1621  Economy / Economics / Re: Remote Working and Inequality on: August 29, 2020, 10:15:28 PM
Remote working has it's pros and cons. Believe me, it's really bad when you recruit new employee and you have to teach them everything online. Also, at the same time in this case there are less social contacts/relationships and it's not good at all. We, humans are social creatures and staying at home and moving on digital isn't that good at all. There are a lot of people who lack social skills and a lot of them have social anxiety but at the same time want to maintain social contacts and for these people, such situation aren't that good at all.

Also it has a whole different charisma when you work in a good company, in a good office. Well, that's what I think at least. Personally, I see that a lot of companies want to move on traditional system and don't want just remote work, seriously.

More likely, remote working and everything what you said applies to web developers and programmers, this is the niche where no one cares where you live, all they care about is your talent in this job and to be fair, there are cases where if you are really talented and are needed for company, they can offer job visa and apartment for you, everything depends on you in this case.

So, idk, both sides have there arguments like you have your own and me - mine.
1622  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: UK hospital launches rehab programme for bitcoin addiction on: August 29, 2020, 08:15:09 PM
Oh, seems it's a little bit old news but cmon, is bitcoin trading really considered as addiction?

Quote
Cryptocurrency users can get hooked by the volatile fluctuation of prices online which creates a ‘high’ when they buy or trade a winning currency, Castle Craig said in a statement. “This can be exciting but also addictive and, like gambling addiction, can be financially disastrous.”
Well, by that logic we can call a lot of behaviors an addiction. Everything that affects dopamine and happiness hormones is addictive, that also includes sugar, emulsifiers and it's related products: Pizza, chips, chocolate. Also, for some people, they can become addicted to certain persons, someone gets addicted to money, etc but we can't call everything an addiction. We are addicted to air every second after all... Ok, joke.

Bodybuilding also turns into addiction for some people but I hugely doubt we should move them into rehab, same applies to any other sports.

When they decided to launch rehab program for bitcoin addiction, were there really a lot of cases when people were selling their houses, did they commit suicide because of unsuccessful bitcoin investment? Or what did give them a reason that it was so huge problem that it was necessary to call bitcoin trading an addiction and launch rehabs? Isn't fiat trading addictive? Cmon...
1623  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Bitcoin Address Balance Checker (Web) - Check balance of addresses in a browser on: August 29, 2020, 07:37:06 PM
First of all, good project. I think it will be better if we have a possibility in future to create account and then create campaign/project where we out our addresses that we want to monitor, for example: Project 1 (three my old address) Project 2 (My current active address), Project 3 (My friend's address) and so on.

Also it will be better if we have possibility to enter all addresses (Btc, Ethereum, Litecoin) and then system automatically detect each of them and attach watermark to understand what address belongs to which coin and monitor them all in one.

Also I think it will be good if some project owners (BPIP, Loycev, maybe my sig campaign website which is shutdown right now but will be alive soon and etc) hire one good VPS and host their bitcointalk related projects.
1624  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Using a MMPOG game to buy bitcoin anonymously on: August 28, 2020, 11:56:28 PM
The real question is, why is anonymity so important to you? (Buy bitcoins legally, push through several Mixer services.. Viola! ....you got your anonymity back, without you having to jump through a bunch of hoops.  Wink

Until your exchange wants to control how you use cryptocurrency.

Reference : https://www.newsbtc.com/2019/12/19/what-a-binance-bitcoin-withdrawal-suspension-shows-about-privacy-kyc/
That's the question that I have too, if everything that you do is legal, then why do you really need that much anonimity?
Well, imagine I withdraw bitcoins from binance on my wallet. Now I bough protein powder on website that accepts bitcoins. Now, does binance know that I sent bitcoins on certain website and bought protein powder? If yes, then my apologies. But if not, then what's the problem?

There are many reasons to stay anonymous or at least have better privacy knowing what you're doing is legal. It's like saying freedom of speech isn't really needed or important because you have nothing to say.

Also another logical way to get rid of binance will be to withdraw money regularly into wallet A and send from this wallet to wallet B (then C, D) and from wallet B to mixers and on wallet Z. Yeah, a lot of fees but shouldn't be very suspicious way cause what you do from binance and your wallet, seems pretty logical and wallet B and Z looks like 3rd party wallets.

It might be possible, but there's no knowing how far they're willing to track their users or how they determine if you're doing activity they don't want you to do.
Well, that proposal that you sad on freedom of speech is far away from my post, what I meant is different thing. In any way, bitcoin and cryptocurrencies offer higher anonimity than any other traditional payment methods offered by banks and other financial institutes. You make bitcoin transaction = you are anonymous except from those who want to do deep investigation on you. You buy simple things with bitcoin = staying anonymous cause no one will dig into you when there is nothing suspicious but then you do illegal things, then it's a whole different story.

There are better alternatives to bitcoin for higher anonimity and in any way, all of them have weak points that give possibility to trace victim. Some years ago it was very hard or almost impossible to catch those who were using bitcoin for illegal things but right now, situation has dramatically changed.

1. And to make parallel to mine and your example:
Doing legal things with bitcoin = staying anonymous (no reason to track you).
Saying anything ok = freedom of speech

2. Using bitcoin for illegal things = your anonimity under question
Saying offensive words to people = punch on your face.
1625  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Best Method: How to mix - the entire process on: August 28, 2020, 10:07:20 PM
The basics for security are: Tails (Linux), VPN, Tor and then mixers but for the sake of god, why do you need them? If you want to buy something legal but at the same time don't want to leave traces, believe me, just using random reputable mixer without vpn and other staff will be enough. No one ever will makr any investigation on a person who buys clothes or dietary supplements online. They make investigation when there is high doubts around certain person.
If what you do is legal, then no need to worry. For educational purposes, I already said shortly basics of stack for higher security. If security is the field you are interested in, then learn it. Just 1-2 answer from this forum won't help.

1627  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Virtual trading before actual one - pros and cons on: August 24, 2020, 11:20:17 PM
I just skipped straight to using small amounts of funds.

I dumped ~1% of my portfolio at the time and started trading with 1-5% (~$1-5) amounts of that 1% to test how well I could do for profit, but I was also following signals, at the same time on a different account so I could keep track of sentiment and still make some sort of profit. I think I'd just have got bored of a demo account and 30 cents profit on a dollar isn't too bad of a win and the negative of that is a much nicer loss too.
I agree with you, that was the point of my thread to tell. I think it worth to get some experience with your bucks and this way you'll slowly adapt to higher bankroll. People usually directly move from virtual money to real high bankroll.

There's the idea of "scared money" in poker. If you're playing with money that you're scared of losing, then you have already become attached to the bankroll that you're wagering. When you are making bets or trades, you are prepared for the worst-case scenario, otherwise you would not (or, for most people, should not) have performed the action.

That's one reason why some people like to hide their balance, so their behaviors are not influenced by any psychological factors during volatile swings.
A lot of people get the whole "emotionless trading" schtick completely wrong: you aren't emotionless. Instead, you're risk-averse and seeking to maximize your expected gains. This means deducing conclusions through reliable processes, and not falling for any fallacious thinking that can negatively skew one's perspective.

Good example from poker. In most cases people aren't prepared for worst-case scenario and all they hope and expect is bright future. Then, when they trade with their bankroll and in case they lose, they are afraid that this bright future may broke and want to fix it as soon as possible to make their wishes come true but this is the time when emotions rise significantly and in most cases, possibility of making their wishes come true is abandoned.

You may think that you are "emotionless" in trading but at the same time it depends on your subconscious. Maybe today and tomorrow you'll act like "emotionless" but your subconscious will act emotional and may change your behaviors. It's just logical reaction/instinct.

1629  Economy / Gambling / Re: 🔥Sportbook and Casino: BITSLER > $10,000 DAILY Wagering contest < on: August 24, 2020, 08:40:21 PM
Really didn't know if bitsler added sportsbook on their website, was a little bit busy and ill during these weeks and seems I missed it. Btw checked their website yesterday and I want to say that it's just pretty good, not exciting to be fair but just good.

Also checked whether I am able to bet via bitsler coins and seems currency is disabled as for now. Hope they'll add btslr coin in near future and let users to wager their coins this way, will be pretty great cause users will more likely hit high bets and risk more, as a result they may catch good odds and wager a lot, personally once I caugh 1492 odd 4 years ago, this day (fb reminder haha).

The last time I played on bitsler was I think 2 years ago with my favorite roulette now that I'm into sports betting on my past few years I didn't know that they now have a sports betting on their casino I guess it's time to go back to bitsler.
Yes, they have added sports and casino recently. You can check them directly from https://www.bitsler.com/en/casino and https://www.bitsler.com/en/sports For your kind information roulette is still present on bitsler.

When I saw that casino section I thought they add live blackjack, roulette and etc but seems it was a little bit disappointment cause there were only every other games except sportsbook.
1630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to make old people understand Bitcoin? on: August 24, 2020, 07:50:58 PM
I'm looking for the easiest way to make old people understand Bitcoin more thoroughly. I want to let the elderly know about the "Bitcoin revolution", yet I find it quite challenging to explain it to them in a way they can understand how it all works. There are some wallets that have a "user-friendly" interface, but even the basics of sending/receiving Bitcoin can have a steep learning curve for the older people. A Bitcoin wallet with built-in accessibility features, could help even elder people with vision or hearing problems to use the pioneer cryptocurrency in their daily lives.

If you happen to know of a way to make old people understand Bitcoin easily, please let me know. Any suggestions or recommendations will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
Btw why do you think that it's hard to explain to elder people? Well, you can't make them to download electrum and save keys, seeds and etc and to be fair it doesn't worth to risk that much because in older age, memory is getting worse and you know, your bitcoins once gone/lost, gone/lost forever. On another hand, you can kindly explain that it digital money. Like they have card to get their pension from ATM, that money is on cumputer and they withdraw it via atm and after that there is zero on computer and same applies to bitcoin but it's a little bit different system, more likely encryption. You can search transactions like you can search telephone numbers in book (in past there was such thing so elders will understand). That's all, plain and simple.
1631  Other / Meta / Re: All blame to bounty hunters. on: August 24, 2020, 07:22:47 PM
OP, have you heard anything about "Quality Over Quantity? How do you say that shitposters make this forum more active and popular? Imagine, when I see a good, interesting topic where would love to see opinions from others, boom, there are thousands of shitposts in such topics and 1-2 good post gets lost. Personally, I prefer to see only these 1-2 good post and don't have to rummage through all of them.

Bounty hunters are like an asthma, it's hard to see good posts (breath) but once you delete (use inhaler), forum gets cleaner and cleaner (relaxing the muscles of the airways into the lungs and you breath easily).
1632  Other / Archival / Re: The Ultimate Online Slots Guide on: August 23, 2020, 11:59:27 PM
Most of the slots use Random Number Generator (RNG) where on each bet your luck is started from 0 that means each bet doesn't increase your chances, instead every bet carries the same lack as old ones. But it will be interesting to see any review in details about slots that use provably fair system. The only slot with PF system that I know is Bitsler's Fruitsler. For their fruitsler, they use new version of server seeds and more details are on their website.

House edge of slots are very high in overall and it doesn't worth to gamble with big budget cause you'll end up without your money pretty soon (if profit is what you want from gambling and again, this is very silly). Otherwise, for fun, slots are one of the most amazing, at least personally I find them this way because modern slot games have good graphics, nice and a lot of features while some of them carry good epic songs.
1633  Economy / Economics / Re: The number of jobless people has crossed one million in US - worrying sign? on: August 23, 2020, 11:05:06 PM
Idk what happens around you but I see a lot of people who share the idea that "Trump is not my president".  It's always easy to blame someone but of course, because of this virus number of unemployment has significantly risen, sadly as it should have been. It's another task whether trump did right actions in correct way and time and etc. Situation was especially worse in America, there are still a lot of people who don't care about corona virus and just want to continue life normally and don't care whether they get affected by this virus or not and I totally understand to them, at some point I was in their queue but things need much more clarification and deep analytics rather than just easily blaming someone.

The increase in the unemployment rate is not only visible in the US but also in other countries who are still struggling with the rapid increase in COVID cases. It might worsen if the situation remains until the last quarter and I think it will be hard for the economy to recover while there's still a lot of new cases. But for sure, once the vaccine is already available, the US can recover from the decline they are facing right now.

As for political views, there will always be two sides, the one who's not satisfied with the performance and the once who still believe with the administration's capability in handling the pandemic. Now it's up for the people who will vote in the next election, and I think this crisis is a big lesson for everyone.

This crisis isn't a lesson for anyone. Sometimes things happen as someone wants to be. If it's a lesson, then why do we have experts in economics? Then change this title and it will be whole different tasks.
1634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Blockchain solution for Pension system of Primary school teachers of Bangladesh on: August 23, 2020, 06:41:27 PM
It is not something important for cryptocurrency to be legal in Bangladesh. But blockchain based technology implementation is one step toward crypto to be legal because people will realize utility of blockchain based solution.
A Bangeldeshi government agency is collaborating with IBM to harness blockchain for modernizing the country’s digital pension system.
Source- https://cointelegraph.com/news/ibm-pilots-blockchain-solution-for-primary-teachers-pensions-in-bangladesh

Considering how corrupted the government officials are in Bangladesh, blockchain implementation can become a key thing to bring back transparency into the system. It's not just about Bangladesh but also its neighbors like India and Pakistan as well. Majority of their government officials are highly corrupted and bribe is the only thing that will help you to get your work done.

Implementation of blockchain may help to bring transparency which is really needed to end the suffering of common people's dealing with government officials.

But it's just an assumption. It hard to break the hive of corruption so I can only hope for the best. In India, I had experience in dealing with Land Records & Revenue department for registering my property and 3 levels of bribes were nedded to get my legal job done and I wasn't at fault for anything.
I absolutely agree with you, integration of blockchain technologies will raise trust among people but at the same time government has to educate people around blockchain, what it is, why it's used and why it makes them sure that things will be fair and transparent. Without this kind of education, they can't make people sure in things by just saying that we integrated blockchain technologies.
Very good news, I like when blockchain technologies really rock in things where it's necessary and this one is really the one among other things that includes land title registry and so on.

Yeah, it is insane to think that they have added betting on top of everything else. I mean we are talking about a place that was basically filled with faucet first, there was ads everywhere and they charged a lot because it was one of the most visited crypto places in the world (not it is even one of the most visited all websites and not just crypto) and right now it is getting really really awesome, we are talking about a place that was already awesome in the first year and right now there is even 10x better version here with all the additions. Kudos to wetsuit man, he is definitely awesome for building something like this.

I haven't really seen any addition to here that wasn't liked by the people, whatever you guys did was well received and gets so much attention.

I actually never remember any ads on this site, so I guess that must have been before 2016 or 2017 (can't remember when I opened my account on FBC). But even the faucet only days before I deposited I really don't even remember captcha except on occassion.

So for me, except for Golden Tickets, and daily wagers and the sports/events betting, the site actually hasn't changed much at all (and that's a good thing!).
Freebitco was one of the most famous website in bitcoin's history back in 2016. It was so famous that articles written via banks were suggesting freebitco as a one major way to earn bitcoin. Btw yeah, there was some ads on website but it wasn't much, everything was pretty normal, I would even say that they didn't have much ads and also want to mention that along with adsense (if I remember correctly), you could buy ads on their website via bitcoins and it was cheap.
Freebitco did the right things in last 1-2 years, they understood that faucet business was dying but at the same time they wanted to stay alive and even more on market. They changed their visions, integrated very beneficial things for themselves, had good amount of money and in order to collect more, offered people profit on investments.

Soon we will see sports betting on freebitco, blog and even more Smiley
1636  Economy / Trading Discussion / Virtual trading before actual one - pros and cons on: August 23, 2020, 03:13:35 PM
I see a lot of advice where people suggest each other to practice on websites where they can trade with virtual money. To be fair, I am in this list too among them but at the same time no one warns such people that it was it's pros and cons, more likely cons are outsiders while giving advices.

Pros: You trade with virtual money where your actions can't raise/damage your real budget, it looks like you spend money like nothing. This gives us possibility to test our skills and abilities in trading and help us further why we make mistakes and what we need to fix while considering the fact that the reason why I profit/lose is because you lose/profit.

Yeah, it sounds good but sometimes when we move on real life trading, things go wrong. We are always warned to leave our emotions outside while we are trading that includes: Not to panic sell, hold when there are harsh moments, etc. But we forget to mention another main emotion that we face in this situation: We trade with our money where we are responsible to results and these results may have huge impact on our life. Inside, in our subconscious, we worry about the results because we trade with our, real money.

To my mind that's one of the main reason why people usually start well with virtual trading and end up badly in real life trading and somehow this is one of the most skipped problem in overall.
1637  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: More than 50% of bitcoins from Twitter hack have been sent through mixers on: August 22, 2020, 08:50:09 PM
17,18 bitcoin? hah, that's nothing. Back in when binance was hacked, at Least 4,836 BTC was laundered through chipmixer. More than one year has passed since then if I am correct and nothing has happened to chipmixer, so, believe me, this amount is just a drop in the ocean.
Persoanlly I couldn't imagine if any mixer would try to really enter this market seriously but Chipmixer just rocks, they are not only great but greatest in what they do. Will be interesting to see if they were caught soon after using mixing services and which mixer succeed in this situation.
1638  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting: how much knowledge is too much on: August 22, 2020, 08:15:18 PM
First of all I want to mention that I used to have great knowledge in sports (not recently because don't have any free time for that). Every statistics is very important because you predict the future and you can more accurately predict it when you know the history, that includes: Which team needs win the most, in what conditions are each team? How did transfers affect to each club? Did star players made club better or still can't they rise? What are the scores in recent matches? Is this game important for certain club? Do they need to be more rested for upcoming match? And this goes endlessly.

But overthinking always kills everything so just don't overthink but consider a lot of things.
1639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and crypto currencies are getting dangerous on: August 22, 2020, 07:04:33 PM
I noticed how every exchange now enforces KYC on every individual that registers on their site, also the global governments/exchanges tracking bitcoin users and monitoring how they spend their bitcoins with the advanced visuals tools that’s out there, I believe if this stays like this and more and more companies start to enforce kyc on it customers, we will lose our freedom, people think bitcoin is the freedom but no it’s aint I believe it’s the most invasive surveillance mechanism ever, we can’t even use mixers anymore it’s basically doesn’t work because at the end of the day it’ll leave a trace no matter what you do, this is heading towards a solitary environmental and it’s not a good idea at all. Lets think twice and focus on our freedom, privacy and future.
Bitcoin was leaving the trace from the very begining, blockchain alone is an opened book of transactions but this doesn't mean that bitcoin and cryptocurrencies are getting dangerous. What gives you a reason to say that? If everything you do is 100% fine and legal, then believe me, no one will seek for your transactions and do deep investigation around it, so finally you are still secured and aren't traced. But if you do illegal things, then yeah, bitcoin isn't secure cause as you see lately, a lot of people who used bitcoin for bad purposes were caught and it's not so easy to hide your bitcoins because people already learnt how to trace it.

And KYC, yeah, I don't like it too and still there are some business that offer crypto services without KYC but very limited in number. Governments request them to ask users for their KYC documents but at the same time they can't protect these sensitive information carefully and lose it multiple times (we got hacked and other blablabla).

~snip~

Although from a legal standpoint we can't do anything, is it normal that 1/3 of the US population is literally on their knees, while others don't know what to do with their money?

To make matters even more tragicomic, Jeff Bezos leads the list of America’s rich is asking for donations for his 800 000 employees, and in same time his net worth is $189.4 billion Huh This is actually the case for some serious psychologists if you ask me...

As long as people like this are our role models and moral verticals, we shouldn't hope for a better world - but lest someone misunderstand me, I'm not just criticizing the American system, this is happening all over the world.

~snip~

There is one great lyrics from my favourite song: This is the world you've created, the product of what I've become.
This words truly describes that we created terrible world and how? Let me clarify. Always, there are some people who have ambition to be better and on another level than others. Once this man achieves success and others become his/her slaves, there is someone who tries to overcome from this situation and become free and this kind of person also tries to attract people who may share the same idea but imagine what happens then? There is a one person who tries to get the most from this situation and rise himself/herself in a selfish way while abandon what others were working on and trying to achieve.

Maybe when you read this example, you may think about ancient slave-soldiers but this applies to current reality.

There are some people who own money that would be enough for most part of the society but... People even don't care about that and that's a huge problem. Have you seen very massive protests in the streets around this problem? No...

And Jeff Bezos, he is really mentally ill. He made a lot of money during pandemic and as a bonus, significantly cut affiliate fees for those who are under Amazon Affiliate Program.
