Please can we stay in 42 for a while? Everyone loves this number! Cheesy

Looks like sellers were caught unaware and $42 is going to go by super fast.
1482  Economy / Speculation / Re: Chavez is dead, bitcoin going to $100 tomorrow!!!! on: March 06, 2013, 01:07:23 AM
Chavez isn't dead. He was spotted outside a NYC record store picking up the latest Matt and Kim album.
1483  Economy / Speculation / Re: Do you think the rally is over now... or very soon? on: March 05, 2013, 07:34:18 PM
Did you see it? We crashed to 39. Soon enough for you? My, it gave me a real feeling of nostalgia to be back in the 30s. Took me back to the heady times of early this AM when you could buy three quarters and still get change from a dollar (copper/nickel quarters, that is. Real ones are too rich for my blood).

I lol'd.

Rally will end when I decide, everyone.
1484  Economy / Speculation / Re: How long will we continue to push new highs? on: March 05, 2013, 07:33:20 PM
It'll keep going up as long as bears like Adam and Proudhun keep trying to tell people to sell because they have "foreseen it" or whatever silly bear logic  they can come up with.
1485  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 05, 2013, 07:27:23 PM
Roll Eyes Adam, seriously bro, cut your losses and just buy. You will thank me later.

I have seen to many signs that the bubble was about to burst... I'm amazed it got this high!

Adam, I think your computer is broken. It seems to be only reposting things you posted back in December.
1486  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 05, 2013, 02:52:52 PM
This is the rally that never ends. It just goes on and on, my friend. Some people started buying coin not knowing what it was and they'll just keep on buying it forever just because this is the rally that never ends.  It just goes on and on, my friend. Ok, we've got to have reached peak absurdity.  It's time to go down people.  Stop being silly.

I think it's clear who here has been silly this whole time Tongue

As for the cry of "$50 by April!" part of me thinks that seems ambitious, but the rest of me realizes that it's very clear that there is no reason this isn't at all possible.
1488  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am about to do something massivley stupid on: March 05, 2013, 04:52:09 AM
But I won't have to pay until I stop taking classes.

And I did know some students who kept going to college for the lone purpose of not wanting to start paying their debt. Like, 7+ years of undergrad. I don't know what they thought was going to happen to them eventually....
1489  Economy / Economics / Re: Right now it seems like everyone is hoarding... on: March 05, 2013, 04:39:30 AM
So the more the economy grows, and the more that are spent the higher the price?

Yes. Velocity can increase prices.  I typed a whole paragraph trying to explain it, but decided I'd leave it up to someone who would do a better job Cheesy
1490  Economy / Economics / Re: Right now it seems like everyone is hoarding... on: March 05, 2013, 04:17:52 AM
I think a lot more people are spending now than any other time before.  The different charts for "bitcoin days destroyed" generally support this theory.
1491  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am about to do something massivley stupid on: March 05, 2013, 03:05:33 AM
OP isn't that fraud?  Taking a personal loan or using a credit card is one thing but how exactly are you planning on getting a student loan for "not being a student".  Also buying an investment on credit because it can't go down is a good way to royally screw up your finances.

I don't know about the laws around student loans, but I think they're pretty lax until you get in trouble.  A lot of people use some/most of the money as "living expenses" if they don't have a part-time job.  I also knew a guy who bought a motorcycle with student loans. So, go figure.
1492  Economy / Speculation / Re: I am about to do something massivley stupid on: March 05, 2013, 02:58:55 AM
People are taking out loans to buy cars! Clearly the top of the auto market is just around the corner....

But seriously, don't take out a loan for anything if you can avoid it.
1493  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: [ANN] BitcoinStore launching with 0% margin on: March 05, 2013, 02:34:18 AM
Do we know when search will improved? Last week I was able to search "wireless headset" and get about 30 results, all reasonable. Today when I search it comes up with 1500+ items and most neither wireless nor headset.
1494  Economy / Speculation / Re: What will the price do when the reward halves again in November of 2016? on: March 02, 2013, 07:01:52 AM
Rally!

Never a bad guess!
1495  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 02, 2013, 02:40:59 AM
I think we can offically call it "the fall of yet another manipulator wannabe". Wink

Pretty much this
1496  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 02, 2013, 02:30:13 AM
Placing a sell order at 33.6 is just asking to lose your coins.

I like your username btw
1497  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Crash!!! on: March 02, 2013, 02:29:43 AM
Coinbase is outta coins again.

Clearly a sign of a crash waitwat?
1498  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 02, 2013, 02:27:43 AM

Sell pressure? OMG, look at that massive drop of....4000BTCs!! How impressive!! Tongue

A 5% drop does not indicate selling pressure?

Whatever...

I think it will depend on if we see it pan out past the "one bear trying to manipulate but gonna fail" territory as to whether or not it's real sell pressure.
1499  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: March 02, 2013, 02:15:39 AM
Maybe a weekend dip, maybe not. I'm toats not expecting any weekend crash though.

UPDATE: Someone is trying to make me look da foo'!

We are back at -1 day levels.  I would hardly call this a crash.

That's why I said tryin Tongue
1500  Economy / Speculation / Re: Sorry to inform you, the current rally is over now... or very soon. on: March 02, 2013, 02:12:02 AM
The majority of the bitcoin developers are statists and have no interest in making bitcoin more anonymous and hard to trace. There is a very good reason to have a competing currency that takes the opposite direction and has anonymity as its goal.

There are lots of things they could do to introduce these features but they are incentivised not to do so because of the larger bitcoin businesses who want less anonymity and more identification of users.

For the record, I'm dismissing pretty much all this out of hand. Plus, it does zero to refute any of my points.  You may not like the BTC developers and businesses, but the real world doesn't care who you like/don't like.

Another thing, even if bitcoin is $100 for one and LTC is $1 each it won't matter a lick.  If something is the equivilant of $100 USD you'll need either 1BTC or 100LTC. It's not like you some how get any sort of magical savings by going with the worthless alt-coin.
