1321  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: does it really make sense trading on Bitcoin? on: December 01, 2020, 10:42:08 PM
Everyone has his own strategy when it comes to crypto and other assets. Always choose to do what you feel comfortable with Traders and holders are all needed in the Bitcoin ecosystem. I do more trading than holding and I still get some decent returns when things go well.
Some people prefer holding crypto for months or years because they have no time doing technical analysis and carrying out those daily trades. So it all comes down to one's personal preference.
They are both needed but I hate the culture of holding that turned into HODLing. People just save their bitcoins and don't touch it for months and even years, how good is that for bitcoin ecosystem? Imagine, you have a surplus of money and there are people who need it but you hold it and don't give it to users unless the demand skyrockets and price does the same, then you give away. Personally, I think that money and in this case, bitcoin has to be in massive circulation! I often say that and will repeat again. More holders is similar of being more banks that block the lending and deposit services.
1322  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A New Visa Credit Card Offers Bitcoin Rewards Instead of Miles or Cash on: December 01, 2020, 10:11:55 PM
This is the official kickstart of massive bitcoin adoption. Paypal + Visa + Mastercard (I heard that lately too but amn't sure whether it was true or not) <-- these are the major payment service providers, their audience includes hundred millions of people all over the world. Adoption from them means the majority of people who uses cards will know or have to hear things about cryptocurrencies.
Finally, the time comes when cryptos become massively adopted and acknowledged. That's great, it's amazing when so great things happen so quickly, competition will also make services 100x better but the problem that I see is that bitcoin becomes a victim of businessmen  Embarrassed
1323  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Should I use mixers? on: December 01, 2020, 08:03:02 PM
I hope everyone here knows what mixing services are, and for those who don't:

BTC mixers work as a medium, a medium that works like an escrow, gives you back your own coins but on your desired addresses and that too, from different places so for you to become non-traceable at your end. Now, these mixers don't know where these coins will be going to, so it's only you who knows about your coins, your addresses and your transactions.

So, what's the reason behind this thread?

Actually, most exchanges are reluctant to providing their users the authority of using mixers while depositing on their platform and I have heard so many news about exchanges stopping and freezing the account and some didn't even release the account as of today. I'm a privacy conscious person and would like to ask you whether I should still use mixers when depositing on an exchange or not.

I'd go through a checklist to ensure that you are making the optimal decision.

Check up on your particular exchange first. Do they have a historical record of suspending accounts that are suspected of using mixed coins? If yes, then consider whether or not you value privacy or the convenience of the exchange more. There is a real chance that you will never be able to use your account there again if you do get suspended. Coinbase comes to mind as one particular culprit - they love to suspend accounts on every possible suspicion.

If there is no historical record of this type of suspensions, mixers are certainly warranted to protect your privacy. Since CM and others offer their services for free anyway, it's worth using it. Just make sure that you still keep a record of all deposits and transactions for tax purposes.
What happens if I use two wallet. My main wallet is wallet A but I withdraw money from an exchange to wallet B without any 3rd parties but once I receive money on wallet B, I send it to wallet A that has changeable address too. In case I want super extra security, I send money from wallet A to another new primary address, call it wallet "Main A" and in this transaction, I use mixer. Chipmixer gives us the possibility to have chips with different stakes and as far as I know, you can keep them as long as you wish (not right? Then correct me). And then if I receive 1 bitcoin on mixer, I 'll divide it and sometimes send 0.4 btc, or 0.375.
I ask this because as I see some exchanges block addresses that use mixers, personally I have never had such issue with the mixers that I use. That's why I ask, how do you deal with this problem?
1324  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: If you are a gamer, come here! on: December 01, 2020, 06:05:42 PM
Are there any specifictions needed to have this kind of game?.
Also, you are trying to open a local store why not with the use of the cryptocurrency payment so still you can adopt the use of the blockchain? Is there a chance we can see the UI or the Beta of the website I just want to explore and try to recommend some bugs to fix if there's something
Still, I will watch this thread to have a future update, Looking forward to your team.
We consider to add cryptocurrencies without doubt and support it by offering some high discounts on games that won't damage our business. But I have no idea what Blockchain has to do with gaming, that's why I asked here, if anyone has some idea cause I often see threads where word blockchain is included almost everywhere but that's a lure in most cases, we don't want that.
You can't see the UI at the moment, apologize.

I only can think accepting cryptocurrency as payment method. But if you plan to host your own server (e.g. Minecraft server), you could use blockchain for transparency of rare/limited items.
Can you tell me if there are similar projects? And will it be something good and really beneficial? Idk...

OK first things first, the idea was good despite of having various flaws and questions that still needs to be solidified. Your idea is all about gaming, and with no integration of cryptocurrency nor blockchain at all. If you wanted to have some unique ideas, better implement crypto as mode of payment upon registration of a user's account. But, keep in mind that CLOUD GAMING is very expensive, and having brilliant ideas wouldn't give you certainty that Microsoft nor Nvidia would sponsor nor make a deal WITHOUT you providing a prototype with a full document of your concept. Lastly, if you wanted to be a 'gaming-haven platform', take the ideas of Steam and Riot Games as your primary competitor, as they have the same concept as you do, except the possible integration of crypto.
Yeah, I agree with you but we get huge grant, we should try to negotiate with them! Btw I love the marketing team of Riot Games, they are by far amazing, very unique and impressive method of marketing. Along with riot, I love the marketing of Raid: Shadow Legends, their ads are the only ones that I watch by pleasure.

What can the blockchain do in such a scenario? I expect it will not offer a lot of things or that you need to put in a lot of effort to make things work when you can do it using any of the traditional methods.
The best solution is to accept payments in cryptocurrencies while giving users an opportunity to earn them by promoting the site or playing some games and getting paid for them.
You can also create some funds that will enable individuals to increase their income by storing currencies in them.
To be fair, IDK what blockchain has to do here but still asking, if anyone has some idea. Btw you can feel free and offer other suggestions if you want.
We have some exciting ideas marketing and promotions.

You will need to decide if you want to be a web service (gaming, news, etc) or a local brick and mortar business.  Dividing time on both will hurt both.
Why will it hurt? There are a lot of business that offers you to buy things online and in real life at the same time. We may not open store in malls, idk but I think it won't hurt to have small store in gaming lounge like you see proteins and supplements in GYMs. We want to conquer both segments.

If I were you, I would've considered charging a small amount from others to also join those competitions [in this way, you're giving normal gamers a chance as well].
In idea, we plan to include both of them: Play more and get more scores to be included in top leaderboard + second one - pay some money to join a tournament + some other ideas.

As a gamer [real one] with some cloud gaming experience [IMHO, it wasn't the best experience], I prefer seeing you focus on something else than hoping for them to expand their servers near you.
That's amazing, thank you. Yeah, cloud gaming isn't at it's best right now but what about the future? Technologies develop rapidly, it's very hard to upgrade PC/Laptop very often + mining makes GPUs expensive, especially right now. Btw yeah, it will be hard or maybe impossible to have a deal with Microsoft or Nvidia but we should try.

I think the parts I've highlighted in red seem to contradict each other.
Vod had the same opinion, I answered him in this post.
1325  Other / Off-topic / Re: Income from Bitcoin investment on: December 01, 2020, 04:47:00 PM
The safe option doesn't exist, everything comes with risks: Pros and Cons. The safe option is to put your money on deposit and yeah, there are some companies that offer earning a small amount of fixed interest on your deposit. But what are the risks? It's possible that their wallets may be hacked and you won't get refunded. It's possible that service may turn into scam but the most important factor is that you'll get very low interest rate and according to rules of deposits, you won't be able to withdraw it anytime or you may lose some profit + you may miss the opportunity to buy/sell bitcoin when the price is low/high.
1326  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Gamblers! What is your excuse to avoid a game with 0% House Edge? on: November 30, 2020, 10:26:27 PM
First of all you should know that you can't exist with 0% house edge and if I were you, I would be glad that there are few or near to zero customers on website to not go bankrupt. Do you know what people want? Entertainment. Your website doesn't look attractive, it looks like the least thing where the player may want to play. You need team of developers, team of marketers, team of designers, etc. Just setting 0% house edge means nothing, some people even don't know what is the house edge, so... Your website and idea looks like when child wants to create casino from his/her knowledge and the ideas in the dream.
And, none casino can exist on 0% house edge. People have 1% and higher house edge and still cheat and imagine 0% house Cheesy
1327  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: A free land for bitcoin on: November 30, 2020, 09:43:01 PM
Is there any chance that we can find a place like Africa or island in pacific ocean to make bitcoin a totally legal currency?no shit from government.
As far as I know, we know the entire earth and there is nothing to discover, right? But there are still some researches in north pole and in this area there are places where not even governments go for research. Okay, the joke is joke.
Theymos had a similar idea, to build a mostly-sovereign libertarian seastead with early bitcoiners since they were a new wealthy elite. He even chose the company - seasteading.org for that project but seems he wasn't that much seriously interested in it (but still interested). I think that thread may sound interesting for you, so I'll leave the link: We should build a seastead
1328  Economy / Economics / Re: 2021 not Looking good on: November 30, 2020, 08:28:08 PM
2021 not Looking good!

Only things what could be good are Bitcoin and cryptocurrency
Other things dont look good!

The economy will go lowest i Think.

Becouse there is still some countries who operating quite normal like sweden, finland but 2021 I think they have to face reality

And I dont see that Central Banks will just recklessly print money anymore just to pump Up economy I think this time they will say no more free money we dont kill the currencies with inflation

I dont belive that money printing dream anymore
And I think the Central bankers are same realistic as I am.

Well, if you say so...
Hmm... Idk why but seems you haven't heard anything about covid vaccines that are 90% effective in treatment. How crypto can be a "good" and this vaccine - "don't look good"? Without doubt, this year was bad, upcoming years will be worse but not so long, at least this was the great lesson for future, we must learn on mistakes and there are moments when we haven't been in certain situations, we learn and develop.
Money printing only helps in certain situations. It can help me to escape today but tomorrow is another thing, here I have to fight 2x hardly than before, this is the huge disadvantage of immediate financial help. Imagine, you have loan in bank and pay percentages, then take another loan to pay the first one, more percentages, harder to pay.
1329  Economy / Gambling / Re: 1XBIT.COM ᐉ Bet online ᐉ BTC Betting ᐉ Online betting odds on: November 30, 2020, 08:01:51 PM
most of the players are not from this forum and we are lucky since we know this website pretty well. it looks like there's really a huge advertisement they are doing out of the forum there's no doubt that there's still many users are being scammed by this book maker.

If you don't do a simple research that can be done with a couple of clicks that's on you, you won't be able to remove all the risk but that way you'd at least minimize it, how can you gamble online using casino websites and at the same time don't know how to do some basic research using internet and search engines?

Just take a look at this screenshot, if you search "1xbit scam" on google this will come up as the first result and I believe it only took me 5 seconds to perform that action.
Whose fault is this? People don't do that "simple research" but they aren't lazy enough to register on website. Being a member of bitcointalk doesn't mean that we are lucky in this case, no, I wasn't member of bitcointalk for 2 years but was actively using this forum for research about some projects, same applies to reddit and other places, I register on website when I want active discussion. Even bitcointalk member will fall into a scam if he/she won't check facts and do some research. We are lucky because we know google that gives us the possibility to search anything online. Hope people will learn to do some research before using anything. Every product you buy comes with instructions, you have to search instructions yourself online.
1330  Bitcoin / Project Development / If you are a gamer, come here! on: November 28, 2020, 12:54:32 PM
Hi guys!
There is an upcoming gaming related project, at the moment it's a local project but your opinions and even global visions are highly appreciated for me.

~News~
The website and the platform will include gaming related news: What's happening in the gaming world, what games will be released soon, what kind of technologies are implemented, what innovations will be integrated into gaming, etc. Something similar to IGN, PCGamer...
Website will have news in order to get gamers up to date!

Gaming Lounge and parties
We plan to create a gaming lounge where users will be able to use the latest gaming consoles and personal computers. The environment will be amazing, very comfortable with VIP rooms, hookah, food and drinks (not alcohol). We will have amazing promotions for users. They'll be able to book a specific time when they plan to play, pay online and get rid of queue. On every playing session (1 hour), they'll collect scores. There will be a monthly leaderboard and those with the highest scores (with highest gaming hours) will be able to take part in different competitions and win prizes. But due to Covid, it won't be done at the moment.

Cloud Gaming
At the moment, price of GPUs have risen up and it's hard for people to get good GPU and all the component that's needed for amazing gaming experience. We are going to get in touch with Microsoft or Nvidia to place their servers in the local area and let users use their cloud mining services. People will be able to play their lovely games from any device.

Local Shop
We will open a local store where users will be able to buy gaming consoles, game disks and all the necessary equipment.

Website functions
1. Buy gaming products online
2. Book our and desired gaming lounge.
3. Get access on cloud gaming
4. Get in touch with daily game news.

But it's not what we only want at all.

Have you any idea about blockchain technologies and gaming?

We need innovations! If you have any suggestion, you are more than welcome!
1331  Other / Meta / Re: The Avatar would have to be optional in signature campaigns? on: November 27, 2020, 09:12:17 PM
Avatar is - personal image
Text under avatar is - personal text
Signature is - personal space

Home, Car, these are personal things but when you rent them, it means that a new person has the right to use it. So, when you want to apply in sig campaign, they have the right to request to get your sig, avatar and personal text place. They ask you for this, no one pushes you to rent any space that belongs to you.

Btw I want to tell you one great fact about avatar and signature space. When I see posts that are written by our members who wear sportsbet avatar and chipmixer space, my brain has memorized and automatically understands that these should be high-quality posters and their posts deserve more attention from me. So, it has some cons for me...
1332  Economy / Economics / Re: Fiat currency based economy Question on: November 27, 2020, 08:12:11 PM
Have you heard in your entire life that less economic activity means less economic growth? Less economic growth means that life will develop in lower rate. When GDP falls, people lose jobs and their income decrease or gets non-existent. When people lose job and income, they depend on their savings. Savings can't last forever. Also, some economists say that if we increasing inequality, i.e. richers will have to pay high taxes, it will also cause the decrease of economic growth (but I don't think so). Well, fiat isn't a winner there, it's truly shown that bitcoin succeed in the worst moment, when there was 0 hope in currencies, btc shined.
1333  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Viabtc Cloud Mining, read before you buy. on: November 27, 2020, 07:22:19 PM
This is what I wanted to write, thank you for making things brighter for society. It's sad but people don't ask this question to themselves: Why mining company offers cloud mining when they can mine for themselves?
Personally, I look at cloud mining as a mechanism that lessens the risks for the mining company. There are high chances that you'll end up without the profit or maybe (but a lower chance) to end up with profit but in first case, mining company benefits better than you and on the second case, mining company gets more profit than you. In any way, it's a double win and not serious loss for the mining company.
1334  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Chinese Police Seize 1% of Bitcoin’s Total Supply on: November 27, 2020, 05:42:52 PM
How on earth it can be a good news?? Having 4 billion USD worth of crypto assets in the hand of an authoritarian government!! It's good that a ponzi scheme is busted but Chinese government is not at all favorable to cryptocurrencies.

I don't know what Chinese law says, but in general for any such kind of financial frauds, the government liquidate the seized assets and return the money to its investors. That liquidation happens in fiat currency so I assume Chinese government will sell off the seized crypto assets. That's not a good news in this bleeding market!

There's no way in hell this coinage will ever reach an open market. Just like every other seizure in every other country they'll be auctioned or a private sale arranged. It's a more positive outcome for everyone than its previous state of affairs.

It's better than it remaining in the hands of the people who stole it. They were dumping constantly, and they deserved nailing to the wall.
Sometimes it happens like when things are confiscated, they are destroyed also. How will they act? Selling bitcoins on auction? Will they sell the whole supply alone? According to rules, they should sell the whole and not parts if I amn't mistaken and if that's true, then I think it will be hard or almost impossible to find the buyer. Btw, right now PayPal may buy the whole supply in good price, it would be double win for them but my thinking is just a supposition.

Btw imagine guys those 1% of coins were "burned'. What will happen to the price? Logically, it should significantly rise because right now there is a high demand but supply decreases by 1%.
1335  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Which jurisdictions allow BTC to be converted to fiat without asking questions? on: November 26, 2020, 07:41:52 PM
First of all, usually, small countries have weak laws when it comes to money deposits from other countries, etc. But the main problem is that 1 Million USD will look like a huge money for every country, especially for small ones and how are you gonna convert it? You may request special rate for exchange but they'll surely ask, how did you get that money? Every country has an anti-money laundering policy (AML). Even imagine and you got one million USD, then how are you gonna go away from that country into another one with that million? Well, you may still do something in this case but the fact that you aren't a citizen of a country where you plan to convert bitcoins, will cause problems. In overall, you have to be pro in it and don't ask such things on this forum.

If you think that you were scammed, then open the scam accusation thread (you can find it as a subboard of Trading Discussion).
Usually, they let you to bet and do other things, it happens on every casino, they check accounts when there is the time of withdrawing, so don't look at it like a scammy way, FJ isn't that type of casino. The problem in your case may be that either your family member has created account there, you may used shared internet connection or you may used VPN that offers shared IPs instead of dedicated ones.

Contact them or you know how you should act if you have proofs! Your issue will be solved!
1337  Economy / Economics / Re: Paypal bought up to 70% of all the newly mined bitcoin recently on: November 26, 2020, 06:35:56 PM
Personally, I think that this is one of the most amazing news that I have heard lately. Paypal bought bitcoin when price was very high, between 15-19K USD. I guess there are very smart people behind the Paypal and their results prove everything. If they bought bitcoin in so high prices, this means they have a huge expectation that price will rise or at least not dramatically fall. Also, this action is another alarm that shows society that PayPal is seriously interested and there is an increased demand on supply from such company. Logically, this should cause a price rise. And you know what? PayPal plans to develop and implement more crypto services, so, the very exciting year comes up for crypto world.
1338  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of Monero? on: November 26, 2020, 05:34:21 PM
If you guys remember, one of the major bitcoin mixer - bitmixer was closed in 2017 and the owner stated that after deep investigation, he could confirm that the most anonymous coin for transactions was - Monero. We all also know that this altcoins is known for it's anonimity.

But right now, as it seems, crypto analytics firm - CipherTrace announced that they are capable of tracing monero transactions (stolen money, illegal transactions, etc) and they already have filed two patents. They made this tool as a part of the project with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and they have been working on this since 2019.

What do you guys think about it? According to the structure of monero transactions (rings...) will they really be able to trace it? Or just another hype?
As you can see Monero team aren't even saying anything about this because it's not real, homeland security my foot, if they have this so called tool they won't dare utter a word about it, lol this is so laughable, good move U.S department of homeland security, welcome to crypto world
Well, it's not like that at all, according to the article published on cointelegraph, one of the Monero outreach representative said that such claims are highly suspicious. It means that they deny the fact that CipherTrace will be able to trace transactions as they claim.

Interesting timing for the more and more "persuasive" news about Monero's death.
You know that in a couple of days Monero's emission will drop under Bitcoin's? And since crypto winter has ended, I'd say that somebody wants to grab cheap coins while they stay cheap.

I think that Monero tracking may be done only in very few specific situations (laboratory specific tests), and those situations don't happen much (or at all) "in the wild", but a company needs advertising, isn't it?
Why do you say that crypto winter has ended?
Btw I agree with you, this is kind of marketing strategy when you claim something that looks like unclaimable. Monero has the reputation to be the most anonymous one, by targeting it, company gains attention of people: If they are able to find weak dots in such a currency, then there is nothing they can't do...
1339  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Fees high on: November 26, 2020, 04:51:13 PM

I personally don't like that, for me, the improvement on Segwit update already made Bitcoin more accessible for more people.

I agree. The BTC upgrade to Segwit has been nothing but a significant improvement on the blockchain. While this led to fast and more efficient transaction speeds I appreciate that we're not at a level where we are always happy about the fees but it is an improvement nonetheless.

That said, in light of the new rise in price of BTC will lead to more adoption and on-chain transactions, and I have no doubt that more improvements will be done to minimize the fees as much as possible.

However, we must also remember that fees are important incentives for miners to do their job properly so these can't be too low that will de-incentivize them.
Mining fees were extremely low before 2017 and miners were doing pretty well, they were still getting decent reward from fees alone but right now, what happens is ridiculous. Fees are extremely high, this often leads a lot of people to don't use bitcoin often and I think that's bad for bitcoin network. This is the time when users from btc to altcoins and then it happens like they stick to them. For example, see BCH, some bitcoin users leave it because BCH offers them higher block size, i.e. cheap transactions. Sadly, lighting network isn't massively adopted and that's a huge problem.
If I want to send $50, why do I have to pay $10 in transaction? I know at the moment it's lower but... Because of the love of bitcoin, we shouldn't deny the fact that current situation around fees is very bad. We need massive adoption of LH but I don't know what resistance these people find in adopting of it.
1340  Economy / Economics / Re: this pandemic have made me do research on things i never tought before economy on: November 26, 2020, 03:21:03 PM
Biden's proposal is to set higher taxes on rich Americans. There is a logic behind his words. If we set high taxes on everyone, then poor people just will not be able to resist the pressure and they may won't survive or there will be robbery and stealing because these people need food to stay alive. If we only set high taxes on rich people, they'll still live the good life but with a little bit less money and I think that should be okay.

If we open the whole world - there will be "hyperinflation"
If we close the whole world - there will be what? Anything better than hyperinflation? Closing the world = mental problems, i.e. more death because of it, destroyed economics and businesses, it's like committing suicide and in case of hyperinflation, we can still survive, see Germany as the example of it, they had enormous hyperinflation back in 1920 but built the strongest economics.

I agree with Baiden here. Just see Jeff Bezos, a person who become even richer during pandemic decided to cut down the rates for amazon affiliates, how fair is it?
