1181  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 17, 2023, 08:55:53 PM

Well, it's official.

Ja Morant has be suspended for 25 games: https://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/37863825/sources-grizzlies-ja-morant-suspended-25-games-nba

In my opinion, he got lucky. Many outlets spoke of a much higher punishment, even up to 1 season. The number which circulated the most was 30 games. So now it's "just" 25 games, seems like a good deal for him.

If he will learn something from the whole situation is a different story, der Grizzlies can only hope he does.
This will definitely harm Memphis to play without him in the first 30% of the season, at least they don't have to pay him for that time I guess.  Grin

How many games did Morant miss because of his first suspension? It seems like only 8 games. In my opinion, the NBA management is too soft on him because another 25-game suspension won't make him more responsible. As for the Grizzlies, the only good thing for them is that they'll be able to save about $10 million because of this Morant suspension next season.
Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Morant fools around again next season. In that case, the Grizzlies will probably run out of patience.

Exactly, this is still wanted or needed Ja Morant in the NBA, and so as much his behavior is not accepted in pro ranks, not just in basketball, the NBA commissioner needs Ja for viewership and I think that's what the critics of Adam Silver is saying about him and obviously the punishment is too soft.

It's just a question on what if Ja Morant violated again?

Is he willing to banish him from the league or just another suspension. Money wise this is nothing to Ja as he still has the Nike sponsorship if I'm not mistaken.

The sponsorship goes along with the person.  Meaning if he screws around again Nike will probably drop him.  In the world we live in today and cancel culture people will start boycotting brands that defend what people perceive as "not good".  We were all young and screwd around not making excuses but when ypu are young you make dumb mistakes.  It's not the mistake that defines ypu its how you respond afterwards.  It's up to ja at this point because dude has the world in his hand if he wanted it.

I see ETH to become next blessing in disguise, I remember when it was around $100 people condemned it not to go anywhere within the space of a month interval ETH shuck the price in 500% increase and today is about $1800 let's watch and see ETH will create unbreakable records, channel some useless coins you have to ETH and relax in future.

I mean same could be said for bitcoin.  But you are on the right track.  Dump some of the more useless coins and put them into coins like eth and bitcoin who will end up driving the market.  Any reason you think eth this time around or you just think because last time it killed it that this time it will too?

Anyone watch the US vs Mexico game last night in the Concacaf semi.  Great game from the US side but it got ugly.  Bad blood between the 2 teams came out hopefully this is a start to something bigger.  Hope they somehow align them so it's a possibility they end up playing in the knockout stages against each other.

It's a good thing he sells tickets.  I firmly believe anyone else who is just a role player gets a year.  This is an entertainment league and ja is one the the more entertaining players.  It's unfortunate but that's how it is.  Dude better grow up quick otherwise he will work his way into being blackballed by the owners and not able to sign.
1185  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is There A Time That You Calculated All Your loses In One Year on: June 16, 2023, 04:46:25 PM
Honestly unless it's to offset wins for tax purposes I never want to see that lol.  Probably should because it will show me possibly where I go off the rails to stay away from those sports.  But because I just do it for fun I don't see a sense in that either way.  Probably too depressing as well 😀

^ Dwight Howard said he would love to come off the bench for the Kings and help them win. I think on a good contract he’s probably a nice addition to the team. The Kings to me seem like they’re being well coached these days but their roster definitely leaves room for improvement. They’re just never able to lure free agents to Sacramento.

Dwight Howard is a good addition to the Kings but he needs to accept a contract where there is no guarantee for his playing time. Dwight can be a mentor and has some tricks to teach the Kings' big men. The Kings also need deep playoff experienced players and Dwight has it.

These days, nearly all of the NBA teams are capable of reaching the playoffs. There are a handful of good players testing the free agency market this season so I expect most NBA teams have their eyes on them. So indeed, the Kings will have a hard time luring stars to their team.

At this point he might only see ~10 minutes a game.  Good bench player ypu can tap into but kings need something more than an 8/9 guy off the bench.  They are one more big player away from really contending.  I like the fox, sabonis duo going forward.

I'm always usually excited after the season is over for the draft and than the summer league games but the Knicks don't have a first round pick this year Sad

Looks like wemby won't be starting his career off in Vegas.  That's one of the better summer leagues and San Antonio isn't going to Vegas this summer.  What other players are people excited to see come the summer league?
1188  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: If I have 1BTC So how did I use to invest in different Coins on: June 15, 2023, 06:15:30 PM
I usually Invest a very small amount of bitcoin to another coin because I know this time is very crucial to invest in any new coin or even in an old coin.
Any suggestion from your side which is good for long term

I would assume you then have much more than 1bitcoin in your portfolio.  If not than I would move that bitcoin anywhere and just keep it.  The market is too volatile right now to put it into anymore altcoins.  You never want to have an unbalanced portfolio of alts to btc.  I'd recommend a small fraction if your total go into these alts.
1189  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: what is your opinion on shikoku inu? on: June 15, 2023, 06:13:25 PM
I don't know anything about it but why in the world would another dog coin be good for anything than just a pump and dump.  The fact that meme coins are a thing is rediculous to begin with but copycat memecoins?  Are people serious lol.
1190  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 15, 2023, 04:36:16 PM
The Chicago Bulls are not expecting Lonzo Ball to be back again, third knee surgery, that's something the management doesn't like.

There's no team that likes it when a player can't play for an extended period of time because of injuries. I recently heard the news that Lonzo might miss most of next season because of this surgery, and that's too bad because the Bulls' management will run out of patience sooner or later. Honestly, Lonzo reminds me of guys like Brandon Roy and Greg Oden, who had good potential but were forced to end their NBA careers too early.

I missed Brandon Roy and always wonder if he was able to continue his career. Lonzo hasn't proven anything to carry a team yet just like Oden. Nonetheless, Chicago Bulls might need to change something big. I hope they won't start to zero again because that's a big waste.

LaVine earlier wanted to exit but he is still under contract. If LaVine is happy to stay then the Bulls need to make big trades and build around him. I am not a big fan of LaVine because a part of me believes that the star is unlike the other NBA stars that are capable of uplifting their teams. Still, the Bulls need to let go of Vucevic or Lonzo, or even DeRozan too because the combo failed to work.

Brandon Roy was on his way to super stardom.  Knee injuries are the worst for nba because of the lateral movement required to compete at a high level.  All those guys can shot the lights out it's the ones that can maneuver in the pain and create space are the ones that stick out.  Wish I could have seen his career play out.  Portland seems cursed almost.

So I've been trying to tally up my seasons wins amd losses and it's looking Dead even almost which I guess is a win lol. Had some really good stretches this year but nothing too crazy.  Honestly won mostly with the Knicks this year did well with the jalen brunson props which were underestimated in the beginning of the year.  Kind of sad basketball goes away for a little bit Sad  oh well bring on nfl!
1192  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Easy or hard to quit? on: June 13, 2023, 09:31:19 PM
Can you quit gambling if you make a life changing money and never go back to gambling?

I asked this because those who made some money through gambling near me always go back to gamble and they end up losing everything they once made through gambling.

Is it fine to say that people should not go back into gambling once they made high amount of money? Because the chance of losing that money again is very high, even if they don't use all the money to gamble at once, gambling can take it all back in time.

Have you ever won a high amount of money from gambling and managed to not lose them all back to gambling? And to date, you are still gambling?

It's rare.  Most people who gamble don't even do it for the money it's the rush of having action on something.  If you win a ton of money it just means more action!  Seriously I haven't met anyone who hit big who just up and left and never laid another bet down on the table.  Kudos to those who do I guess if the end goal was a certain dollar amount.
1193  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on: June 13, 2023, 09:29:22 PM
Who do you think will win this Women's World Cup? Will it be the US again?
I am interested on the group B matches. And I am going to support Nigeria to the maximum level. And I don't think USA will take the cup this time. Since we are here predict who will the cup this time, I will will say Nigeria will take the cup. Because Nigeria women football team is better than the men counterpart. So I will not be surprised for them to win the tournament. Therefore I will be follow up the this match to the end.

I mean they are currently ranked 40th in the world.  I'm not saying that is the end all be all but they are going to have to come through a ton of upsets the entire way.  They will be the underdog in every game if they get put of the group stages.  Not that it can't be done but I wouldn't throw any money on it.

I assume that you would be willing to trade/sell directly from this site amd not have to use another site like telegram, discord etc.  And the key component to all of this is if you are willing to use a trusted escrow agent here on this site.  Any deals made here are done using escrow here from bitcointalk.  If not you can probably delete this thread as you won't get any traction.  This is how scams are typically listed.
1195  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2023 NBA Season on: June 13, 2023, 09:22:56 PM
Dude, I really like KCP.

He's been traded after winning the title with Lakers and now he's with the Denver Nuggets. I hope that he won't be traded again and he's good to stay with his team. They've got a chemistry and he's always there when he's needed on those important minutes of the game.

The Nuggets' management will make a big mistake if they don't keep their current roster for at least one more season. As for KCP, he's under contract with the Nuggets until the end of the 24/25 season. So I wouldn't worry about him because he will most likely be with the Nuggets.
Anyway, the season is officially over, and now it's offseason time. I even wonder if there will be any major trades between other teams this summer or not.
I think they need one more player to be even better, I'm thinking someone like Doncic would fit them perfectly he is good friend with Jokic and I think he would thrive in Nuggets. With that happening I see them win couple of championships more.

Lol how would you think that is even possible?  In order to get doncic they would probably need to part with jokic.  That is some nba2k wish list type team.  Dallas isn't going to part with doncic unless it would be for an insane package back.  Why would Denver gut theor team that just dominated the season wire to wire.  You go with your core that got you there and sprinkle in some bench players.  Oh amd then there is that thing called a salary cap..
1196  Economy / Economics / Re: Why do people stay poor? on: June 12, 2023, 09:16:40 PM
There is no release answer to that.  It could be the area they live in there isn't enough opportunities to male it out of being poor.  Some cases people make good money but end up living over their means always spending more than they can make.  Debt will cripple people.  Amd then another big one is addiction, doesn't matter what addiction but that can ruin people's lives and keep them down.
1197  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: BTC or altcoin on: June 12, 2023, 09:14:28 PM
I recently made some money through Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing, and I'm considering using it to purchase some Bitcoin. Only a tiny sum, roughly $800, is involved. What do you suggest doing right now? Purchase some Bitcoin or another cryptocurrency with a promising future.

What replacement coins would you recommend?

If you don't have any bitcoin your answer should always be bitcoin.  I'd work on compiling some bitcoin and then slowly getting into alts.  Depending on where ypu go with alts you could end up losing your entire stack real quick.  Don't get lured in by all the promises of hitting it big on your first go around.
1198  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How Confident Are you With Altcoin In This Time on: June 12, 2023, 09:12:20 PM
As long as greed exists than alts will be just fine in the next bullrun.  Inherently good or bad people latch onto alts thinking they are going to ride it up like the bitcoiners did back in 2010.  Only to be mostly disappointed if they end up holding the bag all the way up then all the way down. Alts will be fine.
1199  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: NBA 2020-2021 betting on: June 12, 2023, 07:14:23 PM
As you know Heat finished the regular season in 7th place in the Eastern Conference. As a result not many people including me were giving them a chance to have a run like this. Butler has done the biggest work in this time period by scoring a lot of points and carrying his team. He has become like Lakers' Lebron or Warriors' Curry.

Therefore Butler needs to be aware of the seriousness of the situation and do something.

I'm guilty about that as well because at first, I didn't have that much confidence towards the Heat especially in the first round where they faced the New York Knicks which they eventually defeated but in the second round, it was almost impossible for me to believe that they can defeat the #1 seed in the East which they did as well. But in the conference finals, that's when I have put my faith in them and it turns out profitable because they managed to eliminate the Celtics and almost swept them after having a 3-0 advantage.

I doubted them through every series.  Of the series I thought they could win was the Celtics one because they match up well against them.  They got help with giannis getting hurt in game one.  But this one might end up being a quick 5 game gentlemen sweep.  I'm leaning hard on Denver all the way through.  No answer for jokic.  And if Murray is on forget it no chance.

It's not that totally unfair where we can say that they got helped from Giannis getting hurt in Game 1 which eventually leaded to certain games of unavailability because the Miami Heat also have their own handicap as Herro and Oladipo's absence really gave the team some troubles too instead of having a much higher win rate per game in a specific series. I mean, look at them now, they surely needed someone who can also handle defense and give some offense but even if Tyler Herro is already available, it's not a wise move to insert him to the team in this phase.

Herro needs to be a two-way player here, but coming from an injury it will be a big risk for him.

I think if coach Spo will use him in game 5, he will be more on a decoy to give space for the shooters, I mean Nuggets might be
more aggressive here forcing to end the series at home.

Herro needs to be more careful to avoid from suffering with another injury, though in the back of my head, I would love to see
the competitiveness of this kid,.

Can't hurt to throw him out there.  You will see within 2-3 minutes what he looks like.  Play him early with a short leash.  They are gonna have to throw the kitchen sink at Denver to stop them.  In the end I got Denver-9.  I know Miami will be battling but the talent levels are just to much for Miami to handle.
1200  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: It's on! 2024 US Presidential Election Biden+Harris Vs Trump Bitcoin betting.... on: June 12, 2023, 07:11:14 PM
But from what I see, gamblers give DeSantis less chance than a week ago

Actually, the chances of all of them above have dropped a little bit since a week ago. Do people think that someone else apart from the trio will have more chances eventually?

I am not surprised. Ron DeSantis is unable to gain any momentum so far in the race. Even the launch of his campaign in Twitter got botched up (due to some technical issues from the part of Twitter). His numbers are more or less the same before and after the announcement. In short, he didn't got any boost after he launched his campaign. It was expected that he will be able to rally the anti-Trump faction within the GOP. But that hasn't happened. That faction is still split, with Haley, Scott, Ramaswamy and Pence still polling numbers that are not too insignificant.

Ron DeSantis is still referring to the Ukraine-Russia war as a "territorial dispute". That's one big mistake of his that I can see, but it's very likely that there are more. American people support Ukraine in their majority, and they want Ukraine to succeed in its war against Russia, meaning, taking its territories back. Nikki Haley, a member of the Republican Party, criticizing DeSantis for his stance on the matter, may start getting more sympathy from Republicans in the future, so I place a small bet on her while the odds are still pretty good

She has a strong foreign policy history as well.  The country could steer itself into getting a women in charge as well as most want to see change and there is yet another drastic change to see if it will change things.  Not a bad bet right now her name will definitely heat up as this gets going.
