2061  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 17, 2012, 01:32:15 AM

It's not even so much that he's "wrong", but that it's going to be super annoying when the market slows down a bit and he'll say "told you so! Told you so!" Even if the slow down is 18 years from now.

2062  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 17, 2012, 01:26:27 AM
Today I finally decided to try and buy some BTC via bit instant. I went to the damn 7-11 and there was an apple-buckin' line of hurp derpers at the booth. I said, "I'll come back tomorrow"

FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU
2063  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC will hit $8+ within one month of this thread. on: July 16, 2012, 05:02:46 PM
i'm currently regreting my weekend purchases of a couple steam games at 7.45...

Don't feel bad, brah.  You helped prove that BTC is worth at least 7.45 and has room for more value. We can't let these changes in price halt the actual BTC economy.
2064  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Spanish stone house with 6000m2 property for sale on BitMit. on: July 16, 2012, 03:38:59 PM
Do we have any record of the "first" actual sale of real estate with bitcoin. Has it even happened yet? That'd be a pretty big milestone.
2065  Economy / Speculation / Re: Rally!!!!! on: July 16, 2012, 03:20:38 PM
Hmmm, this is an interesting turn of events. I wonder what it means.  Huh
2066  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kaspersky poll, vote for Bitcoin on: July 16, 2012, 01:40:13 PM
no facebook account....?

That's my excuse.
2067  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Highest BTC sold for on: July 16, 2012, 03:41:14 AM
Because it did!

I remember that day well! I woke up, took a shower, checked Mt. Gox and nearly pooped myself when I saw that it was at $32 (not $70 though)!
2068  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Resign from Bitcoinica on: July 16, 2012, 02:13:29 AM
What if everyone resigns from bitcoinica ?

*mind fuck

The situation would probably be the same as it is now?  Grin
2069  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom looking for suggestions on payments on: July 15, 2012, 12:56:41 PM
How can he be ignoring those suggestons if he is retweeting them? Huh
Have you seen him retweet any other payment provider suggestion besides Bitcoin?
He also retweeted Matonis article on Forbes. https://twitter.com/ForbesTech/status/223409880755740672

I was trying to make more of a joke commenting on my opinion of twitter than anything  Grin

But if he is actually seeming interested, all the better.
2070  Economy / Speculation / Re: Gold collapsing. Bitcoin UP. on: July 15, 2012, 12:54:38 PM
That is interesting. And you've been so critical of bitcoin

Really? I don't feel I've been critical of BTC. I love the hell out of BTC.

My apologies.  Got you mixed up with mysteryminer on whose thread you commented extensively in favor of bitcoin. :-)

Ok, phew. I was thinking that I must be really bad a writing if I come across as anti-bitcoin Cheesy
2071  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Kim Dotcom looking for suggestions on payments on: July 15, 2012, 12:21:49 PM

This sort of reminds me of the guy who said that the worldwide demand for computers would be four or five, and they guy who decided that 4x10^6 IPv4 addresses should be plenty.  The chief difference is that the guys who made these two mistakes give every indication of having been clever people who understood the technology and the market space.

There are enough. More than enough, even with rich companies hogging entire address ranges with their class A networks. It's called NAT.

So anyway, I've read through this and the articles online and it seems he is completely ignoring the bitcoin suggestions and everyone is ignoring that he is ignoring them. I don't use twitter though. Thoughts on this?

I just figured he was the average twitter user: just scream endless into the void and hope someone cares....without actually caring what others on twitter say Cheesy

2073  Economy / Services / Re: [WTS] Video/Audio editing on: July 15, 2012, 11:53:44 AM
Hello.  I am a budding AV editor and am looking for a chance to practice my skill/make a few BTC.  If you have some video you'd like put together or audio you want mixed please contact me and we'll work out a deal.  I'll do anything with you supplying the material (wedding videos, ect) to basic requests (Make a Rainbow Dash montage to this German folk song, ect)

Here is one example of my mix-craft: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VYwrag28yUU
I've also done a few corporate "how-to" videos where I narrated as well.  Would supply them here, but not sure how those clients would feel about being advertised here so won't provide links.

Example of audio mixing: http://www.filedropper.com/exo-squadepisodeii-magnondawn (gee, can you guess which sci-fi property I enjoy most as a kid?)

Maxwell?

...is another name I use online

So it's sexist for a dude to say he's in love with a woman?

Naw dawg, I'll lay it out.  It's sexist because, instead of addressing her ideas or whatever (I'm assuming the woman in the picture is the Ann who wrote the quote) he jumped to "Her face is ugly but I'd sex her body up!" and then another reply was "We can force her to have a radical medical procedure done to her in order for her to sex us better!"

That's why it sexist.  I imagine a world where women can post, or be posted, on the bitcoin forums without having everyone address their ability to please men addressed first. That's why its sexist.

Now, if it was some strange universe where a man's picture was posted and the first comments where about sexing him up and him having face surgery to make him more sexy...then ya, that'd be sexist too.

I'll stop addressing it now as it's off topic, but I just like to point out this sorta stuff anywhere I'm on the web. It gets old and I like to think that people with vaginas can be treated equally and without being judged on their looks first and foremost.

Sorry, I was replying to what was quoted.

Maybe I'm misinterpreting what you're trying to say then.  Like, if you actually know someone and are in a relationship with them, then no, say you love them all you want.  But saying that you love someone because you think that they can sexually please you (sans the face bit) and totally ignore everything they actually said, then yes.

So your a woman then?

2076  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Underwhat circumstances would you sell off all your BTC? on: July 15, 2012, 03:43:21 AM
I'd sell of all my bitcoins in the event that the price spikes to something crazy in one day like the $30 spike, only to buy them back later.  Anytime I try to do any day trading I lose out though.

I don't consider myself a crackpot. Austrian economics bother me; blow-hard libertarianism bothers me even more. I realize that the bitcoin "community" is ridiculed from time to time for being so viciously loyal to its namesake currency and its dream of global economic upheaval. Generally, I am cautious to associate myself with anything that emits a crackpot-esque vibe. Still, even after the ridiculous amount time I have spent on this forum, I have yet to discover any reason why bitcoin could necessarily not be the currency of our grandchildren. So thus far, I'm sold. And I'm here for the long haul.

I agree with the "crackpot-esque" bit.  I don't buy into any of the hype that BTC will replace USD, or that USD will collapse anytime soon. I DO believe that bitcoin fills a gap in the Internet and has a ton of potential.  I don't see any reason why BTC cannot exist side-by-side with USD for the next 100 years and I'm very excited about the possibilities for BTC.

I scrolled down to her face, bleh.. scrolled down to pink AR.. nice.. skirt/legs/heels..  I'm in love!! Wink

Minor issue Smiley

Gotta love mindless, pointless sexism!  I bet you're quite the looker yourself.

Was he discriminating based on gender or simply expressing an opinion? One is sexism, the other is not.

It's sexism because he wouldn't have said anything if it was a dude, duh.
2079  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: I buy bitcoins at 9 dolars each! on: July 14, 2012, 02:07:37 AM
Just to warn anyone wanting to trade with PayPal, PayPal is reversible and most PayPal threads end up with the seller getting ripped off. See the marketplace posts for notable examples.
This thread sets most red flags off.

What do I do then?

It is just 1 BTC. Can't anybody trust me?

Nope. Buy it off Mt. Gox at market value, son.

So brave.

Not sure if you're saying like, "So brave to speak out on pointless, off-topic sexism!"

Or like, "Ohh..you said he was ugly. Hur hur big man!" If this is the case, then yea, that's kinda the point.
