2041  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I was not wrong to bought bitcoin. on: May 05, 2021, 11:55:46 PM
Nope. You see, you weren't wrong? I hope you are still holding or at least sold it at the new ATH. It was right of you to buy bitcoins and keep holding.  Looking at the current price, I hope you are now convinced that you haven't made any mistake at all. You have already sold your coins, then buy more. It is never too late. Keep holding and wait for a new ATH or the price to reach your target.
That's true, some people seems like they forget that bitcoin is volatility or some thinks that bitcoin will continue forgoing strong so they are confident about buying bitcoin even the price is still high, well there is no problem with that especially if you ate going to invest in a long term but if you are not a long term holders then do no be so confident buying bitcoin as its current value because bitcoin may still go down anytime.
Take advantage of the volatility then? But doesn't matter if the price is volatile. In the long term, you are bound to get profit. If you buy now and the price drops, as long as you don't sell, you haven't made any loss. You still have the same amount of coins that you had before. Don't forget that.
2042  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Trillion dollar DOGE on: May 05, 2021, 05:00:32 PM
None of us thought Dogecoin could get where it is.
Looking at it now, I think they could push this anywhere.
This rise does look really absurd. No real reason why it's rising. Just people pumping it and investing with the hope of making some quick profit. Might last maybe for another week or so, and then is going to end really bad. Those who will enter late is going to regret.
$10 - $15 even
Trillion dollar marketcap?  Sure, why not.
Lol, you are being too optimistic. I doubt doge will go to $10 or $15. Maybe it will hit $1 a doge, and then everyone is going to sell. Doge will go back to what it was previously. Few months or years later, the pump will start again and it will keep on going on.
2043  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Yahoo Hates BTC: "Forget Bitcoin: Here are The Crypto Assets To Follow" on: May 05, 2021, 03:48:07 PM
Ugly move from Yahoo: "Bitcoin is to the crypto market what Netscape was to search engines in the early days of the Internet. There’s a need for a better solution, and the market is responding."

https://finance.yahoo.com/news/forget-bitcoin-crypto-assets-154341517.html

I think we're gonna see a huge BTC rise in the coming months, it's the calm before the storm. HODL!

Articles having titles like this is the only way for them to attract reader/users to their site. Click bait in other words. You see, as soon as people see something negative, they tend to click it. Like you. You just shared this article because of the title. Most people are attracted towards negative news. There are bitcoin haters (due to being ignorant) and when they see something like this, they start sharing and spreading the news. The mainstream media has always been like this. Ignore them and keep holding!
2044  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you run when you fail or loose in a trade? on: May 05, 2021, 12:31:24 AM
Wouldn't it be a "waste" to run away after you fail or lose in your trade? Making mistakes and losing money while trading is a part of a lesson that you can learn and avoid them in the future. It's a part of learning experience to be exact. If you fail once and never try again, you are a real loser and wasted a lot of precious time. If you aren't successful, the best thing to do is find out why you failed and learn from it. Next, you avoid those mistakes in the future. But then you will make new mistakes and you repeat until you have gained enough knowledge. Eventually you will be ready and become an experienced trader which will help you to succeed in your future trading. In other words, don't run. Keep trying (as long as you can afford).
2045  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Dogecoin is now being pumped with BTC on: May 05, 2021, 12:24:06 AM
BTC price is going down, Dogecoin up, but don't fall into this newbie trap, it's all relative, the whales will sell Dogecoin back to BTC!
Do you think doge will be able to reach $1? That would be crazy. And yeah, I am sure they are going to dump their dogecoin soon and get back into BTC. With BTC dropping right now, perfect opportunity for them to maximize their profit.
ETH seems to be doing good too. At least Ether isn't a joke coin (and getting pumped/manipulated) like dogecoin. Would be even better if people jumps back to ETH after dumping their doge.
2046  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: your worst mistake on: May 05, 2021, 12:08:22 AM
Everyone seen to have made the same mistake. They got greedy or sold at the wrong time. I won't deny, I did the same thing. Kind of got greedy and tried investing in shit coins. Did work out well at the beginning, but was a disaster at the end. And I also did sell at the "wrong" time. Loses weren't huge though, but was kind of very draining mentally and physically (spent so much time being obsessed lol).  Biggest mistake is, I knew about bitcoin earlier, was really interested but never invested.
2047  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Feel Pressed Something while Gambling on: May 03, 2021, 11:11:48 PM
Lmao what the hell Cheesy. Now that's hilarious. I have never seen or heard someone do something like this. I have just seen people feeling nauseas when they loose or win big. Did he literally shit his pants? And the casino where you used to play, was that an illegal casino? You were in school, living with your mom. So I suppose you were not old enough to gamble? Why would a casino allow an underage/minor to gamble? That is so illegal.
2048  Economy / Economics / Re: The Modern Mode of Payments on: May 03, 2021, 11:08:44 PM
Not really. The pandemic hasn't caused people to "not" use fiat. People are still using fiat cash. Trust me. I see people using cash everyday like they used to before. People now just make sure they sterilize their hands after getting back home or to their destination (or do they?). People also still use cashless system such as card payments just like the pre pandemic times. Nothing has changed. Electronic cash system is sill the same. Digital currency such as bitcoin is still not being used as a mainstream currency (that is being accepted everywhere).
Also, through this pandemic many people start using cryptocurrency where they can earn money as another source of income.
Crypto currencies should never be considered as "another source of income"!
2049  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Towards a unified currency on: May 03, 2021, 06:04:32 PM
Have always wonder which currency would the world accept if only one currency was to be used. Maybe the dollar?, don't think so, The British won't tolerate that.
Cryptocurrency?. Maybe. Until the advent of cryptocurrency, I never thought that would be possible but it seems possible.
The world is not too far from a unified currency.
Nope. I doubt we will ever be able to use a "unified currency". It is not just possible. Different countries have different problems. Problems of their own. Think about how big of an issue it will be because of inflation. How much of a mess it will be to print money. It is just not going to happen.
Those that are saying bitcoin is a good option, how? Bitcoin has its own problem and flaws too. And no way any government would allow a decentralized currency to be the main currency of their country.
2050  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: This happened many months ago but still wanted to share. on: May 01, 2021, 02:36:09 PM
I decided to try out a new RTG casino and take them up on their first deposit bonus about 400% match no max cashout. I deposited 100$ worth of bitcoin and received the match and started playing $10 spins. After sometime I was up to about 4k and easily finished the 45% playthrough. Ive never done something so stupid i didnt read the terms and conditions that said I cant place bets over $10 and the rules still appy after playthrough is finished and well i kept playing until i was up to about 20k and decided it was time to withdraw and got this message instead of my money ....totally my fault for not reading the terms

-snip-

Kind regards,
Mikey
Casino Management
Lol, tell me you are kidding? Are you shilling for this casino or you some how represent this casino and you made a thread over here as a stunt? Are you saying you made a deposit fo $100, received your 400% bonus and you turned that $100 to $20,000? How about you send some screenshots of your bets and/or your in balance history?
If this is real, then you are indeed really lucky. Too bad you broke a lot of their terms of service (and really weird terms of service) without knowing. Hope you actually read next time (who even does that?). I wonder why you aren't pissed off at all...
2051  Economy / Economics / Re: “You don’t spend money now, you can’t spend after you die” on: May 01, 2021, 02:27:00 PM

It’s the best financial advice, covid is the marketing keyword to remind you, if you don’t spend every last penny in the wallet, you can never have a chance to spend that again. Spend until you drop you plebs!
Lol, what? That's the worst "financial advice" someone can give. You have to be really stupid to follow a saying like this. You never know when you are going to die. What if you spend your "every last penny in the wallet", and then you are still alive. What you going to do then? Suffer for the rest of your life? Or how about spending what you need and saving the rest while not worrying about death? I would prefer the latter. In fact everyone would.
2052  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin vs Agriculture on: May 01, 2021, 01:51:23 PM
Bitcoin is a currency (money) and farming/agriculture is a totally something different. There is no way bitcoin can improve your farming skills or anything.
Bitcoin is a peer to peer electronics cash system while Agriculture is the production of crops and rearing of animals for man's use. I am a farm who is into subsistence and plantation farming in my country, but i find it difficult to use bitcoin to improve my farm the way others business men use bitcoin to improve their investment.how can i use bitcoin to improve my plantation farm? Does it mean farmers cannot use bitcoin to improve their peasant or plantation farm?
Kindly share your idea to help someone.
Like you said, different business and people uses it to improve their investment. You can do the same. Invest in bitcoin, make profit and use your profit to improve your farming system. Or you may start accepting bitcoin from your clients as a payment method. Convert like 80% of it to fiat while holding rest. Less profit in the beginning, but in the long run you won't be regretting at all!
2053  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: RUMOUR: Facebook will announce they hold #Bitcoin on: April 30, 2021, 07:59:53 PM
According to some cryptocommunity members there is a rumor that the Facebook social media giant might be holding Bitcoin on its balance sheet.

https://twitter.com/alistairmilne/status/1386953429814333441

As one user commented, "I hope not, the companies that hold #bitcoin will probably survive the upcoming inflation."

What do you think?

A rumor is a rumor. Has no facts that can backup the claim. So don't listen to those. Anyone can say anything. Doesn't matter if it is Alistair or someone else. People do this sort of things for their own advantage - create FOMO, disrupt the market and exit as soon as possible with profit. And look, no one will care if his rumors weren't true. But when one of his rumors do come true, everyone will start thinking he knows a "lot" of information unknown to public and hence start to "worship" him. So people like him will keep on making baseless claim until one of them come true.

"The Dogefather
SNL May 8"

Really? When we were first using Dogecoin in 2013 this guy had no idea about it and now he calls himself the Dogefather just because he is rich and bought tons? It's all market manipulation folks, wake up! The only Dogefather is Jackson Palmer the guy who created the coin.

With his "smart" tweets he controls the price and newbies are falling into this trap! I don't know about you but I'm very disappointed. He's probably using Dogecoin to increase his BTC capital.

Remember, 98 addresses control > 67% of all Dogecoins. Dogecoin has become what it is, a joke coin.
I swear, at this point it looks like he is doing it just for fun and to troll people. And he is actually succeeding in doing so. See how half of the people are not getting mad every time he mentions anything about doge? Do you really think he is making hefty profit out of it? He already has enough. Maybe he is doing it for us? So that we can profit from him? I wouldn't be surprised if one day he stops and then says something like, "It was very obvious. Those who made profit, are the smart ones".
2055  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Communities on: April 30, 2021, 07:06:00 PM
It is nice to hear news of Bitcoin adoption happening because it addresses real life problems. Much of the Bitcoin news lately talk of the price, of rising Bitcoin investment opportunities, of huge amounts expected to enter the market, and so on. Only seldom do we hear of news about Bitcoin adoption on the basis of real world problems on the ground getting addressed with its exploitation. Here's one:

The world's first fully Bitcoin-enabled community is being built on this small Caribbean island

The beautiful island of Bequia is a victim of bank 'derisking,' a process in which large banking institutions "remove their intermediary banking services from smaller island-based community banks." This prevents the island-based banks from transacting internationally. If this trend continues it means small island nations will be essentially cut off from international trade and commerce. For tourism-based economies, this will be devastating."

When I searched further for Bitcoin communities, I found this article from Forbes.

This El Salvador Village Adopts Bitcoin As Money

El Zonte is a small beach community of unbanked locals where small businesses cannot even meet the minimum requirements for banks to let them accept credit card payments. Moreover, international remittance is one source of income. However, locals are dependent on Western Union which charges them with fees as high as 5-10% and whose nearest branch is 1 hour away by bus.

Have you heard of similar Bitcoin communities? Share them here. These small communities would serve as a sort of a case study for Bitcoin's viability.
This is interesting, but not the first time I am hearing about such "communities". So far I have heard about few countries where a part of a town will be completely crypto currencies oriented. I have also recently heard about something similar taking place in Dubai. A crypto zone where using crypto won't be taxed (not completely sure about this) and everyone will accept crypto. Too bad, after few months we don't hear anything about those projects/planning. They either fail or lose interest and are never initiated.
2056  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: JUST CURIOUS on: April 30, 2021, 05:10:22 PM
seeing top influencers buying into bitcoin and some going public to talk about shows bitcoin is a step ahead in the expected direction. everyone is probably buying and holding to sell at a higher price later. just curious to know how long these guys will hold bitcoin and what price they will likely sell ? is it even possible to know their mind ? but i am sure they are in for long term. what do you feel about this. ?
No, it's not possible to know "what's going on in their mind" lol. You can't know when they will sell. They will keep holding and will sell when they want to or reached their profit goal. They will never tell anyone when they are about to sell. If they do so, they would just crash the market before they are even able to sell.
Look at Tesla. They took profit. Did they announce before selling? Nope. They only did after selling and taking the profit. If they announced beforehand, it would be a chaos.
2057  Economy / Economics / Re: Using Blockchain to run economies on: April 30, 2021, 03:49:50 PM
You tell the blockchain what you want and what you have to offer. Volunteers will tell blockchain where the resources are.

So say in Africa a man submits he would like to fish all day. Another man wants to ride his bike. Another family wants to eat fish for dinner. The computer links up all three, so that the extra fish the first man caught, will be driven by bike to the family.

You could have different matching algorithms that are competing just like crypto currencies today.

After time the computer would play a bigger and bigger role, until decentralized anarcho communism could be achieved. Maybe after fighting off the governments first.
How effective is it going to be? Do we really need this? Is it because you want to make the system you are talking about decentralized? If so, why? A huge computational power would be needed in this case. Just because "blockchain" exists doesn't mean we should be using it everywhere. Like others pointed out, there are many flaws over here. I doubt decentralization is going to be the best thing for use cases like this. Wanted to know one thing, what makes you think getting rid of government is going to fix everything in the world?
2058  Economy / Economics / Re: How a digital EURO may look like on: April 29, 2021, 08:53:42 PM
I have read about the digital euro talks here and I think it is worth sharing with the forum what is the current thinking or the European Institutions:

Citizen´s consultation yield concerns about:

- Privacy - 43% of people are worried about this!!
- Usefulness and safety
- Integration in the current systems
- Efficient and cost-less

While the ECB acknowledges the need for privacy, they also say:

Quote
Digital euro payments could guarantee different degrees of privacy[7], involving different trade-offs with other policy and regulatory objectives such as the need to combat illicit activities
<...>

In theory, digital euro payments could be anonymous if users’ identities were not verified when they access digital euro services. But this anonymity would provide fertile ground for unlawful activities and could prevent compliance with regulations on anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism.

So, yes, privacy is going to be a concern, yes the institutions will not make digital euro anonymous per-se so I my view we should expect it to be very unlike cash and yes it does open the door to making cash restricted for very small payments and thus having a massive control over people.

My self-question is, up to what point a successful launch of a digital Euro, versus a Digital Yuan and a Digital USD may increase the attractive of these currencies and thus could impact the exchange rate beyond the usual interest rates / inflation / import-export components of the demand for currencies.
Those 43% people use fiat currency. They do know that the fiat currency they are using isn't private at all, right? The other form of "digital fiat" such as digital wallets they use aren't giving them any privacy at all. Then what's the difference between using those and digital EURO? No difference at all. They are all the same. Centralized and controlled by a single entity. I doubt  they would be willing to make a currency that will give full privacy to their people/users. If they do that, they won't be able to control them.
2059  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would having a Debate like: Bitcoin vs Gold win more crypto investors on: April 29, 2021, 08:40:21 PM
I saw some news article on kitco.com (video interview) titled "Frank Giustra challenges Michael Saylor to gold vs Bitcoin debate" and from the video interview kitco had with  Frank Giustra who happens to be a gold guru called out Michael Saylor who happens to be a crypto to a gold vs Bitcoin debate.

Do you think such a debate would bring more investors into the crypto world?
No, it won't help us "win more crypto investors". Instead it will help us find out how stupid people are and divide the community even further more. Why do people keep on comparing bitcoin with gold? It's not the same thing. It's totally absurd to even compare them. Can you instantly sell your gold for buying something online? Can you instantly send someone living on the other end of the earth your gold? You can't. Again, can you hold bitcoin. Nope. Value of bitcoin and other crypto currencies depends on faith. If all people loses faith on bitcoin, the price will drop. Will people lose faith on gold? Something that is precious and has physical existence? Nope.
2060  Economy / Economics / Re: Are some too blind to see? on: April 29, 2021, 07:45:08 PM
Tesla takes profit from crypto investment and some stupid people aren't even bothered, like I always say even billionaires who invest in crypto are here for the profits no matter how long they chill and hype the coins, be smart people
If you are here for making profit from crypto, then what's wrong with the billionaires trying to make profit from it? It's a decentralized free market. Anyone can join it. You can't stop them. Why should we be bothered that they are taking profit? Will you be bothered if I take profit from crypto? At least with them investing, more people are now knowing about crypto currencies. Tesla took some profit from crypto, but at least they are also accepting crypto as a payment method. Look at the bright side. Stop taking everything negatively.
