2021  Economy / Exchanges / FTX comedy and might be another exchange that bites the dust? on: November 04, 2022, 06:43:26 AM
I was very bullish on FTX and Sam Bankman-Fried and have also predicted that it might kill Binance and become the king of centralized exchanges. However, it appears I have another prediction wrong hehehe. This review by Coindesk on a private document says that much of FTX's equity is on their exchange token FTT and much of Alameda Research's equity is on illiquid tokens that they created and issued in Solana. The tokens are MAPS, OXY, SRM and FIDA.

They cannot sell them without dumping the market lower. Would it be correct for me to speculate that FTX might be insolvent or is this review on a private document which we are uncertain where it came from just another fud from Coindesk?

Billionaire Sam Bankman-Fried’s cryptocurrency empire is officially broken into two main parts: FTX (his exchange) and Alameda Research (his trading firm), both giants in their respective industries.

But even though they are two separate businesses, the division breaks down in a key place: on Alameda’s balance sheet, according to a private financial document reviewed by CoinDesk. (It is conceivable the document represents just part of Alameda.)

That balance sheet is full of FTX – specifically, the FTT token issued by the exchange that grants holders a discount on trading fees on its marketplace. While there is nothing per se untoward or wrong about that, it shows Bankman-Fried’s trading giant Alameda rests on a foundation largely made up of a coin that a sister company invented, not an independent asset like a fiat currency or another crypto. The situation adds to evidence that the ties between FTX and Alameda are unusually close.

2022  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-11-01] Grocery retailer Pick n Pay start accepting cryptocurrency payments on: November 04, 2022, 05:25:35 AM
I thought it was time to post some positive news, because most news posted here are bad news.  Roll Eyes

I was beginning to reply something that might appear antagonistic, however, it might be better to leave at as good news without creating any arguments and giving it more realistic views. Let us wish and hope that many people will start using their bitcoins to shop for their needs in Pick n Pay hehe.

2023  Other / Archival / Re: Why has bitcoin adoption failed in El Salvador? on: November 04, 2022, 04:59:06 AM
We cannot tell everyone that El Salvador has failed yet in their plans for bitcoin's adoption in their country. However, what we are witnessing is that it is very difficult to adopt as a medium of exchange because of volatility.

I am aware that it is arguable. But Bukele's excuse of not losing $50 million because he did not sell is a funny one because it appears he did with where the market price presently is. This is also the same excuse we say when we hold an asset below the purchase price. He has become one of us heheheheh.

Bukele's government has been buying Bitcoin regardless of its price in Fiat terms. Not a single coin has been sold so far, so El Salvador hasn't lost anything yet. I'd say this is a good strategy, because it could make the Latin-American country one of the richest (if not the richest) ones in the world after the crypto market turns bullish again. Bitcoin has been shown to reach a new All-time-high in price after every halving event, so it's likely the same will happen by 2024.

If Bitcoin becomes a huge success in El Salvador, then other countries won't think twice by making Bitcoin legal tender. Who knows if there's a very bright future ahead for long-time Bitcoin "hodlers" like us? Just my thoughts Grin

My reply was supossed to be a joke if anyone did not get it. I was only laughing at Bukele's reasoning on why he did not lose money because it is very much a similar reaction to those retail investors who are losing money in their investments when the market is dumping hehehehe.
Again, your supposed "joke" is not funny because you are striving to make Bukele, El Salvador and/or any other investor appear as if they are dumb when they are down in their investment - as if they should have known in advance what you happen to have found out in retrospect when the BTC price ended up going down.

It appears you never got the joke. It is very funny because this is the common reason that newbies and those investors who hold assets that are losing value always say. This also includes me and seeing that a president of a country is also saying the same excuses is, I reckon, very funny.

I do not disrespect Bukele. He also has arguments that I much agree with. The argument similar to this interview.

2025  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: November 03, 2022, 05:45:37 AM
It appears my argument has been misunderstood. Let me change my statement to the potential that any person can facilitate something to steal electricity and use this to mine a proof of work cryptocoin is good for the coin's network security and decentralization. This causes their laws to be unenforceable inside their own jurisdictions and without depending on more friendlier politicians.
2026  Economy / Gambling discussion / 2023 Oscar Awards betting and discussions on: November 03, 2022, 05:23:46 AM
The season for awarding the best movies, directors, actors and actresses are beginning and the most valuable and most famous of all of these awards is the Oscar awards.

The early odds have started to be offered by the oddsmakers, however, the announcement for which movies and people will be included in the different categories for nominations will be on January 24, 2023. The night of the awarding will be on March 12, 2023.

I will presently list only the top 5 from each category because the list is very long before the nominations announcement.

Brendan Fraser is the favorite over everyone for best actor? I am shocked hehehe.

In any case, I will share the latest news updates if I see them.

@suchmoon. Do not give him Goedert hehhehehe.

LOL, I think he's more worried about you than me. Wink

However, I am most worried about you for week 9 because I do not have McCaffrey and if you get Goedert, I lose hehehe.

Meh, I may just run without a TE.

You should check and consider again hehe. The projections for week 9 has increased for my team and for your team, it has a small projection dump.

@ChiBitCTy. You made a good choice in getting Nyheim Hines from the waiver wire! I also tried to get him after seeing that he was traded to the Bills. He might be more favored to get more touches?

Hey! This morning we made some improvements (which can be seen visually).

Whoever will be the first to say what kind of improvements these are will receive 25 dollars in Bitcoins to their game account!  Tongue

I am not quite certain what the changes were or if this is new, however, I noticed the screen color of the game changes to orange sunset and purple sky with some orange if you lose and it changes to a green sunset and green blue sky. I also noticed that if you did not upload a profile picture, there is a rainbow graphic which I know I never noticed before.

Dear friends, we are pleased to see that the latest updates have left you satisfied. The Neodice team thank you for reviews. We are getting better because of you.

Best wishes, Neodice team.Wink

The updates are good and it is a very good idea that you have gamified your faucet, I reckon. This makes your users come back to play more hehe.

Also, if you are interested and with your good graphics designer, it might be a positive development for the site to have another type of faucet for NFTs. They might make good collectibles and NFTs can also help you in marketing and create brand loyalty.

In any case, there are some important trades that have occured before the deadline that might affect your fantasy teams. Chase Claypool to the Bears and Jeff Wilson to the Dolphins. Hockenson was also traded to the Vikings. I am not quite sure if this is good for my fantasy team because they have Justin Jefferson who gets much of the targets.
2032  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Another Exchange Bites The Dust - Localcryptos Announces Closure. on: November 02, 2022, 03:37:42 AM
There is already a discussion about this here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5418010.0. The general feeling there is that it is likely regulatory pressures which have forced them to close.

However, in reality it might really be Localcryptos could not compete against those exchanges mentioned that created their own peer to peer marketplaces. For the owners, it might be what would be the reason to continue the service, if they know they will be bankrupt within 2 years? It might be better to close the business and get something than to keep going until they are in debt.

2033  Bitcoin / Press / Re: [2022-10-19] Europe to ban crypto mining this winter on: November 02, 2022, 02:52:50 AM
Government created problems, government created solutions.

If the free market could just do it's thing for energy, it would all get sorted. If the free market could determine who is willing to pay what for electricity, it would be allocated most efficiently this way.

Such an insane concept in today's world.

Agreed. In America, the problem caused by their government is they limited the drilling of oil and production of fossil fuel based sources of fuel. If the government was serious about solving this problem they should lift the limit and allow their oil producers to drill more. There are some articles that mentioned that the oil reserves of America is decreasing and more reduction might force them to ration fuel.

@cr1776. They can ban but they cannot enforce the ban. Miners can steal electricity and mine illegally. This will be very good for the decentralization and security of bitcoin.
2034  Economy / Gambling / Re: Neodice.com | Futuristic Dice Platform 🎲🌌 on: November 01, 2022, 03:28:14 AM
The changes are happening much faster than expected, now the interval with the receipt of Satoshi in the faucet looks much more attractive and is 9 hours, and this is much in order to use it more often.

I would like to inform you that from now on all bonus funds are credited automatically to the main account. In addition, we have improved the mechanics of Bitcoin faucets! Now you can earn free Bitcoins every hour, (we have increased payouts so now the hourly bonuses are equivalent to $0.002).

Looking forward to your feedback!

I love the inspiration of the graphics for the faucets. As a couch potato, movie lover the pyramid reminds me of the movie Star Gate, the Monolith is 2001 Space Odyssey. A very classic scifi movie. However, the last graphic I am not sure but reminds me of those statues in another very old movie called the Never Ending Story or from the newer movie called Prometheus hehehe.

In any case, it is very smart of the Neodice founders to think about setting up a faucet. It is very rare to see after 2018 bear market. Faucets are still very good ways for newbies to be introduced in bitcoin and to receive their first bitcoins.
2035  Economy / Speculation / Re: Countertrading Jim Cramer on Bitcoin on: November 01, 2022, 02:53:23 AM
I am very much beginning to get confused on Jim Cramer. In my last news update, he was very bullish and he was telling everyone that he was optimistic on markets going in to November. In this latest statement he is telling everyone to sell. Going to the Inverse Cramer speculation, this implies that the market will pump hehehe.

‘Hold your nose and sell’ to brace for a possible market downturn, Jim Cramer says

@Hueristic. Hehehe the projection does not tell me that my week 9 will be a chump match. You will be +5 points or more ahead when you get your replacement for Kittle. I got lucky vs. the Mooncoiners already. I am quite certain that I will not get this lucky again.

Also yes, I stopped watching when it went 0-18 and Amari with only 4 fantasy points.

@suchmoon. Do not give him Goedert hehhehehe.

~

King Henry delivered today for sure...

So did CMC, they have him throwing the ball now Huh (not watching the game just saw the scoring details). Enough of this basketball shit, what happened to running backs RUNNING LOL

I saw the highlights. It was a very beautiful throw to Brandon Aiyuk for the touchdown.

https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=6KhCmRYS8E4

I am very lucky for picking him instead if Jonathan Taylor.

I have a couple of players that I can trade if anyone's interested:

Dallas Goedert - top ~5 tight end I think
Kirk Cousins - might be a decent backup QB for a bye week, did well for me

I'm looking for WRs and/or RBs that are better than what I have... not a particularly high bar so hit me up. Not sure how trades work on Yahoo, I guess you can make an offer through there somehow.

I would like to trade Tyler Lockett for Dallas Goedert but can you wait after week 9? I will be lacking on starters for week 9 and I will need Lockett once before trading him with someone or in the waiver wire.

I can trade Amari Cooper or Brandon Aiyuk , only after week 11. Week 11 will be the other difficult week for me.

2040  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Jake Paul VS Anderson Silva October 29th on: October 31, 2022, 04:36:13 AM
No surprise here, Jake Paul won like I said he will, but I expected fight won't go to distance with decision win.
I think he is going to call out some new MMA fighter for his next fight, maybe Nate Diaz or someone else.
Jake called out Dana White again and said he can suck his d*ck  Grin but it's best to listen his full post fight interview:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEJU7E8rJsk

What was Anderson doing there in the press conference with Jake Paul? It was very awkward to watch because no one wanted to ask him questions and he was only drinking his water because he became concious that he should not be there. Was Anderson supposed to make Jake not insult Dana? But he was only smiling when someone asked Jake about uncle Dana. It was very clearly embarassing for him.
