2081  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 26, 2022, 09:47:37 PM
There's another NBA player that's in the rumor of going to play in T1 league in Taiwan and that's DeMarcus Cousins.

It's worth noting that Howard dominated in his debut games in this league. So I think if Cousins signs, he will probably dominate as well. On the one hand, it's good that there are leagues in which teams are always willing to sign NBA veterans. On the other hand, the competition in the T1 league seems pretty weak, which means that even a good performance in this league may not be enough to convince NBA scouts.

They maybe not convince NBA scouts for now but for sure when basketball in Taiwan became famous and there are local players show some real potentials then maybe NBA scouts will consider them. For now maybe its worth nothing since in first place the league is new but for sure years rolls there league will became famous due to the action they do for signing up NBA veterans and also with that the skills of their locals will also upgrade to adopt the game style of players they play with.

The local league there needs a long way to go before becoming a talent pool for the NBA.  Not sure if anyone from that league has made it to the NBA, but looking good in that league versus stacking up against nba talent is a wide margin.  Hoping all these leagues pick up because it only progresses the sport further.

France is one of the most consistent countries so far they have the potential to be champions again this year,
The first team to qualify for the next round is France. Kylian Mbappe is making as much headlines as Messi is with three goals currently in this competition and over six goals in his record of goals scored in the world cup with a big possibility of him getting more goals. He is one of the best for France and it is good that he is not one of the players that have sustained injuries for France.

That give and go on Mbappe's first goal was beautiful.  He is definitely taking the next step towards the top end of the world wide talent pool.  And Messi came through in Argentina most important moment.  Mexico is in trouble.  They should be able to beat Saudi but they will need a lot of help or at a minimum win by 3+ goals to give themselves a chance.
2083  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Why are crypto devs so greedy on: November 25, 2022, 10:41:01 PM
The majority of crypto collapse always comes from the centralisation part and of cos the human greed, what do you think is the proper solution for these? To avoid hurting crypto investors and how to guarantee that their funds is safe with any platform, either Staking, Lending or Trading.

What is the way forward? What solution do you think will be effective?

Solution?  Stop putting your money into every coin that pops up.  Until people start smartening up this will never stop.  In fact it will only get worse and worse as it's known you can make a quick buck starting a crypto scam.  Invest in known coins and leave the trash heap of coins and tokens alone.  Greedy investors feeds greedy devs
2084  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Qatar bribed 8 players from Ecuador for the opening match on: November 25, 2022, 10:38:11 PM
It's one of those hot news, and you can find in almost all the Newspapers.

It looks like Qatar bribed eight Ecuadorian players for $7.4 millions to lose the wold cup opener. And this isn't weird to me, i mean if they already pay a shit ton of money to have the world cup in their country then we can expect from this world cup to be the most corrupt event in the Soccer history.

Some sources:
https://sportsbrief.com/football/28069-reports-qatar-bribed-ecuadorian-players-74-million-lose-opener/
https://www.marca.com/en/world-cup/2022/11/18/6376cfc7ca4741cc208b4573.html

Right now odds pays x3.26 if Qatar win, i know is a risky bet but i'm almost sure they will win. Will you place bets on this game after knowing about the bribe?

I'd be more worried about the refs calling some terribly placed calls during a tight game then players from another te throwing the game.  I hope no one on bet on Qatar based on this information.  I know there is scandle throughout soccer but hopefully it's minimal during the world cup.  Takes the fun out of watching each match.
2085  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 25, 2022, 10:35:39 PM
if nobody will sign him in the NBA then at least he can still continue playing basketball outside the US.

As for Taiwan, getting Howard might create a domino effect towards those NBA players who doesn't have contract right now. We might see more NBA player who doesn't have contract playing not only with Taiwan but maybe other countries (more likely in Asia). A win-win for both parties as the player might be paid higher than what they are giving to their local player (it's the case with Howard this season) and at the same time, getting ex-NBA players will boost the popularity of the T1 league.

I guess Cousins can still be a dominant player. Him and Davis are the top scoring players back when they are at Pelicans. Injuries caused Cousins' career to decline but I think he can still dominate a league lower than NBA obviously. Just look what Howard is doing right now in Taiwan. Dominating the paint, a double-double machine and also shooting threes as well Cheesy.
I do not understand these players going down this much. Dwight Howard, Carmelo Anthony, Demarcus Cousins, these were all good players that ended up with being so terrible after a while when they aged that they failed to find even a bench spot in the NBA. I mean really? They cannot even be played in some 10th man position? Like do not give them even any minutes when the game is close, just give them time if there is a garbage time.

This shows that they are not wanted in the locker room neither, because they are surely accepting vet minimum right now and not even offered that, and a talent like them for vet minimum is a bargain, so it must be about locker room issues.

All of these guys have like 20 years of basketball behind them.  They break down easy and teams don't want to take up a roster spot with someone who can only play spot minutes.  They'd rather take a shot on a younger guy.  Most of the time you want your bench guys to bring energy to the game.  Vets on the bench doesn't usually work.

Plenty of games tonight after a full night off.  Tonight I like 3 games so far:

Knicks against Portland-4.  Coming east is always difficult and think this new knicks rotation will play well.

Boston -7.5.  They are at home and as long as taytum and brown are playing and the spread is under 10 I'm taking them.

And gimme golden state at home laying 7.5 against Sacramento.

Gonna look at some other games now too.  Good luck!

I'm pretty sure a lot of people lost bets today because of England. Most of the match results did not match predictions because the probability of England's victory was initially higher than the USA. I didn't lose anything in this fight, but I really felt a loss because in the end England and USA were only about 1 point.

England will actually be safe if they win the match against USA, but today's draw match makes the competition in the group even better. The final group stage match will be very tense, especially when England vs Wales.
I really hope that England can win the match. I'm sure there are also many people who lose bets because they put their hope in England, but it seems that the United States has a strong defense so that it can survive England's attacks and get 1 point in tonight's game

The US defense tracked real well but they made some sloppy plays that could have bitten them.  England played lazy and lackluster like they would just eventually score.  The US midfield play dominated the England mid field side.  Honestly I think the US should be disappointed in this result they had plenty of chances.  Now they need to win against Iran to slide through in the 2 hole against what could be a matchup against a strong Dutch side.

Do you think that launchpad platforms and projects will return soon? We are already in a bear market and very soon new projects will start using launchpads again, I am looking into seedify at the moment but I want to ask the audience, do you think this is a good idea or it's over for IDO, IGO and other?

Putting your money into these project startups us a dumb move financially.  Yeah can one hit big sure.  But likely chances are these are just a bunch of money grab scams that you are handing your money over to.  Wait until the dust settles then buy into something that has proven itself.  Still plenty of money to be made on those projects and much more safe.

Only one word is suitable for the Spanish national team, "They are amazing". Then what about today's match, are you also going to make a bet? Because today I see there are three matches that might be very interesting to watch, such as Switzerland vs Cameroon, Uruguay vs South Korea and Portugal vs Ghana.

Of the three matches I mentioned, which match do you think will be the most exciting to look forward to today? although I also don't want to make a bet today because I remember that there were already two big national teams (Argentina and Germany) that were defeated by regular national teams (Saudi Arabia and Japan) in this world cup.
for now many are afraid to bet because of the surprises that occurred in the match between Argentina against Saudi Arabia and also Germany against Japan, it was really unexpected and many people lost their money, including me.
so I think it's only natural that you don't bet now.
but I don't think so, indeed many unexpected things happen in football and still betting on our favorite team makes it possible to win or return lost money.

Switzerland has won the match 1 goal, it was enough for them to secure 3 points in the opening game.
Meanwhile, Uruguay, which is the seed, also failed to win the match. It's a shame even though they played very well, their front line was quite the highlight in this match, especially Darwin Nunez, who performed very badly.
and the match between Portugal and Ghana is taking place now, so far the match is still quite tight and balanced, in this match I bet on under goals, so far my betting book is still quite safe because the two teams are not playing insistently and not many opportunities are happening so enough allows for not many goals to occur in this match.

Under is a good bet in this Portugal game.  Ghana is backing in on the back line and Portugal plays a conservative possession game.  1-0 will be likely outcome if it doesn't end in a draw.  Ronaldo missed on one wide open possession off a Ghana error, that's the only way I see this being more than a 1 goal game if Ghana's back line screws up.

After watching the first ~fifth of the season one thing is for sure, the Celtics are the team to beat in the East.  The duo of taytum and brown are unstoppable.  If they stay healthy all year long I can see them running the table end to end.  No other team has a twosome as good as them right now.
2091  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA 2022 world cup on: November 24, 2022, 03:50:13 PM
It was an excellent match. There was just something magical about the Uruguay vs Korea match. Both teams displayed great spirit and attacked well! There was no striker to finish for Korea, they moved the ball well, but couldn't finish. Uruguay has, however, had bad luck with their shots as two have struck the goalposts!
When a team is good in attack then there should be a goal that is created but unfortunately this is not there even there is only 1 goal on shot, is it because they are unlucky? I think not but more because they are not good at finishing.

Nunez wasted too many opportunities and Suarez, who was no longer able to run as fast as several years before made Uruguay unproductive. South Korea can only bring the ball forward without a good finish. From 90 minutes only 1 shot on goal and only uruguay can do that how bad this game.

Why do so many games end goalless in this World Cup match? I checked the score at the previous World Cup in Russia there was only 1 goalless match in the group stage the rest there were always goals scored, this is boring.

Portugal vs Ghana, many eyes are waiting for C. Ronaldo's appearance and he is expected to contribute by taking Portugal as far as possible.

Think these are just more level teams playing against each other.  There are still some lopsided games but overall I think the competition has stood up.  Interested in seeing how Portugal plays with all the news swirling around Ronaldo.  My guess is dude does what he does and takes it home against guana today.  Like him or not his game is a pleasure to watch.
2092  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: After FTX collapse, some call for a return to decentralized roots on: November 22, 2022, 10:41:16 PM
As questions swirl about how much cryptocurrencies will be worth in the wake of the spectacular collapse of the crypto exchange FTX and other major platforms, a key question has emerged: Who will keep your crypto safe?

In response, some in the crypto community are calling for a return to its decentralized roots.

Among the rallying cries of this latent movement: “Not your keys, not your coins.”

In other words: Trust only yourself.

But doing so requires individuals to maintain their own cryptocurrency wallets through a more complicated — if safer — process that involves generating complex passwords and sometimes buying physical hardware to keep track of crypto, as opposed to entrusting it to an exchange.

"A company like FTX was supposed to hold your assets, but they ended up lending them out," Tracy Wang, deputy managing editor at the crypto news site CoinDesk, told NBC News.

That concept is what undergirds the traditional monetary system and seems to go against the fundamental philosophy of cryptocurrency.

"This is like taking power back and being in charge of your own money," Wang said of decentralization.

So does that mean that Utopia P2P had chosen the right way from the very beginning, being based on its own decentralized blockchain and having own Crypton privacy coin? As for the 5 years of existence it didn't face any data leakage or scamming scandal. Or what else would you offer to pay attention to?

What do people NOT understand?  Exchanges are just that..exchanges.  they are not meant to be banks or personal wallets.  You are trusting someone else with your keys that is an irreversible transaction away from wiping you out.  I honestly don't get it, why would you keep your money on some 3rd party non insured site?  Even if it's "reputable", we all see how that has gone.  People just need to continue to learn the hard way.

I'm liking some road games today.  3 games so far:

Memphis +7.5 on the road at Nets.  Memphis last year was even better without ja believe it or not record wise.

Detroit +10 on the road.

And Miami +10 at clevland

Secretly I like the Suns-6 but that's against my knicks so I can't bet against them.

1-2 last night not good.  Guess that's what I get for going all away teams lol.

Tonight its 3 games and all home games:

Clevland -2.5 against Atlanta
Pacers -6.5 against Orlando
And last but not least Clippers-3 home against jazz.  I'm still not buying Jazz are gonna be a top team in the west this year.  Early luck/success

3-0 AND the Knicks won on the road making the west coast road trip 3-2.

Tonight there are only 4 or so games on the ticket.

Give me Memphis-1 at home, and I think the lock of the night Suns-10 at home against the Lakers.  I think this could be a 20 point or so blowout.  Might tease the line up some.

Good luck everyone!

I didn't like Poland's performance even a bit. They were the underdog according to bookmakers maybe but I was still expecting a decent effort by them. There was just only one shot on target by Poland. Lewandowski missed a penalty and maybe they missed a big chance to get a win against Mexico. Mexico found many goal opportunities but couldn't make use any.

Lewandowski's fails in big games are still seen and people are still making memes out of them on the internet. I wonder when he will be able to fix this problem and start playing better in big games. It has been like that at Barcelona so far and it is still going on in the World Cup as well.

Poland really looked bad, Mexico was better today but not by far, they even got lucky because Lewandowski missed that penalty. Well he dosent fail in big games because he scored for his clubs but when he plays for Poland its different. He dosent have so many chances to score like in Barcelona, but today he costed them the win.

Yeah Poland squandered a chance at 3 points in this one, Mexico is always tough no matter the location.  Getting a point in this game isn't the worst outcome but they certainly could have positioned them well going into the other 2 games later on.

I think I am one of the unluckiest gambler/bettor out here, today is one of my worst days again and I think I should quit betting.

I went all in on Argentina thinking their match against Saudi Arabia would be an easy win for them, and the fact that the odds were so far away against Saudi Arabia winning while it was in huge favor of Argentina caused me to be so sure that Argentina was going to win the match, and then, I went all in, hoping to make some big wins just like yesterday, but now, everything is gone, in just a twinkle of an eye...
Argentina is a big disappointment, It's still hard to believe, I quit betting until I am able to forget this experience entirely.

That's why it's gambling and not sure things.  It was a crazy game and I'm sure vegas took home a lot of money on the SA win but those are the breaks.  Time will pass and so will this games memory.  Don't go all in on something and you won't have to get bitten like this.
2096  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: November 22, 2022, 10:30:30 PM

LeBron may not be what he used to be, but I still think he's king. Currently, the Los Angeles Lakers are standing with Anthony Davis in the last 3 games in his absence, but he will be more effective when he comes back. They had a three-game winning streak and now they have an away streak to play. If they manage to win in these matches, they will have a chance to play off, but it is very difficult to talk about the championship.

Anthony Davis is doing great again and the Lakers fans are celebrating because this is how they want it to be when AD playing like how he used to be in his prime, they are hard to beat, and actually this is good for them since they are focusing on him despite the others are saying that he is now prone to injury. LBJ seems a good addition in this kind of play by the Lakers but let's just hope that it won't change to streak loss when he back again because that would be a disaster and a huge regretful decision ever since they are on the momentum to regain back their rank as one of the contenders in the western conference.

I think they will lose again when Lebron James is back. Cheesy Lebron's main target this season is to gather as many points in order to surpass Kareem Abdul‑Jabbar's all-time scoring record. If he managed to surpass Jabbar's record this season which is very doable, Lebron can play team-first next season during which they will be Westbrook-free and have $47 million which is a lot to spend on new players.

Anthony Davis is having momentum right now, he plays better when he is given the space and priority. It will be short-lived though once Lebron return's as the ball-handler and decision-maker.

Says who?  Look at his team he NEEDS to score if they are going to win.  They are starting people like Austin Reaves at the 2 lol.  Lebron has never been a selfish player he always dishes the ball and has made the right plays in his career.  For most of his career he was always the best player on the court so yeah he should get the majority of the shots.

A few days ago, Elon Musk responded to a friend's tweet saying that the price of BTC may increase by the end of winter.  He also asked everyone to be patient.  It means that the future of BTCL is very bright and its price will increase.  We are all waiting for this winter to end and the market to return to its previous form.  InshaAllah the price of BTC and digital currency will return to the previous room thanks

Who cares what elon musk thinks.  He doesn't know just like everyone else when bitcoin price will rise.  He can effect things like altcoin (doge) prices because of the volume it had when he leaned in on it.  He has no bearing over bitcoin price and people need to stop following his every word.  Think for yourself what makes sense on past rise and falls.

USA 1 - 0 Wales
USA has scored, one goal against Wales. USA plays more than Wales in all ramifications.
The match is getting more interesting now. Wales managed to get a few goal chances, but failed to score an equalizer. But there is always hope for a draw in this match because it looks like USA will try to defend this victory.

Now the match is tied at 1-1. The first half was completely boring. I did not see a tendency to attack or score goals among the players of any team. But in the second half the match became enjoyable. The players of both the teams tried hard to score. And both teams played well. Bale scored from the penalty in the 82nd minute of the match. They will play for another 10 minutes. But I think both teams will be happy with a draw. No team will want to admit defeat in the first match.

I don't think the US would just like to settle for a draw but they eventually did.  Good to pick up a point but the wales/eng, US/England score might end up being huge in trs of who could grab the second spot.  Not optimal but better than dropping the match to Wales.

The England game was a complete stinker of a game but this Netherlands-Senegal game has been entertaining.  Surprised Netherlands hasn't put one through yet.  10 minutes left and Senegal just had a great opportunity.

What's everyone's thoughts on the US game later today?
