1721  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 17, 2013, 03:11:23 PM
Do we just go crazy up or can we expect another wall to pop-up somewhere in short order?

Depends if anyone learned anything from June 2011 or not. No need to go crazy. I'm hoping the bears can put up some kind of resistance.

With the speed that we went through $14.XX I'm starting to think that the major bears blew their was trying to crash the market in the $13.30's.  I wouldn't be surprised if the only selling we see from here on in is mostly normal people/business selling to recoup spent USD.
1722  Economy / Speculation / Re: $15.00 again --> buy now! on: January 17, 2013, 03:08:17 PM
We tried that in June of 2011. It didn't work out so well. The people dumping weren't the sad ones, they got to buy back in at $2.50.

If people want to sell, let them! Some resistance would be healthy.

Now that I've said that, I, personally, won't be selling any.  Cheesy

I find the circumstances between now and 2011 or 2012 totally different.  But yes, in reality some resistance is a good thing.

I will be standing by my motto of "Never sell. Buy or spend" regardless of what happens.

funny

bull-bot fighting penny-bot

Go-go mighty bull bot!

Anyone predicting what happens if we break the $15 wall today? Do we just go crazy up or can we expect another wall to pop-up somewhere in short order?
1724  Economy / Speculation / Re: $15.00 again --> buy now! on: January 17, 2013, 02:55:31 PM
Party over in the Wall thread! Cheesy

But seriously, I think people who will buy will buy. What we should do is discourage people from dumping/shorting/whatever. They're just gonna end up real sad.

(Bulls making loads of money)

Some Bears: But, but you haven't even reached the one-year high of 15.40 yet, let alone the all-time high, how can you call it a win?

Bulls: LOL STFU.

You forgot to add

Bears: How can you also call it a win after it goes down $0.01 after a rally of $1.00? HUH?!
1726  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 17, 2013, 02:27:56 AM

That was very enjoyable to watch that 4k+ wall just be ripped to pieces.

Indeed  Grin

$15 today? Only 10,000btc to go

Here's hoping for a few more of those 2k buys Cheesy

nobody's dumping. How interesting

They wasted their money trying to crash the market in the $13s. I tried to warn them!

HAHA I like this. I hope this is exactly what has happened and will happen.

this is very likely, i tried to short at 13.50 and failed...

And I warned you specifically not to Tongue

We are in the same range now as 2011 where people bought in a frenzy on the way to $30. There must be a few who have waited a long time to get out of Bitcoin.

There was a guy who asked for advise some time ago. He bought 1000BTC at $22. People suggested he cashed out on a loss to buy up cheaper. Quite sensible advise at the time. But he would rather stick to his coins and sell when they was 22 or higher even if it took a long time.

Maybe that's the kind of out of the blue dumps we see?

I think this is a reasonable hypothesis.  I think we'll see less and less of them after we break the 2012 high and, after that, 2011 high.
1731  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 16, 2013, 05:55:52 PM
seriously the asks are that wimpy?

I know, right? It's a bit like staring into the Monolith and whispering "My god, it's full of stars"

1734  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 16, 2013, 04:56:14 PM
Well, looks like $15 by the end of the day is a very high possibility.   Cool
1735  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer - MtGoxUSD wall movement tracker on: January 16, 2013, 04:42:47 PM
Is it me, or are no new ask/bids being put up? It seems like walls on both sides are slowly being whittled away.

The chart right above you disagrees.

The asks are shrinking, but the bids are growing.

Hmm, strange. Maybe my clarkmoody connection is just messed up somehow :/

1737  Economy / Speculation / Re: How to get rich on bitcointalk without really trying. on: January 16, 2013, 04:11:46 PM
1. Start several nics
2. Make wildly random speculations on each nic
3. The nic with the highest success rate can invite investors to your "fund" or "newsletter"
4. Profit

I'm pretty sure this is how it works in every case, bitcoin or USD Cheesy
1738  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Allo 'Allo!- Answering the phone with "Bitcoin?" on: January 16, 2013, 03:05:41 PM
I've been answering my phone by saying "I just want to be held" for years now.

I say we're near the euphoria phase  Grin

Nah, that was back in 2011 with the "Despondency" being around Jan-March of 2012 Cheesy
1740  Economy / Speculation / Re: [Poll] How long until $1000 per 1 Bitcoin? on: January 16, 2013, 03:00:26 PM
Not going to happen.  Never.

This means it'll probably happen later today.
