1341  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: LEGO Bitcoin Wallets on: November 26, 2020, 02:26:47 PM
Amazing! Just googled and seems there are some people who made the QR code via LEGO. I think whoever imagined this at first, should be in their marketing team. Doesn't Lego has a bricks line with the flat, sleek surface? I just tested your QR code but somehow it didn't work (btw laptop's screen and smartphone's cameras are good).
OP have you tried to make QR code with black and white Play-Doh? I think it will be cool and fun, I would take it from children but those colours are always mixed with other colors, so, not useful Cheesy
1342  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Proof of pure luck on: November 26, 2020, 01:00:56 PM
This system, known as Provably Fair, has been known for years, and it probably greatly contributed to the growth of crypto gambling industry, since it solved the problem of trusting in the fairness of the game. But it didn't solve trust completely, a casino can still make an exit scam, they can refuse to payout the winnings, and this cryptographic commitment scheme doesn't work for investors, which means that casinos could be theoretically defrauding them.

There is the trust left on FortuneJack's account:
Quote
FortuneJack's "Adrenaline" game is not actually provably fair, despite being advertised as such. They can freely increase the house edge or rig games past the 10th one without possibility of detection. FortuneJack promised to fix it in Jan 2019, and nothing as been done since. Rest of casino/sports seems to be as promised. Avoid playing Adrenaline if you want it to be provably fair (FJ can cheat without detection easily at the moment)
Here is the explanation of why FJ's "Provably Fair" system isn't fair.

Also check the Wixiplay provably fair system.

Personally, I don't know the backend and can't really say sure whether website is really provably fair or not. In this case, I think like you OP but at the same time there is no need to fake that system because they already have a house edge that guarantees that casino will profit on long-term.

I suggest you to check this thread too: "Provably Fair": How Fair & Provable is it?
1343  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Rumours that Bitcoin was created in Russia on: November 25, 2020, 08:46:00 PM
You might want to give us sources on where you got those claims, but it doesn't really matter where Bitcoin was created, and whoever Satoshi Nakamoto really is. Satoshi could've been Hitler and it still wouldn't matter because Bitcoin in it's current state is decentralized anyway.

P.S. Probably stop reading conspiracy theories, especially the extraordinarily bad ones like the ones you mentioned.
Yes, Hitler escape to Argentina in 1945 and took a bags of pervitin and another drug that could boost lifespan.. He had zero tolerance to them and it happened like after taking them, his cognitive abilities and attention increased like in the movie - limitless. And with the synergic combination of improved lifespan and cognitive abilities, he thought that informational technologies were the future and would conquer the 21th century. He decided to create bitcoin and the plan behind it was to make it useable for all over the world. Once the final plan, the process of bitcoin taking the place of fiat will succeed, then Hitler will rise like a phoenix (but his toothbrush moustache won't be burned).

Okay, the joke is joke. You'll hear rumours always and everywhere, it's fun and gains the attention of the public, people love conspiracy theories and science fictions. OP I suggest you to just don't think too much about that rumour and simply ignore.

Trump will run again 2024 that's for sure. He'll prepare for 2024 and will disturb Biden/Democrats with lawsuits in the mean time.

The reps have no better candidate.
Four years is very long time many things could be changed but one thing is going in Trump favour really reps have no better candidate for fighting against Biden/Democrats.

Trump is their best chance but I am not sure if it will be enough. They are just too many. Bigpharma, Bigtech, MSM, Wallstreet, average morons, SJW they all support the dems.

I am surprised Trump won in 2016. That was a miracle.
The problem of our society is that businessmen are in politics. Businessmen are a type of persons who make money from offering different services and offers. All they care about in company is - profit, these words is almost highlighted in every book that's related to investments.
We need patriot politicians in politics, not money seeker businessmen, then we may succeed.

And, 4 year is a very long time. One year ago we couldn't imagine if life would change so drastically, so, who knows what will happen in near future? Lockdown happened in one day, from that day everything changed, so, don't predict the future.

Final words: I think we should finish debate about things around Trump and election in this thread cause it's not related to potilics.
1345  Economy / Economics / Re: Here is why btc will die as a crypto on: November 25, 2020, 07:30:48 PM
If you think the reason why bitcoin exist is to make fast and cheap transactions, you don't understand what cryptocurrency is about.

Bitcoin is not about sending money fast or cheap, but about sending it freely: Immutability, censorship-resistance, and permissionless.

All "fast" blockchains are just centralized and slower than visa. If you don't care about decentralization and just want to make fast transfers, you should use Visa.

Edit:
I just checked the mempool, it is completely empty. You should have used 1 sat/byte and paid less than 0.01 usd.
Next time, check the mempool before sending
You can do it here
I have often read and heard arguments from people saying that one of the greatest advantage of bitcoin is that it's cheap or with almost non-existant fees compared to credit card transactions. High fees were the reason of why we had bitcoin cash fork (which is N5 on coinmarketcup right now) and that's the reason why we implemented lighting network and we all know how terrible it was especially back in 2017 that caused all of these. I would say that majority of people choose crypto over traditional payment methods because of low fees too.
If we want the massive usage of crypto, at first it should meet the demand. Bitcoin will not die and there are tons of reasons, a lot of businesses are built on btc services, etc but it doesn't mean that the door is closed for another altcoins and bitcoin won't get under the shadow.

Bitcoin isn't that decentralized at all if you mean that it's the life-giving source. Bitcoin is just a business right now because of shady businessmen who want money from everything. It lost decentralization, privacy (easier to track compared to old times), transaction confirmation speed, transaction fees... We have high price because halving had it's effect on it and people focused their hopes on it when they saw that fiat was published like book paper. Future will give us the better imagination. I amn't against bitcoin, no, you can't imagine how I love it because it had huge impact on my life and career, it radically changed everything for very positive but...
1346  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Argentina raises Gambling tax on: November 25, 2020, 06:14:05 PM
There is no need to help gambling related service cause they make tons of money, just plain and simple. Despite the fact that I am into gambling and have experience in this field, I think that it's good. People will still gamble, the casino will still profit but the positive thing that will happen is that more money will go into the budget. It will be positive if this money is used for people and not for making elite people richer. So, what happens there? People gamble, some win - some lose, in most cases - lose because games are mathematically designed like that, so, some people have much money - some less, much will give away money to casino and casino will bring more money to the government and this last one will spend this money on people in overall (If the government is good).
1347  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: can i find an investor here for a startup? on: November 25, 2020, 05:37:06 PM
First of all it's hard or almost impossible to find a person who will really be interested not particularly only in your idea but in overall and then - 99% of people if not 100% who will contact you will be those who want to steal the idea or want to scam you.
If you want to find an investor, build better connections, networking plays one of the major role in such cases. Build good relationships with good people. Right now, it's very hard time for such steps cause there are no events to meet new people but the one good thing that comes to my mind is to get a membership of a coworking spaces, they aren't closed right now in some countries. This way, you still have a chance to meet new people.

Maybe there are some offers from governments or banks for startups? Check it!
1348  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why visa debit credit masrercard can do? And btc Can't? on: November 25, 2020, 05:06:44 PM
These two are wholly different things. Visa/master card are 3rd party service providers, you pay in their cards and are able to store your money and pay via it. In case you lost your card (for btc - wallet), you are able to recover it by just providing your ID document and your funds will be safe. In case something happens and you have a doubt, you can lock it anytime. In case something happens and someone steals your money, you are able to get money back, your money isn't lost.

Bitcoin is a currency and the payment method at the same time. It uses p2p (peer to peer) technology and you don't depend on banks for transaction confirmations. It's network is different from visa/mastercards. But still something similar can be applied to bitcoin, i.e. I mean bitcoin debit cards.
1349  Economy / Gambling / Re: Sportsbooks that aren’t paying out on Biden winning the US Presidential Election on: November 25, 2020, 04:03:26 PM
Trump's statements are so funny but the most curious and hilarious thing is that the USA is the major observatory of elections in other small countries their statements over elections has value but... Right now, USA states that election was stolen. Isn't this hilarious? Cheesy

I think some sportsbooks are owned by the Trump Organization and they still think that election was stolen and the real winner is Mr Trump (joke).

I think that in reality the casinos that were stated aren't in profit and they have a reason to wait for a while, they may wait until Trump will stop tweeting that he is the real winner and election was stolen.
1350  Economy / Economics / Re: After 1 year of Covid 19 Virus on: November 24, 2020, 08:53:03 PM
Do we know the long term effect of this vaccine? No, it was created in a very short timeframe. There are a lot of things that we didn't know at first and discovered later, for example: One dose of antidepressants alters the brain within hours (and not within 4-6 weeks). Single dose of T can shut down your HTPA, etc.
I haven't read much about the research of those drugs and their possible side effects that they know right now but still, it's the greatest discovery, there is no side effect as terrible as death.
I think this vaccine will give time to take a breath to our society and the healthcare system. It's very necessary in most of the countries, otherwise, it will be extremely difficult. Slowly, we will finally take care of this virus.
1351  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: Integrating btc into my website on: November 24, 2020, 06:02:26 PM
p.s. since I'll be accepting donations in btc I was thinking of making like a "thank you" page where all who donated can send a 200x200 image, or whatever they'd like to, to be made into a gallery of supporters. Any thoughts about that?

maybe you're not worried about your privacy, but your donors can be. they may want to remain anonymous and not want their pictures to be shown on a random website.
It's really good idea, there may be some people who really want to appear in that list and there may be some who will just donate because of possibility to be included in that list but still, without doubt, that should be optional because some people prefer better privacy.

I really suggest you to check laws carefully. In the country where I live, I can receive bitcoin and run a small online btc business without paying any cent in tax if my traffic is from foreign countries. It still depends on business type, authorities aren't very strict here.

I don't know from where you are, so, hard to say. Maybe you should state the country and ask here? Or there can be some FB groups in your country where people discuss about such things? Or reddit?
1352  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Player protection - stop loss limit on: November 24, 2020, 03:18:24 PM
Hi guys, as you know some casino/bookmakers offer "player protection" giving ability to set up a stop loss limits.
What happens if a player lose more of this limit and continue to gamble despite any "protection"?
No one can come at your home with gun on your head and shoot it in case you continue to gamble without any protection. You have your own brain and function of this brain is to work! We have ability to not only follow our instincts but to control them and do analytical thinking.

Casino offers you that option in case you can't fully control your head but can make a dicision. Once you click and use this function, then you can't reject it, that's the plus of it.
If you want to stop but at the same time can't control yourself and don't want to use that option, also don't want to seek for a help or see a psychologist, then no one will come and do the job instead of you. If something hurts inside and you won't tell to anyone or express your emotions, then no one will ever understand.
1353  Economy / Exchanges / Re: Binance must have an option to instant sell with 1% of stop loss on: November 24, 2020, 02:50:50 PM
If he had moments where he was just one click away from 1% profit, then I think that his request is legit and 1% isn't that low right now, it's $190 (one month supply for an indian guy, if not more, just for example).

But at the same time I hugely doubt they'll do it. First of all, why do they have to do this? Or why should it be a 1% instead of 0.5? Or 2% or another? And they'll have to make some changes in their UI and I don't think that it's the request that has high demand + number won't be acceptable for everyone + they have an option where you can set it manually.
Well, I think that it will be left the way it is right now but you can try your luck and submit your response.
1354  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life, gambling and trials. on: November 24, 2020, 02:07:57 PM
My story in gambling.
In the beginning I was involved in gambling, at first it was just for entertainment, gradually became addicted, but I was still able to control myself, sometimes I win and lose, so far I have experienced something about myself "gambling money is hot". It's very easy I waste money from gambling, I don't count what i see i buy and my friends buy as much as i want, but i never give money from gambling to my family, i worry, I don't know why, maybe I think that gambling money should not be confused with my family, let them eat it from their own dryness or hard work, that's my story in brief.

So, what do you guys do with the gambling money you get when you win the bet.

You talk like when you gamble, you should win a lot of money and then think about how mentally do you feel regarding this won money and how easy it is to spend this money on your own wishes but hard to spend it on others. Personally, I think that it's not like that. It's hard to win in the casino and it's impossible on a long term, so you end up spending your money instead of won money, i.e. you win $100 but in overall as time goes, you still gamble and finally it happens like if you won $100 during your gambling experience, you end up to lose more than this amount during the winning journey.
A lot of things depend on the amount of money you won. If it's huge, then consider that this was the luckiest time in your life and start a business, buy a house, do something good and appreciatable for your family. But that happens rarely... Behind luck, a person has to be smart, not a gambling addict.
1355  Economy / Economics / Re: More Banks maybe Closed and cryptocurrency exchangers are new way of banking on: November 24, 2020, 12:57:28 PM
Why do you think that banks will close? What gives you a reason to say that? Do you know what is a bank? Let me remind you, after all, bank is a place that lets those who have a surplus of money to deposit and borrow it to those who have a deficit of it, i.e. it's a middleman that gives the lender a guarantee of profit despite the fact whether borrower pays money or not.

There are national banks (for example FED) behind the commercial banks, it's a huge system and cryptocurrencies and Binance can't abandon it and take place of it. First of all there is no way that can do it with their possibilities and resources and then - a small change in law and it's enough to stop the entire process + not many people will come to support it cause most of the population don't know about bitcoin or cryptocurrencies and if they know, a high percentage of them think negatively about it.

And stablecoins? They are pure shit, crypto version of USD.
1356  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin will be used instead of paper money on: November 23, 2020, 08:39:38 PM
The problem with some of you guys is that you either don't want or can't imagine the fact that you can use paper money virtually. Have you ever seen visa/mastercard? Or any other card by your bank? You can have following: $100 real cash or $100 on a virtual account, the only difference is that in the first case you have that cash and in the second case - the bank owns it but allows you to spend it. Bank offers you following: It saves your cash while allowing you to spend the way you wish but you have to pay some fees for it's services.

Bitcoin isn't the only digital solution, it has it's pros and cons and personally I think that it's better alternative of current money system but at the same time bitcoin alone with current form can't be used globally for daily needs, we need another solution and it's a very difficult task.
1357  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Is this the end of Monero? on: November 23, 2020, 07:05:34 PM
If you guys remember, one of the major bitcoin mixer - bitmixer was closed in 2017 and the owner stated that after deep investigation, he could confirm that the most anonymous coin for transactions was - Monero. We all also know that this altcoins is known for it's anonimity.

But right now, as it seems, crypto analytics firm - CipherTrace announced that they are capable of tracing monero transactions (stolen money, illegal transactions, etc) and they already have filed two patents. They made this tool as a part of the project with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and they have been working on this since 2019.

What do you guys think about it? According to the structure of monero transactions (rings...) will they really be able to trace it? Or just another hype?
1358  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Surpassed MasterCard Value on: November 23, 2020, 06:30:42 PM
Actually, BTC is now holding the 15th position, just below and within reach of JP Morgan (see
https://assetdash.com/), and VISA is not that far off. BTC has more way more potential marketcap growth than any individual corporation on the list, and it should be just a question of a short period of time for it to weave into the top 10, and then wiggle it’s way up from there.
Without doubt, bitcoin has the highest potential of growth but at the same time, Tesla has great potential too, they have choose the great and risky niche and succeed, will succeed in future too. On another hand, Pfizer may rise too because of Covid Vaccine, so their growth potential can be quite good. Would say the same about Nvidia because they have some revolutionary ideas in the gaming industry.
And paypal? Personally I think that at the moment, Bitcoin and Paypal will synergistically help each other in this case. Like symbiotic and synergic relationship at the same time.
1359  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Poker network now gives '95% of payouts’ in Bitcoin on: November 23, 2020, 05:49:13 PM
Don't blame me but to be fair, I didn't know about WPN, I just googled it and discovered that it's one of the largest poker network (though I have played with their software). Just read their story and as it seems, they integrated cryptos in 2015 and in just four years, percentage of crypto transactions went from 2% up to 60-65% and right now it's 95%. Insane, I thought that there weren't crypto poker players because I was unable to find any crypto casino offering poker (rarely some do).

Just want to say that if there is someone like me or is interested in overall about WPN and crypto relationship, must check this.

Btw why pokerstars isn't adopting bitcoin and cryptocurrencies? Especially if we consider the statistics of WPN?
1360  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can bitcoin make someone the richest in the world? on: November 20, 2020, 06:34:32 PM
I came to investigate the richest man in Africa, he is not a bitcoin users, but a business man who don't depend on bitcoin investment.
The richest man in the world, he is not a bitcoin users but a business man who use fiat Money to invest and make a good profit.
Is there any way someone can use bitcoin to invest and become the richest in the world?
Your opinion is needed.
Why does he has to be a bitcoin user? Owning of bitcoin doesn't mean that you'll become rich. Check whitepaper at first to understand what was the idea behind creating of bitcoin!
To invest bitcoin in what? Do you mean to invest in bitcoin and become the richest man? If you would mine/buy bitcoins in 2009-2010 and sell them when price was high, buy them when price was low and wouldn't make mistakes, then - yes. If you hack the network, then maybe - yes.
You can't become a rich by just doing everything fine, there is another life behind being a rich and you have to succeed in it. You have to be strong to keep your property or someone will take it away from you!
