2081  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Engineer Updat: GOLDSTRIKE™ I Packaged chips and system board assembly on: January 01, 2014, 03:31:31 AM
$6k for 2TH in April means I should probably pick one of these up once they are verified in customer hands.
I've got a CT order for January, and the gear is looking sexy indeed. But I agree with your initial price comment about the current prices.

April pricing being the same as March pricing does seem "off", but it's still better than CoinCraft and in line with KNC's pricing.

No arguments with accumulating (and profiting with) Antminer 180GHs for the time-being; that's exactly what I've been doing since they became available, but starting to look ahead for Q1 purchases based on currently available information.

Given that KNC is a personal non-starter for electrical reasons, other than Bitmain, CoinTerra seems like the way to go. Still keeping an eye on Black Arrow and will see how that stuff shakes out with their resellers once they start shipping - Have no desire to deal with Black Arrow directly with their current CS infrastructure.
2082  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Topic on: December 31, 2013, 08:11:24 PM
WRT offtopic, things which are not at all related to the buying and selling of hardware— including garbage like posting pictures of various peoples family member and other grade-school rubbish are offtopic and they're going to get moved. If you don't like it, stay the @#$@ out of the subforum.

 But doxxing... Doxxing is OK.
2083  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: CoinTerra Engineer Updat: GOLDSTRIKE™ I Packaged chips and system board assembly on: December 31, 2013, 08:07:53 PM
Nice work ! Adjust your March pricing to be competitive and you'll have a sale !

EDIT: I'm a tard. Was thinking of Coincraft. Not CoinTerra. Sincere apologies.

2084  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HashFast announces specs for new ASIC: 400GH/s on: December 31, 2013, 08:06:12 PM
Why does this feel like BFL all over again...

Probably because it appears to be an evolution of the formula.
2085  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: New Topic on: December 31, 2013, 07:48:54 PM
And since many mods are probably "invested" in these scams, what else to expect?
Wait.  I can get paid for our communities inability to keep from getting itself ripped off???

You said it. It's genuinely silly to think we have a social contract with the owners and moderators of this forum !

Wanted to place an order for 2TH, but $12k for a March delivery is not price competitive at all Sad
++1  I am also looking for a 1.5 - 3.0 machine.  But march is like a dog year away.

Looking to purchase another 2TH for delivery in Q1 myself.

-Black Arrow is out due to having a horrible customer service experience
-HashFast is out due to their shenanigans
-Coincraft March pricing does not make sense
-KNC 3TH won't run in my household on a single circuit / No 28nm products presently available for purchase
 -LOL @ Avalon Gen2
-Waiting to see what ASICMiner does with their Gen3
 -Current Bitfury pricing is insulting
 -BFL is out on principle

I mean thank God for Bitmain, but the options aren't looking good at the moment.

 So, I wait Sad

Ya the American companies are WAY behind if we're keeping score.  If I ever decide to order mining hardware it sure as fuck will not be from an American manufacture my BTC would be going to the EU in a heart beat.

<soapbox>

The idea of American exceptionalism is completely non-applicable for US Bitcoin mining manufacturers Sad

You will be exceptionally screwed-over dealing with any of them.

As a proud American, this causes a degree on consternation Sad

2089  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: BFL New Prices on: December 31, 2013, 02:00:22 PM
They shafted their most important customer base - those who "invest" into BFL, believe in them. The least they could do is even attempt to compensate for this.

But but... You're getting free water-cooling as compensation.

Are you not happy with that ?!

Does Bitmain have plans for T-hash level Antminer i wonder ? or 500 Ghash...

I've sent them a couple PM's that have gone unanswered inquiring about the same thing Sad

Either way, can't wait to see what they come up with next and can appreciate their need to keep a lid on future plans.

did old pre-order ppl get shafted on the new monarch price??
Considering the Monarch is still in development and has not yet been shipped, I would hope Butterfly Labs will do the honorable thing and refund the cost difference to all of their current pre-order holders.
Fat chance of that ever happening. My money is on getting struck by lightening first than that ever occurring.

Given the updated pricing, at the very least, it should seem reasonable that current pre-orders will be compensated with two additional Monarchs for every unit ordered prior to December 30th, 2013, if the cost difference is not refunded.

2093  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ANTMINER - WORTH IT? on: December 30, 2013, 08:30:24 PM
You're saying 8GH/s is worthless?
Depends on what you pay for it. Either way, 8GHs is not a significant amount of hash rate presently Sad
It might not be a bad idea to forego mining altogether, and just purchase BTC outright with whatever you were going to spend on mining equipment.
I'm paying 150 pounds plus shipping for it.

Apologies for being blunt, but it's not worth it to get into mining with 150 pounds to spend IMO.

2095  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Mining with CEX.IO or why do I not believe skeptics on: December 30, 2013, 08:04:03 PM
So the reason why I left Cex, is because I don't trust them to add hashpower to the market efficiently in a way that has a minimal effect on the price.

I just don't trust them. Period Sad

Was "fun" mining there for a while, but felt like I was mining for a crime syndicate or cartel for some-odd reason Sad

Not to mention I had genuine issues with not being able to properly sort workers alphabetically, hide old/retired workers, and set payout thresholds. Either way, back to supporting BTCG after ghash.io added that massive block of hash power recently.

I guess now we know where all the Bitfury chips have been going for the last couple months Sad

 *sigh*
2096  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: ANTMINER - WORTH IT? on: December 30, 2013, 04:42:31 PM
IMO, you can't go wrong with purchasing a single 180GHs Antminer right now. I currently own a number of them with more on order, and have been very happy with them.

I would recommend avoiding anything Butterfly Labs entirely.

Furthermore, I would recommend avoiding anything using the Avalon Gen2 chips.

Standard 6-pin pcie power?  How much power draw per board?
Stock clocks at 5.5 or what speeds are they running at?  Fans?

- Standard 6 pin PCIe connector
- Don't have one plugged in right now to test, but I believe these were pulling just north of 60 Watts @ 325MHz doing ~5GHs
- Stock clocks @ 282MHz
- I would recommend powering the fans off a molex connector instead of the headers on the board. The K16's have issues initializing properly with the 3-pin power connector plugged in
2099  Economy / Computer hardware / [Sold] 0 x Liquid Synergy Design K16's Available - USA Only - 0.1 BTC each on: December 30, 2013, 07:06:42 AM
Have a number of these that are collecting dust in my garage since taking delivery of newer hardware.

0.2 0.15 0.1 BTC each shipping inclusive. All in perfect working order. Will ship with the K16 and the USB cable.

Shipping to continental United States only.

Cedivad seems to be the only one with the cojones to actually sue.
It's not a question of courage. It's a question of expected return.

This is ultimately the reason I ended up not suing Butterfly Labs over their shenanigans with my orders.

Actually spent the refund money on a lawyer, and recognized that it would be throwing good money after bad to fight off a baseless Defamation Countersuit in addition to my Breach of Contract Lawsuit.

It just wasn't worth it after considering the variables, and used it as a learning experience to never deal with pre-orders in Bitcoin space, and to never trust Butterfly Labs or Josh Zerlan ever again.

If I can steer one person away from purchasing a product from Butterfly Labs, it will have all been worth it.

Hashfast seems to be even more dishonest by the looks of it, and that's the stunning part.

What I wouldn't give for an honest and reliable manufacturer here Stateside so I could "Buy American". As it stands right now, every American-based company attempting to manufacture Bitcoin mining hardware has redefined legal conniving business practices.

It's just pitifully sad Sad
