First of all it sounds like a scam and second of all it's the wrong forum again Smiley
2082  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: 40.000 Dollar Investment on: July 22, 2014, 12:00:12 PM
Hi guys,

I am about to invest 40k dollars into mining hardware,

What hardware would be the best to invest in? i have seen some chineese stuff like the dragon-miner and ofc the antminer s2-3.

Let me know in wich mining hardware you would invest 40k.

Thank you, Greets

Buy 4x SP30 miners and with the rest of the money buy Bitcoins.

If you buy Bitcoin right now with $40k USD you get 64.9BTC instantly which you can sell at any time (what you if need the $ for a cancer diagnosis).

What if BTC goes down?
2083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 22, 2014, 11:39:22 AM
jimmothy you are so steaming today.

Did they not make any money from the sp10? I'd be surprised if they ended up with less than $10m profit.

It seems that both AM staff (aka FC) and AM shareholders (aka jimmothy) like to throw big numbers out there. 100PH/s in 2-3 months, $10m profit out of SP10s and so on. Please break the numbers down for us because I really like to see how you got to that number. How many units do you think they sold in order to get $10m profit out of it?

Quote
This is a lousy excuse. At $0.1/gh (could be much lower) they would only need $1m for 3 months worth of sp30 chips. (at 500 sp30/month)

I see that you only quoted the cheapest part aka the chips. What about the rest? PCBs, components, server grade PSUs, cases. They aren't so cheap as the chips and they are not available to buy from stock in large quantities.

Quote
Yes but how much of that $2m/month is long lead time parts?

Do you really think NRE is $3-5M?

I don't know exactly what makes up the NRE but I can't imagine a simple die shrink costs a bunch. AM's full custom 40nm cost less than 1m NRE.

I'm betting that server grade PSUs in big numbers aren't so easy to find, or the custom PCBs.

The NRE is at least $3M and while I don't know the numbers I am sure that the NRE cost goes up exponentially for each process node so it seems pretty viable to have a $3M cost for a 28nm mask if you are having $1M fost a 40nm mask. Maybe someone can enlighten us with some proofs, instead of just words.

Quote
How do you explain bitmain, asicminer, bitfury, avalon, and a1 clones which have zero problem selling from stock? The majority of the network is powered by miners bought from stock.

Comparing apples with oranges yet again. I think that only Bitmain is a good comparision, the rest aren't. AM had an IPO which means money upfront from people before showing miners, Bitfury sold overexpensive pre-orders for their 400GH/s miners last summer (MetaBank) plus they self mined as soon as it was possible, Avalon had preorders for their B1, B2 and B3 batches and then they had ~$8M in hand for chips pre-orders which were sold to third party before being delivered/refunded to customers and the A1 clones they didn't have to pay for NRE so it was easier for them.

Quote
Yes, the only benefit of preorders is reducing the risk on the company and shifting it to the customers.

You think that the company has 0 risk by taking pre-orders?

Quote
But spondoolies is already is fully funded by VC is it not? I remember something about how they have enough funds to cover all batches if they need to.

The statement is true, but that would mean sacrificing gen3 NRE costs. Thinking into the future isn't your best skill Smiley
2084  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Noob: What miner to buy? on: July 22, 2014, 09:53:22 AM
S3 is currently the best miner out in market..

It's not currently available to order.

So I was reading what Fred Wilson stated today

Quote
And I think that that’s probably going to be first big commercial opportunity in bitcoin, [...] to create secure systems.

What if Bitcoin will improve and boost the IT security in general and especially private people's security? What if better security overall will teach everyone how to secure their systems and in the same time it will help them to decentralize a bit from the governments? Bitcoin may give power to the people in a lot more ways than the financial system.

they will have about 27,000 chips.
will transfer $10 million to the new company in cash
2089  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 21, 2014, 11:19:31 PM
@spondoolies
Are the chips already in hand?
We're getting the ASICs on Tuesday

Do you have an estimate on when the august batch will ship? Early august, late august?

They'll ship in August. And probably over a reasonable period in order order.

With all due respect, I didn't ask you. If spondoolies doesn't want to tell us their estimates, then I'd rather hear that from them, your post contains no information.

Also they have talked about shipping the WA hosted orders using container mail to cut down on costs, which would imply all or most of them shipping at the same time.

They are getting chips in hand in a couple of hours and they already stated that they will produce nonstop the units.

scammers DON'T  get on flights and attend conferences.
scammers DON'T sign deals (that are verifiable) with chip manufacturers
scammers DON'T answer the telephone
scammers DON'T have their profiles and pictures on Linkedin and Facebook.
scammers DON'T invite people to their offices for visits and then welcome people into their office.

and that's just for starters - there's a hidden agenda here by the trolls...

no doubt about it....

BUT SCAMMERS NEVER SHOW A REAL TANGIBLE PROOF WHEN ASKED and they will say, promise and do ANYTHING else just to get your money!
2092  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 21, 2014, 05:08:48 PM
I'm using it as an example to show you how a company who delivered perfectly on time and 10% over spec actually fucked their customers.

KnC fucked their customers when they decided to make 1 (or 2) big ass datorhalls for selfish mining.
2093  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 21, 2014, 04:07:47 PM
Hello, I tried contacting you a few days ago trough your online form, but no response yet..

#755

that is strange
maybe they will not ship anything and pump out preorder money to islands of paradise?

It's not strange. There were cases where e-mails aren't being delivered. Stop spreading FUD!
2094  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [ANN] Spondoolies-Tech - Best W/GH/s ratio, Best $/GH/s ratio on: July 21, 2014, 03:59:13 PM
I personally do not get all the FUD directed at SPtech. Anyone with calculator can figure out what is or isn't a good deal. I got a decent deal. Hopeful August delivery is on time. I have faith that SPtech will do what they have promised.

It's not FUD it's just bad business to go with preorders and inflated website pricing.

So you as a shareholder in a competitor company are stating that what SP-Tech is doing is it's bad business. I'm sorry, but who are you to say what is good and what is bad business for them. It looks like it's doing them good since they are not changing anything.

I can come and say that it's bad business for AM to not issue dividends after they did it weekly for a good period of time, anyone can come and claim anything actually, but you are the least persons that should do it about SP-Tech considering the above. So what exactly is your issue here? It seems that you are the only one complaining and since you are sleeping in bed with the competitor well it's simply useless to state anything about how should SP-Tech run its business.

Like KNC? They technically shipped on time and overspec yet I don't see neptune owners particularly overjoyed.

I do believe the sp30 will be another solid piece of hardware and they would have no problem selling it from stock but unfortunately they decided to go with the sales method that screws over customers 9 times out of 10.

Please share why should Neptune owners be overjoyed. They delivered on time, but not in 1 case as they promised and many had problems with PSU switching off.

As for SP30 customers well SP-Tech managed to sell out all August pre-orders in a period of time when nobody else is doing such long pre-orders (bitmain excluded with their 2 weeks S3 pre-orders).

What about your AM shares? I do believe that FC is tricking the shareholders with expenses that bring money to his partners, but not to the shareholders.

Strange, I haven't seen Jim here for a while.

I think that there is a bet, still running, right?

Nice summoning him.

...

Welcome back! Just in time to celebrate the AM shares going down to the original values.

Still no product has been seen working.

Because there isn't one!

proove it.

I don't have to. The fact that there isn't a live demo speaks for itself. You or anyone else prove that there is a real device working.

Hi guys,

Have been following the different manufacturers in mining equipment.  I just wonder how they can do this:

Consider:
Cointerra --- 28nm chips x 16, can only produce 100GHS per chip and machinewise 1600GHS, and use 1.3W/GHS
Antminer S3 --- 28nm chips x 32, can only produce ~15GHS per chip and machinewise ~450GHS, and use ~0.78W/GHS
Spondoolies --- 28nm chips x 30, can produce 200GHS per chip and machinewise 6000GHs???, and use <0.5W/GHS???

I know Cointerra is kinda crapy, but the "Cointerra vs Antminer" comparison makes sense, Cointerra use higher frequency per chip thus more GHS per chip, but less power efficient.  vise versa.  And indeed both these products exists, but both delivered under-spec, suggesting that the industry struggled in further pushing the 28nm chips to higher performance ... 28nm chip has more or less reached the limit (i.e. overclock setting: 100GHS with 1.3W/GHS, or underclock setting: 15GHS with 0.78W/GHS).

Now the "Cointerra vs Spondoolies" and "Antminer vs Spondoolies" comparisons doesn't make sense.  Spon got both chipwise and powerwise more efficient than both Antminer and Cointerra ... that doesn't sound right ... has any of this product been shipped yet?

How hard is to read at least the last posts before you post? Check this out:

I have some cash to invest in scrypt miners and after a bit of reading I found a bunch of companies.

You need to go here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?board=160.0

Ah, thanks you very much you made my research of good opportunity so much less complicated. I need to go there and what? Read all of this?

You need to go there, post there and gain information from there. This is the BTC Mining forum, not scrypt.
