2121  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker talk - Specifically Hold'em - Hands and or strategy on: January 08, 2020, 07:08:25 PM
I was originally just planning on talking about how whatever your strategy is, no matter how much you plan there is still a weak link - and it's the player. I got on this thought as I was playing the other day, and got into that mind set of my bets and bluffs just couldn't miss. Had a pretty good run on taking blinds and chipping up after a good hand where I was just behind. Then I went loose on my range and just pushed a pure bluff, pre-flop and got caught. Had to fold the hand as they had me covered and jammed, this left me nearly crippled and I just couldn't recover.

It was in doing a bit of hand analysis - this one didn't take long - that I thought about sharing poker stories here. I've been playing a lot lately, mostly tournaments. So I figured I would gauge interest in sharing some more interesting hands, like key double ups, or beats both bad and deserved. Finally the hands that get me eliminated, often these won't be anything of interest as they will be an all-in from short stack, but I've had some beauties over the years that I didn't see coming.

It would depend on the week but I generally play 3 or 4 nights a week depending on my work schedule, and would maybe make a post or 2. I know it's not the general gambling discussion that goes on, but figured there's gotta be a few people who may take an interest.

I would also totally welcome others to post their tales. By the way I'm not pro, I play micro-low stakes, and just really enjoy playing (ignore those 20 seconds after some hands) and trying to improve.
Because of just one caught on bluff doesn't mean it has ruined your plan or gaming quality. It's better to sit on regular tables (not on fast forward or turbo) and play with players that have decent money cause more likely they'll play on long term (personally I think so from my experience). During bluff, the best thing to do is to manage when to show your cards (muck) and by this way decide what to show them: You had good cards and lost, you had bad cards but still follow the game (bluff).
But of course bluff is useless against good cards, gambling of poker in real life is a whole better experience cause it's easier to understand other's emotions, despite the fact that they may fake it, if you are great at it, you'll see fake emotions and use it for you.
2122  Economy / Economics / Re: Since 2009 There Was A 500% Increase In Internet Traffic. on: January 08, 2020, 02:01:23 PM
I have no idea why people put word blockchain in everything, it looks like blockchain is a magic word that's used instead of Abracadabra, I wouldn't even be surprised if magicians say Blockchain while doing tricks. I think that increase mostly comes from former Soviet Republics because in these countries, a lot of people don't had access on PC and internet, there was DSL in most of these countries for a long time and we can say that fiber is new for them.
Also in some countries internet is expensive but at the same time there is a huge bandwidth usage because of pirate websites (multiple upload of different movies, games and etc for each website).
2123  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin have a price increase before the halving like we saw in 2016? on: January 08, 2020, 01:00:57 PM
In 2016 the halving was early July.  Depending on the exchange, the price was as follows:

May 1, 2016 $453
June 1, 2016 $536
July 1, 2016 just before the halving $677

The price increased about 50% from May 1 to July 1 just before the halving event.

Should we expect something similar this time?
I would say that according to statistics, bitcoin's price was stable before halving and even after that for a while. Actual rise started in November, after 3-4 months from halving it went from 600$ to 700$ and then went up and up, we had amazing rise, this process for me was like a rush of dopamine. Price rise didn't start in May because you have to consider that a lot of things happened at that time, for example hashocean had scam exit and believe me a lot of people had invested there, because of this scam everyone thought that they would sell their coins in a hurry and price would decrease. There were still a lot of moments to remember from previous halving.
Personally I would say that we will see clear picture after some months from halving, not right now or not right the day after halving.
2124  Other / Meta / Re: How about a merit faucet / puzzle? on: January 08, 2020, 11:43:27 AM
So you want to make stimuli for them to learn more about bitcoin, yeah? To be fair if you want to learn, you'll learn, just google anything you wish and you'll find a lot of answers, just ask on this forum and you'll get responses too. Personally I can say that in Development & Technical Discussion section achow101 has never left me without full answer, I appreciate that.
I have also seen one newbie who was receiving merits like rain because of his very, very high quality posts, he gained attention in the beginning when merit was implemented, can't remember that user. So what I want to say is that idea is still ok but it won't push newbies to try to rank up. Shit poster = shit poster, no matter what. You can't make child intelligent by giving chocolate if he/she gets good marks cause he/she prefers to put less afford and be left without reward.
2125  Economy / Speculation / Re: Return of the bull? on: January 07, 2020, 03:48:41 PM
Bitcoin is silently pushing up for the past few days, what could be the reason, could it be because of the halving coming up later or that the bulls are back in town.
It's very, very hard to say exact reason because as you see in past we has rise from 7-9k to 13k but finally what we got is fall up to 7k and we are stuck in this price. I didn't know if price went from 7000 to 7800, just got it from your news but personally I don't feel optimistic right now and can't say this is the start of bull run or that's happening because of upcoming halving cause in past, we always had rises after halving, not before that (on last halving price was stable 600$ for a while and it started rise after 1-2 months of halving).

2126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: John McAfee backs out of his $1 million bitcoin prediction on: January 07, 2020, 01:54:26 PM
It's pretty interesting to read comments that are left on his twitter, his statement about his promise:
Quote
Wake the fuck up. What idiot thinks anyone is going to eat their own dick ever? Especially in TV!! Are you that idiot?  God ..  I hope none of my followers are that stupid.

But also the most curious thing is that McAfee agrees that Craig Wright is the author of bitcoin's white paper but not actually satoshi, he also states that team behind btc was group of eleven people that includes Dr Adam Back, Craig Wright and others while also claiming that he knows who is satoshi and if he don't reveal himself, then McAfee will do. Would love to see Craig Wright's response on McAfee's comment.
2127  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Nice ideas that can be really good on: January 06, 2020, 09:08:09 PM
Do you mean virtual walk similar of Google' Street view? Or do you mean camera that goes on and on and shows you what happens in 24/7?
That idea is great for educational purposes but I highly doubt you'll find investor, the best thing is to get such thing done via collaboration with government cause usually they are seeking for similar projects and are willing to invest in it.
What you say is unprofitable so hopes of finding investor may be wasted, no profit - no interest in project. When you are looking for investors, you have to make him sure that this is the right project to invest and this project is better than others, this will bring better profit than other one. But in this project you can't make sure investor that it will bring profit because in reality this project is unprofitable and can be released only for educational purposes.

I think you have to add * batch on Crypto-Games and Yolodice signature campaigns cause they have some bonuses (different ones but still bonuses).
2129  Economy / Reputation / Re: What if Theymos would Reset Reputation now? on: January 05, 2020, 11:16:02 AM
Imagine if Theymos would just reset everyone reputation...

All the 'dt fun talk' would be gone along with red and green trust   Shocked

It is like taking all the toys from kids  Grin
That "fun" would be gone but at the same time what about a lot of people who were tagged for scams? Those feedbacks mustn't be removed or it will be chaos again and I would forget trading there (but luckily I remember name of a lot of trustworthy people).
Btw it will be curious to imagine what will happen around QuickSeller? Game-Protect? Cause they have a lot of negative feedbacks.
But would be good experiment to do that for some days: 1. Remove all negative trust 2. Remove all positive trust 3. Remove all trust

But now imagine this: We removed all trust that means people have to build trust from zero. Will people repeat the same mistakes or will everyone try their best to build positive trust feedback? (Maybe they'll in order to make more massive scam).
2130  Economy / Economics / Re: How the situation in Iran might impact Bitcoin on: January 05, 2020, 10:40:06 AM
Before people quote the 29 grand bitcoin price let us reflect on the fact that in many places with shaky money there's an official exchange rate to the dollar and then there's the REAL one which is often several times less.

Not sure what the deal is in Iran with that but I'll bet that's a factor and possible instant debunk.
There is absolutely the same situation that you described, countries with weak national currency have dual exchange rate: 1. Governmental and 2nd - real one in street. On cointelegraph there was an article published that bitcoin price is 24000 USD in Iran, I got amazed at some point because of so huge difference but situation is different and like you said: Official exchange rate of USD/IRR = 42,025 while unofficial exchange rate (rate among people) is 13830 IRR. It's a huge difference.
So we couldn't say that at the moment any situation that's going in Iran had impact on bitcoin's price, maybe on my heart after reading that I could potentially sell bitcoin up to 24K price.
2131  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to know if a bitcoin trading is worth trusting? on: January 04, 2020, 09:24:24 PM
Hello all,

I am new to this whole bitcoin thing and know very little about it.

A few days ago I got added to a Telegram group which is run by a bitcoin & binary trader.

I am being proposed 100% ROI, with the trader claiming 95%+ success rate.

If I invest $500, I will get back $5000 within 5 days.

So, my question is - how do I know if this is legit or not before investing?

Their fees would be 15%.

Thanks
It's very funny when someone claims that they earn a lot of money and ask you for some money from you and then promise that they'll give you higher reward. In your case the most funny fact is that person promises you 10x profit in 5 day. Now logically that person have to be very experienced trader for years and if he can profit up to 10x of invested capital in 5 days, then calculate: 500$ becomes 5000$ in 5 days, then 50 000 on 10th day, 500 000 on 15th day, 5 million on 20th day. So, everything is pretty clear.
The reason why I posted this instead of just saying "scam of course" is that I want you to know how you can just easily understand why this may be scam and how to avoid scam offers in future, always do calculation at first.
2132  Other / Meta / Re: Reported Posts - query on bad posts. on: January 04, 2020, 07:01:36 PM
I have 27 good, 1 bad, 1 unhandled reports. Well, 1 unhandled is ok but 1 bad isn't good cause personally I report threads that are really very curious to even exist on this forum and I'm very interested to know which one was bad report.

Can you tell us how many reports do you get daily on average?
2133  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Win a Lamborghini Huracan LP 580-2!! on: January 04, 2020, 03:05:05 PM
Hi guys, seems freebitco is still leading website and rewards aren't small at all but I have some questions that I didn't understand.
Website says that there is Bonus +0.00000378BTC added to all rewards but still I get basic 0.00000405 BTC payout in each roll.
Also it states:
1. increase your FREE BTC rewards by up to +0.00000513 BTC
2. 57.3814% achieved towards the next +0.00000027 BTC bonus!
I didn't understand why I don't get this rewards and is there any bar that fills to understand whether my lottery bought increases freeroll rewards?
Since it states that Bonus +0.00000378BTC is added to all rewards, why don't I get that?
2134  Economy / Economics / Re: Which currency will dominate the crypto market? Please vote! on: January 02, 2020, 10:20:25 PM
Maybe the currency which will dominate crypto market isn't currently released, who knows? Personally I think the dominant one will be the most secure and anonymous because this is the original feature behind crypto and it's one of the main idea of crypto existance.
So to sum up, I think monero will dominate the crypto market because as I see it's the most anonymous cryptocurrency as for now but grin coin is also another good promising coin.
2135  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who is Satoshi Nakamoto? on: January 02, 2020, 09:00:23 PM
You all just speculating about who is Satoshi Nakamoto ?

Well, to know who is Satoshi Nakamoto you must watch a film. A very funny film, that will explain about my condition and why I am unknown to everyone. I am not Faketoshi. I am the real man behind bitcoin. There are many other people who is claiming to be myself are Faketoshi. James Belal is Faketoshi. I will prove it soon, Tomorrow afternoon. If Bitcoin goes to the moon, many people will be lucky.

'I have more money than the federal reserve bank'. I have created 'World Bitcoin Reserve Bank'. It contained every fiat currency of the world.  Therefore, imagine- Bitcoin will become MacroBitcoin and each unit of Milli Bitcoin will become Bitcoin; then, you bitcoiners will fully believe in Bitcoin Big Bang. I was there when it happened. There was a Bitcoin Ripple.  Then Ethereum. Now, I have given Mark Zuckerberg to launch Libra but before that I have something else to launch. I am just stuck here, in side the crystal bottle.

I am fed up with coding, I am now planning to experiment my complex project next soon. I think, it will change the world for good. You all are doing great; discussing about me and my work even without knowing me. It is a bit strange for me, reading all of your comments  and arguments. You will know me tomorrow guys. I wish, I could meet you personally but that is not possible right now because the Gini has locked me inside the Bottle. I am looking for my magical cudgel to break the bottle and come out, so you all can see me and ask me questions  face to face, why have I created Bitcoin ? I will answer it with my own voice without an A.S.I.C. (Artificial Super Intelligence Clone.)

Best Regards from me. Read my language and you will recognise my voice. The lost sheeps know the shepherd's voice. You may think I am just joking but I am not joking. It depend up to your choice; if you can hear my inner voice after watching the funny movie bellow.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XMZ2pmJwU7c

Best wishes from Gizmo. Have a happy Gremlin new year.

It's pretty clear to know the reason why satoshi may be anonymous but what's wrong with you? At first it seems very funny when man is trying to claim himself that he is the real one, are we in sci-fi movie? Are you secret brother of Craig Wright?
Are you more rich than Walton's family? Can you buy their and also wealthiest families businesses along with Jeff Bezo's Bill Gates and other's businesses? It seems you have more money than FED and seems you can easily buy USA and we all bitcoin holders have debts of you. But why am I even writing to a fake person who has no idea what and why is he writing those things?
2136  Economy / Economics / Re: What if crypto vanishes? on: January 02, 2020, 08:15:20 PM
What will happen if crypto vanishes overnight or due to some or the other reason if crypto becomes inaccessible to public? I know this does not make sense as crypto will not vanish but still what if it happens? What about those huge chunk of investments made by whales and other investors?
No, it makes sense at some point because some countries may ban it, for example India plans to ban bitcoin but I believe they'll change their mind, it's not beneficial in any way.
The reason bitcoin can be vanished is following: It is used for money laundering and illegal activities, so if governments decide to ban it, they'll stick with this reason. But you know what will happen? Bitcoin may vanish but there will be something better and safer than bitcoin for such things and it will be 100x hard for them to detect and vanish so at least in near future they won't make any moves to my mind and so we can say that it doesn't make sense to vanish crypto. Btw it's still good thing to discuss, like when I read others' opinions.
2137  Economy / Gambling / Re: [Tower.bet] - Unique Crypto Gambling Site with Time Limited Events - $600 Event on: January 02, 2020, 08:05:12 PM
Thread was opened in 31 december, a day before new year so happy new year guys, it's good to see new bitcoin gambling website.
Seems duckdice team has grown up, it was a small dice website and now owns another website and operates it separately with different games, pretty good.
In overall website seems quite interesting with it's UI, your HI-LO game is amazing but if I were you, I would change design of crash game and would make it more interesting by adding some kind of animation and sound on crash.
2138  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading Tips for Traders here on: January 02, 2020, 06:50:45 PM
Before you begin read, I am not an expert nor am I here to turn anyone into professional. So the basic aim is to just add some sense that I was lacking when I started my trading career.

So for traders, all I say is follow these tips https://www.latinpost.com/articles/142690/20191123/tips-for-the-perfect-day-trading-strategy.htm, as I said these are some things that I was missing heavily in early phase of my career, so I hope youngsters can learn from it.
The first thing that people have to realize is that when you profit it's because another one loses and opposite. But now imagine there are 10 magical advice that guarantees to skyrocket your profit potential and everyone read that advice, so now what? Everyone will profit? No, you have to be smart among others in order to profit, you have to make them lose in order to profit and people have to realize that. Nothing to talk about emotion control and etc that somehow isn't mentioned on website, this is very beneficial and must to have.
2139  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Thought I got scammed but now what? on: January 02, 2020, 05:59:25 PM
Hey everyone-

I should start by saying I know VERY LITTLE about trading.
A little over a year ago, a trusted friend was referred to invest into a company who does the trading for you. She ended up getting a nice return and referred me. I was skeptical but because she was a trusted friend and had already received a return on her investment, I decided to give it a shot.
I invested several 1000's and then the company said they got hacked a couple months later.
Anyways, I figured I had been scammed and just let it go. But a week ago I just thought I'd email to see if I could get my return back.
I didn't expect a response but I got one.
So here I am now. They tried sending it to the blockchain address I created but I had no idea what I was doing and I received an email this morning that they (the company who does the trading) tried to send over the the transfer but the wallet address was not eligible.

They said my bitcoin wallet needs to be activated with company wallet.

Clearly I have no idea what that means and I also did not add any banking info, etc in my blockchain because the last thing I want is for my bank account to be compromised.

Can anyone help me figure this out so I can get my money back?

Thank you!
Trading is this: Buy low / sell high. So what they promised you is that they would do all of this actions with your money too, in overall they would collect big capital, profit for themselves and share some percent with you because of invested capital from you. But in reality all they do is nothing, pay first investors and leave last investors without money.
It's 100% scam that they said your bitcoin wallet needs to be activated with company wallet, I think they'll ask you to send some money on their company's address in order to verify your wallet so keep in mind that it is scam, never do that!
You can't get your money back.
2140  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Looking for sponsor partner on: January 02, 2020, 02:58:44 PM

Thinking of a new project now after your previous failed investment project?

Ok, let's disregard your previous proposal and look into the subject, the problem here is, crypto-related lotteries weren't able to create a big interest to the majority of crypto-enthusiast or gamblers, at least if we look at it generally.

In that case, sponsoring it is really a big risk. If you want to push for it, you need to spend tons of money on your own and target to make your site popular. Maybe it will catch the attention of your future business partners. Take note, there is even no assurance that it will yield a good result even if you will spend tons of money on advertisement.

But it Will attract visitors who all Want free money!
Yes, free lottery will attract visitors who are looking for free money but you have to ask yourself, do you need people who are looking for some cents for your business? I mean that such people are usually kids and for your business growth you need people with money, not faucet haunters (I don't insult anyone, just saying).
Also have you done research on crypto lottery market? Almost every project is dead, even those who started business earlier and who invested a lot of money in promotions so personally I am very skeptical regarding this.
