK in whatever way you are comfortable with. I also think more videos are a good idea. I will contribute to this cause. BTW, since our little debate here yesterday, I gained 100 followers! I guess controversy brings interest... Cheers, Tao

It did get stuck on 5 confrmation for about a minute. It was my first instantX and i saw the green circle right after i sent it but then i saw it said confirming 5 of 6. About a minute later it turned to a confirmed green check mark.
I still say instantX is too expensive for small amounts. For a $3 transaction it cost 30 cents. Is there some reason that transactions under 100DRK (or even 50DRK) can't be exempt and just pay a regular 0.01 or 0.001 transaction fee? Somebody tried to explain it to me already but i still don't understand.
Yes because masternodes confirms 5 out of 6, the last one is a POW block confirmation. I do think that sending 1-10drk a fee 0,1drk for IX is too HIGH. There should be some "if then" code fee implemented. Ok cool, so it did get confirmed instantly like it's supposed to, right? Edit: Minotaur26 just answered my question, thanks If possible i would like to see the fee lowered to 0.01 (3 cents) for anything under 100DRK. Only reason i can see for not doing it would be that it could cause some kind of spam attack. The IX Fee is 0.01, which is 3 cents. Darksend has a 0.01-0.1 DRK fee depending on the amount you're sending (because it doesn't support change). So if you use IX+DS it appears much more expensive, but it's really just DS that's more expensive. Ok thanks, I remember now someone saying that before. If we could get a 0.01 cap on darksend that would be great. So 6 cents total for a instantX + darksend transaction. This is not possible, due to the solution of the problem brought up here. With these slightly higher fees, come much greater privacy.

I just want to say something I have been meaning to say for a while on this subject. Attracting large investors is a huge accomplishment not a problem. It means there is a lot of confidence in Darkcoin's future as a project and on its development team. Exiting large positions is not easy. In my case I have no where near as much as some of the large investors we have and I already know I can't exit in a short period of time without shooting myself in the foot and destroying the value of my investment. So the future of my investment is tied to the success of the project, that is why I abandoned trading completely and decided to work with the dev team. So entering and acquiring a large position in DRK shows commitment to the project, as the interest of the large holders are aligned with those of the coin. We see news everyday about companies securing VC capital and we all think is great, not long ago Coinbase raised 75 Million just for their web wallet, exchange etc. When venture capitalist invest they get shares of the company and have voting rights in the boards decisions. In the case of Darkcoin the large investor does get the coins but they don't get any special decision power from their investment, this in my opinion is way superior than a company getting capital because they are limited by the VC voting rights. So this notion about buy walls being a problem is bullsh*t, they express real intention of buying at whatever price they are set, they are a real part of the market and an accomplishment of the project and dev team that have been able to generate the level of trust that merits such investments. To any other large investors out there, please consider investing in Darkcoin. Yep. That was definitely worth a bump!

Guys!!
I think it would be brilliant to do a quick flip around DotCom's twitter in a nice non-provocative way. I'm sure he'd LOVE it!
Something like "Darkcoin supports Mega & #KimDotCom"
or better still,
"Lets give #KimDotCom a BOOST ; )"
I totally agree GhostPlayer! I will work on that straight away! EDIT: Done! Please RT if you're able!https://twitter.com/taoofsatoshi/status/571607554041782273Tao Following you now and retweeted it as well Big Love from Eyeboot.com Thank you so much for your support. The Darkcoin Twitter PR Initiative is really rolling now, and it's great to have you aboard. Followed you back, welcome to the Dark!

Tao, is there any way to see if Kim actually reads that tweet?
I don't think so. Twitter has analytics, but it just shows the number of views, not who individually saw it. There may be third party services that do individuals, I don't know.

PSA These new walls at 0.012 are because I wouldn't mind accumulating a few more DRK at this price right now, I don't guarantee that they will stay here if and when I decide that I have been sold enough coins for the time being, but if I do move them back down then they will only revert to 0.01111 at the lowest and from there they will neither be lowered nor removed just as stated before, so that still remains the floor, the walls are just doing a little walkabout. They'll be there for at least eight hours anyway as I'm going afk soon, so feel free to sell in to them anyone who would like to do a little profit taking or what ever and I'll check back tomorrow to review the situation. I hope you do get some more Masternodes, OTOH! Thanks for all you are doing for the project.

I realize it's an open source, community driven project and I give a lot of value to the amount of energy invested by everyone. But being decentralized in the marketing efforts makes going against the wishes of the community that much worse. By insisting on using a video (which evidently did take time and effort to create but produced a less desirable result due to the host) when people have expressed negativity about it time and time again, he goes against the wishes of the community. To me it's the equivalent of him mining his own fork instead of putting hashpower towards the main blockchain. The CEO/firing thing was a bit badly worded, someone who works that hard for my "company" (Darkcoin in this case) would be welcomed but I wouldn't put an engineer in charge of marketing. I'd rather move him to a position where his potential and energy can be fully exploited for the benefit of everyone. I get his enthusiasm about Darkcoin because I feel it too and I can see that he's driven by it but it seems also blinded by it. You can have a better product than a competitor but it's not gonna do you much good if you can't show people in an effective way. And it's not like I have it out for Tao in particular or anything, it's just a general disdain for bad marketing efforts. It's as if a friend was trying to set you up on a date with a hot girl by showing her your worst pictures. I even recently made a new twitter logo for him and tweaked it so that he would enjoy the final product more. (He didn't pick my favorite then either but I'm not gonna hold that against him) Maybe you didn't read my posts. I said that there are some that hate it, and some that like it. But everyone has an opinion. The funny part about all this to me, is that I have people slamming my efforts, saying I don't know how to be a marketer, when outside of this forum box, I have done nothing but bring new people into Darkcoin. The Twitter Initiative grows and grows, people love the message. When someone gets into the Dark, they are joining the community. I've talked to countless people, I'm not failing. There's no need to slam my efforts. If I was failing, I could see it.

One very very cool website I used to use in the past (before DRK) is www.preev.com Anyone know how to get in contact with them to include DRK? Tungfa? This is a cool site. I'll see what I can do, as well.

@TaoofSatoshi, Great, understood. I get that these are tools you use to run the campaigns. Like Alex-ru said we should focus on creating more material so we have more to choose from. I will try to contribute by coordinating a new animated introductory video for Darkcoin, in the hopes that you will add it to your tool box and we can have another option for our online marketing efforts. I had this idea before, I just didn't want to cover all the costs of the video on my own. A few people have already offered to help so I am confident enough to move forward with this. I will get a quote from www.myevideo.com and post it here and on DCT next week. I think the time is right because InstantX is out and we can include it in the video. This is a fantastic idea. As I said before, I would love to contribute to a coordinated effort to get this done. More promotional material is always a good thing. Thank you for understanding this poor Chameleon. He was starting to feel like a lone wolf...

Great, Thanks!
On a serious note, Minotaur, I won't tell you how to run the Darkcoin Ambassador Group, which I'm sure will be a huge sucess, and I would ask you not to tell me how to run the Darkcoin Twitter PR Initiative, which is and will continue to be a huge success. I will use Bitcoin Rush if I want to. We have a deal? To the contrary, I would expect for you and everyone else to provide constructive criticism to help the ambassadors do the best job possible. We are all community members and volunteers, I don't "run" the Ambassador Group, I did organize the launch of the group and hope that with the quality of the volunteers we have, everyone can contribute to spreading the word about Darkcoin directly to people outside of the forums. Fernando is helping a lot these days organizing the pending tasks. I really don't understand why you are speaking to me directly about this, it is clear that the overwhelming majority of the community feels the Bitcoin Rush video is not our best presentation card. The humble and wise thing to do, would be to recognize that's how people feel and maybe take into consideration the opinion of the community you are looking to represent. When you are working on a community project like Darkcoin, you are by definition representing others and should expect to receive feedback and correct when necessary. As an example, Evan does this very well. My feedback was offered in good faith, in my quality of community member, looking to help you in your efforts and I will continue to offer it in the future in that same way. Fair enough. You have eloquently described your position, and I of course will help the DAG in any way I can. What I'm trying to convey to you guys is that some posters in a message board may not accurately convey what the Darkcoin community at large is thinking. The DMs that I get on Twitter ask me for more information because of this video, (don't judge one place for number of views, this video is now hosted all over the net). They comment that Rush is rather flamboyant, and I joke that he is an acquired taste. Then they say that Evan did a great job in the video, and ask for more information, which I happily provide. Don't make the mistake of thinking that a few people's opinions trump the hundreds I've talked to on Twitter to get them investing in Darkcoin. I literally do it every day in my free time. How can something that generates this much buzz and interest in Darkcoin be hidden from view? Try to understand this before you dismiss based on style.

Hahaha! #GetIntoTheDark. Great work! Could you guys tweet @btc38com about adding a DRK/CNY pair. Something like: "@btc38com You should add a DRK/CNY pair, huge interest on DRK coming from China you should take the opportunity." I would do it myself, but I am not on Twitter, and please no Bitcoin Rush on this one, please. I will do it later, I want my current tweet to showcase for the rest of the afternoon, then I will tweet in time for them to see it in China. Great, Thanks!
